A hidden gem in Arlington, excellent Italian cuisine, beautiful environment, and awesome staff over here. Luisa is amazing, she’s very kind and friendly, makes you enjoy the dining time. Best Spaghetti and pizza I’ve ever had, even the appetizer- bread with Olive oil is excellent, no matter the high quality Gelato. This restaurant already became my weekly visited place!
What an incredible experience! Every bite brings an authentic, creative explosion of flavor. Beautiful atmosphere, kind and generous staff & food that will leave you dreaming for more. A must visit! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was hands down the best pizza, cappuccino and cannoli I have ever had! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the hospitality was A++
A well deserved top 50 award for best pizza in the US and the only restaurant in Virginia. The pizza is very authentic to the Italian tradition and they have a great selection of wine. Interior decorations and atmosphere are classic. We especially loved the posters. Also worth noting are their daily specials. Don't drive by! You must try! and one more thing.... Great Italian music!
After Il Canali, this is the best pizza spot in the DMV! The food was amazing, and the service was top-notch. I took my friend, and he had pasta with tomato sauce—he said it was the best he’s ever had! Perfectly al dente and full of flavor. The atmosphere was great, and our waiter, Danielo, provided excellent service. Huge thanks to Impero Wine for the recommendation—this place is a gem
I absolutely loved the pizza. So delicious! The sauce, the crust, the cheese, the diavola salami—🤤 I honestly liked everything about this place. Tiramisu and coffee were great, service was exceptional, the music is awesome, the bathroom is clean. My dog was having the time of her life on the patio laying in the sun. I’m definitely going to come back.
⸻ Il Mio Dio Italian Restaurant – A Hidden Gem! What an incredible dining experience! The food at Il Mio Dio is truly exceptional. Our waitress, Louisa, was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The ravioli pasta was hands down the best I’ve ever had – rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The pizza dough deserves a special mention: light, airy, and absolutely world-class. Every bite was a delight! They also have a fantastic selection of wines that perfectly complement the meal. To top it off, parking is free, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine. I’ll definitely be back!
This is our favorite italian restaurant in NOVA! My family and I go there for year and it is always a great experience! Pizza, pasta e please order the octopus for appetizer if you are into sea food!:)
The dining room is what you expect from an old-school Italian restaurant in America, while the bar is modern and energetic. The food is more Italian than American :) One of the best pizzas I had in America, consistent with the award. Enjoyed the margherita. Suggest the frittatine to start. The braised beef ravioli are tasty - if you are looking for an alternative. Pricey for pizza and location, but if there are many specials 1/2 off during the week.
Very impressed. Pizza was excellent, tasted like San Marzano sauce if it wasn't, and think it was. Service was very good and the inside is fine, it's neat but not fancy. They have specials, 1/2 off Pasta on Tuesdays, think 30% off from 3-5 during week and also on Pizza on Wed. Call to confirm. They have a 20% tip added, which surprised me but I'd have probably given him a little more if not added. Overall a winner, and glad I went. Just emailing a buddy, will probably go back with friends also. I got a Toto (meatball) which I liked, had ricotta also.
Dough is amazing. Tried pretty much all the tomato sauce pizzas and they were all good. Great place to bring kids too, my kid loves their pasta and the kids pasta is actually really good. Staff are super kind. Also the affogato is 👌
It is a Very nice calm restaurant with a cozy vibe and pleasant atmosphere! I loved it! Ravioli with beef were amazingly tasty! The spaghetti Del Mar is delicious!!! And the service was great! I will definitely come back to this restaurant! One thing to remember the 20% tips were added to our bill automatically. This is a bummer!
A Modo Mio is such a cozy and welcoming spot. The food tastes fresh and homemade, especially the pasta and sauces, which were full of flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. It’s a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a delicious Italian dinner. I’d definitely come back.
Came here on a Saturday around 7ish with my fellow pizza aficionado. Very nice. The dough is really really thin and soft before it gets airy and a little more dense (and nicely blistered). Sauce is EXCELLENT. I thought the tomato pie (no cheese) was outstanding (but could be further enhanced with a sprinkle of fresh garlic and pecorino). The red Modo Mio(?) with the prosciutto, arugula, olives and ricotta(?) was my favorite. The white porchetta with shrooms was almost equally outstanding. Maybe add sauce and make it red? REALLY really good though. The 4 Cheese was my buddy's fave, and he's as sick in the head (we've traveled for pizza...more than once) for za as I am. Lastly the Margherita. Very good, cheese to sauce skewed way too cheesy (cant believe I typed that) and should've been fresh mozzarella. But still quite a delicious slice.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional service and unforgettable flavors! Mari, our waitress, was unbelievable — professional, warm, and gave us the best service we’ve had in a long time. The lasagna was my absolute favorite, rich and delicious. And to top it all off, I enjoyed my favorite drink, Amaro del Capo — the perfect finish to a perfect meal. A Moda Mia is a gem. Highly recommended!
