Avis sur Kong Sihk Tong Flushing
This is by far one of the best Hong Kong Cafes in NYC, serving authentic HK and Cantonese dishes. The Flushing location is more spacious than the Manhattan one, but good luck finding parking. Their HK milk tea is a must-order, whether you want it hot or cold. The cheung fun, curried fish balls, black pepper squid, toast, sandwiches, etc are all on point and will not disappoint! One of the staff members also reminds me of the drummer of Beyond 😅. Tell me I am not wrong!
Dined in after the lunch rush so there weren't many people inside given that it was a weekday. We got seated in one of their booths. I liked that the menu was under the glass table top already so we didn't need to wait for the server to come over with the menus. It was much more expansive compared to what they have listed on their online site (a lot of new items). We ordered the salt and pepper squid, slated duck egg yolk jumbo shrimp fried rice and Japanese style seafood stir fried udon. We were given cups of hot tea (since it's cold out) but you can ask for cold water too. The squid came out first, it was piping hot and light on the crunch. The salt and pepper flavor was a very minimal. The favorite of the table was the fried rice! I really love the additions of the crispy rice and shallots which added a crispy element to the overall dish. The egg floss also made the whole dish much tastier. There were 5 pieces of shrimps coated in salted egg yolk (would've been even tastier if the shrimp heads were left on). This was definitely a must order dish. The udon was also great. The bonito flakes on top really enhanced the overall seafood yakisoba flavor of the dish. There were a few scallops, shrimps, and squid pieces in the dish and they all tasted very fresh. Service was decent but not too frequent as they were probably prepping for the lunch rush. Once we got the check, the server asked if we wanted another cup of tea before we headed out which was a thoughtful touch.
Our server Steven was so attentive and accommodating! He answered all the questions we had. All of our food came out piping hot, we loved the golden lava and sesame french toast. They only serve breakfast before 11am, so I really recommend coming here at maybe 10:30am so you can get the best of both worlds for lunch. Highly recommend the black pepper chicken chop baked fried rice as well. Awesome brunch place, can get busy- will be back!
Nice decor, atmosphere is lively, need to wait for seating is you get there at rush hours. Placement of takeout is fast and efficient taking 20 minutes to get ready. The food taste of authentic HK flavors. The classic spy sauce pan fried noodles was amazing, beef w/flat noodles portion was a bit smaller but flavor made up for it by not being too salty from soy sauce. Loved the eggplant w/ minced meat, had a slight chili kick to it. The Korean style bbq meat was similar to LA kalbi (without the char), still moist. I would definitely go back to try other menu items. Only issue is payment, cash and venmo only; also no parking in the area.
The one on Bayard street was really good, so I gave this Flushing location a try. We came for breakfast and the noodles were pretty good. Not pictured are the sandwiches that we wolved down. Highly recommend the corned beef sandwich. The staff are attentive for the appropriate cuisine. Bring cash.
Came here for a casual dinner. The iced HK milk tea was spot on. Everything we ordered was delicious. The baked pork chop with tomato sauce was very good — perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The fish with corn and egg over rice was one of the best renditions we’ve had. The new item, chicken chop with instant noodle was good. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
This place was recommended to me since I love honk Kong style cafes. Upon arrival, was seated immediately by their friendly and well trained staffs. The menu is on the table under the plexi glass, they offer breakfast and lunch. The menu is filled with many delicious and authentic Hong Kong dishes. The food had a wait, but it does not bother me at all because I have high patience. The food was pretty good and so was the service. I recommend this place for anyone looking to have breakfast or if your just in the area. Definitely will be back to explore other items.
Went for an early Sunday dinner. Not busy. Loved everything from the booth seating to the service to the food. The salted duck egg jumbo shrimp fried rice was perfection—crispy, flavorful, good portion size. The baked fried rice with chicken chop was sweet, but still so yummy. The beef chow fun could’ve done with a lot more flavor, even after adding chili oil and soy sauce, but it was still satisfying. The HK-style milk tea was just okay. Our waiter was attentive and so helpful when it came to ordering stuff without pork in it. Looking forward to going back and trying so many other wonderful looking dishes. So nice to find a comfortable place with reasonable prices that I can go to for filling, delicious solid comfort food. Update: Went back for lunch another day. Food was just as deliciously comforting as the first time. Loved every dish.
One of my favorite restaurants in NY!! Been to this location multiple times, so glad they opened this location in Queens 🤩 Food always hits and the service is amazing. Highly recommend the baked rice, HK toasts, pasta carbonara and milk teas, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Also super cute decor and vibes, will def be coming back :))
Lovely experience. Very reasonable pricing considering rent here. The beef brisket wonton noodle soup was so flavorful. Everything else we had was amazing. The service was also very amiable, but because we went during a lunch rush it was a bit hectic. However, would come back next time for sure!
I've tried a few Hong Kong style food but this one I recently discovered is far most the most authentic. I ordered Satay Beef Sandwich, Corned Beef & Egg, and Peanut Butter French. I also love their milk tea especially. I'm definitely coming back again to try other food in the menu. Interior is clean and food came out quickly. It can get very busy, so I suggest to get there early.
This is my new favorite restaurant! The menu is filled with a mix of Cantonese classics kicked up with some European influence. Everything I tried was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. I strongly recommend the Golden Lava French Toast, Crispy Shrimp and Calamari w/Salty Duck Egg Sauce, Japanese Seafood Noodles, and Baked Fried Rice and Pork Chops!
The Beef Wonton Soup and curry fish balls were quite good. Portion sizes are decent for the price. When I visited, they didn’t take credit cards so be sure to bring cash/they take Venmo too.
The drinks and dishes I got are mostly good. The portion is smaller than expected, but prices are considered high. The origin of HK Cafe is cheap, pretty and great. Guess is no longer true in America. HK milk tea is on par, the wonton beef stew is disappointed. Salty duck egg jumbo shrimp is surprisingly good. The other dishes are just average. Should have stuck with the iconic pasta and rice dishes.
Overall pretty good experience, but I don’t think the pineapple bun is legit… I had two bites then spit it out cuz the butter is too salty and the bun doesn’t have the crispy layer I was hoping for 😔 Egg toast is a bit mild but everything else is okay. I like the chicken wings and borscht soup. The HK style milk tea also tastes great
Ordered bake rices, sadly the tomatoes pork chop is pretty bad, sauce was way too sweet, first time I try not mix to much with rice, I will never order it again. The baked chicken rice was good, standard taste, just not much chicken. I also ordered a half coffee and tea, it tasted ok. Went there again to give them another chance after a year. Ordered baked pork chop rice, and curry beef on rice. Again baked pork chop rice is too sweet and while waiting for over 25min the rice does not look baked, no dry are and the sauce is as sweet and more MSG then before, never will try again, it's not my taste. The curry beef on rice was salty, way too salty than normal, at least still able to eat, but not recommended for such sodium level of you have medical condition. Will not try again. Services were excellent, because I might come again.
