The HC Tavern + Kitchen

This is most definitely a top notch spot to eat. The lobster was some of the best I've had and the scallops were amazing. Nice and crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked with a creamy center and fabulous flavor. I'll have to come back and try the steak the next time. The service was spot on and the atmosphere was nice and calm.

The moment we walked in, we were impressed with the ambiance and the decor. It was very classy yet laid back and casual. Riley, our server, was awesome! She knew the menu and was able to make suggestions on food options. She was upbeat, friendly, and very attentive. We chose to dine on the patio, which was amazing! We arrived just before dusk and were able to see the sunset, which offered a gorgeous view. We started off with flatbread, which was so good. I honestly could have stopped there, but I wanted to try some of their entrees. My husband ordered the shrimp tortellacci, which he said was good and flavorful. I ordered the sweet tea fried chicken; it was so good and filling. In addition to cocktails and tips, we spent less than $100. This was our first time at H.C Tavern, but it won't be our last!

If you are in the Fisher’s area this is a must!! I was having a tough time and decided to ordered a ton of food and sit in my beautiful room and I was not disappointed. Everything I got below was amazing!! I will definitely be back in august when I return to the area. I highly recommend the pimento cheese fritters, the Sweet Tea Fried Chicken and the maple glazed bacon (melts in your mouth!!) only negative thing is I got bread and butter and the butter was put in with my hot bread and it was melted and I was sad. But… it wasn’t the end of the world. I kinda over ordered. Haha. Thank you!! I’ll see you soon!!

Had a dinner reservation yesterday. We were seated almost immediately. The atmosphere is sofisticated. We had a nice booth by the bar. Our server, Kayleigh was very good at suggesting and explaining the menu. She was very friendly, and attentive. We did not feel rushed at all. She let us chat with our friends until we were ready to order. We ordered two servings of oysters. The shrimp ceviche that comes with it is amazing! The oysters were fresh, and very good. For dinner my husband had ribeye steak with horseradish mashed potatoes. He said it was very good. I ordered the shrimp tortellaci. I really enjoyed all the flavors in my dish. The wine selection was great. Very nice first time experience. We will be back.

Such a great experience at HC, perfect blend between modern and classic American flavors. There’s a cool and contemporary ambiance, with sleek decor, industrial-chic design elements, and dimly lit interior gave the restaurant a trendy yet inviting vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind with friends over great food and drinks or enjoy a romantic dinner. The menu had several options for all of us. The steak options are a highlight, showcasing the chef’s mastery in preparing a juicy and perfectly seasoned cut of meat. I opted for the Ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection, with a delightful char on the outside and a tender, juicy center. It truly satisfied my craving for a classic steak. The beet salad was great and I would go back just to have the corn bisque again. So good!! The service was friendly and attentive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations for both food and drinks. Overall great dining experience, you should definitely check it out.

The Brie was creamy and rich, great paired with nuts and jam. My bacon cheeseburger was high quality, just needed a touch more seasoning. My wife had the chopped salad, it was ok but not something to rave about. Would definitely eat here again. Corn Bisque needed something, more cream or seasoning maybe. Next time I’m ordering the bacon appetizer

Definitely worth visiting. The Lobster Cargo is my absolute fav & the shrimp dumplings are pretty yummy as well. Wish they had a different option for poultry as I’m not a huge fan of the Sweet Tea Fried Chicken…a grilled choice would be lovely. My waitress was super sweet & even brought me out the seasonal cobbler with ice cream for my birthday!

Visited here for a friend's birthday brunch. We were in a private dining area. Service was great. I got the shrimp n grits (photo) it was pretty good. The shared lobster cargo was a hit and nothing but compliments on the store pie. Would definitely like to visit again and try some other items. Great atmosphere. Parking may be limited based on the day/time visited. Great place for anniversaries, celebrating or engagements.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing! Justin was our server, and he was wonderful! He suggested the lobster cargot for an appetizer, which was perfection! He never let our drinks empty, and was so polite and helpful! Amazing atmosphere, wonderful staff, all around great time! I highly recommend, especially for date night!

I think this might be my new favorite restaurant. Everyone was so nice and it's beautiful inside. The crab cakes were the best I've had at a non coastal place. I didn't try my companions meals but they all raved about it. Our waiter was Ken and he was so great, personable, funny, gave great recommendations. I look forward to going back soon

A great place to spend your birthday. The HC Tavern is such a vibe. Truly enjoyed the food, great food items for the little kids to enjoy. I would recommend the shrimp tortellacci , steak sandwich and the fish tacos. All of the flatbread pizza looks amazing. The drinks are on the pricier side.

Had an amazing experience here for dinner. It was such a vibe. This was my first time coming here. The drinks, the food, the atmosphere...all top tier. I will for sure be back and might have my birthday party here!!!

Perfect after work spot to take out of town clients. The food packed a lot of flavor and the ambiance was perfect. Our server went above and beyond to take care of us. Thank you Jessica for making our night memorable. The wife and I can't wait to make this a regular date night spot.

