A perfect setting before a show or just to go for a meal. The food was absolutely delicious. I had steak, although it didn't mention it on the menu that it was Irish, I did ask and they confirmed it was. The service was quick, efficient and really friendly. Sergio was our waiter and he was very good. Could answer any questions we had re the menu. He also could have a laugh with us. Which gave to a very friendly feel to the whole expirence. It's a comfortable, warm Enviroment and a lovely vibe.

Came to Mackenzie’s for a brunch date with a friend. The server Pedro was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed! He also gave us great food and drink recommendations. Really enjoyed our time here and we will be back.

Good restaurant. Was there with my office colleague. Quantity of food is too much. So make sure your appetite is really great 😃 Overall a good experience . Definitely worth a visit when in dublin Had plenty of seating arrangements when we visited. Good drink options

I went here for a company event and it went over my expectations. The atmosphere was quite cozy and the service was absolutely amazing. I got a chicken parmigiana and the calamari. The calamari was okay, not great, but the chicken parmigiana was absolutely amazing - I'm Mediterranean and this had the best ham I've had since moving to Ireland. Thomas was great! Overall highly recommend for a great fine dining experience that isn't too expensive.

My husband and I went to Mackenzies to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful experience! We chose seafood and each of us ordered a different dish: I had the Seabass and my husband had the Monkfish. Both dishes were absolutely perfect very flavorful, well prepared, and beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients and the balance of flavors truly stood out. But what made our evening even more special was the service provided by our waiter, Pedro. What an incredible professional! He was attentive, polite, friendly, and highly competent. He took great care of us from start to finish with genuine hospitality. He showed excellent knowledge of the menu and even recommended a fantastic cocktail for us , and it was a perfect choice! It had been a long time since we had such a complete dining experience. Pleasant atmosphere, exceptional food, and service that really makes a difference. We left extremely satisfied and we will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Made a reservation and was promptly brought to our table. Menus are small enough but the varied selection of food was great. I had the fish and chips and they were delicious! Chips were massive and a perfect sized portion. Others in my party had smoked cheese burger and a steak, they enjoyed their dishes too! We all had room for a dessert so, some had the apple crumble. I had the ice cream and it was delicious. Staff were very friendly and I would return!

Had an amazing experience here! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The staff were really caring, funny, and genuinely welcoming, which added so much to the experience. Service was spot-on from start to finish, and the atmosphere was brilliant: warm, lively, and relaxed. Can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

Went with colleagues for a small company dinner. Most of us got the set menu, and it was delicious. The atmosphere was lovely, some kind of dimly lit canoe and rope decor, which is nice. We each got an appetizer, a main, and a dessert. Colleagues had the steak dinner, while I had the cod dinner. The cheesecake was more like a Basque cheesecake with a cherry coulis. They don’t skimp on their portions, and the service was top notch.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend all the pizzas and burgers. The restaurant is very well located. The menu offers a wide variety of options. All the staff attention was delightful, specially our waiter Sergio. We'll come back soon

Taco starter and the steak was 10/10. The staff is very friendly and caring. Happy birthday singing skills 10/10 🎉 Recommendations: leave some ash trays outside to spare the poor plant :D P.s We are not experts but we did not understand the pineapple dessert, wouldn't recommend (personally) 🥲

Hello, Good day. There was 4 of us yesterday at 6pm, our first time and all 4 of us really enjoyed Mackenzies restaurant, both the food and service were superb. The spacing of the table also was really good as it felt like we had our own table privacy and were not too near other tables. Thanks for a really lovely experience.

Amazing atmosphere, absolutely delicious food, and the best service we’ve had in a long time! We haven’t been treated so well in ages. Our waiter, Pedro, was the reason our evening was so wonderful and enjoyable. He guided us perfectly, from choosing our food to picking drinks, and everything was absolutely flawless! I have to highlight how incredible this young man is , his charisma and smile truly made all the difference. We’ll definitely be coming back for Pedro, and I must emphasize again how amazing everything was!

We were served by a lovely young man named Pablo, and he was absolutely warm and brilliant from start to finish. His service was a solid 10/10. He made sure we were comfortable, well taken care of, and enjoying every moment of our experience.

