Moonlite Diner is a great American diner experience with excellent service and reasonable prices. Customers rave about the quality of the food, especially the burgers and quesadillas. It's a great place to discover by chance and enjoy a satisfying meal.
Tip: It's hard to describe, so you have to pass by to understand. Parking lot is big.
This is so far one of my top 3 favorite diners in Fort Lauderdale. The atmosphere, service and food are amazing. Onion ring tower , milkshakes and signature sandwiches are fire in this place. Highly recommended to local and visitors. You feel like you travel in a time machine back to the 60's. Keep going doing the hard and excellent work!
Ive been coming here every weekend since I moved to Florida and I have to say this is one of the best diners youll ever go to. Not only is the staff great friendly, and makes you feel at home the food is awesome. Breakfast is one of those meals where the simpler the better and they hit that on the nose with a great price. However today my friend and I tried their red velvet and Boston cream pancakes and holy moly they were good. The Boston cream was not too sweet with lots of cream in between the 2 pancakes. The red velvet was rich and delicious. Both pancakes very fluffy and feel homemade. Recommend coming here 10/10 experience
Great place! Wide variety of items on menu, and friendly service. Food came out quick, and was delicious.
The perfect breakfast spot after a night out! Moonlite Diner in Fort Lauderdale has become our go-to for breakfast after a fun night out with friends. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is always cordial and welcoming, and service is fast — exactly what you need in the morning. We usually sit outside since they allow dogs, which makes it even better. The food always hits the spot — classic diner comfort done right, with great coffee and generous portions. It’s one of those places that never disappoints and feels like a little Fort Lauderdale tradition every time we go.
Very cute Diner vibe. Brought our dogs and kept dry on patio during heavy rain. Food was delicious, lots to choose from.
We absolutely love brunching at one of our favourite spots in Fort Lauderdale! The staff is so friendly, and the food is always delicious and fresh.
Found this gem after a long day traveling! It was close to our hotel and the menu had something for everyone. Our server was so kind and helpful. The hits for us were the onion rings and the ice cream sundae. Yum! Definitely recommend!
Went in over the weekend our server kristin was amazing ! We tried to new chorizo omelette which was amazing AND the pumpkin pancakes and lemon blueberry pancakes! The pumpkin was my favorite and they come with the cutest little Halloween sprinkles ! Highly recommend this diner! The service and food are amazing and it’s very clean inside!
Great place for old time shakes and delicious food like breakfast items, burgers and desserts 🍨 Highly recommend! Atmosphere is nostalgic, service friendly and great food.
it was AMAZING. i was down in fort lauderdale for my birthday & went here twice within 3 days. daphene took care of me and my family both visits & was so kind. the workers overheard me talking to my friend about my birthday and surprised me with a free sundae 🥹. made my day. such a loving, comfortable, nostalgic environment. (not to mention the food was AMAZING). i got the oreo milkshake which was soo good. i also tried the caesar salad, and the loaded fries. both delicious. 10/10 recommend. thank you guys for giving me such an amazing experience !!
Very cool old fashion diner, beautiful decor with plenty of memorabilia to see, menu is extensive and you are sure to find your favorite! Food service is relatively quick and very nice, servers are really happy to work there, and manager working on the dining room with great vibes and pride! I totally recommend this place if you are in any of the area hotels…you must be crazy to give tv places less then 5 stars, or really negative toxic people… lol
It's a diner with that retro look. The food was exceptional, and our waitress was so sweet. Service was fast, the prices were affordable, and the apple cobbler was out of this world. The experience was like a blast from the past. Will definitely be going back to this gem.
Absolutely Loved Our Visit! We had such a great time at Moonlite Diner! Breakfast for dinner is always a treat, and their corned beef hash was hands down my favorite—cooked to perfection. But the real showstopper? The milkshakes! They were not only delicious but beautifully presented and so much fun. Our waitress, Amanda, truly made the experience unforgettable. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our milkshakes extra special. Her energy and care really stood out. If you’re in Fort Lauderdale, do yourself a favor and stop by Moonlite Diner. Great food, amazing milkshakes, and stellar service—what more could you ask for?
