Ive been coming here for over 20 years and Its one of the best Argentinean steak spots in NYC. Even though the price has steadily increased its still worth it. Ive been to all 3 locations and loved them all. My favorite is this one since they have a butcher shop in the place. Their chimichurri sauce is amazing. If you want to try something other then their grilled steaks, I would recommend the Milanesa Napolitana. They make it really good here. Plus, its Leo Messi’s favorite dish, how can you go wrong 😂. The only down side id the service, the older lady is a very good waitress and you wont be disappointed if you get her. Shes the best. I recently got a younger female waitress and she just wasnt attentive or good. But overall, food is 5 stars!!!!

This place is amazing. I have been coming here for years, since it was only a small restaurant, now they have expanded which is great. Customer service is great as well. Its a warm setting, somewhere you can take your family or a date out and have some great wine and delicious steak. I have been to different steak houses but this is probably the best one in Queens. They have very good steak, appetizers, drinks, and desserts. I can't complain about anything here, except that it does take a little longer than some places for your food. For example, if you order a steak at Dallas BBQ your order will probably be ready within 10 mins. Here if you order steak it will take about 20 to 30 minutes depending on how much you ordered, BUT once you get your food you'll know why it took so long! Besides you get some salami and cheese with bread to munch on while you wait. Moreover, its a good place with good people, the owners and staff always show you love when you come in. Keep up the good work guys!

My priority is the flavor in the food a restaurant serves. By that measure, this is clearly the best Argentine restaurant in Queens. Period. (Advice to novices: do NOT forget to drizzle chimichurri on your beef. It makes all the difference in the world.)

what a nice restaurant. We found this restaurant by recommendation without we would not have experience that. Marcelo and his team were so kind. we are absolut meat lovers and for us it was outstanding. After Marcelo's recommendation I tried the special blood sausage - similar to German style and later my son and I shared parrillada de carne - so good. For our 16 years old son it was the best restaurant during the trip. we have had an unforgettable evening. thanks a lot.

Humble around the way restaurant, with top level steak house quality cuts and preparation. May be the best steak I've had in recent history, better than the steaks I've had at some prestigious NYC steak houses (with out being pretentious and overpriced as well).

I absolutely love this place. I've been to many fancy American steak houses, and I simply find the American steak to be bland in taste, aged or not aged. My go to dish here is the skirt steak or entrana. Juicy, flavorful, beefy tasting.

For many years? Myself and my family have been going to the spot on the corner of corona & junction. Tonight they were very crowded, and it was a long wait. So we walked across the street to El Gouchito. Although the spot on the corner, is very good? After going to El Gouchito? This is my new spot. The food was absolutely amazing. The service was fantastic and the prices were great. I think I gained 10 pounds before I walked out of this place. Again? the spot across the street is a fine establishment. But? El Gouchito made themselves some more permanent customers tonight. Thank you very much for the food. It was absolutely delicious. We will be back very soon.

Tried this place for the first time, and it did not disappoint. The service was phenomal and very attentive. The ambiance was cozy and the food was terrific. They offer wine specials until 4:55PM- a bottle of wine for 100$ but ask your server to confirm. And again the picanha was by far the best I have ever had!!!! Must try! I will be returning.

I’ve come to this restaurant for years and have always had a pleasant experience. However, in NO FAULT to the restaurant, we Had an unpleasant experience because of a couple at the table next to us who was complaining to the manager and insulted the waitress to her boyfriend. Manager resolved her issue as best as he could but she was still complaining and making a ruckus. If you see a review about how they “ignored her” and had poor “customer service”, ignore her. The restaurant was completely full and the staff were doing the best they could. 10/10 recommend this restaurant, great food and polite staff.