Hello TGB

Mackenzie’s, Dublin. Perfectly located between the Grand Canal and The Liffey, Mackenzie’s is ideal for a pre or post theatre meal when visiting Bord Gáis Theatre. The menu had plenty of choice, from fresh hand-cut steaks and woodfired pizzas, to locally sourced fish and vegetarian options, so there was something for everyone in our party. Our server Arina was just delightful; attentive, informative and friendly, and she guided us knowledgeably through the menu, wine and cocktail choices. We started with some Clay Oven Flatbread with Hummus, Harissa-Spiced Chickpeas, and Roasted Red Peppers, some cheesy Cacio e Pepe Arancini on a Spiced Arrabbiata Sauce with Parmesan & Basil Oil, spicy Salt & Chilli Calamari Salad, sprinkled with Hot Sauce, topped with discs of Pickled Daikon, and a warming Leek & Onion Soup. The side dish of Crispy Shoestring Courgette Fries with a Salt & Lemon Pepper Seasoning also made a delicious nibble to accompany our aperitifs. To follow, Beer Battered Cod & Chips with Pesto Peas, a bowl of Prawn & Basil Casarecce Pasta topped with Grilled Jumbo Prawns in a lemony Mascarpone Bisque Sauce, crispy-skinned Fillet of Seabass with a Red Pepper Romesco Sauce smothered in Capers & buttery Toasted Almonds, and a 6oz Steak Tagliata Salad with Rocket, Red Onion, Tomato Salad & Salsa Verde. And we had just enough room to enjoy some cinnamony Sourdough Churros with a Warm Hazelnut Chocolate Dipping Sauce, and a Chocolate Ice Cream Dome with Honeycomb, Cherry, & Vanilla Gelato and Seasonal Fruits. #dublinfood #mackenzies #pretheatre #posttheatre

Rushing to book a restaurant before the opera in the bord gas, early table availability was a must but all our go to places and most places don't open till after pm. After looking at was there, and not far from the venue was a restaurant called Mackenzies in Grand Canal dock. Because to the short notice time about 2 hours before the show at 6:30, we were not expecting a lot going by the photos but the menu had a lot to it. It looked like an American dinner but it was so much more. The service first of all is outstanding, I have not found another restaurant in Dublin with staff so friendly and attentive. The front of house staff are fantastic, the front to an open kitchen and an very relaxed place to talk, enjoy and indulge in some of the best food we have had in Dublin anywhere. From America's trad to Asian spice, from starters to desert, the food was unbelievable. Calamari and Arancini for starters where just the start of a return planning visit already in the making, followed by moak fish and pork loin with apple and bacon crumb. To say this is a spot, if you are heading for a show or just heading in town, this is a fantastic place to start a night and or start a night. We will be back very soon.

Had a fabulous meal here last night. The food & service were amazing. Varied menu with interesting recipes, vegetarian and fish options also. Good value for a varied menu. Would definitely recommend. So good I have booked it for 6 weeks time for a family gathering. Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere, you cannot ask for more.

Mackenzie’s is a fantastic spot — super friendly staff, genuinely amazing service, and delicious food from start to finish. Special shout-out to Aquilino, our bartender, who was absolutely superb. The cocktails are top-tier. Highly recommended 🍸

Lovely restaurant. We were there with our friends and families for my niece's birthday brunch. The atmosphere was great, although my niece didn’t really like their pizza and chips. I had a burger with chips (though the chips were really salty, so I asked for a plain one instead). I loved their cocktails—really amazing. The service wasn’t bad either, except that one of the staff members had a rather rigid facial expression after I called her to place my order. I didn’t feel comfortable asking her for anything else, so I asked someone else instead. But overall, I’d still recommend it—it’s a nice place.

We had a really nice brunch experience today. Food was top notch delicious. Service was excellent was greeted with a smile, every member on staff we encountered were helpful and friendly without being overbearing. No wonder this place was so busy on a sunny Saturday morning. Can’t wait to return.

Sergio was an absolute star in looking after us, going above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience! We were also spoiled in terms of the quality and choice of food and cocktails. They’ll have to drag us out of the place.

I had a lovely time in your restaurant yesterday, everything was second tonone...the food, the service and the atmosphere. Your servers were particularly nice and I noticed their lovely interaction, not only with myself and my dining companion, but also with those at neighbouring tables. They were helpful and attentive. A wonderful dining experience 👌

We went to the restaurant on Saturday night and had an absolutely amazing experience! I want to compliment our waiter, Pedro ! such a sweet and kind young man with a charming smile! He’s an excellent professional, and we’ll definitely be coming back because of him. My thanks also go to the chef and the bar team , everything was impeccable. The food and drinks were simply wonderful!