First time coming here & as I walked in I got a great good morning welcome ☺️ The Server Angelica was nice & attentive. I enjoyed my breakfast, but I do wish that the hash browns came on a plate on its own as I ❤️ hashed browns with Ketchup but it was mixed in the Corn Beef Hashed. The breakfast was very satisfying the only negative to say that the BISCUIT was not hot ! 😕 All & all I shall go again but next time for lunch - dinner!
Classic diner filled with Americana and kitsch. They’ve pared down their menu but still offer tons to enjoy. There are TVs playing classic shows and cute decor all around. Indoor and outdoor seating. I usually come here for breakfast. It’s not a super fancy menu but their breakfast classics are always solid. They also have good dinner and lunch as well. There are milkshakes, egg creams, and some beer/wine as well. Prices are solid and service is friendly!
Classic diner experience. It reminded of experience in NY or NJ so many good memories. Lovely place plenty of tables to sit though being a popular place it can get very busy, especially in the mornings and the weekend. Staff was amazing, very friendly and ready to serve anything needed. Blue cheese burger was amazing, I recommend it, even for breakfast. Very inviting atmosphere and family friendly for sure.
One of our other favorites for weeknight dining! Amanda, whom we have known for many years now, is our favorite server. The food is great, the place is pretty cool, the people are nice, what more could you want from a diner?! One more note, try the French onion soup! It's really quite delicious, prepared and served properly, and it's a really good deal if you do the add-on to either a sandwich or dinner.
This place is everything I wanted it to be. A classic diner with tons of memorabilia, great food and great prices. The service is amazing and the menu is vast but in the best way. You want it, they've got it. Breakfast served all day is always a bonus in my eyes. Their burgers are huge and cooked well with lots of toppings. The salad was massive and everything seemed fresh. The bathroom decor was fun and hit me with nostalgia. I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant.
When in Florida......go to a diner. Came here with 4 other people and upon entering, I was immediately hit with the old school decor of this place. If you were to picture your stereotypical American diner, this place is as close as it gets. I myself got a steak and cheese with disco fries and I found the food to be pretty good. Not the best I had but the food wasn't bad and the prices weren't too bad. On the other hand, I had a brownie milkshake and it was easily one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. I didn't realize that the milkshakes here were so popular but I could see why. The lady who served us was incredibly friendly with us and I was starting to feel that this was the Southern hospitality that you usually hear about. I don't live in the state, let alone the area but if I did, I would frequent this place every week. My only regret is that I didn't try their seasonal pumpkin pancakes.
I really like it here. They were very accommodating even though they were packed! I see why though the atmosphere is great- we were happy to visit. Érica, our server was very friendly and sweet. The manager was overseeing everything, lending a helping hand and just making sure that everything was running smoothly and folks were being helped. The food was great- 4 of us got the hungry man and a couple others got French toast, it was all very good and the building is beautiful. They have pictures of past visitors, Adam Sandler included! That was neat- to dine in where one of my favorite actors of all time, did. I recommend it here oh and they’re really good following Covid guidelines and they don’t exclude you if you don’t have a mask- they just give u one. This is a great place to eat! And they have an activity sheet for the kids. We even used the back and played tic tac toe while we waited for our food. We had fun - nice vibe.
This reminded us of an east coast diner! To start off the staff is phenomenal! We visited this location twice during a weekend. The first server that took care of us Macarena was amazing. Her service, attitude, attention and care were on point. Especially for us being there after 10:30pm and then letting her know that we usually stay late talking and might close it down with her at 2:30AM. The second day we had Bella and she was also Amazing! We did go a bit earlier this time and sat there between 3:30pm -8:30pm and not just her but the other servers and manager were pleasant. Now for the food, if you go here and know diners order the Disco Fries!!! they are banging!!! especially if you have had them in NY, NJ, CT, PA diners. Also a must have is a ice cream shake or sundae.. they are to die for and something that everyone that goes there orders. Besides that anything that we ordered those two days was great. The food was fresh, fast and plenty. I would go here again especially with the service and taste of the food.
