I can’t really say enough positive things about this place. We have been getting scones for years from here. To say these scones are the best in the world is still not doing them justice. You almost have to throw away all prior expectations and mental models of what a scone is and simply understand that these scones are beyond next level. They are light, airy, moist, and unlike any other scone you have ever had. The chive and cheese scone is my favorite with the apricot and goat cheese scone coming in at a close second. I have had afternoon high teas all over the world and not a single scone comes close to these. The owner is so nice and a very talented baker. Best scones on this earth by far!
Delicious, homey, and cute. Super friendly staff and quick service. The goat cheese and pluot scone was incredible! Great for breakfast, brunch, or lunch to grab a quick bite 🥪
Great interior, feels very cozy. Sometimes doesn’t mix matcha fully but all other drinks I have tasted are fine. Staff are wonderful and always great with recommendations and answering questions. Price is not too unreasonable.
I've had breakfast here multiple times during my stay in Santa Cruz, not once did it disappoint. The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious. I especially recommend the Otter Latte 🦦
The scones here are absolutely perfect, the best I’ve ever had. The drinks are delicious, i really enjoyed the otter latte. The cafe is very cozy and welcoming. Will come back again and again!
They know how to make a satisfying vegan sandwich! (5/5 green stars) Café Delmarette has a nice cozy feel. There’s an outdoor seating section looking out onto Pacific Ave., and indoor seating with a few tables and a window counter. I had the vegan sandwich special (around $9, incl. tax). I was also tempted by the grilled cheese (cheaper at around $6) but I was glad I went for the vegan option. It was an open-faced sandwich with cilantro pesto, herb-roasted zucchini, avocado, and pea shoots. It was nicely seasoned and came with plenty of toppings and a side of Kettle chips. I could tell that the staff members were nice by the way they patiently dealt with a guy who wandered in with some flowers, looking for a container, and then tried to pinch a few flowers from a vase in the café! I’m also giving Café Delmarette 5/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • They make their own hemp and almond milk! They also stock soy, coconut and coconut-almond milk. • Coffee from good local roasters: Verve, Sightglass, Cat and Cloud, Andytown, and Chromatic. • The menu varies according to what's in season and they use organic ingredients when possible. • Most of the menu is vegan or vegetarian and for meat they list sources (e.g., Niman Ranch bacon). • They serve organic Tcho hot chocolate and homemade organic watermelon juice and lemonade. • For breakfast you can have organic oatmeal, Strauss yoghurt and granola, or organic quinoa with almonds. Find out more at the Green Stars Project.
Gorgeous little place with a soul, great sandwiches and coffee, and the friendliest people, definitely a place worth visiting!
Excellent service. First time here, i really liked it. Very professional and polite. I tried the matcha latte for the first time and it was delicious. They also sell food like soup and sandwiches that looked delicious. I will try one of those very soon. Located right next to Del mar theatre. No restrooms available and there is outside seating.
I had their breakfast sandwich and Burundi pour over black coffee and both were very tasty.
Amazing homemade dairy-alternative milks, kind staff, lovely vibe. I always meet sweet people here. Local, fresh and high quality. So happy to have found this place :)

The Matcha Oats Bowl was a standout here, insanely light but super flavorful. Service was fast, staff was knowledgeable, would come again!
Yoooo so good. Prices are awesome. Matcha oatmeal the best in the world. I’m sold.
We were searching for a scone and coffee while in Santa Cruz and read the raving reviews about the scones here! Happy to say they did not disappoint!! Delicious and light, and packed with flavour! And coffee was great too! Perfect morning stop before heading north to hike in the redwoods and hills!
The place of my dreams! Colorful salads, nice coffees, and delectable pastries galore!!! Thank you for being a cornerstone of my life while I worked downtown in Santa Cruz. Everyone should go here and watch the world go by on their patio. <3

We’re not from the area and came here to kill some time before an appointment. To say that scones are the best we’ve ever had isn’t doing any justice to how delicious they are.

Absolutely the best cappuccino that I've ever had. Made perfectly, and super fast, at a very reasonable price. In fact their pricing seems like it's almost pre COVID level. There are a lot of small coffee shops in downtown Santa Cruz and this is the best! Great eclectic vibe with a small bit of inside seating and a nice outside patio. Stop by and get a cup!
The coffee was OK. Nothing memorable for their drip. They do have lots of options so perhaps others are better (or worse). The grilled cheese sandwich but extremely greasy. The chips with it were homestyle kettle fried and very oily too. Maybe other dishes are better or less fatty. A few tables outside. Inside was cramped.
We were searching for pour over around the area. So glad to find this amazing little spot with a good selection of pour over! $4 each and they tastes so good. Great service. Friendly staff. Price is on point. Cozy vibe and nice outdoor tables to let you enjoy your drink and breakfast. They seem to have some delicious sandwiches too.
Small sandwich shop in the middle of town. Good food selection, sandwich was of high quality, and the coffee was amazing. Nice seating area outside as they are still restricting seating inside. The inside is small regardless, so will be best to be outside, especially on a good sunny day.

Seems like they have fallen off since the manager lady stopped coming in. The baked goods are increasingly uninspiring, the service increasinly unpleasant and aggressive. Some individuals more than others. Its seems like a big party for the employees every time im in there. They seem more interested in each other than the customers. Love this place but I think what made me love it has since gone away. Alas, we are we we are.

I dont know if its just the two drinks me and my girlfriend got but this place taste wise was extremely disappointing. The atmosphere and workers here are extremely nice and definitely makes you believe that you’re about to get good tasting high quality drinks but despite the amazing atmosphere and workers the drinks themselves were extremely disappointing and tasted very watered down and not up to cafe quality. I haven’t tried the food here yet so maybe that tastes good but the drinks I got have made me carful to ever come here again. Also I dont know if its was just the time that I went but closing a Cafe at 3pm is just absurd.
Place has gone down hill. It's always cluttered and a mess, very dim lighting. Baristas and staff always look mad or depressed. 8 dollars for a tiny cup of steamed milk with powders and fake honey total ripoff. Go to Cat n Cloud instead. Way better