Delicious food! We got the breakfast platter to share with pancakes and french toast but honestly I could have ordered the whole menu! Everything looked so good! The restaurant had good vibes, a really nice spot for brunch and if the weather is nice the area is nice for a post brunch walk. The staff were really attentive and friendly. It was really easy to make menu substitutions as required.

Is a chame they have taken off the platter from the menu. I brought my family there for my birthday and we were a little disappointed with that but the overall food was very very good, the waitress are so nice and kind, it was still a very good experience and I highly recommend the waffle chicken.

L
Lacastan Moodley

I had a reservation and due to insane traffic, got there 45 minutes after the booking. They did some swapping around with the reservations to give us a table immediately which was highly appreciated. Service was slow, we waited 10 minutes for someone to come take our order and about 30 minutes for our food. Our waitress was really friendly, but just didnt check on us apart from taking our order and bringing our drinks and food. The food itself was good. Pricey, but at least it was good. Nice vibe. Not sure I'd go back. Also do think their cocktail menu is not really wide enough.

N

Lovely atmosphere and service, our servers were the loveliest and made sure we had a great meal. Cocktails are great. Food wise, it is good but nothing exceptional or out of the ordinary. It's a bit on the expensive side for what it is.

We were a group of 9 who went for dinner. The staff was polite and helpful but a bit slow and kept forgetting things. I got beetroot gnocchi, croquettes both of them were OK. Slightly on the bland side. The vegetarian options were not great

Taking a star off on service since I had ordered a non alcoholic cocktail (medically not allowed due to recent surgery) but they gave me an alcoholic one by mistake and I drank some of it unknowingly. They did provide a non alcoholic one upon raising the issue. The food was amazing though and definitely worth visiting for. We all Loved everything!

Lovely place with attentive and always smiley and friendly staff. The pizza and, in general, the food is delicious, well cooked and with excellent ingredients. Generous portions. At brunch, they also offer a great selection of food, with the pancakes and waffles trail being notably famous and incredibly good. It can be a bit noisy during the weekend but considering how big the place is and how many people they can accommodate, it's pretty reasonable and not disturbing.

M
Mark Naylor

Was very quiet when we went but I can imagine it has a very good atmosphere when busy. Service was very good as it was quiet. Main portions were a bit on the small side but were very tasty. The deserts were expensive but large portions. Good location with street parking available.

We had a lovely pre theatre dinner before a show in the Bord Gais. It was very busy so we were sat at the bar. This did not impeded the service in the slightest and in particular Kimto was very kind and attentive. We will definitely be back!

L

Lovely restaurant, cosmos strong and tasty. Dessert fabulous. Main course steak came out within 90 seconds and portions were miserly as was the fish and not overly warm. One onion ring with steak , who does that.Sneaky suspicion food is pre -cooked. Pity , this could be great.

Pretty ambience. Very good staff. The food is very average. The location is good near the grand canal docks. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. The alcohol menu is quite decent. Food menu is decent size. Easy to pick what to eat then getting confused.

I had been here a couple of months ago and had a fantastic vegan spiced cauliflower salad unfortunately today's menu was much smaller with very little vegetarian options. I ordered a vegetarian caeser salad which was basically a plate of lettuce, some croutons and parmesan. I was charged the full price of the chicken caeser salad dish of €19.70. When I queried this I was told the computer only takes the full price of the meals. Very disappointing menu and pricing! The staff were very friendly, service was very slow but we had plenty of time so it was enjoyable to sit and relax. Unfortunately I didn't think of taking a photo of my lettuce dish, it will be my last visit there.

Went for a festive family lunch and we were seated in this kind of annex overflow area near the toilets door. That part was shabby. The other area nearer to the bar has more decor ambience and with lots of smaller tables that were set for dinner but empty. After being given well handled menus, the first question ‘ would you like tap water?’ lol 😂 Food menu was limited mainly brunch or fish and chips or a burger or pizza. I ordered a pizza it was ok bit burnt on the edges. The Baileys coffee was barely warm and no coffee. Not sure I didn’t finish it, I think it tasted like baileys and single poured cream on top of a barely warm whiskey and water. The lemon meringue cheesecake was too cold and firm to taste or enjoy the different textures.

