Best Experience! Friendly staff, quality food and great customer service. Will be coming back! Today’s special was panes con pollo! Thought I had to wait until Thanksgiving but to my surprise it came early! Happy we came across this little gem in Redwood City!
Beautiful pupusas. The Loroco with, wait for it, Loroco herb is bright and savory. The Mañanera comes with a homemade tomato sauce that provides a great finish on top to the two sunny side up eggs over pupusas. The place is staffed by people that care. Yum but don’t change when you get famous.
The restaurant is very clean, with a pleasant atmosphere and music at a comfortable volume. I was surprised with a complimentary starter of fried tortillas with refried beans that tasted fresh and high quality. The coffee was served with milk in an adorable and aesthetically pleasing presentation. The pupusas were incredibly delicious, bursting with flavor. The staff's attention was excellent. I believe it’s better to have a small menu with a well-executed selection of recipes than an extensive menu typical of chain restaurants, filled with frozen ingredients and bland dishes.
This was a pleasant surprise. The menu is limited obviously but everything on it is delicious. We will definitely be back. For three people to have dinner with an appetizer and a beer was around $50. What a value. I will attach a recent copy of the menu
Had a great time at Comalito! The pupusas were delicious and everything was flavored well and was crisp and fresh. We got complimentary tortilla fries, and ordered Yucca fries, Pastelitos, the salad, and 3 pupusas (Revuelta, Ajo y queso, and Jalapeno y queso). The ajo y queso was particularly delicious, and everything overall was great. The only minor piece of criticism I had was that overall, there could've been just a bit more cheese in the pupusas. For ~30 dollars, we had a full meal for 2 + leftovers, very reasonable! We wanted to get dessert but were so full by the end that we decided we would come back another time and order less to have room for it. Definitely looking forward to it!
If you like el Salvadorian food this place is for you. If you like South American food just stop in and enjoy. All the food is fresh and the flavors explode in your mouth. I've already been here twice and have plans to go back. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. Two drawbacks, the hours are short, hopefully they'll be extended as the restaurant closes at 7 and they don't have a liquor license yet, coming I'm told.
Okay, if you are obsessed with pupusas, you have to come here. If you're not yet obsessed with pupusas, or you've never even heard of them, you have to come here. I love how simple their menu is, they don't try to do everything, they just do pupusas, and they are amazing!!! Please come out and support this new restaurant. The service is wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. Place is also very cute.
Great new Salvadorean restaurant. Focused mainly on pupusas and a few sides and salvadorean drinks. We enjoyed the pupusas and Ensalada drink--everything was delicious and great. As a Salvadorean, I am picky with my pupusas - I am planning to come back to this place. As I tell my friends, pupusas are made fresh, so there is usually a bit of wait, but that is normal. The place is small and welcoming. What amazed me was the pupusa prices were very affordable compared to other places. I am looking forward to coming here regularly.
This place is amazing!! It’s beautifully renovated and clean. Nice sit down restaurant with very good service. The pupusas are SO GOOD!!!! As are the complimentary appetizer, the fries on the menu, and the dessert! Can’t wait to go back and try them again!
Stumbling upon this place made our night. If you have time and value good service, good people, and good vibes. Pull up! We had 4 different types of pupusas and a drink called “ensalada” - everything was an absolute banger. We will definitely be coming back.
Run don't walk to Comalito! The food is fantastic, lovely atmosphere and warm and welcoming staff. It's a family owned restaurant and you feel part of that when you walk in. My family (with young children) all enjoyed dining here. We tried the whole menu and enjoyed everything. The prices are also very affordable. Would highly recommend starting with both the yucca fries and empanadas. We enjoyed the pupusas with our favorites being the cheese and zucchini and the cheese with garlic. For dessert, the warm rice pudding was delicious, but what won the night was the cream stuffed plantains! A real cuisine delicacy. Overall highly recommend a visit here, our kids gave the meal 100 stars! 🤩
Delicious! The salad was fresh and beautifully presented. The pupusa was a thick corn tortilla oozing bean, pork, and cheese goodness. The service was welcoming and thoughtful. Comalito is a small establishment that takes pride in the quality of its menu offerings and presentation.
I just recently discovered this place and I’m so glad I did. The food is amazing, I ordered revuelta’s. Great food! I love the sauce they use. The inside is beautiful and I loved the neon sign. Would highly recommend!
Really nice place !! The food menu is well rounded . Seating and tables very comfortable. Try the Pastelitos !!!
This is the best food ever you should try it. I encourage everyone to try this food.
Fresh pupusas made to order - cheese only, pork, beans, or all three combined! Good quality, good portions for the price. Service was kind of slow and there's only one cashier doubling as a server. Clean space inside, limited seats, and especially crowded during dinner hours.

A very nice restaurant with very good pupusas. Tasty curtido. Good coffee. Friendly service. The fries and bean dip were a very fun surprise. I will be back.
Hands down the best pupusas I've had in the Bay Area! The flavor, the texture, the filling-to-masa ratio — everything was perfect. Each bite was packed with authentic Salvadoran goodness, and they came out hot and fresh. You can really tell they’re made with care.
We had the Chicharron and Revuelta pupusas. They were very good, fried well with the crispy cheese oozing out. They provided complimentary tortilla fries and refried beans which was a unique and tasty appetizer. The employees are very friendly and accommodating as well. One suggestion I’d have is that they include a spicy salsa as an option.
Been missing pupusas and this place is legit! Delicious curtido (cabbage salad) and tomato sauce to go with it and tastes so authentic. Also love the empanadas with beef. Everything cooked fresh to order. Limited menu though so come for pupusas. Only downside is I'm dairy free, so Wish they had vegan cheese. Great service and the vibe is so great! Unusually Comfortable seating for this area since most neighboring restaurants are hole in the wall. Will come back.

My top 3 place for pupusas. The service was excellent, everything was delicious. The yuca fries wow so good. The pastelitos amazing.
Best pupusas in the area! The complimentary tortilla "fries" + refried bean dip was also delicious. The service was efficient and friendly.