I went here for dinner with some friends and had a great time. The staff is so sweet and informative. They make you feel like family. The food is so yummy and they have great options. And the shakes are sooooooo pretty and delicious. They really get creative with them. You must check out this spot. Also, love the art on the wall! Don't skip the carrot cake
We love going here when in Florida. Everything we've had from breakfast to lunch/dinner options are always so good & the staff is always friendly. They have an outside seating area next to a pond with plenty of wildlife to keep you entertained!
Absolutely wonderful! Meal was delicious, staff was amazing and prices were very fair. Great recommendations for attractions for kids in questionable weather.
Love the atmosphere and hospitality of this Diner. I had the fish and chips which I love. Also love the wings. Service is Impeccable. And the Diner very vintage. Absolutely love this place and would recommend it to everyone.
This place is a must if you have overseas visitors in town, or if you simply want to he somewhere has the feel of a real American diner. For sure this place is old school and it has potential to be a mecca of Americanism for foreign tourists. Highly recommended for the American experience in this nice little diner. Food wise I will leave your own judgement.
I'll have to update this review at some point...because I plan on coming back a lot! Really casual dining experience with all types of comfort food....the only thing I was kind of disappointed in was that the Eggs Benedict is only available till 3pm...and I got there at 4:30ish! I still had an interesting poached egg(2) on cornbeef hashed and hashbrowns combo, with a tasty biscuit! The atmosphere reminds of a 40's/50's diner..very interesting look! Only a couple handicapped parking spaces out front and manual doors...so be ready for access challenges if you're in a chair...but employees seem very friendly and helpful. Be safe all.
MOONLITE DINER GOOD - Food, service, fun decor BAD - not much, a tad pricey for a diner but the quality backs it up I LOVE diners and Moonlite did not disappoint. The inside is classic retro diner with throwback artwork to jazz up the experience. Our server was great, very friendly and attentive We had the po boy and the ultimate club. Both were done perfectly, no fooling around with good staples. Too many places get creative with classic sammies. My banana milkshake was also amazing, big banana chunks. Give this place a shot, pronto.
Loved my experience at Moonlite Diner! The diner is super cool looking both inside and out. Service was fast, very welcoming and our server was awesome. We ordered the Patty Melt, Pancakes, a Steak & Cheese Sub and they were all absolutely delicious. AND of course, we ordered their world famous Milk shakes which were perfection. We were a table of four very hungry diners and our bill was under $100. I recommend you try this awesome place! I loved it!
Sarah & Amanda gave me great service and welcoming conversation! Deffinently will be back! Steak & eggs were sooooo good and well seasoned
In town for a meeting and stumbled upon Moonlite Diner, and so glad I did! Food was delicious, portions left us stuffed, and the price was right on. Also, our server, Cindy was an absolute doll. Highly recommend!
Strategical location, been wanting to stop by but never did until now. Compare to other dinners in the area this is by far the best tasting one. They did took a little longer to deliver the food and there was nothing to make my daughter’s 17th birthday special, although we appreciate them writing HB in the desert. Hint: they will give you 1/2 off on birthday dinner plate and dessert but only if you call ahead. Hot chocolate was good, no watery taste and the hint of peppermint was perfect. Grilled Cheese Sandwich was delicious, toasty and buttery with good cheese that felt fresh. Tomato Soup was light with minimal small pieces of tomatoes, the perfect complement! Burger looked good. Carrot cake was recommended by the server as we requested a sweet treat, surprisingly it hit the spot, highly recommended! Overall a great experience, we’ll come back again!
It's a little cold inside but I honestly had a lovely time. The staff is so friendly and kind. I can see people being very happy to visit this place regularly.
The food was very good. I had the breakfast totsand it was a good sized order and filled me up. The wife had cheeseburger with onion rings and she fully enjoyed it. The wife's cousin had cheeseburger with loaded tots. All very well prepared. Lindzey did a very good job and is very personable with menu recommendations. If I lived here I would be a regular.