Gauchito Restaurant in Elmhurst, NY: If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, look no further than Gauchito Restaurant in Elmhurst, NY! From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped by the warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly captures the essence of Argentine charm. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the phenomenal service provided by Agustin. His personal and dedicated approach made us feel like valued guests. Agustin’s suggestions for our meal were spot on, leading us to the incredible Mixed Meats dish, “Parrillada.” It was cooked to perfection, showcasing the rich flavors and quality of the ingredients. To complement our meal, Agustin recommended a Catena Zapata Cabernet Sauvignon, which proved to be an excellent pairing. This wine came from a remarkable vineyard and elevated our dining experience even further. Gauchito is a standout establishment that combines charm, quality, and excellent service. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to indulge in delicious Argentine cuisine. I can't wait to return!

The best traditional Argentinian Steak House in town. Is no surprise as they have a butchershop on premises, you always get the best cuts straight to the grill, right to tour table. If you're not into steaks they also have a great selection of home made argentinian dishes to satisfy any palate. Wine selection goes along with the great dishes and also desserts are very good. In few words friendly service, nice ambience, good wine, and the best Argentinian parrilladas....recommend 💯 percent

This restaurant has two parts a dinette section where meals are quickly prepared for those on the go and an actual sit down area for a formal dinner and they can accommodate large parties. We got there a little after 7 and was able to be seated right away. Within a half hour the restaurant was packed for a Tuesday. I got the churasco skirt steak cooked medium and it was perfect. The Milanese beef with ham and cheese was surprisingly AMAZING. Not knowing what to expect I didn’t go for it but realized it’s definitely a winner. I plan on working my way they this menu as everything ordered was divine!

Fantastic Argentine Parillada at this local Argentine hangout in Corona, Queens. Excellent variety of Argentine beef cuts and a classic parillada with steak, sausage, morcilla (blood sausage) and the offal (sweetbreads, kidney’s and chinchuline), all tasty and excellently done. This place under fine ownership knows how to do Argentine right.

If you’re craving authentic Argentine food, this is the place to be. The meats are spectacular—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—and the appetizers, like provoleta and empanadas, are absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended!

I recently visited El Gauchito and had an arnazing experience. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. For our meal, we started with a beef empanada and a chicken empanada, both of which were delicious. The empanadas were perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and savory filling. Next, we had the camarones al ajillo, which were garlic shrimp served in a flavorful sauce. These were also a hit And paired well with the empanadas. For our main dish, we went with the Parilladas de carne for two, which was a platter of grilled meats served with sides. This was the perfect choice for meat lovers and came with a variety of cuts and flavors. Overall, I highly recommend El Gauchito for anyone looking for authentic Argentine cuisine. The food and service were top-notch and I will definitely be returning for more.

