Fantastic restaurant! Food and service are great. Upscale but not pretentious. Italian, steaks, seafood all good. Gets busy on the weekends, so rec reservations. Perfect date place. Daily specials available.
My friends and I had a get together there this week past weekend with 25 people to remember our friend who had just passed away. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had a small private room and the staff was extraordinary. The head waiter took table pictures for us and the owner/manager went out of his way to take a group picture in the lobby, even though the restaurant was closing. I would highly recommend LouCas!
This what's my first visit to this dining establishment. I was only in town for the weekend. The food was absolutely delicious. The baby lamb chops we're perfectly seasoned and cooked. The pumpkin cheesecake was good but presentation could have used some addition such as: a drizzle of caramel or a dollop of whipcreametc. Our server Alyssa what's amazing!
Great food and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. We ordered the Ny sirloin steak and pasta, delicious!!
Had a great experience dining at Loucas in Edison. The service was attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in, and the appetizers were absolutely superb — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ambiance was also very pleasant, creating a great atmosphere for a night out. Everything was going well until my entrée. I ordered the tomahawk steak medium rare, but unfortunately it came out much too rare for my liking. Given how expensive the cut is, I chose not to send it back, but it definitely took away from an otherwise excellent meal. Had the steak been cooked to the requested temperature, this would have easily been a 5-star experience. Still, I’d return again — just might try something else next time for the main course.
Great food and good service. Enjoyed it. I had chicken breast francese. Delicious.
We were invited today to a retirement party of approx 40 people. It’s byob. So the hosts had wine and beer etc. There was so much to eat before the entree came. We had a warm roll with butter. Calamari & sauce. Eggplant Rollatini . Caprice salad. Choice of salad or Caesar salad. Penne pasta in Vodka sauce. Then there were the entrees. I’m vegetarian so there wasn’t a choice but the waiter said I could have more pasta in a vodka sauce which he packed for me. It was huge. My husband had chicken parm and didn’t like it because he said it tasted like it was defrosted. Choice of dessert. Cheesecake was chosen and the retirement cake served with it. We had a private room for 3 hours. The staff was magnificent. I highly recommend them. I wish I took pictures of the food. But too busy chatting 😁
Anniversary early dinner and we were treated like royalty. Delicious appetizers and wonderful entrees were served, but we managed to save space for dessert. What a great day we enjoyed at LouCas!!! PS- Don’t forget- it’s BYOB!!!
Such a great experience! There’s a reason why you need a reservation here. Everything tastes so good. The seafood is fresh! The portions are massive and so worth the price. I definitely want to come back to try more of their appetizers
Stopped by and tried this restaurant for the first time and I was impressed! The portions are delicious and big! I will definitely be returning here!
Great experience with LouCas. The waitress was attentive and the food was awesome. The quantity of food was way beyond my expectation. I had to take food home as I ordered much more than I can eat. I would recommend one main course and sharing appetizer(s). The grilled baby lamb chop and hot antipasto for two was my favorite dishes. Will definitely visit again!
Great Italian food with exceptional customer service. We went last Friday and it was so packed, however we didn’t wait much till the hostess sat us down (we had a reservation). Our waiter Mohammed was very polite and his service was on point. Food was delicious and in big portions. Definitely will come back again with more friends. Note: The hot Antipasto was the best 🥰
Great experience all around. Menu is diverse enough so that there's something for everyone in the party. The cold seafood appetizer was fantastic, I would probably come back just to only order it haha. I had the Seafood fra diavolo which was delicious. Family enjoyed their meals as well. Staff was friendly & our waiter was very knowledgeable & accomodating.
A friend of mine and I made reservations at LouCas to celebrate a special date. We had a nice meal with entrées, main dishes and desserts. Everything was excellent, and the lady who was our waiter went out of her way to take care of us. A dinner that turned into a great experience.

We came here looking for a more fine dining experience to celebrate my dad's birthday and it was everything we hoped for and more. My favorite part? We sat here and ate for as long as it took us (3 hours!) They spaced everything out and gave us so much time in between meals to relax, hang out and talk (and of course, to eat and digest) and it was perfect. We didn't feel rushed, our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful, the seafood was super fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was romantic and comfortable and fancy, in every good way possible. I have nothing bad to say at all and would LOVE to come back. Highly recommended!
