Avis sur Princess Seafood Market & Deli Fort Bragg
We had the crab sandwich and a bowl of salmon chowder, they were both amazing! The crab sandwich was light with plenty of crab and the salmon chowder was probably the best chowder we've ever had. The venue is nice with plenty of outdoor seating. Highly recommend Princess Seafood Market!!
Love this spot. A good option if their restaurant isn’t open. Had great food here, and the folks behind the counter were friendly and chill.
Specials right now, rock fish Banh mi and Kim Chi crab cakes are flavorful, sandwich has a chimichurri sauce, both thoughtful and better than ordinary seafood fare. Enjoyed the food and the patio in the harbor. UPDATE: Clam chowder has lots of clams, and the bread bowl is crusty, awesome on a cold day. The crab cakes have a small serving of seaweed salad with a tangy dressing.
The selection of fresh seafood is wonderful! The only thing I was not sure about was the fact that the smoked fish was next to fresh fish, and the sale person used the same gloves to weight fresh fish and then the smoked fish. I ended up baking smoked fish for a few minutes in hope to kill bacteria from the fresh fish.
Great place for lunch in Fort Bragg. We had the Western Crab roll, and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The lobster bisque was really good though not quite as memorable. Very friendly staff, we picked up some fish to cook at home as well. Good selection of beer. Only outdoor seating, so be prepared on windy/cold days.
Absolutely amazing crab roll and crab. The crab roll had chunks of crab meat - way better than the options at Fisherman's Warf. The restaurant was closed when we came, but the market & deli was open, and we are so grateful they have the deli. The desserts were also incredible; they didn't last long enough to get a photo.
Visited the market to see what they have. Lots of good looking fresh fish. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. I tried a piece of their local smoked fish. That was good. But I ended up getting the Grilled Halibut sandwich on special. A bit pricey but very delicious. Great sauce. Good bun. I enjoyed it. Want to go back and try their BBQ oysters soon. If you either want to get some fish or crab to take home or you're looking for a place to eat good seafood this is the place. Note they close at 5pm. So, check the hours before you go. Nice covered outdoor seating and across from the distillery.
We had the most amazing experience at Princess Seafood when we were visiting Mendocino and I cannot recommend it enough! First of all, the food was by far the best in the harbor: the chowder and bbq oysters were killer! But then, they went above and beyond by grabbing gluten free rolls from their restaurant location so that I could enjoy the best crab roll I’ve had. This was all thanks to WILBUR!! He made my gluten free perfect crab roll dreams come true - rolls are usually available at the restaurant, but they were closed that week for the holiday so Wilbur grabbed some especially for me when I mentioned I was hoping to come by the next day for dinner. Check out the market when you’re in the area or head to their restaurant location which I imagine is also fabulous. Thank you, Princess Seafood and Wilbur in particular! You’re the best!!
This is the fresh seafood market and sister business of the princess restaurant at the mouth of the harbor. The restaurant was so busy, we opted to buy our oysters from the grill at the market. Delicious. Half a dozen oysters on the half shell and a half a dozen special of the BBQ oysters with butter and chipotle sauce. I know oysters are an acquired taste, but boy they are good.
We came here because the restaurant is closed. The cashier (maybe also the chef cooking the oyster?) was friendly and informative. We sat outside by the fire and it is so warm despite we are by the sea.The crab roll is so good! Really big portion and we weren’t able to finish it! The lobster bisque is so warm and thick, full of flavor. The oyster is fresh and delicious. They are so big compared to the ones we see before! I love it here and definitely recommend!
My husband and I visit Fort Bragg a couple of times per year and this time we came across this wonderful establishment. We got there just in time for the grill to be fired up and we had the most incredible oysters for breakfast perfectly cooked and seasoned. The young man that assisted us I do wish I remembers his name we were there on 10/29/23 was so nice and helpful such a nice young man thank you! We brought home with us some lobster bisque it was honestly the best we ever had. Our only retreat was that we did not bring home the clam chowder as well. We are really looking forward to our next visit.
It was truly a #SundayFunday for me as my son invited me out for a late lunch. Maybe those of you that know him can tell him to spend more time with me before he takes off for College 🤔😲🙄😉. Yes I do try and talk about my kids whom many of you know, can you believe they get embarrassed when I add them in pictures 😂🤣🥰. Happily he mentioned Princess where I have bought seafood from, but never had the honor of having meal prepared by. The first thing I noticed was their disclaimer that they DO NOT HAVE A FRYER , I thought that was very cool and different from our other restaurants ( though I really live crispy fries). The menu had many interesting choices I was leaning toward the crab roll but chose the Cod mild at my kids urging. It was a really good sandwich very flavorful, somehow either a seagull or my son ate half. He got the Salmon which was amazing. I'm not a huge salmon fan, yes I know that's sacrilegious, but it's true, and I would order it. The staff was happy to answer questions, the presentation was well done and the service solid. I'm a big fan of the harbor area, wishing I could live there though I love my spot now, and this restaurant doesn't disappoint. The atmosphere was fabulous and the deck a great place to eat. Our first visit to Fort Bragg. Our plan was to walk along the beach and find a great seafood restaurant. We visited MacKerricher State Park. Lots of trails and scenery. After beach time, it was a 5 minute drive to Princess Seafood. On the restaurant side, its self service. And, most times there's a line. Our line was short at 12:30 on Sunday. It did get longer. Ordering was easy. We had the Crab Plate and Clam Chowder. A little pricey. Seating was outside under a large tent cover. Very comfortable. Food was good. Portions average to small. Overall, a good experience.
Had one of best clam chowder I’ve ever eaten. It can certainly match the best bowl in Boston. The chowder was rich with lots of clams and served in a warm toasted sourdough bowl. The inner bowl and cap were toasted with either butter or drizzled with olive oil. It was perfect. Staffs were friendly and service was prompt. The restroom leaves a lot to be desired though. It was as nasty as any public restrooms can get.