We just came off a 12 night cruise, and planned to stay near Moonlit Diner so that we could give it a go. I am here to day that today's breakfast far surpassed any that I had on a Premium cruise. Coffee: hot and fresh. Patty Melt: I might order another but I am concerned that I could pop a button. Moonlite Benedict: the eggs were poached perfectly, and the corned beef hash is the absolute truth. Dosco fries: think Florida poutine. A little black pepper and it is a party in your very happy mouth. Have the Carrot Cake or you will regret it.
Noontime on a typical Sunday. Hustle and bustle of a classic diner that feels good. The vibe is great. The waitresses are very fast and aware of each other, very helpful, and the food is pretty good, too.
Awesome 50's style diner . Lots of nostalgic advertising and photos . Visited by quite a few celebrities as shown in the front entrance of the diner . Great food , reasonably priced . The waitress was super friendly. Well recommended 👌
This diner is my favorite to go to with my children. The employees have such great customer service and treat us like family from when we walk through the door. They make the best milkshakes and really make it a fun experience with my children including giving them coloring sheets and crayons and praising their artwork when they’re finished. They’ve even posted some of the kids coloring sheets so the kids see it when we return, which is incredibly sweet. We’ve been served by waitresses Sarah and Amanda. They both are attentive, and their knowledge of the menu helps us make meal choices we always love. I have fond memories as a child with my family at a local diner where we come from out of state, and I’m so grateful I now have this diner to take my children to create our own special memories together.
The bad reviews almost made me miss this place. Glad we didn't listen to them. BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING. Had good portions too. Idk about lunch but breakfast was awesome.
This place is as charming as it looks. Got breakfast and Sarah and the staff had it out in 5 minutes. Eggs were perfect over easy and bacon was crisp. I need to come back to try the lunch that looks good on the website. Excellent spot for a quick bite with someone you are getting to know.
Amazing! Every time we go here Tina takes care of us and treats us like family! She is truly the highlight of our time at moonlite. Food is incredible and affordable but Tina really brings it all full circle for us. She is an absolute ray of sunshine! Thank you so much Tina!
Such a charming and wonderful place. I brought my Husband here this morning for a date for the first time. BTW could you guys give the lovely woman that was working as our waitress this morning a raise!? We where seated towards the back the second booth before the table. She had a pony tail and she was amazing. Also the cook too omg! We had mozzarella sticks, wings, a burger, and the meatloaf sandwich. It was all exquisite. Keep pushing moonlight you guys are amazing. I've been coming here since I was a kid when the old movie theater was open. You guys made my husband smile and that's another actually. Thank you.❤
Absolute best place to dine in food is fabulous service, incredible atmosphere is insanely beautiful, the vibe is amazing! Amanda and Sarah are incredible!!! Best waitresses ever!!! Love them so much! so blessed to have come here, we hit the gold mine!
Went today for a late breakfast, sat at the bar as a solo diner. Friendly waitress, super tasty food, great prices, and I love a good diner atmosphere! The staff and manager seemed to be having a good time, too, which is always nice to see! I'll definitely be back.
Moonlite Diner at Cypress Creek is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The atmosphere is fun, classic, and energetic—exactly what you want in a great diner. The food is delicious, fresh, and hits the spot every time, and the service is impressively quick without ever feeling rushed. It’s the perfect combo of great vibes, great people, and great food. Easily one of the best diner experiences in Fort Lauderdale—highly recommend!
This legendary diner has been serving South Florida since 1986, consistently delivering an inviting atmosphere, excellent service, and freshly made food daily. From breakfast to dinner, their extensive menu offers a delightful array of American cuisine, and their milkshakes are a must! I particularly enjoy the carrot cake milkshake—it's out of this world!
Great breakfasts. Hard to describe, so you have to pass by to understand. Parking lot is big. Desayunos estupendos.
Ambos estuvieron deliciosos. Y cómo de costumbre, el postre. Sunday de Oreo. Sencillamente magnifico. Me encanto.
Visited from the UK and had to make a visit after passing. Very American contemporary look. Has that old school dining feeling and look. Food was OK. Large portions and reasonably priced.