Absolutely wonderful service, came for a early dinner for my birthday and the staff absolutely knocked it out of the park. My fiancee and I were adventurous and tried the sweet tea fried chicken...btw absolutely fantastic flavor especially with the hot honey. The waitress was awesome even giving me a free desert wo me asking for it to be comp'ed. If you are in the area and are looking for well made food and hand crafted drinks I highly recommend this fine dining restaurant. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful birthday experience.

The food and service are always top notch here. We had a particularly wonderful experience with the hostess on December 30. We had a surprise visit from a family member and needed a nice place for dinner with a party of 7. She quickly offered options for a table, and was so pleasant and friendly. Noah at HC made our date night evening fabulous! Everything he recommended was delicious. We started with the Lobster-cargot and it was to die for. The espresso martini was the best I’ve had. My husband has the ribeye and said it was great. I had the crab cakes and they were the best a crab cake can get not being in a coastal area. The ambience was so relaxing as well. Will be returning !

Very rarely write a review, but this place is fantastic. Good service, delicious food. Had the lobster cargo and was to die for. They sure didn’t skimp on the lobster. The ribeye sandwich was perfection. 10/10!!

Our server, Mark Wessel, quickly became our ally in crafting the ideal meal. When my wife explained her celiac disease and need for gluten-free options, Mark responded with patience and genuine care. He didn't just recite menu facts; he sought out answers to every question, ensuring she could dine safely and confidently. When I requested a menu modification on an item that typically doesn't allow substitutions, Mark didn't simply say no. Instead, he advocated for us, demonstrating that HC Tavern values guest satisfaction above rigid rules. As Manager Aaron Hutchison helped serve our food, I noticed my special request had been accommodated. When I asked what changed, his response captured everything special about HC Tavern: "We are not in the business of telling our guests no." The meal definitely exceeded our expectations. Every dish was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. My sister-in-law summed it up perfectly, commenting on how fortunate we were to have such an amazing restaurant nearby. As Mark handled our bill and to-go boxes with the same attentive care he'd shown throughout the meal, and as Mallory, Ramzi, and the entire HC team bid us warm farewells, we realized something important: we hadn't just found a convenient solution to our scheduling problem. We'd created a new family tradition. We're already planning our next visit to HC Tavern, and we'd encourage anyone looking for more than just a meal to experience the difference for themselves. Kendra was fantastic and quick to help us with orders and suggestions. The food was amazing. The only drawback is the back room downstairs is too loud and for some that don’t hear well it was difficult. Not sure how you fix that other than request to sit in other parts of the restaurant. We look forward to our next visit.

The wife and I had a date night here and had an amazing time. The food was fantastic and the dimmed lighting set the right ambiance. Everyone working our table was engaging and really made our experience very memorable. I will definitely be coming back for another date night!

We had an amazing time here! Delicious food. Our server, Sophia, greeted us with spectacular hospitality and really made the entire experience perfect. She steered us in the perfect direction with the spinalis and ahi tuna. We will be back!

Laurie was our server. She greeted us and asked if we had been here before. We said yes. We sat downstairs last time. The upstairs dining was wonderful. Laurie asked if we were celebrating anything special. My daughter told her it was my anniversary of my late husband and myself. She suggested a dessert as a celebration. We accepted. I wasn’t expecting that. So very thoughtful. The food was spectacular. Thank you Laurie for making this a special evening for me and my daughter!!

Sophia was our waitress and she was awesome!! She helped us figure out what’s good and she was so sweet! We loved being able to interact w/ someone so full of energy and kind, especially after a long day for her. Great experience overall, mainly because of Sophia!!

A wonderful place for a delicious meal. The atmosphere is stunning, but the service is what truly stood out. Kendra was incredible—she was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We took her advice and ordered the sweet tea chicken and the street corn; they were both 10/10! If you’re in Fishers, this is a must-visit spot.

The HC Tavern + Kitchen is the perfect spot for pre-event dining! We stopped in before a concert at the Fishers Event Center, and this restaurant did not disappoint. The beautiful decor creates a great atmosphere for a truly delicious meal. Our waitress, Kendra, was amazing—she was friendly, attentive, and provided the best excellent service. Her recommendations were superb; the Sweet Tea Chicken and Street Corn were amazingly delicious. A wonderful dinner and absolutely worth the stop!

I met a friend for lunch and it was my first time dining here. I love the decor and atmosphere. We both ordered the soup and sliders. The food was delicious and the servings were large enough to take some home. My husband enjoyed the leftover slider too.

The atmosphere here is great and so many different types of seating—bar, booth at the bar (one of my favorites), patio… The service was top notch and our server seemed very knowledgeable (and funny). The prices are on the higher end but also the dishes are pretty filling. We split the Brussels sprouts salad which was pretty good and then I had the sliders—I tried both a steak and a crabcake one and they were both delicious. I could barely finish my food actually. My friend also had crabcakes (but as an actual dish) and also loved them. In all honesty these might have been the best crabcakes I’ve had—not too fishy and super flavorful.

Food was great. Loved the service! Sophia was amazing! We were here for a girls night and she was on point. She brought our martinis to the table in a martini tower and was super fun. Great night!