A gem in the middle of queens! I’ve been to several Argentinian steakhouses in NY and this is by far my favorite. In fact, it is the only one I would recommend to anyone. The food is fresh, hot, authentic, juicy, and flavorful. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and full of Argentinian mementos. The restaurant is split up into two sides and the back of the side of the entrance is a small area where you can purchase fresh meat and other Argentine items (Argentine mate bags, hats, tshirts, candy, etc). The other side is fully decorated with souvenirs from different Argentinian provinces. There are also painted tiles around the perimeter of the room of famous Argentinian people. If you are Argentinian or have been to Argentina, you’d likely feel at home in this restaurant. The waiters are friendly, speak Spanish, and give you space/time to enjoy your meal. The menu is beautifully hand drawn and there are many authentic Argentine food options available. Even though this place specializes in meat, there are many vegetarian options available. We ordered the beef milanesa with onion and cheese, the complete parrillada for one person (which came with fries and a mixed salad), and a sifón. Having been to Argentina, one of the things I missed most about Argentina was the sifón. I love a good carbonated water and the sifón has the strongest carbonation I’ve ever had due to the strong bottle material. I couldn’t believe that it was on the menu and I had to order it. Truth be told, it was fun having sifón in NY but it was not the same as the sifón in Argentina. The carbonation was not as strong and was perhaps as weak as some sparkling waters. But, before our food arrived, we were given (on the house!) warm bread with butter and chimichurri sauce on the side as well as this tomato, ham, and cheese in a green sauce as appetizer. The bread was fresh and tasted great with the chimichurri sauce. The chimichurri was tart (but not overly so), herby, and went with everything (you’d best believe I put it on everything we had to eat!). The green sauce on the tomato, ham, and cheese plate was similar in taste to the chimichurri but it was less tart due to the addition of oil and was even more addicting. I believe the green sauce in the appetizer was the same green sauce used in the salad so obviously the salad tasted amazing. The salad had very fresh ingredients and these ingredients are all part of classic authentic Argentine salads. As the sides, the fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside (my favorite kind of fry!). The onion and cheese beef milanesa was good and would pass in Argentina. The beef cutlets were covered in cheese and there were actually two layers of beef cutlet. The beef cutlets could have been made a little thinner but were a good thickness nonetheless. The beef cutlets were tender and not chewy at all. The onion flavor was very strong and perfect for anyone who loves onion. The star of the meal was the parrillada. It had a piece of everything including entraña (skirt), tira de asado (ribs), mollejas (sweetbread), kidney, and several types of chorizo. All of the meats were juicy and cooked well (not overdone but also not uncooked). They retained a nice meat flavor without tasting like a cow. I will say there was a little too much choziro and not enough meat but I’ll forgive it because everything was so good. The chorizo was very flavorful and a little crispy. Also the meats were on a little bbq that kept everything nice and hot. Meat that is hot tastes 100 times better than meat that is cold and this bbq kept everything hot (not just warm but hot) for the entire meal. In fact, after I cut up pieces of chorizo, I would put them back on the bbq so they would sear a little bit. Also, included in the paradilla was several pieces of pickled cauliflower and peppers. The sourness of the pickled vegetables and the pieces of lightly salted meat was heavenly. Due to this lengthy highly positive review, I now know that google has a character limit. If you don’t know by now, I highly recommend this place.

I have been to El Gauchito 1 several times. I discovered it by accident, and I have never stopped coming and bringing friends. We always get the parrillada para dos (sometimes several of them at a time depending on how many friends I brought. The meat is fantastic, the options are endless, the empanadas are to die for, the vibe is super relaxed, and the servers are all lovely. Be prepared to roll yourself home, because you will not be able to stop eating.

Celebrated my son's birthday with dinner for the 1st time here after a rave recommendation-they did NOT disappoint! Eric, our waiter, was super attentive and did his best to make sure we were well taken care of throughout each meal etc. The skirt steaks, vegetables served with a delicious garlic mojo, the yucca fries, the shrimpppp and drinks were delicious and very well executed (skirt steak, served medium was like butter). Can't wait to return for date night : )

My husband’s favorite steak restaurant. Food is great, cooked according to your preference. Service is very good, they always welcome you with an appetizer of cheese and ham. Chimichurri sauce in this place is very tasty. Friendly staff taking good care of their customers. Ambience is nice, music is always on point. Waiting time to be seating is not long at all, most of the time we don’t have to wait for a table. Reasonable prices for the quality of food and service here.

Everything here was delicious. My family and I visited and had the canelones with ternera, asado (morcilla, chorizo, costilla), and tallarines with salsa mixta. For dessert, we got budin de pan, churros con dulce de leche, and vanilla ice cream. Everything came out quickly, the portions were generous, and the prices were great. We’ll definitely be coming back. After eating, we made sure to buy some batata, queso fresco, and alfajores to take home. The atmosphere was amazing and the servers were very friendly.

Like 12 tables in the dining area integrated with a butcher shop. The food was amazing, Eric was our waiter, always on top of his tables, without overreaching, and very attentive. I had the chicken and the steak, second to none, downed with delicious pineapple juice. I highly recommend for meat lovers. They have pasta as well (looks delicious), but i didn't try it. Tres leches was the finishing move, very moist.