Wow, yes, please come here for the pasta! The lasagna is rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The salmon penne is great for the summer, slightly salty but also delightful! We also loved how fresh the salad is and the Italian cheesecake was fantastic. Highly highly recommend a visit here if you love Italian food! We have not yet tried the pizza but I can honestly say it looks very good, as well — I really don’t think you can go wrong. Service was great and the space makes eating here very comfortable.
Had a reservation on 6/18 at 5:45 pm and was seated promptly. The issue was they forgot to put in our pizza order. We waited quite a while before asking about the delay. They came back and said it would be ready in 5 mins…in other words, the order was just put in. There was confusion with the order we placed by the three different servers coming to our table. Pizza was good but not to the point that I would go out of my way to drive to get. Other items on the menu seem like they would be good. Will try going once more.
This place is a hit! We glad we listened to a recommendation and found this place. We had bruschetta which really good! The pizza we had Diavola, Prosciutto with Arugula and pepperoni. Everything was so good but my fave is Prosciutto with Arugula. The dough, taste and feels like am in Napoli again. We also ordered the lasagna, but I think it’s not for our party. It’s not bad but we just have high expectations. The staff were wonderful, really fast and they are always there in the right time. The place has its own character and charm from the outside to inside. Sittings are available outdoor and indoor. For sure we will go back! They have a decent space for parking but I can see that’s this place will be packed.
Been coming here for three years and it’s our go to for VPN certified pizzas in the dc area. Our last visit was four months ago. We decided to try different pizzas with the casertana (fior de latte and ricotta cheeses with sausage) and sole (white pizza with French fries). They were good. We also had the grilled octopus, fresh burrata, and gnocchi sorrentina. It was a bit of a miacue when the server held off on serving the burrata at room temperature and served the octopus first. We took cannolis and affogato for dessert. Can’t go wrong.
This location used to be Joe's Pizza, an all-you-can-eat place, before A Modo Mia and has the same decor. The only change is a nice bar replaces the cafeteria-style buffet setup. The pizzas are very tasty with some really flavorful special pizzas. I haven't tried other dishes/desert but plan to soon. It has a good Italian cocktail menu (e.g. Negroni) and the service is professional.
Nice place, seemed authentic with nice ads and good pizza. A few things to note -- service was sort of impersonal, with no one saying goodbye. Un po' fredda. We mentioned it was a birthday party -- no effort to bring anything or do anything special. We were seated next to a crowded table despite several other tables being nearby. Three of our party were Italian; no attempt to note this, speak Italian, or acknowledge -- is this restaurant run by Italians or not? No effort to accommodate kids. The food was good and authentic, but like so many places in the US it is a bit senz'anima. Up your game if you want a higher level of clientele. Otherwise, it's just a room with food. A decent room with decent food, but that's all.
I was very excited to try this place as it's a little out of my neck of the woods and therefore new to me. I was especially excited because it was certified by the Association Verace Pizza Napoletana which is an Italian organization that certified that the Neapolitan style pizza is prepared correctly and they aren't serving you a cheese pizza and calling it a Margherita. However, when we got our pizza we were very disappointed that the prosciutto was not fresh and cut too thick. The quality of the pizza was not what we're used to but it was still decent. The atmosphere was very nice though and I'm sure it'd be great during the world cup or other sporting events. When we were there it was cold and rainy so it was pretty empty.
Ordered takeout bc I wasn’t feeling well. Got minestrone soup - just a heads up it has no beans or pasta, only vegetables. The broth was delicious & exactly what I needed but the other ingredients were not at all what I expected when I ordered. & the focaccia wasn’t true focaccia. It was like cooked pizza dough with no sauce/cheese.
They serve old town Italian pizza made with Italy bought flour. The pizza based is freshly made and brick oven cooked. The ambience is not so great it’s like usual IHOP with plenty of seating available. They served us freshly baked soft bread with virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar. We ordered bruschetta. It was really good after drizzling some olive oil but fresh mozzarella was missing on the top of it. Then we had for-cello pizza it was pretty good but the anchovies made it too salty. I feel they should have used non salted anchovies so may be it could have tasted better. I regretted a bit because of taste after ordering it and thought May be just Margarita pizza would have been better.
My friends and I went here for New Year’s Eve dinner. We lived the atmosphere and the service was excellent. The food was unfortunately a miss. I had gotten the fromage gnocchi (I believe that’s what it’s called) and there was no flavor to it. I had asked for shrimp on the side and it looked like they had taken frozen shrimp microwaved it and threw some pepper on it before giving it to me. My friend had gotten the salmon it and also tasted like it was thawed and then pan seared before serving. The side of spinach that was part of the meal looked like it was boiled squeezed dry and then plopped on the plate. The roasted potatoes were done well though. Considering the high rating of this restaurant I was very dissatisfied. It would not be my first recommendation for people.