Nice retro dinner with good food at a good price. We went for breakfast and had special club sandwich, hot cakes, grilled cheese sandwich and eggs. They also have great looking shakes!
When I asked the waiter if I could substitute that biscuit for a pancake, the way she said "NO" to me was a little bit of a turn off 🫢. But other than that it was decent as expected.
You have to come to this retro diner! For the experience alone it’s just cool. The food was ok. I had the cheeseburger and it was delicious. The toppings were very fresh. The fries weren’t great but good. They could have been cooked a touch more for crispness but this is personal preference. Meatloaf was good but the mashed potatoes were powdered so a little disappointed in that. The strawberry milkshake was extraordinary! I should have ordered two of them! We topped it all off with a banana split but again, just ok. Overall, great experience and I would recommend to anyone.
Moonlite never changes .. love this place .. This place is still amazing . the floats, the food ,the carrots cake wow The tuna melt amazing. Fish and chips is on the money Salmon BLT is wow The grilled cheese and tomato soup was amazing. Fish and chips my son said is off the hook. The service was excellent Parking outside Seating is available Music and ambience is just right. The food and spices are on the money. Family oriented and the kids menu is available . Truly recommended
Hey it’s a diner, so the atmosphere is great for the type. The food is great but it’s not a sexy $$$ place to take your wife for your anniversary, it’s a diner. And as far as I’m concerned it’s a wonderful example of that tradition. Good hot quick simple comfort food, prepped right, served hot, the service is fantastic. The country fried steak is done correctly along with all the breakfast options, the turkey dinner platter is always great as is everything I’ve tried on the menu for 25 years. And although I’m not a big portion eater I usually get 3 meals form the one dinner. Typical never ending coffee and drink refills on most items. Breakfast, lunch , dinner or late nite after the show it’s alway what you expected with no surprises. Wonderful veggie burgers, grilled veggies and other options that keep my vegan/vegetarian friends happy too, so we can enjoy meeting there for lunch. Very consistent well prepped food any time you want some.
I've had breakfast and lunch here many times in the past 20 years. Never been in the area at dinner time but pretty sure the whole menu is available. The 'diner' menu has many items to suit your mood. From burgers to eggs and shakes, they give a large serving every time. They even have a Veggie burger :) Sometimes the servers are a little rushed and rude but for the most part, they're polite and quick to get your food and drinks fast. I'm glad this place is around. It's a cool looking box car diner that really gives that diner experience with much better food than any other diner I've been to. There's even outdoor, shaded seating. The reason for the 4 star rating is because of the once in a while rude servers but mainly because of a bus person that works there. She looks at me like I killed her cat or something. That or she just hates people. Very uncomfortable. Overall, awesome place!
I very much enjoyed my visit to the Moonlite diner. They have modeled the diner after a 1950s diner so it has a very cool exterior and a real diner feel inside. My tip: get the 2x breakfast for you want a have a breakfast gorge. You will be filled with meat, pancakes and eggs. Staff were sweethearts and fun to be with.
First time visit; our waitress was very pleasant and the food was good. Amongst us, we tried the salmon BLT, fried shrimp, shrimp and grits, ultimate club, garlic parm wings, and chicken tenders. The atmosphere was uncomfortable as we had to fight with an invasion of gnats, a few flies and some other large unknown bug flying around.
After date night me and my boyfriend were driving home and decided to stop and get food and this place was on the way and we said we wanted to try a diner just to have the experience. Walking in it instantly felt old school, the decor, music and even the restaurant smell all screamed diner. The staff was very friendly quick and attentive. I got a strawberry milkshake which I probably wouldn’t recommend unless you like artificial flavors and no actual taste of strawberry. The burgers were good very basic. Fries tasted great. My favorite thing was the pickles! Overall it’s a nice experience for a diner but if you’re going for food maybe not the best choice unless you want something quick and basic. Maybe the breakfast food options are better.