Sofia was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, the fish was cooked to perfection light and fluffy inside with a nice light char outside. We had such a wonderful experience we look forward to returning again soon.
What a wonderful dinner at LouCas ! We are here from Florida and we're so fortunate that our friends introduced us to this wonderful restaurant. Food was delicious and our server Melissa was great. Baby Arugula Salad, broiled stuffed shrimp, linguini with white clam sauce , chicken giambotta, lump crab cakes. Highly recommended 👌
5 Star review alert- from the moment our party of 3 walked in, Gigi & Danielle greeted us with warm, inviting smiles, and quickly escorted us to our table. Darnell was our server who was very attentive, friendly, and accommodating to special requests with our dinners. The menu is extensive, plus specials. Something for everyone, and leave room for dessert. Food was very good, portions generous, and felt an exceptional value when the check arrived. BYOB is a plus- wonderful evening all around! Thanks LouCas- will definitely return again!
Our server Daniel went above and beyond for us tonight. Great atmosphere and service, even with a full house. Beautiful plating and extremely fresh flavours.
Went out to dinner last night with good friends and nothing not to like! Upscale Italian, food, service and atmosphere all EXCELLENT! Better make a reservation or u may have a long wait on weekends!!!
Great food, good customer service and a nice simple decor. We had a absolutely amazing service AGAIN!!!
Very popular Italian restaurant in the area. Food was delicious and pretty good service. Tiramisu is a must try. Almost full house for Saturday lunch time.
Celebrated my Mom's birthday for dinner and we each ordered the special, filet stuffed bronzino with crab and lobster which was phenomenal. It came with veggies and mashed potatoes. I'm not big on veggies and asked for risotto and they were very accommodating! I also ordered the rice balls which was the appetizer special and was also delicious!! The bread brought to the table was fresh and hot! You won't be disappointed! We did not make reservations because it was just the two of us and at 4:15PM it was packed. We got lucky and were seated right away however they needed the table back by 5:30PM. Honestly we did not feel rushed and the food came out pretty quickly, fresh and hot! Unfortunately, we were not able to order dessert as we were nearing our end time but we were OK with that since we were stuffed and didn't need the additional calories 😂
Time and again this family restaurant has vowed us over. Even with the menu not changing over the years, it still is as scrumptious as the first time we came here. My favorite for this time was the grilled chicken Layered with Portabella Mushroom, Roasted Peppers and Smoked Mozzarella with a Porcini Mushroom Sauce, my mouth is watering while I’m writing it. Gotta try it for sure!
Started with mozzarella, tomato and roasted pepper salad which set the palette to the delicious entrees. We had ordered the whole grilled branzino, the seafood fra diavolo, and the sirloin steak as our mains and all of the dishes were perfect. Delicious food and brilliant service seems to be their aim and they have done it diligently.
Amazing!! Seriously Amazing !!! 4th time here The specials are out of this world 6 Stars. We just had awesome apps, meal and Deserts! .
One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The seafood was fresh, the grouper was perfectly cooked and buttery. The desserts were to die for. Jasmine was lovely. She was kind, witty and knowledgeable. Over all, very impressed and will be returning soon.
Great italian food. Always a good meal for family parties. I've only been here for parties in the back room. I love the penne a la vodka. We had appetizers, salad, main meal and dessert. The ice cream pie was great, and cheese cake very creamy and delicious.
Amazing Food! We had a wonderful holiday family dinner. Everything was so delicious. The clams casino a must ! Steak cooked to perfection. The service is top notch. A Must Visit !
Really great holiday dinners. LouCas has become a holiday tradition for family and friends. Great for nights out. BYOB is a real money saver and LouCas makes up for it with great food and nice portions. Service is exceptional.
The fresh fish specials of pan seared grouper and jumbo shrimp over risotto were outstanding. Service is always exceptional and the ambiance is always great. Will keep enjoying this neighborhood gem!
This place is not for vegetarians, however, if you are seafood lover then definitely a right spott to visit. Italian cuisine with seafood!!! Well, i tried the alfredo pasta which wasn’t on the menu but made on request followed by dessert. Alfredo pasta rating 8/10, dark chocolate slice of cake 5/10 because taste was good but the slice dry and toasty and not fluffy.
