Food was great but the customer service was awesome. Farhan in the front end and Marwan in the kitchen they both were down to earth and gave an Amaxing experience. We dined in and for a bit we experienced the Aiuthentic Hyderabad Nawabi Cuisine at its best. Literally felt like I was back home for a few hours that we spent there, a must try place for a warm and cozy Experience. Keep it up guys.
I had ordered one tray of Mutton Biryani and half a tray of Veg Biryani and I must say, I was blown away. Being born and raised in hyderabad, I’ve been a dum biryani lover since childhood. For me, biryani has always meant asli hyderabadi dum biryani, and my all time fav spot back home has been "Shah Ghouse". Naturally, my expectations outside hyderabad are always super low. But the moment I tasted Chowrasta’s biryani, my mouth watered instantly, and I felt a wave of nostalgia. The aroma reminded me of home. It’s rare to find such asli hyderabadi biryani outside hyd, but Chowrasta has truly brought that experience here to Fremont. Heartfelt thanks to the chefs, you didn’t just serve biryani, you brought back memories of hyd. For any true biryani lover, this place is a must try. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended!
Chowrasta Restaurant serves biryani with authentic Indian spices that I absolutely loved. Mutton biryani is my favorite it is excellent, along with all the desserts. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Indian food.
Mutton Biryani, Majestic chicken and Mutton Haleem are #1 in the Bay Area. We can feel the Hyderabad flavors. Don't forget to have Irani chai, the best in town. Keep rocking for outstanding food.Loved it.
Just Got a chance to try the Newly opened Indian Restaurant in Fremont. Truly delicious food and amazing hospitality. I tried most of the items available during their soft opening and I could say definitely their Mutton Biryani , Haleem and Chicken 65 is one of the best in the Bay Area with rich flavors of Hyderabad. They have used perfect blend of spices making their dishes to true perfection. What I have liked the most is the owners speaking personally with customers and taking feedback. Looking forward for more amazing food in Fremont.
If you’re looking for authentic Hyderabadi food that’s full of heart, flavor, and warm hospitality — Chowrasta is an absolute must-visit. This place isn’t just another restaurant; it feels like a culinary passion project. The owner, a chemical engineer turned chef, has poured his soul into bringing his mother’s traditional recipes to life. And trust me — you can taste love and legacy in every single bite. What We Tried (and loved!): • Chicken Sticks – Juicy, perfectly spiced, and grilled just right. It was my first time trying this particular flavor and it blew me away. A definite must-try! • Talawa Gosht – A Hyderabadi classic done to perfection. Tender, thin slices of meat with crispy edges and layers of spice. So addictive — we couldn’t stop picking at it. • Chicken 65 – Crispy, tangy, spicy — exactly what you'd expect from this iconic street food, but with a gourmet twist. • Majestic Chicken – Creamy, mildly spiced, and totally unique. It's got this rich, comforting flavor that makes it stand out from your typical Indian chicken dishes. • Chef’s Special Chicken Curry – This one’s comfort in a bowl. Rich and aromatic without being heavy, with perfectly cooked chicken and a balanced blend of spices. You’ll be thinking about this curry long after the meal is over. • Mutton Biryani – Honestly, one of the best biryanis I’ve had in the Bay Area. Fragrant rice, tender mutton, and a beautiful balance of flavors — not greasy, not overwhelming, just spot-on. • Irani Chai – Smooth, milky, slightly sweet — the perfect way to wrap up a hearty meal. One of the highlights of the evening? The owner himself came out to chat with us. He walked us through the story behind each dish, how it’s prepared, and what makes it special. You can tell he’s truly passionate about the food he’s serving — and rightly so. The staff was also incredibly warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel homely and welcoming. It’s rare to find a spot where passion meets precision, but Chowrasta pulls it off beautifully. The flavors are bold but balanced, the ingredients are fresh, and there’s a genuine soul to the cooking that’s hard to come by. If you love Indian food — or just good food, this spot will leave you planning your next visit before you've even finished dessert.
If you haven’t been here, please go! You won’t regret it. The meat was tender, the dishes were beautifully flavorful. The staff was very kind to my father with throat cancer and gave him a complimentary cream dessert which was also amazing. I finished the meal with a luxurious saffron chai that was absolutely worth the extra dollar. This wasn’t eating, it was a culinary experience. Go and enjoy your life.