I visited this restaurant two years ago and had a great experience. The place was busy, the food was excellent, and their French toast platter was memorable. That’s why I came back — but this time was extremely disappointing. First of all, the French toast platter is no longer available, so we ordered the individual French toast and pancakes instead. Unfortunately, both dishes were really poorly made. French Toast: • Very dry and tough; • Topped with an odd mix of cheap-tasting peanut butter and a white cream that didn’t blend well at all; • The flavors felt random and mismatched, nothing like proper French toast. Pancakes: • Drenched in syrup to the point of being overwhelmingly sweet; • The pancakes themselves were sticky and dense, not fluffy at all; • The texture felt almost undercooked. Overall, the quality has gone downhill compared to my visit two years ago. With the current taste and presentation, it’s definitely not worth the price. Sadly, I won’t be coming back.

I came here with my girlfriend for a dinner. For our main course we had ordered the steak and a pizza. We watched many customers who came into the restaurant after us receive their main courses before us which was already strange, however after a very very long wait our food finally arrived stone cold. I’m not exaggerating when I say that our food was so cold it was as if it had been forgotten somewhere for that 30-40 minutes we were waiting. I called a waiter over and had him take our food away to heat it up cause it was disgraceful and another waiter came and returned the stone cold food right back to us without it being reheated. I had to physically get up and find yet another waiter to heat our food up and which at that point I was very fed up with the restaurant as I didn’t expect it to be so poor. The service here was also very poor, a waiter only came to our table one time to take our order and the 2 times to bring our food. I had to stand up and ask for tap water after watching the waiter offer every other table water besides ours. I’m not sure if we were being treated worse than other customers due to our younger age or our race but it was an awful experience regardless. I can’t believe I had to pay for this experience and food, and my girlfriend was also left very upset. We will not be returning here ever.

We recently visited for lunch and ordered the salt and chilli calamari and harissa hummus as starters. Unfortunately the calamari was far too salty for our taste, which made it difficult to enjoy. For mains we had the cheeseburger and the aubergine chicken pasta. Both were decent, but neither stood out in terms of flavour While the service was quick, we did notice that no one checked in to see how our meal was going, which we feel would have made the experience more attentive. Having been here a few times before, this visit left us a bit disappointed.

J
Jackson Guasti

My friends and I had lunch at this place today. The venue is fine and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, I ordered the picanha and it was very disappointing. It was easily the worst meat I’ve ever had in my life - small, dry, burnt, and tasteless. Whoever prepared it clearly has no understanding of how to cook good beef. A colleague of mine ordered a different cut of beef and had similar complaints. Overall, the food is very average, nothing special, and it definitely doesn’t justify the price. The best thing we had were the sweet potato fries, which says a lot about the overall food quality.

B
B S

We visited this restaurant for my birthday, which my boyfriend had arranged. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. He ordered the picanha steak with fries and calamari fries, while I chose the steak salad with baby potatoes. Both steaks were chewy like rubber and completely tasteless. The fries were dripping with oil and tasted awful, and the baby potatoes were just as bad. The calamari fries on my boyfriend’s plate were the worst I’ve ever seen—extremely greasy and unappetizing. The place was empty when we arrived, which raised some suspicion, but I didn’t expect it to be this terrible. We asked for a birthday cake, but they didn’t have any special cakes for occasions, so we settled for a New York cheesecake. It was the only thing we enjoyed and tasted decent. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially for special occasions. The food was terrible, and the experience was far from special

A
A NN

The staff are quick and very helpful, but the food isn’t great. I ordered the chicken supreme with arrabbiata sauce and gnocchi, the chicken was good but the sauce was tasteless. I had to season it myself and I asked for extra Parmesan to add to the sauce, and they charged for the Parmesan on the bill, I’ve never seen that in a restaurant and it’s bad form to cover bad cooking. We also ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail and they gave us an alcoholic one. The pizza is good, but if you’re not getting a quick pizza then I wouldn’t recommend it.

R
Robin Piggy

Extremely disappointed! I've been here twice before. The first time, the French toast platter blew my partner and me away, leaving us eager to return. But when we returned this time, the staff informed us the platter had been removed from the menu. Thinking the individual portions might still be decent, we sat down to order. First, we noticed the prices weren't exactly competitive compared to other French toast spots. But what disappointed us most—the flavor had completely changed! Yes! Even the preparation method was entirely different! We really miss the old platter!