Tucked in the corner of a busy route 27 plaza, loucas is a very family style italian place which serves authentic Italian food. The pastas and the steaks were all very good. The service was excellent and ambiance was very good. Definite recommendation for a family weekend dinner.
An amazingly classy experience. Nice staff and service, the rack of lamb was one of the best I had. Seasoned well and not overcooked. Seafood pasta had lots of seafood and tasty, lots more Italian dishes to be had. BYOB is a plus, and it's a great place to eat for any family event. Best to make a reservation first.
Really liked the food here overall. Service was very professional. They take a few shortcuts here and there with some of the execution, but it's easy to find something on the menu that you will enjoy. Atmosphere is clean, nice, and neat.
Food was delicious and authentic, just a bit expensive 😋. My wife and son shared the tomahawk steak special and was completely impressed. Oh..BYOB if you're interested
Great Italian seafood place. Also great it’s byob
We were at LouCas to celebrate my brother and sister in law's 50th wedding anniversary. It was our second time there for an occasion. We had our own private room with our own waitresses. The appetizers were plentiful. Eggplant Rollatini, Antipasto, Calamari, clams casino, rolls and butter. I had the chicken parmesan with linguine for my entree and cheesecake and coffee for dessert. The food overall was good. I was disappointed with the size of my cheesecake, though. They were all very small, but I seemed to have gotten just a sliver compared to the others. It was delicious, but tiny. The waitresses were very nice. They were kept very busy though. It was a great afternoon.
I got together with a group of friends for dinner. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. The restaurant was byob. We had a private room, and Leaha was our server, and she was great! For dinner, I got the shrimp fra diavolo, and it wasn't spicy but wasn't bad at all. My friends loved their meals as well. We had such a good time!
I heard LouCas used to be fantastic. I was looking forward to finding out. Well, it was good, but not sure I'd return. We had 4 appetizers - fried calamari with tomato sauce was very good. The cold antipasto was decent, the mozzarella w/tomatoes, & roasted peppers wbalsamic drizzle was decent, but the eggplant rollatine wasn't fresh. It seemed to have been reheated, & not freshly made. Small rolls were good. My shrimp scampi over linguine was tasty. My husband said his chicken Parm was just ok. Cake provided for the graduation was fair.
I always love going to Lucas, my favorite Italian restaurant. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is both family-friendly and romantic. The food is amazing, and I'm a big foodie but they always exceed my expectations. The restaurant has the best of everything, but I always forget to take a picture of the food when it arrives.
LouCas delivers a refined Italian dining experience with consistently high-quality food and attentive service. Signature dishes like the seafood fra diavolo and veal parmigiana are crowd favorites, and the portions are generous. The ambiance is warm and upscale, making it a great spot for date nights or special occasions. It can get busy, so reservations are recommended.
Was my first time going there, and quick dinner outing with my kid. She was in the mood for Italian and we decided to try LouCas. Glad we did, food was excellent, and our server Elliot, even though he had just started to work there recently, did a great job serving our table. My daughter kept saying to make sure I tip him well for his great service 👏 😆 Will definitely return! Oh, and it's BYOB, so you can bring your favorite drink!
Food was good, we were a large group that had a family style meal including salads, fish and eggplant parm; all was great
Went into LouCas for dinner. Made a reservation for 7:30 and they were kind enough to seat us when we showed up early for our reservation. The place was fairly packed and as a result the service was a bit rushed. They had a lot of specials that the waiter was very rehearsed on which nice. He was ready to provide a more detailed explanation of all the specials. We each got one sesame roll which was not bad but a member of my party was allergic and they were kind enough to provide a rosemary focaccia alternative. The only downside to that was it didn’t come out until after we received our appetizers. For our appetizers we got stuffed mushrooms and the mango calamari. The calamari was delicious but the mushrooms I recommend skipping. There were only four mushrooms and they were cold when they got out to our table. They weren’t very big and the butter (or butter sauce?) were already solidifying on the plate so that could have safely been skipped. For entrees we got the bolognese, Caesar salad with steak, the eggplant parm, and the clam linguine. The eggplant was more of a quantity over quality kind of dish. It was swimming in the red sauce and cheese so a bit disappointing and the presentation was a bit tough. It has a small bowl of noodles with the same red sauce next to it. The Caesar salad was good and the steamed was cooked to the requested medium rare. The linguine was not bad but nothing astounding. The best dish of the bunch was defined the bolognese, the noodles were perfectly cooked with a good balance of sauce, not too much not too little, and had a really good flavor. One thing I will say is in our reservation we mentioned we had a birthday in our party and if they could discreetly give us a chance to order dessert for our birthday guest but that didn’t happen. If you have any special requests for your party I’d recommend asking your waiter personally. I believe with the amount of people there they were doing their best to turn over tables. For an Italian restaurant I’ve definitely been to worse but I’ve also been to better. That being said it’s a good spot for a bite to eat without much fanfare or frill.