Biryani and Chicken 65 were as delicious as expected — full of authentic flavor and perfectly spiced. But the real surprise was the fruit cream — absolutely amazing! Fresh, light, and bursting with flavor. Didn’t expect it to be this good. Must try!!
I was travelling to San Francisco and was recommended chowrasta by a friend of mine , the place had a great vibe and the food was amazing especially the Hyderabadi biryani. The service was also good and the owner is really friendly and makes sure customers are well taken care of.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic experience at Choarasta! From the moment we started with the appetizers to the very last bite of dessert — everything was perfect! The starters were super delicious 🤤, the main course was packed with flavors 😍, and the desserts were just heavenly 🍰🍨. The presentation, the taste, the service — all top notch 👌. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience! Will definitely visit again 💯❤️ #Foodie #ChoarastaMagic
The taste and ambiance are on point. 🍽️✨ 🔥 **Must-try dishes:** 🍗 **Chicken 65 with Rumali** – Spicy, crispy, and pairs perfectly with soft rumali roti! 🍖 **Mutton Haleem** – Rich, creamy, and packed with authentic flavors! 🤤 🍢 **Chicken Sticks** – Juicy, tender, and grilled just right! 🍛 **Mutton Biryani** – Absolutely delicious! The rice was fragrant, the mutton was tender, and the flavors were spot on! 😍👌 Highly recommended for biryani and Hyderabadi food lovers! Can’t wait to visit again! 😋🔥
If one is craving authentic desi-Hyderabadi flavors, this spot in Fremont is a must-try. Their chicken biryani hits the mark perfectly—aromatic, beautifully spiced, good chicken portions and the rice is cooked to perfection. Every bite feels like proper ghar-ki-biryani vibes. The haleem is equally impressive—rich, hearty, and full of that traditional taste you can only get when it’s made with patience. On top of that, the service is super quick, which makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real, flavorful desi comfort food.
We ordered chicken biryani and chicken sticks. The biryani tasted exactly like hyderabadi chicken biryani but the chicken wasn’t enough compared to the rice quantity. The chicken sticks were very oily and chewy. Wouldn’t order the chicken sticks again. Irani chai is tasty. Definitely going to try their mutton biryani next time.
Recently, my friend ordered biryani, i think it was on Sunday and we had colleagues from France, Iran, and many other nationalities. I was a little worried at first and thought maybe we should go with Mediterranean cuisine to keep it lighter and avoid any risk. Alhamdulillah, the mutton biryani was not just good but everyone loved it. One person even said he got food seven times! May Allah grant barakah. Ameen.
Chowrasta in Fremont continues to impress with its unbeatable Hyderabadi flavors. The mutton biryani is always top-notch — aromatic, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It’s easily one of the best you’ll find in the Bay Area. What truly sets this place apart is the warmth of the experience. The beloved owner is incredibly humble and always takes time to chat whenever I visit, whether it’s lunch or dinner. Today during my visit, owner graciously offered me Haleem to try — and once again, it was pure heaven. Rich, smooth, and packed with authentic flavor. Delicious food, heartfelt hospitality, and the feeling of home — Chowrasta is a gem you’ll want to keep coming back to.
I absolutely love the biryani from Chowrasta! After my first visit, I’ve been ordering from them every weekend. My whole family enjoys it, and it has definitely become our favorite spot for biryani. I highly recommend everyone to try it — I’m sure you’ll love it just as much as we do!
I visited first time and the food is soo delicious and authentic Hyderabadi. I tasted mutton biryani, Haleem and stick chicken and majestic chicken. They all were soo yummy made me feel like I am in Hyderabad and that topped with Irani chai. I could not rate one less than the other. Even though I was visiting San Jose planning to come back to this restaurant again with my family whenever I am here.
One of the best Mutton Biryani! The most pleasantly flavored biryani in recent times. Not too spicy, not oily and can still taste the flavor of meat. Chicken strips were really flavorful with a perfect dipping sauce. Irani chai is decent. Couldn't try much of the options as they were still ramping up the menu and it was a weekday. They still serve in to go boxes and i wish they do a better dine in experience.
Fremont is a filled with many different kinds of Hyderabadi food but Chowrasta is different from all other places. I can say it has the best biriyani, you cannot find food like this in the entire Bay Area. Their service is amazing and very friendly staff. Highly recommend this place
The food and flavors are just incredible. We ordered mutton biryani, goat haleem couple of days back and both were amazing. The depth of flavor reminded me of biryani from Bawarchi and Shadab from Hyderabad city in India. Since the food was delicious, tried chicken65 and chicken majestic and both were fantastic. All the best!