I tend to come to El Gauchito for special occasions because beef is expensive and they do it very, very well. I rarely venture beyond the entraña (skirt steak) because it's so good. Seasoned simply, it's fantastic with the chimichurri on the table. Get a glass (or bottle) of malbec and you're near perfection. My only beef (pun intended) is you can't get spinach as your choice of side with your steak. You'll have to order separately with an included potato option if you want the greens.

Both El Gauchito 1 & 2 are a staple in my life. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate the holidays, special occasions or a girls night or even a Friday-after-work meet up spot, you will have a fm and pleasant experience. If you like soccer, a game is most always on, the location in Corona, has soccer related shirts. If you want a quality cut of meat for that special dinner, you will not be disappointed. If you want some delicious sangria this is THE SPOT. The food is superb. Service is excellent and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet the owner and the manager. This place comes highly recommended. I highly recommend the dos tires de asado. Seasoned very well, You can’t go wrong with nothing on the menu.

Had an amazing time for lunch at El Gauchito. We got the parrillada and you could tell the meat was very high quality. However, if you know your meat cuts you could tell that it was not what was advertised—- skirt steak was definetly not the good part of the skirt steak. Still, would definetly come again 😊 Service and ambiance were great too. Still, I prefer buying meat for delivery!

Had the Parrillada para 2, got 2 of these for 8 people. Fed all of us and had left overs. Meat was well made. Tried the empanadas de carne is was good. Tried ensalada Rusa, well made. Tried the Chinculines, I wasn't a fan but my fam did like it. They bring bread and some cheese and meats for you to eat, that was good, I liked that from them. 2 parrilladas $140, chinculines, 3 sodas, 2 litro de sangria $65, 1 kids chicken meal. 7 adults, 2 kids. $358 with tip

I ate some pasta and the mousse was incredible! The pina colada was bomb. Definitely going here again.

Tons of fresh meat including blood sausage, maduro, rice and beans. How could that ever be a bad dinner? I went on a Saturday night at 8pm. The wait was only 5 minutes for 2 people to be seated. The service was friendly, but a little slow. The service is similar to how it is in Europe if you've ever been.

Good clean Argentinian steak house. Eat your fill with good wine without busting your wallet. Sells fresh meats on the other side too!

The food was good the service was good. The dissatisfaction came from when we found a cockroach after the waitress picked up the plates. I called the manager and his response was “o well that happens all the time.” Having spent more than $300, I was expecting an apology, and hoping maybe the dessert would get comped. Neither of those things happened. Needless to say it was upsetting and will probably be looking elsewhere for my next Argentinian grill fix.

The food was really good, an authentic argentinan experience. The meat and service were really good. There was a hidden credit card fee that the waiter didn't advise us of until after our payment was processed, that left a sour taste in our mouths, which is the main reason this restraunt doesn't deserve 5 stars. It would be nice if we were at least told of the fee so we could make a decision on if we wanted to pay it or consider other options.

The food was good. The service was good. I would have given this place a better rating but when we were done eating, a small roach crawled on our table. My daughter smashed it with a napkin. We just paid and left. Yuck!

I went to dinner with a friend after a year and a half due to COVID. The food was still good however the service was terrible. There was ONLY 1 waitress taking care of the entire restaurant. They had 2 other runners which barely helped her. The owners were just standing around instead of helping out. I remember when the service used to be wonderful and inviting but now it’s not worth eating at the restaurant. Might as well order take out and save yourself the headache of a long wait.

