Avis sur Amakara Dublin
Excellent Japanese food. My salmon was well cooked, tasty and a very generous portion of rice. Good value for the price, generous portions of entrees. Highly recommend this place.
I really enjoyed my visit to Amakara Dublin. The food quality was consistently impressive — everything tasted fresh and didn’t have any fishy smell, which is a big plus for sushi. ❤️ Absolutely loved these — Miso Soup, jalapeño margarita, chicken wings, scallop paradise sushi. Out of everything I tried, the miso soup was my biggest love. It was comforting, perfectly balanced in flavor, and honestly the kind of starter that makes you want to order a second bowl (which I did). ⭐ Other Dishes I Loved The jalapeño margarita was refreshing with a nice spicy kick, while the scallop paradise sushi was another standout for its fresh seafood taste. The chicken wings were also very well done, crispy outside and juicy inside. 👍 Good Supporting Dishes The avocado-mango roll, tempura asparagus roll, and grilled shishito peppers were all solid choices if you want reliable, tasty sides. 🌽 Minor Disappointment The grilled corn was the only item that didn’t fully impress. The flavor was fine, but the texture was slightly sticky and less enjoyable compared to the other dishes. 💬 Service & Overall Experience Service was super nice and friendly. The restaurant maintains good food hygiene and quality. ❤️ Final Verdict Highly recommended if you love sushi. If you visit, definitely don’t skip the miso soup, its a must have.
Great spot for a business lunch. Fresh, professional sushi. Great selection. Service was spotty. Atmosphere felt a bit like a hotel lobby. Suburban. If the location works for you, you can't go wrong here. Also, looks like a fun after work spot.
The overall rating currently doesn't do this place justice. We ordered multiple appetizers and sushi rolls. The service was extremely fast and the food was out of this world good. Bummer they don't allow reservations, but we only had to wait 15 minutes for a party of six during peak dining hours on a weeknight.
New remark. — If you haven’t tried it yet, the grilled edamame is a must—it’s absolutely delicious and unforgettable. Be warned, though: once you’ve had it here, every other sushi restaurant’s warm salted edamame will will disappoint you. Nothing else quite matches the flavor of the grilled edamame. - This sushi restaurant serves food so fresh you almost feel guilty eating it—like you just robbed a fish of its retirement plan. Every roll is carefully put together, which is comforting, because nothing ruins an evening faster than sloppy raw fish. Even the “safe” choices, like a California roll, taste disturbingly good for something invented so people wouldn’t panic about seaweed. I’ll admit, I’m not a sushi expert. My talent stops at the rolls. But even I can see this place is on another level. The specialty rolls that come out from behind the bar look like decadent funeral arrangements for fish—extravagant, dramatic, and almost too beautiful to eat. Almost. The chefs clearly take pride in their work, crafting plates that look like edible art and taste like a last meal request done right. Whether you’re the type who clings to spicy tuna for dear life or you’re adventurous enough to order something that looks like it could bite back, this place delivers. Think of it as the perfect spot to celebrate life while quietly acknowledging you’re eating something that very recently had one.
Definitely some of the best sushi i have had in the east bay and the drinks are no joke either. Its expensive but everyone deserves a treat once in a while. I have been a couple times and my absolute favorites are the traditional sushi rolls (like tekka maki) and the nigiri but everything I have had is yummy... Believe it or not i ate all of the pictured food on my own haha Edit - came here again recently. Still excellent. Tried some new stuff and loved it all.
The presentation was impeccable, and the flavors were harmoniously balanced. Each dish was fresh, savory, and profoundly gratifying. Every item we selected was served at the optimal moment, featuring rich textures and bold seasonings that exemplify the kitchen's meticulous craftsmanship. The ambiance was lively yet refined, creating a sense of occasion without crossing into formality. This establishment distinguishes itself prominently among the Japanese restaurants in the East Bay.