I was craving for authentic Hyderabadi cuisine and heard about CHOWRASTA, I would highly recommend this restaurant to guys looking for good Hyderabadi food. I loved the Goat Haleem, mutton biryani and majestic chicken. The Tea after the meal was a delight. The service was very friendly. Overall had a great experience!
We recently visited here, and it truly felt like a slice of Hyderabad right here in the Bay! Every dish had that authentic touch and homely warmth you rarely find these days. We tried the Mutton Haleem, Mutton Biryani, Chicken 65, Majestic Chicken, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Sticks and loved them all! *The mutton haleem was rich, hearty, and full of flavor. *Must try *The Hyderabadi biryani stood out with perfectly cooked rice, tender zabiha halal, and that unmistakable dum aroma. *Must try *Chicken 65 had soft, balanced flavoring not overpowering at all. *Majestic chicken instantly reminded us of Hyderabadi wedding dinners (so nostalgic!). *The butter chicken was creamy, buttery, and smooth exactly how it should be. *And those chicken sticks? Perfect starters crispy, juicy, and best enjoyed hot right out of the fryer with their dip. For desserts, the Apricot Delight was just uff, amazing!!! so well done, and the Fruit Trifle was equally good. We ended the meal with a cup of super Irani chai, and mango lassi which wrapped up everything perfectly. The restaurant has a simple, classic Hyderabadi ambiance, with both indoor and outdoor seating and great natural lighting. I also really appreciated the small prayer corner they’ve thoughtfully provided such a nice touch. Everything was clean, service was friendly, and overall hygiene was good too. Definitely visiting here again.
I had the best goat dum biryani in North America here, truly authentic Hyderabadi style. The rice is flavored with the perfect amount of masala and the meat is extremely tender. The food taste and quality is miles ahead than all other bay area restaurants and puts it in another league of its own.
Chowrasta is a gem in Fremont. The dishes feel rooted in Hyderabad’s heritage yet have a unique twist that makes every bite stand out. You can tell some of the recipes come straight from family traditions, and that depth of flavor really shows. Fantastic food, warm service, and a place I’m definitely coming back to.
Hands down, the best biryani that I've had in the bay area!!!! Their mutton biryani is other worldly 😅. Rice and the meat are perfectly cooked and extremely flavourful. Also tried the chicken sticks and eat them when they're hot - very crispy and subtle flavors. The staff is super friendly. They also have a wide variety of desserts. All in all 100% would recommend!!!
If you’re craving authentic Hyderabadi flavors, CHOWRASTA is the place to be. From the moment you step in, the aroma of spices and slow-cooked delicacies transports you straight to the streets of Hyderabad. The highlight of the menu is, of course, the Hyderabadi biryani—perfectly cooked basmati rice infused with fragrant spices and tender, juicy meat. The mirchi ka salan and raita served alongside enhance the dish beautifully. Other standouts include the rich and creamy Haleem, the spicy and flavorful Chicken 65. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes and quality of food. Given the authenticity and richness of the dishes, it’s worth every penny. Whether you’re a fan of Hyderabadi cuisine or trying it for the first time, CHOWRASTA delivers an unforgettable culinary experience. Highly recommended for food lovers looking for bold flavors and traditional charm. Planning to try the whole menu slowly. Thanks alot for having us.
The food at Chowrasta is an absolute treat for anyone craving the real taste of Hyderabad! The Hyderabadi Biryani was so authentic that we genuinely felt like we were back in Hyderabad. You could taste the authenticity in every bite. And the Apricot Delight? Insanely good. Soft layers of pudding, dry fruits, cake, and that shiny silver vark on top, are such a satisfying way to end the meal. Everything we tried was full of flavor and done right. If you’re missing out on the true taste of Hyderabad, definitely check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!
We did a takeout. The food was ready in 10 minutes. Food items were hot when we picked them up. Decor: Simple, elegant and clean. They have an outdoor patio as well. It looked good. Service: Friendly staff. They told us that they were going to add vegetarian items to the menu. Food: DAAicious. Mutton biryani was really good and definitely of higher quality compared to the other biryani places in Fremont. Perfectly cooked meat with flavorful rice. It’s a must try item. The biryani came with mirch ka salang which was soooo good. They should add this Salang as a veggie item. Their Haleem is the best one I’ve tasted in the Bay Area. Chicken 65 came with Rumali roti. Rumali roti was thin and soft. My kids loved it. I’m definitely going back to try out their kabobs and other items.