This could be either a 3-star or 4- star experience here. The food is decent for the area, old school new York City like Italian food. We had fish, chicken and steak, ribeye and sirloin. The steaks were on the hard side, and ribeye had too much gristles. The restaurant is a little too old, and needs some make over. We were seated near the waiter station, and the air was full of oil. We left with an unpleasant oil smell all over us. The waiter was very nice. And, the glasses were so dirty and wet. The restaurant needs a lot of attention to details!
“LouCas” - A Menlo Park area slice of history ! So that being said they are firmly rested on their laurels . I had the “ Fra Diavolo “ it was OK. But for 38$ you should get something that worth talking about! All the dinner items were expensive. But that must be the price you lay these days for non nuked eats . The atmosphere brings you back to the days when people were chanting “ Yea Ronnie ! “ obviously the place is way popular, always crowded it must be them laurels . Give it a shot if you need to make money burn, or want to harken back to a time forgotten, otherwise go to a good diner if you can find one these days .
I went to this restaurant because it has decent reviews and it was closest me my location. I was seated outside as I was alone. I looked at the menu and compared it to the photos I saw online and they seem to look appetizing. As I was looking over the menu, the bread came, a small roll. I took a bite with butter and it tasted dry. Sometimes it can happen but I started to order my dinner. I opted for the seafood Fra Diavolo. I must have been on my phone for about 5 mins and the dinner came. I said to the waiter, wow it is too fast. I looked at the pasta and the first thing I noticed was that it had no oil. When I say it has no oil, I mean no oil to sautéed the garlic and the seafood. The dish looks like they boiled everything from the shrimp, calamari, scallops and the pasta of course. There was zero flavor. I added some salt and I added additional salt to the point that I had to stop. This has to be the worst pasta dish I have ever had. In my worst day cooking at home, I did a better job. I had high hopes for this place and never again I will come here. The staff was nice and the place has potential. Whoever the cook was, there is another profession out there for you.
Sat 9/13/2025 I Heard good things about this place so my wife and I went here to see what it was all about. Note: I am not here to bad mouth anyone just giving an honest review. Service excellent Atmosphere excellent Sorry but I have to give an honest review. Appetizers: Fried Calamari (Crispy Calamari served with Marinara Sauce $17.00) review: it was "ok" run of the mill ( to me it was like something out of a box or vendor) Zuppa di Clams (One Dozen Clams or Mussels Sautéed in Olive Oil, Fresh Basil and Plum Tomatoes $16.00) Review.. not really that good it was more of a creamy sauce and something in the sauce was off just did not taste correctly from a normal zuppa di clam type of sauce. Clams were over done "rubbery chewy) note: I all know we like fast service but, this was a busy sat night and both appetizers where on the table in less then 15 min you can tell this stuff was pre- made and tossed together there is no way that this stuff was made to order in that time frame. Main course: Shrimp Fra Diavolo Sautéed in Olive Oil with Fresh Basil in a Spicy Red Sauce over Linguini $33.00 I got the red spicy sauce Review: once again "ok" not really that spicy in fact not at all seafood was over cooked To me it looks like they make pe-make the sauce for the night warm up the pasta then toss it together you can tell because the pastas did not have time to absorb the juices..and the seafood had zero flavor from the sauce. just not what i expect from a high end place like this. Papardella Bolognese Beef,Veal and Pork Ragu finished with Marscarpone Cheese $27.00 review: once again "ok" just had a strange taste not saying it was bad but something was off with the flavoring