The quality here is just so apparent to the food, staff, and right down to the napkins. We randomly chose this restaurant so I did not expect it to be this stinkin good y’all!!! The miso soup alone has so much flavor I could eat that every single day! It was rich and silky like excuse me?!?! Then my husband and I shared the Mother’s Day pork belly which again was insanely flavorful. My husband had the udon noodles with a shrimp tempura roll which he loved. We both ordered Mother’s Day menu drinks that were extremely well made and tastey. I took my spider roll home because I was too full but I just know it’ll be as good as everything else today. We sat at the sushi bar with Nicolas as our waiter today. He was the right amount of attentive and made our experience here. 10/10. This will definitely be our new date spot literally no contest. I also want to add a shout out the the sushi makers at the bar! They were so fun having amazing energy.
Amakara in Dublin is a consistently solid choice for sushi and ramen lovers in the Tri-Valley area. The service is quick and efficient, even during peak hours, which makes the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. We arrived around closing time (they shut down by 9 PM), and things were winding down, but earlier in the evening, it’s bustling with energy and usually packed, so plan accordingly. The sushi rolls are fresh, creative, and beautifully presented. We tried one of their signature rolls topped with jalapeños and spicy mayo, it had the perfect kick and was packed with flavor. The ramen was hearty and full of fresh greens, seaweed, and a rich broth that really hit the spot. The menu is extensive, with a good variety of traditional and American original rolls. The ambiance is modern, clean, and welcoming, with a spacious layout that includes a sushi bar and large dining area. There’s also a cozy bar area with TVs, making it a great spot for casual dinners or date nights. A quick tip: parking is tucked away behind the restaurant, which might not be obvious at first glance, so don’t worry there is street parking as well. Overall, Amakara delivers on quality, speed, and atmosphere. It’s definitely one of the best sushi spots in Dublin. Whether you’re dropping in for a quick bite or a full dinner, you won’t be disappointed!
The food here is absolutely amazing. I got to sit at the sushi bar and it was amazing getting to see them cook and prepare. Make sure you have a reservation or get there early if you want to sit down cuz it is packed. A little bit of time it takes to prepare the roles does take time so do not expect your roles to come out real fast. But everything was amazing I got the Hawaiian roll it tastes amazing and pineapple and bacon on sushi is amazing. Then I got the Italian roll and the basal base was great. Really great restaurant please go check out.
Expensive yet worth every penny! The sushi, appetizers, and drinks were all delicious and we ate every last bite. It was my first time trying Takoyaki and man, I would order it again and again. Just be aware that it is a small-ish restaurant and very popular so you’d expect a decent wait time. We put ourselves on the waitlist and were told about an hour but got in much earlier.
I had a really nice time at Amakara. The sushi selection is fantastic, and their wings are seriously awesome! It’s a lively spot, but still very kid-friendly, which was a big plus for us. The staff were super friendly and the service was spot on. All in all, a great place to enjoy a meal with the family. Definitely worth a visit!
I finished four glasses of water, their water is really good and does not have the tap water taste that some other restaurants’ waters have. It also has a slight sweet aftertaste. Their food is always delicious, like the name of the restaurant suggests, which describes the balance of sweetness and saltiness in Japanese. Their plating is beautiful and their portions are pretty big. Likewise, their service is also great but since they are often very busy, the waiters do fewer check-ins. The only downside would be the long wait times, which are reasonable for the quality and value of the restaurant, which are excellent. I would recommend getting on the Yelp waitlist or checking it 30 minutes before you plan to arrive or maybe earlier depending on the day (you have to be within 5 miles of the restaurant to waitlist) and check-in when you arrive. Overall, I definitely would recommend this restaurant.
This is my favorite place, where the most delicious rolls and sushi are prepared. The service is always fast and the food is fresh. Never had a bad meal when I came to Amakara restaurant. Last time I ordered the tempura ice cream dessert and it was perfect. The portion was large, one was enough for two of us. Parking is available across the street from Amacar.