Best. Biryani. Ever. I’m glad to have found this place. Chicken biryani is very flavorful yet not overwhelmingly spicy. Even the rice had good flavor to it. Chicken majestic was heavenly. It comes with big rumali roti. They got very small menu and variety of traditional deserts. Place is simple and limited seating. Highly recommended for non vegetarian meals!

Amazing Food with authentic hyderabadi flavors. I had best mutton biryani after i left hyderabad 2 yrs ago. Majestic chicken was incredibly tasty. The 1st bite literally sent me bk to hyderabad. We in our family r super foodies...n we cook v well so we literally know the authentic taste which Chowrasta provided. We enjoyed the dinner very much Will come back soon to try diff items The chicken sticks were too good too. My children loved the chicken 65 I wish n hope they stay consistent in the taste. Its been several years since I had such Mutton Biryani. Its easily be one of the best biryanis I have ever had in all of the United States. The rice is cooked perfect and the mutton is well cooked. The biryani that was served is piping hot, you could sense that its just taken out of the Dum.
We’ve ordered food from Chowrasta multiple times and the quality remains unmatched. We frequently order Mutton Biryani, Haleem, Chicken 65, Chicken sticks and the chai. The taste is authentic and consistent. Always a pleasure to eat here!
Alhamdulillah, Had an excellent experience at Chowrasta Restaurant. The Chicken 65 and Majestic Chicken were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Butter Chicken with rumali roti was absolutely delicious rich, creamy, and the roti was soft and fresh. We also tried haleem, Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani, and mutton dum biryani, everything tasted authentic and well balanced with spices. Mango Delight and Fruit Cream were amazing and refreshing. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick, making the overall experience even better. Highly recommended for authentic Hyderabadi food!
Brought my brothers family here to break their fast for ramadan. The food was fantastic. The lamb was juicy and fell right off the bone. The chicken was spicy and full of flavor. The menu has select items which make it excellent since the store focuses on what it knows it can make well. I will definitely come here again. Prices were fair and dessert was also delicious.
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful dining experience my family and I had at Chowrasta. It is a nice, neat, and clean place to enjoy nostalgic Hyderabadi food. As a vegetarian, I ordered the world-famous Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, and it was outstanding. The Biryani arrived piping hot and full of an aroma that instantly transported us to Hyderabad. My family and I found it fantastic, yummy, and flavorful—we truly felt like we were devouring "God's nectar (Devamrutham)." The rice was perfectly fluffy, separate, and non-sticky. We were so hungry and excited to eat that we actually forgot to take pictures! I also wanted to personally thank you for being so kind, polite, and accommodative during our visit.

We got chicken biryani. Seemed like double masala style. Loved the spice n favor of chicken dum biryani. Next time will be back to try same with less pieces n more rice and play around spice levels.
5/4/25 Sunday. Chicken majestic with roomali roti, chicken sticks all taste good. Mulberry shehdood taste OK. Paid $38.55 4/25/25 Friday live very close by & last night I noticed this newly opened restaurant. Looks hidden n it's not commercial location but front of kaiser hospital/emergency. Interior is very simple n limited menu. Prices r slightly higher. Tried Apricot delight, chicken sticks and to go mutton biryani. Paid $42.42, All taste very good except mutton biryani was OK (2 big bones with meat n 2 small pcs too dry). Thanks to Umar he recommend for Apricot delight. Will come back again n try more menu items.
Very close to Hyderabad taste… perfect irani chai…biryani was the best… need some improvement in mixing the masala proportion… talawa ghost was good with rumali roti

This is possibly the best mutton biryani I’ve ever had in the Bay Area. Succulent mutton pieces with the right amount of spice and the best part - it is doesn’t have that goat after taste. It’s not a proper restaurant ie they give you food in takeout boxes and you can eat there. I guess the owners are operating like a tech startup. Bottom line is that the product is fantastic. Would love to go there more often if they provide proper restaurant style service.
The biryani was tasty and the chai was excellent, but I was overall really disappointed with the value for money. They were also completely out of any vegetable sides at the start of lunch, so there was nothing to pair it with. I ordered the family size lamb biryani for $36, thinking based on the cost and amount of meat if I bought this lamb at whole foods this was the aluminum tray pictured. No it was just a plate of rice barely twice the size of my hand. The aluminum tray? $210!!!!!!!!! How can they justify that for not that much for a bit of lamb and rice? Can they not find a vegetable to cook?
