Debbie’s pies are absolutely phenomenal! I’d been searching everywhere for a good pecan pie and stumbled across this place — now it’s a weekly ritual. Every pie I’ve tried has been fresh, perfectly baked, and full of flavor. Highly recommend stopping by… but fair warning, you’ll probably end up coming back every week like I do!

I'll rate Debbie's 5 stars because it is simply a great place for breakfast... a simple diner with great food. I was in town for a wedding and the desk staff at the hotel where I stayed recommended Debbie's. She said, "I've eaten there many times. I recommend it to everyone." The menu is pretty basic, but for me, it has the essentials. Service on my visit was prompt and friendly. Patrons seemed to be primarily locals and parking was convenient. I would ABSOLUTELY eat there again.

5 stars for this magnificence place. This place makes me warm inside, I can taste the love in every bite. The Homestyle food is always very good no matter what I order. The fried steak is amazing and those potatoes. Wow! And the staff is super cool and on point everytime I eat their. I havent tried the pie maybe next time. Oh yeah and the one lady is funny!

Breakfast was delicious and fresh, just what was needed to start my day! The pies are also so good and there's so many options. The burgers looked so good and were huge, I will definitely be back for lunch! Lastly, the staff was so sweet and helpful. I had what they recommended and it did not disappoint.

Accessibility: there are a few accessible/disabled parking spots available but they are not directly in front of this store, they are in front of the stores next door, and they were all taken when I came. If you cannot get one of these spots it might be challenging because the parking lot is always packed. There are ramps to get onto the sidewalk where this parking is, in front of the stores next door, none in front of Debbie's. The door to enter the building is a pull door but you could also wait outside for a waitress to walk by and seat you. There is outside seating in covered shade as well as indoor dining. Experience: I had breakfast here and it was good. The employees were probably the best part because they were very friendly and the waitresses were all very good about coming to check on us. I did not get to try the pie yet but next time! They are also dog friendly; we had our dog sit outside with us, and there was another family with a dog next to us.

Have you ever had a meal so darn good that you want to slap someone? The Patty Melt was very scrumptious, mom had the Chicken Fried Steak, and we took pie to go. I saw a guy across from us enjoying their Fish-and-Chips. It looked so good I wanted to reach over and try it, but refrained from my rude impulse. Guess I’ll just have to return to order it myself. The plates are filled and they are not stingy on the quantity of food. It matched the quality! I saw a plate of waffles pass by that took my breath away. Oh hell yeah, I gotta return to try that too. The waffles filled the circular plate and were piled up with whipped cream and strawberries like I have never seen before. The woman that ordered it was able to put away half of it, with the rest to go. The plates passing by made me make a mental note that we have to return at least 6 more times to try out more of the menu. And return we will do. The food is wholesome and made so good you’ll think you visited one of those country kitchens where food is made with true passion. Made with care. Served like they really want to satisfy your palate. And they do. They satisfy your palate so that you’ll return and write a 5 star review. If I could give them 10 stars, I certainly would. Did I mention the pie? I got Dutch Apple and mom got Boysenberry. Oh Marie Callender, you’ve met your match! This lil hole in the wall business was quickly filling up as we ate. Many were return customers, which is its own testimony itself. We are amongst them. We appreciate good food and respect quality service. At Debbie’s you get both!

Cute little breakfast spot in San Marcos. The Santi's Special was my favorite, along with the Chocolate Chip Pecan pie. The Santi's Special was full of flavor, and a filling breakfast.

Food was delicious and served fast and hot. The reuben and fries were a tad salty, definitely due to the sauerkraut and seasoning. Other plates with scrambled eggs and French toast were pleasant. We have dined here several times over the years. One day we will order a whole pie - they look fantastic.

Nice boutique restaurant space with old timey flair. Ordered the Nick’s Omelette and a pancake. The food was decent. Clean dining area, spacious and easy going wait staff.