We stopped in here on our way home from an event in Ft. Lauderdale, because we hadn't been in over a decade and I was wanted some ice cream. We were greeted immediately upon arriving, and were shown to a table. Our server took our drink orders and left us to peruse the menu. When she returned, we ordered the onion ring tower, the mozzarella sticks, the Oreo sundae, and the apple cobbler sundae. The mozzarella sticks and onion rings came out first, and were pretty good! When we had eaten our fill of those, our server brought out the ice creams sundaes. They look enormous, but are actually the perfect size for a sundae. Overall, this place is good. Our server was very friendly, the food was decent, but the diner is showing it's age. The parking lot is ample and easy to navigate. If you go, get the Oreo sundae!
I appreciate diners that offers all day breakfast. With me not being much of an early bird, I don't have to feel the pressure of eating between the normal breakfast hours. Upon entering the diner, I was greeted by the server who led me to an available booth. The diner definitely had that early 80s vibe with retro pictures and signs along the walls. I took a few minutes to overlook the menu as the server came back with my drink. I saw that they have French toast on the menu, but if I wanted anything with it, (eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, etc) it's an additional charge for each....that's messed up. Not wanting to take up too much time, I ordered the French toast and added eggs...just because. When the food arrived a few minutes later, I started with the eggs which was scrambled nicely. Added some salt and pepper for flavor and was enjoying every bite. The French toast was alright. It didn't have that cinnamon flavor that I absolutely love and I also noticed that the bread was not coated in egg batter....which is the main part of making French toast. I originally was gonna give this review two stars, but the eggs was delicious, the service was satisfactory, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I would give Moonlite Diner another chance and try something else next time.
3 stars because I came in with two kids(under 3) by myself and got poor service. If you see a mother struggling and in a hurry, you shouldn't ignore her. You should give her good service so she can hurry up and get out of there before the kids lose it. I had to flag her down multiple times. Even the table that flagged her down for me felt bad. Im traveling solo with my kids. Would not recommend this place for solo moms.
A nice casual diner in the corner of Andrews and Cypress Creek. It has a 1940-50's atmosphere and decoration. The service was fast and nice. They have breakfast all day, hamburguers, great shakes and desserts. We ordered the onion soup, which was not hot, and hamburguers. The blue cheese one had a wonderful taste, but the patties were quite small and not too thick for the price, compared to other restaurants. I chose a side, but to my surprise, onion rings are $2 more. They did give us a senior discount, though.
It was a cute place, friendly staff, good food but nothing spectacular. However the fries are top tier and I would get those alone. There is a parking lot, so plenty of free parking. I’d say price is about $13 a person, depending on any substitutions. Cute old school diner with that feel to it, just a bit too “pricey” for a diner if you ask me.
Service was kind of slow, I’m going to blame it on covid. But besides that the eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast were amazing. The pancakes were horrible, tasted like they dipped it in egg batter. Waitress/manager noticed that I barley touched my pancakes asked if everything was ok, I proceeded to explain that the pancakes were not edible and instead of trying to make it right she proceeded to take my payment and go about her day! 🥲
As others have said, they have great portions and the atmosphere is fun. My food came out fast, and I ate it. But don't let pictures fool you. The roof leaks, my food was bitter because the frying oil is old, and I didn't feel as warmly welcomed as I would have liked for such a charming looking place. Had I been warmly greeted, instead of a begrudging indifference, that would've greatly improved the experience. The prices are fair, and I'm sure that once the frying oil is fresh the food would taste much better, but as a first time experience, I was dissatisfied. The only reason I didn't return my food is because I had been traveling and didn't want to use up more time. I hope that if I ever get another chance, that it'll be better.
We hadn't been here in probably 5 years. Boy! It went downhill. Smelled like moth balls. The mashed potatoes were fake! It's a diner, not ok. The meatloaf was some squishy concoction shaped like a burger with ketchup thrown on the top. Not going back anytime soon.
We get seated and got menu's. 15mins later no server no drink nobody. No one asked what would you like to drink? What would you like to order? Nada, nothing. Then the place was not busy and still no service. Instead the employees were standing around just talking and us just looking at them to be acknowledged. Went to Hooters down the street and within 15mins we got seen we got drinks and food served. Thank you moonlight diner for sending us to Hooters.