Chowrasta comes across as a good alternative to Deccan morsels style restaurants. It’s more hygienic and has a better vibe but we were disappointed on the main segment - food taste :). Majestic chicken had a strong scent of turmeric, likely this ingredient was used too much, nevertheless it did have an effect on the taste. On the other hand, the chicken 65 had more red color than needed. Both starters weren’t that good. The biryani was good, it had a good balance of masala and the chicken was cooked well. I’d likely come back again only for the biryani - will do a take out and skip the hassle of dining in, which is what we did today and didn’t like at all. The food comes in to-go boxes anyway, might as well bring it home and eat:).
Overhyped? I’m not sure I get the rave reviews. Pros: • Fresh biryani around lunchtime • Nice, cool decor and overall restaurant vibe Cons: 1. Maybe it’s just me and my expectations, but the biryani felt very different .. and it’s a good things it’s different than what you usually get at Bay Area joints. But it didn’t live up to the hype. The meat was undercooked, and overall the flavor didn’t hit — unsatisfying masala, nothing close to authentic Hyderabad-style dum biryani. 2. The restaurant feels disorganized — boxes everywhere, near bathrooms, like they’re still setting up. Hopefully, they tidy up soon. 3. Bathrooms aren’t very clean. 4. Food was served in a to-go box, which felt off to me. Not a great experience. 5. $21 for mutton biryani that tastes just average. Verdict: Worth trying once, but probably not more than that. Some may love it, but it wasn’t to my taste.

Tried chicken & mutton biryani both tasted good, but they asked us to clear up a table while we are dining in eating the food. That's very wrong of them while we are eating the food, for that reason we have to leave early without having the satisfaction of enjoying the food.
The food was average, falling short of the standards expected in Bay Area Hyderabadi/Andhra cuisine. Chicken 65: The color was too intense and the chicken was overly greasy and soggy. I didn't enjoy it much. Mandi: The mandi itself was average, and the mutton lacked depth of flavor. The rice was a bit dry, but the flavor was acceptable. Briyani: Oh come on, you can do better than this! It's not very good. Tea: It's a little too sweet for me, but otherwise, I like it. The service is similar to McDonald's, with ordering at the counter, self-service for plates, cutlery, and cleanup. It is primarily a take-away establishment. I went with high hopes, but I was disappointed. Parking can be limited, but you can usually find a spot behind the building.

The food wasn’t bad, and this was actually our second time visiting. However, this visit turned out to be a little disappointing. Firstly, our order did not go through. Secondly, the place seemed overwhelmed with orders. I completely understand that it can get busy, but the way the person at the counter handled the situation felt quite rude. It would have been much nicer if he had simply said something like, “Sorry, we are no longer taking orders due to the overwhelming response,” instead of responding in a dismissive manner. I understand that managing a large number of orders can be stressful, but that’s still not a reason to be rude to customers. A little courtesy and respect go a long way. Respect given is respect received.
We had a bad experience during and after the food from this restaurant. After reading positive reviews we were excited to have authentic Hyderabadi biriyani and some other dishes. Some of the issues we have experienced during this visit. 1. Butter chicken had a lot of color. We could feel the taste of color. 2. We did dine in but still the food came in plastic container which is unhealthy and adding more plastic waste. 3. Chicken dum biriyani had too much of garam masala which overrides all other taste. 4. My wife got stomach upset and got migraine after having the food which underscores how unhealthy the food was. 5. Majestic chicken was too oily and we took only the top part and left the oiled part floating in the bottom of the plastic container.
idk how some people are saying this is the best biryani in Bay area lol, its probably not even top 5. We had to wait 40 mins for the biryani and the worst part is that they served at least 4 customers who came after us. Onto the biryani it had no flavor, all white meat and white rice although we clearly asked for spicy. Honestly the worst biryani I had in Bay area. Would not have it again even if i was given for free
Worst apricot delight on the planet. This dessert is made in the laziest way imaginable. There is no puree at all, no effort, and no balance. It’s just chunks of apricots dumped into heavy sugar syrup, a few random bread pieces, and a very thin layer of custard that barely exists. Nothing feels properly prepared — it tastes rushed and careless. Charging $8 for a tiny cup of this is pure audacity. Completely disappointing and absolutely not worth the price.