I had the beet salad with grilled chicken and blue-cheese dressing. Salad was fresh and pretty. The dressing was generic and I would have loved pickled onions or pickled beets in this, but it was very good despite the lack of some acid to balance the sweetness of the cranberries. Pies looked great, but I wish the strawberry rhubarb didn’t have a cinnamon oat topping. The flavors didn’t mesh for me personally. The Chocolate creme pie looks great and was a nice consistency. The ambiance was easy going and not in any kind of rush. Christian soft rock was the musical flavor of the day. I don’t know if that is everyday, but the volume was a bit much for just a few people in the restaurant at the end of the lunch rush. Service was very nice and polite, and if they didn't have an answer for my questions then they were comfortable checking into it for me. Overall, a place I will come back for breakfast to check out, but maybe not for pie.

Great breakfast spot in San Marcos. Stopped by here a few times for the delicious pies but this time around I had breakfast. Service was good and so was the food. When you walk in you'll see a podium on the right. If you walk all the way in to the cashier, you've gone to far. The restaurant itself is a pretty good size amd the decor just makes you feel like you're in a country home. Food: •House Special with Kielbasa Sausage, Eggs, 1 Pancake and Fruit •Corned Beef Benedict The food was cooked to my liking and I would highly recommend Debbies Restaurant if you're in the area.

I can't really fault the service as there was only one server there, it's not a huge spot to eat at. The food is good. I got the house corn beef breakfast meal with hash browns, scrambled eggs, and biscuit. I'm real picky when it comes to biscuits and their style for biscuits didn't appeal to me, and wasn't a fan of the gravy either. I tried two of the pies (boysenberry/apple & pummpkin/pecan). I'm not a fan of their pie crust, and though they have a good selection of pies neither were of great interests for my liking, as I like a flakey pie crust (Mom's Pie Shop in Winola or Julian or Marie Callender's are crusts I like). They were average as far as taste and textures go for me.

Scrapbook Series, Part 5 “Black Friday”, “Small Business Saturday”, “Cyber Monday”, and “Giving Tuesday.” Congratulations, you’ve now survived all of them once again this year! 🙌 Speaking of supporting small businesses, Cathie’s scrapbook lead us to Debbie’s Restaurant & Pie Shoppe this month. While clearly their pies are a focal point for them, they also serve both breakfast and lunch (but they close at 3:00 p.m. each day). We sampled a slice of the Dutch Apple Crunch (adding a little ice cream on the side). Although it was pretty good, we think the draw here is actually the people. We found all 3 employees that we interacted with during our visit to be friendly and willing to engage in our conversations and share some laughter with us. If you are able to visit by December 11th, be sure to consider contributing to their 13th Annual “PJ Angels” Program. We may now have officially entered the holiday season, but collecting pajamas for needy children affected by personal hardship and/or homeless is a worthy effort that we support no matter the time of year. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #sanmarcospies #pjangels

My mother-in-law loves coming here and has been a client for years. Personally, I do not understand how they are still in business. Every time we come, they do not have any of the pies that are listed. They usually have one Server running around giving mediocre service. Today I stopped by to pick up a favorite meal of my mom’s to take to her as she is receiving chemo and does not have the energy to go out. I ordered a piece of chocolate cream pie as they were out of all other cream pies. As I was standing at the cashier stand paying for my to go order a waitress came and took the last piece of chocolate cream pie that I had just ordered. The cashier had to remove it from my to go order instead of saying to the server no sorry that piece has been sold. Don’t waste your time coming to this small outdated overpriced restaurant.

I traveled from San Diego to check this place out. First, it took 30 minutes for the food to be served when the place was empty. They served us raw fish. The only acceptable thing was the coffee—delicious. And the waitress's service was exceptional. And the burger I ordered, well, let's not even talk about it.

Decided to give this place a try today. We ordered the Turkey Club and the fried chicken steak. Both our meals were very unsatisfying and kinda gross. The Turkey club was dry all the way through, no moistness to the bread or the meat. Most disappointing was the pie dough was undercooked and still raw. We will not be returning.

I paid $24.65 for this awful pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving! It was embarrassing even showing and serving this to my guests! Unbelievable. There was barely even any pumpkin filling up the pie crust.