Ordered the fish and chips for dinner. The fish had a freezer taste and was chewy. The fries were no better and was thinking they was from lunchtime service. The roof drips water in a few areas and the smell of cleaning solution overpowers your senses. I don't see this place being open much longer.
Waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged, 15 more minutes for our server to get us coffee. Then another 20 minutes for her to take our order and left after an hour as we never got our food. We had to ask for a coffee refill and were informed they were “understaffed” and the hostess was serving today. Horrible experience today! We’re locals and will not ever visit again. You lost 3 customers today. Not one person offered to be of any assistance. They just said “have a nice day”! “Bye”
Not sure how this diner received 4.3 stars. We decided to try it, but will NEVER return. Hash browns tasted like bad, store bought ones in the 1960's. Mashed potatoes were the absolute worst instant mashed potatoes I've ever tasted, and the gravy was horrible. Honey mustard dressing for my sandwich was such an inferior quality. Croissant sandwich fell apart when picked up. I guess you really do get what you pay for...food may be reasonably price, but quality deserves zero stars.
We walked in ready to have a burger, but the scent of air freshener was so strong, I had to leave. The table smelled of a dirty rag. That turned of my husband and we left and went across the street. Ihave always loved that diner but it will take a while before we give it another chance.
Terrible Service!!! Not what you would expect of a diner. My server was terrible. She never once checked on me. She also forgot half of my order. I came here to treat myself to a birthday breakfast and this was a horrible experience. I have eaten here in the past but after this I'll never return. The server treated me like I was invisible walking past several times and not once stopping refill my cup. Didn't even check to see if things were okay.
I came back here specifically because the peanut butter chocolate shake I had on a previous visit was really good. Unfortunately, this visit completely changed my mind about ever returning. On my first visit, the shake was the only highlight. A different employee made it that time and it was smooth, well-balanced, and actually tasted like peanut butter and chocolate. I even tipped her. The food, however, was already disappointing — French toast, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. The hash browns were decent, but the eggs were just okay, and the French toast was overpowering with cinnamon, almost like it was dumped on instead of blended properly. The food also had a strange taste, like it may have been cooked in old grease. Definitely mediocre at best. This time around was much worse. When I came in, the woman who greets you and seats you (an older, heavyset white woman who seems to be in charge) was polite at first. I ordered the same peanut butter chocolate shake. I overheard her ask another employee behind the counter (a Black woman) if she knew how to make it. She said yes and made it — but this version was not the same. The peanut butter was clumpy and not mixed properly, there was barely any chocolate flavor, and there was marshmallow fluff smeared around the glass, which I did not ask for and do not eat. When I asked what it was, I was told it was marshmallow fluff. I explained that I didn’t want that and that the shake didn’t taste right. That’s when the experience went downhill. The woman who seated me became rushed and irritated, firing off questions like “too much peanut butter? not enough? more chocolate? less chocolate?” before abruptly saying she’d make another one. She snatched a cup up, went to the back, and was slamming things around, clearly annoyed. The second shake was even worse. It tasted mostly like plain vanilla, with only a faint hint of peanut butter and chocolate. Completely bland and careless, like it was made just to get it over with. When she came back asking, “Is it better now?” it didn’t feel genuine — it felt like pressure to say yes so she could move on. I paid for it, but I couldn’t even finish it. On top of that, the place itself feels run down. On a previous visit, the outside smelled like urine, and there have been times when aggressive solicitors were right near the entrance, which already made me hesitant to go in. Bottom line: The only reason I came back was for that shake, and the only reason I liked it the first time was because someone else made it. Between the inconsistent quality, poor attitude when a mistake was pointed out, bland food, and overall atmosphere, I won’t ever be returning. If consistency and customer service matter to you, I’d look elsewhere.
Tried this restaurant for the first time today and was very disappointed. The food and service are not worth the trip. The waitress got the order wrong after having told her twice so my friend’s meal had to be remade. Her meal contained zucchini which appeared old. My omelette arrived with burnt toast and I asked if it could be remade. It arrived the second time the same way. When the waitress brought the bill, she said Oh the toast is still burnt!