The service was disappointing I except great customer service for a four star restaurant! First the owner disrespected my husband because he didn’t have a fancy shirt on and told him to educate himself as a man! Very rude for someone he doesn’t know and for someone spending money at his restaurant. My husband recommended this place and yet he was met with a rude comment. Second he lied about his food being fresh I ordered rice and beans and mash potatoes as side for my steak and was disappointed at the quality Mashed potatoes had no flavor and tasted out of a packet while the rice was wet and mushy as if it was over cooked or out of a can! Third, when asking if there was a possibility to change to something that doesn’t cause much inconvenience like veggies or fries the waiter said it wasn’t possible to change sides because he thought it was good and cooked fine even after I said it was tasteless and I wouldn’t be able to eat it because I didn’t like it. He Says he wasn’t allowed to do anything just because I don’t like the food. As a man of the restaurant I would except the owner to teach his employees that customers are always right I don’t blame the waiter for following the rules his boss gave him but I would have excepted the owner to allow a change if we as guest are paying their food we want to pay for some thing we like.

ONE OF THE WORST RESTAURANTS I HAVE EVER BEEN IN! I don’t usually write reviews for places but this place… is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been in, in my 15 years of living in Queens. The food was given to us cold and about 40 minute after we had ordered it. The servers were very rude and customer service was the absolute worst!! I had felt a huge tension of racism going around this place and would like my refund back.

Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Went here not too long ago. Food was ok, but that's not the problem. The problem was the people attending us. They're all con artists who speak in a manner to make you spend more money. I asked for a glass of water to which the woman attending us replied they couldn't do that. She did it so I would pay for the bottle as opposed to getting a free glass of water. Mind you every establishment in NYC is required to give you a cup of water if you ask for it. So then I ordered my tomahawk steak. The menu said it was 60$. They said it can feed 2 people so I decided to get it. They didn't clarify and charged me 120$. I asked for it to be cooked medium and It came out practically blue. It was inedible. The steak came with 1 side. The lady asked if I wanted rice and beans to which I replied sure. They charged me extra for an extra side. The way she spoke made it seem like rice and beans were one side. I've been to many restaurants all over nyc. From 5 star high end expensive places to local Chinese food spots. This had to be the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. Full of scammers. Be cautious. This establishment chooses profits over people

Ordered takeout steak for two. They gave us pork. As Muslims we cannot eat pork nor eat meat that has touched pork, so we called them and they told us they would not recieve the order back even tho we merely opened it, haven't even touched it ! 70 dollars down the drain. Awful place never again.

You need to start packing your food better. You're using what people uses as garbage bags to pack your food, and the plate moves around when delivered and all the liquid just drops into the bag. Start using paper bags where the food will not tilt when ordered via delivery. Your food costs a lot of money, and I don't mind paying it, but start doing your jobs better. Management or ownership needs to be looking at how the food is being packaged for delivery, because this is totally unnacceptable.

I order from El Gauchito 1 through DoorDash or Uber Eats from time to time. The main reason I keep coming back is that the food is good for the price, usually around $50 plus delivery. The quality is there. That said, the delivery packaging is a real issue and it’s the one thing holding me back from ordering more often. The thin black “thank you” bags are not sturdy enough for delivery and frequently allow food to shift and spill during transport. This is especially problematic since many deliveries are done by bicycle, where road bumps cause containers to tip and liquids to leak. In my experience, spills happen most of the time, not occasionally. This could be greatly improved with more robust packaging. Even something simple like adding cardboard layers to keep containers flat and secure would make a big difference. If this issue were addressed, I would gladly update my review and order much more frequently. I’m confident I’m not the only customer who has run into this problem. The food deserves better delivery presentation.

I used to come here often whenever I wanted Argentinian food, but my last visit was very disappointing, especially because of the service. The server had no charisma and when I asked if I could get a small side of guacamole for the yuca fries, she never mentioned that they only offer a full chips-and-guacamole order. She brought the large order out after we had already finished eating, and I told her I hadn’t ordered that. Then someone who appeared to be a manager came to the table and spoke to me in a very rude and unprofessional way, saying the server didn’t need to explain anything because it was “obvious.” His tone felt unusually aggressive, and overall the situation made me very uncomfortable. This is not how you treat customers. I hope the service improves.