This was my first time eating in Amakara. I must say, I got there about 30 minutes after it opened, and the wait to be seated was already at 20-30 minutes long. The restaurant itself was spacious but crowded and packed to have only been open for 30 minutes (1130am). When I was finally seated, it did not take the waitress long at all to come take my order. I tried the Dragon Sushi Roll with a Lunch size Spicy Ramon (I added pork) and a glass of lemonade. It took about 10 minutes to get my food, which in my opinion was pretty quickly compared to how busy the place was. The presentation was definitely what you would come to expect for an establishment that considers itself to be upscale. The price was right in the range that you would expect sushi to be in ($20 per sushi future. The ramen was a full-size bowl and not a half size (which is what I was expecting). It was so much food that I couldn't finish the entire meal. I will definitely eat there again in the near future.
Everything is amazing. The grilled edamame are to die for! Also love the bao buns! My favorite restaurant in the Bay Area

Still a win for me! Note: all parties must be there to be seated so lie to your late friends 😅 Now for the food: Beef wrapped asparagus: perfectly balanced savory to acidic flavors Tako salad: this was a miss for me, was wayyyyyyy too salty, I had to take my friend's rice to eat it with Lemon salmon roll: fresh and citrus taste Grilled edamame always a must! Maitake mushrooms make a great side! Tried a few drinks off their summer menu, Calipso something , good but was a little sweet for me. Friend got the espresso martini made with vodka and has a great ratio of foam.
Probably the best sushi in town. There’s always a long line during dinner time, so we usually opt in for lunch. Grilled edamame is a must here. And if you like sashimi, then go for chirashi. And if you’re a ramen person, try their dry ramen. Sooo good! Parking can be a problem, but you can find some available spots inside the structure.
We came here for the first time for my birthday. No parking lot so we parked in the nearby garage. The place was busy so we sat and waited. The sushi was good. He loved the edamame as it was uniquely grilled and seasoned. The ramen was an extra $1 for spicy. It was also different from other ramen places. Not bad, but not a flavor I'd likely crave. The ice cream for my bday was a pleasant treat.

expensive but the food is very tasty. good service and fancy ambiance. the ramen is good, as well as the sushi.
I love the food. The service can improve, it's so busy everyone looks rushed and drinks werent refilled in a timely manner.

We’ve been to Amakara several times, and today was probably our last. We were immediately seated (no wait post-lunch rush on a Saturday at 1pm), but found ourselves sitting for 15+ minutes without any acknowledgment from wait staff or offered any water to our table. We ultimately chose to leave. This review still gets 3 stars though, because when done right regarding food and service, Amakara is amazing, and that had been our experience from the beginning when they were at their original location. However, we felt that things were just not the same for us since the move and continued coming giving Amakara multiple chances.

The waitress seemed annoyed any time I asked a question, which made the whole experience uncomfortable from the start. I did ask for a roll that wasn’t drenched in sauce, but I didn’t expect it to be this bland. The tuna on top was overdone and dry. Will not be coming back.
Sorry, no matter how good the food is, and it was good the last couple of times I was there, nothing compares to good hospitality and a warm welcome. Instead, I got arrogance, and poor customer service from both the hostess and the so called manager. Save me the details about your restaurant policy for having all parties there before being seated. They apply it selectively, and I am not going to lie so that I can be seated. I will go somewhere else. Which is what happened. Got there and was waiting in front of the Wait sign, it seems like forever, when at least 2 parties went by me and joined their friends who were already seated! I was completely ignored for at least 5 minutes with waiters wizzing by with no acknowledgment. And when the waitress finally got there, I told her party of 2. She said wait more until your party arrives, company policy! I refused, no other option given. I knew I was not going to eat there and asked to speak to the manager. She came and told me the same thing, except with the option to wait at the bar. Which I would have taken if I was presented with that in the first place. But I insisted of letting her know how ridiculous this policy of theirs is, and that I was never coming back to this place. At which time she said they have the right to refuse service to anyone and showed me the door! Lame.
