Love this place! Been coming here for the past 12 years. Love the friendly staff and the food is great! We like our sashimi thick and that's why we keep coming back.

We've stopped in here a couple times over the past two months or so. Used to stop in a long time ago when my daughter was still a baby. She's going to be 11 soon, so it's been a while. But this place is still a nice place to stop in. Ramen is really good. Rolls are good and meet, if not exceed, what one would expect. And the staff is always so kind and attentive. We have a table we like to sit at, and it's quiet enough that we can have our own conversations without being drowned out by surrounding chatter. It's a good place to be able to unwind a bit and just enjoy your dinner with family.

Great place for authentic Japanese cuisine! I got the Chicken Katsu Bento box and for $20 ish you get ALOT of food like way more than $20 normally gets you now a days. The ower is a great man running the restaurant mainly by himself and he deserves your patronage. I hope he gets a better location one day because I firmly believe the only reason he's not always busy with line stretching out the door is due to the area. I can't wait to go again and try the other sushi rolls and alcohol he has to offer

This is such an authentic place to eat I love their ramen and sushi. If you want more private eating I suggest going in from 11am-2. Keep in mind in the morning there is only one person who serving and taking orders. He is really polite and friendly he will give you space and great service.

I've been coming to S 21 since I was a senior in high school. Best sushi place for the price and flavor hands down! They've got the best Tempura Udon around! The owner is very kind and always hospitable when we come by. The sushi is always amazing and flavorful, and the atmosphere is lovely. Perfect place for families, dates, and even just yourself, they have a sake bar. I have never gotten sick from this restaurant and I have never eaten a disappointing dish. I'm a very happy regular customer at S 21.

My husband and I absolutely love going to S21, we live 45 minutes away but it's worth it. We went again last night and enjoyed everything we ordered, the chef is incredibly nice and brings the food out himself. Their all you can eat sushi is the best in Fresno and their Ramen is delicious. Highly recommend!

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Fresno. The food is amazing, always fresh tasting & delicious. The staff & owners work so hard & deserve all of the business they can get. I recommend this place to everyone over any other Japanese restaurant. Covid was tough on them, & as it was with many other businesses. Go eat, you will not be disappointed!

This restaurant is actually quite nice. The man who was my waiter took very good care of me and was very sweet. This place has a nice, relaxed atmosphere with good music. I can't hear traffic outside thank goodness. The food is also delicious. My roll was exploding with flavor and the sauce was smooth with it too. The takoyaki was delicious which is always my go to if a restaurant has it.

I got the rockstar roll and I have to say it’s one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had it was super fresh and tasted amazing. My husband had the katsu chicken plate and he says that was also amazing the rice was cooked really well and the chicken was cooked almost perfectly and the veggies that come with it were very savory. He also ordered a cocktail and said it was really really good. The service was amazing they weren’t over bearing and they were very sweet respectful and timely. The atmosphere seemed a little out dated but overall was very clean and modest. Will comeback again soon!

The service was prompt and friendly. Flavors were good and well prepared. The tempera could have been a little more crunchy but that is just me nit picking. The baked mussels were well balanced and not over-sauced like other places might do. The mussel flavor was center, as it should be. On the ramen side, thr milky ramen is hard to steer clear and one of our group always gets a bowl. The noodles are tender and not rubbery or mush. The broth has a creamy and delightful presence on the tongue. Add in some hot oil for a kick and it is a dish you will keep coming back for. I would give 5-stars if the tempera was more crunchy. This is a worthwhile place to eat.

Decent size sushi, more rice then most places which fills you up faster, if you love to eat sushi there $27.99 all you can eat dinner price is fair considering you can order a total of 6 rolls...."not all you can eat" but with that said the rolls are more bulky then most places and decently priced. The sushi was decent if you love avocado they do you right here. Overall decent experience. We got one all you can eat, and the others had 2 rolls a piece sharing gyoza, shrimp temupra, & edamame. $98 for 3 people and a 3 year old.

Amazing food. Only receiving 4 stars because there was only 1 waitress struggling to take orders, bring the bill to tables, clear tables, bring food to the tables and so on. She was doing well, however more waiters/waitresses are needed.

Glad I stopped in. This was my first time here and I enjoyed it. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box and the spicy crab roll. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The bento box was accompanied by a nice fresh salad. However, I consumed the salad and the spicy crab roll before taking pictures lol. I will go back again.

My first experience in this place on a Friday night. The place was understaffed, our hot food was cold and very late coming to the table. One of us ate a time as our food came out so slow. The sushi was ok, but the pieces of fish cut uneven, the rolls very loosely wrapped and hard to grab without falling apart. Not the best impression overall.

The food was delicious and the one waiter was doing his level best to keep the place together. The benches we sat at were in disrepair, held together with duct tape and dreams. Why 2 stars then? That seems a little harsh for slow service and old furniture. Well we had to kill 2 cockroaches that were scurrying behind my wife and daughter. Disgusting to say the least and we noped right out of there as quick as we could. No offer of a discount, or thanks for bringing it to their attention. Makes me think this is normal.

Food was okay, but the thing that turned me off more was the bathrooms. They were very dirty, looks like walls, counters, toilet and baseboards need a good spring cleaning. Lol I wouldn't go there again just based on how gross their bathroom was, it made me wonder what their back kitchen looked like.

Save yourself the time and skip the “all you can eat” sushi. I cannot speak on the quality of their food as the dull ambience, unenthusiastic staff and poor roll selection was enough for me to find another place to eat. Not to mention the hefty charge for AYCE is nowhere near competitive. Doesn’t even look like a restaurant from outside. How is this place still in business?

While the service and atmosphere were nice, unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the food. I ordered a chicken teriyaki lunch special and I was not impressed at all, especially since it was $15 dollars. I wanted to like it here but I was left really disappointed with the food I received. Perhaps their soups and sushi are good but forget about the plates.

Definitely not "all you can eat sushi" like they claim. For $28 they only allow you to have 3 orders the first round, 2 orders the second round and 1 order the last round. I wish someone told us this before we came here. They pack so much rice on your sushi rolls that you can't even make it to second round. I had to pick some rice off of my rolls. I felt their sushi lacked a lot of quality here. Service was good. Sushi was decent. I've had better!

I recommend stating away from this place. The food was just ok, the service is so so, but what is most disturbing is they offer all you can eat sushi $27.99 but you have a selective menu, you are watched the entire time to make sure you don't share your food otherwise they will ask you to leave. We observed this behavior towards another table. If you choose the all you can eat sushi be careful, they will charge you for anything you don't finish as well as the $27.99 and depending on how much you have left determines the price that gets added to your bill. 4 or less pieces additional $5 anything more gets charged at regular sushi price. Oh... and did I mention you get charged for any left overs and your not allowed to take it with you. Hmmm... do they use it to serve another guest. If we pay for the food you should be able to take the food. We will never go back to this restaurant and would advise others not to waste your time there. Oh... I forgot to mention if you choose the all you can eat sushi they make you sign a contract. Lol

The tempura was soggy, the rolls were loose and bland, I ordered the all you can eat for 39.99 and left far before I was full. The rules of the “ayce” is 1:30 but the person making the sushi goes so slow that even if you did stay, you’d only get maybe 3 rounds. I was the only guest in the restaurant and the person waiting on me/making the sushi seemed to get so angry every time I ordered that it honestly killed my appetite. Then when all was said and done (I left not one grain of rice) the bill was $10 more than advertised. Very much not worth it. I was so sad to see this because I really wanted it to be good:(