We had a party of 14 tonight and had the BEST server- her name is Sophia!! She was so energetic and fun and gave us so many great recs and handled the large party flawlessly! We will definitely be back and be asking for her! Food and atmosphere were also amazing :)

We brought our 13 year old grandson here because he requested a night out at a nice restaurant. He was very happy with our choice! Food is really good and service is impeccable. But portions are fairly small and some items are overpriced (3 scallops/$50). Love the asiago orzo!

This is a fantastic location with really great food and service. HC Tavern is part of the St. Elmo's and 1933 family of restaurants, and is the most family friendly of them all. The selection and prices are more accommodating here, but the drink and food quality are better at 1933 in the same Fishers District area. The upstairs bar and patio area are great in the summer. The size of HC Tavern means you may be able to get an open reservation here when other places are booked. You will not be disappointed in the quality of food and service. Update: HC prices have risen and it is no longer a five star rating in Fishers...

4.33/5 Visited a little over a month ago while I was traveling on business. The restaurant is in a nice area and it makes sense why it had a decent crowd. As much as I like to have sugary drinks, I thought mine had too much sweetness to them. Food was phenomenal though. Had the fried chicken entree and upgraded a side to the beets with goat cheese - no regrets! Seating was spacious and the service was decent.

We sat outside on the second floor terrace, it was lovely although you are looking at the rest of the shopping complex. Food was great - especially loved the fish tacos and the berry crumble. There must have been a mix up with server assignments, table next to us had two different servers attempt to help them and we had to eventually ask to be waited on after sitting for 20 minutes. Things happen and the rest of the service was great.

I visit this restaurant often and the food is phenomenal each time. My faves are the scallops entree, the lobster cargot appetizer, the Caesar salad and the s’mores mousse dessert. The lemon drop martini is perfection! The Christmas decor is a 10 out of 10 this year, especially in the loft patio!

We had a bigger party and the service was great. I had the Smash Burger and my wife had the Truffle Grilled Cheese. Both were very good and the price for those items was very reasonable. There were other items on the menu that were very expensive. We also had the Cocktail Shrimp, be ready for your sinuses to open up if you get this. The horseradish sauce was strong! Good but strong. If you visit here,, enjoy!

Tonight was our first time at HC Tavern, although we frequent other places owned by or affiliated with St Elmo’s. We were very excited to have a date night without the kids, specifically here. We arrived earlier than our stated reservation so I asked the host if we needed to sit at the bar for happy hour drinks. The hostess with the red hair VERY nastily and abruptly said “that ended at 5.” And ignored me when I told her the website says 4-6pm. Red is not the girl you want working the door to greet patrons. I was ready never to come back. She made me feel embarrassed, like I was supposed to know it had changed to end at 5pm when the website says otherwise. We got to our table and our sweet server saved the day. My husband opened the menu and saw it said happy hour was 4-6pm so I asked our server when it changed to end at 5. Our server said it has always been six and apologized profusely upon Red’s behalf. She reported it to a manger for us. She treated us with kindness, the kind of treatment you hope for when you go out to eat on a special occasion (mom and dad’s evening alone without kids which only comes once in a blue moon.) I only wish I would have gotten her name again to publicly call her out for doing great work. Red needs a few service classes if you’re going to have her work the door. Truthfully if I were to walk in and see her greeting I would likely turn and leave.

We just had lunch/brunch at HC Tavern. Honestly, it was so disappointing. We went to celebrate our anniversary, so we were excited to try it. We started with the Madtini. It was served in an overflowing glass where it was dripping down the glass and onto the table. There was no way to drink it without getting your hand dirty. Why would they serve it to a customer like that? I had to ask for it to be served in a non-dripping glass. The first sip was fine but it increasingly became cloyingly sweet. I could only stand 2-3 sips before it was abandoned. The crab cake benedict was flavorful, but the English muffin was cut so lopsidedly, it looked rushed and sloppy. And the poached eggs were overcooked. They were set like hard-boiled eggs, resulting in the dish eating dry without the runny yolk blending with the Hollandaise. The asparagus complemented the flavors of the benedict. I had the lunch special with sliders, shrimp cocktail, house salad and fries. The shrimp was drowned in cocktail sauce that was explosively strong horseradish forward. My nose started dripping and it was literally painful to eat the shrimp. My partner attempted to eat the other, and could not handle it, discreetly spitting it out onto his plate. The fries were overly salted and the filet slider was dried out. The crab cake slider overwhelming tasted of old bay seasoning. The crab cake in the benedict was more balanced. In terms of service, we were seated near the fireplace which was romantic. Then someone opened the door to an adjoining room, which caused a draft. I asked if it could be closed, which allowed the ambient heat from the fireplace to be enjoyed. That lasted for 10-15 minutes before someone else opened the door again, making us cold. It seems like there's no communication among staff for why to keep the door to an unused room closed. All in all, there's much better food to be had elsewhere, and the service was minimal. Poor choices led to an underwhelming experience. If this is what HC Tavern is about, we will not return.
