Had the half portion of Tandoori Chicken and the Station Mutton Biryani, and both were absolutely delicious. The tandoori chicken was perfectly marinated, juicy on the inside, and beautifully charred on the outside with authentic smoky flavors. The mutton biryani was rich, aromatic, and well-balanced — tender pieces of mutton, flavorful rice, and a perfect blend of spices without being overpowering. You can really taste the quality, freshness, and attention to detail in the preparation. Definitely a satisfying experience, and I’ll be coming back again to try more dishes. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic desi flavors! 🔥🍗🍚
The mandi was very satisfying, with generous portions, so make sure you go when you’re properly hungry. Quantity is definitely a highlight here. There’s also a wide menu, offering plenty of options beyond biryani — including chicken and shrimp dishes, which makes it a good spot if you want to try different items on repeat visits. Overall, great value for money with filling portions and variety.
There’s a saying that if an ethnic restaurant is busy it must be really good. If like me you enjoy a busy place with hustle and bustle of people, a truly lively place that reminds you of home then you should visit Desi District at Frisco. I tried pani puri and it was so to die for. I learned that different regions in India serve pani puri differently. If you have never had pani puri with warm stuffing then you should try it. I also got an order of masala dosa and couldn’t get enough of its flavor. This is a really busy place so naturally the service is not going to be instant and yet the staff are friendly and polite. I enjoyed conversing with several of them at different parts of the restaurant (main place to order, live pani puri, live masala, chai & sweets) the restaurant offers regular meals for individual purchase and meals that are meant for large groups and are served on pretty large round plates, making the experience pretty unique. One of the items on the menu that caught my eye was “Bahubali Mandi“. I would love to return with family and try that meal. The restaurant is perfect for large groups and has seating both on the ground floor and on the second floor as well. Would certainly recommend Desi district.
I recently visited Desi District in Frisco and tried their jalebi, chicken mandi, and haleem—everything tasted great! The jalebi was perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of sweetness, making for a delightful treat. The chicken mandi had beautifully cooked rice with well-seasoned, tender chicken, delivering authentic flavors. The haleem was rich, flavorful, and had a smooth, comforting texture. Overall, the food was delicious, and the experience was satisfying. Definitely a spot worth visiting for anyone craving good Desi flavors!
Just did a pick up order. Fast and friendly Service. Good size portions and reasonable pricing.

We visited Desi District in Dallas with a group of friends and had a really good time! The ambience is modern yet cozy — a nice blend of casual and lively that makes it a great place to hang out, chat, and enjoy flavorful Indian street food with a twist. We tried quite a few dishes — vada pav, chicken frankie, mutton khati roll, chicken manchuria momos, and bun maska with chai — and everything tasted pretty good. Each dish had its own authentic touch and was well-prepared, fresh, and flavorful. But the real star of the night was definitely the lamb chops — juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. For the price point, they’re absolutely worth it and stand out as one of the best items on the menu. Overall, Desi District is a fun spot with great vibes, tasty food, and solid value for money. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed Desi dining experience in Dallas.
Its a cafe style place. Pani puri was great n spicy. Tandoori chicken was amazing. Naam was and dal fry was yumm as well. But I didn't like the samber 🤢 n onion pakora. Otherwise a great place to hang out! Oh ya and chai was good too. (Green cardamom lovers) Totally gives you Bharat cafe vibes.
Great dining experience, especially if you’re a fan of Mandi. The Juicy Mutton Mandi is definitely the highlight—tender, flavorful mutton with perfectly cooked rice that’s rich in taste and aroma. One big plate is more than enough for 4-5 people, making it a great option for groups. The mutton pieces are well-cooked and satisfying, while the rice is packed with flavor. However, the chicken fry piece was a bit salty, which was a slight downside. Overall, the food quality is impressive, and the portion sizes are generous. If you’re craving good Mandi, Desi District is definitely worth a visit!
Desi District was the first place I visited in Dallas, and it didn’t disappoint! I had a good dining experience here. The dine-in area was spacious, with seating available both on the second floor and near the counter. I ordered the juicy mutton Mandi ($19.99 for a single portion), which was absolutely delicious. The fried chicken Mandi ($17.99 for a single portion) was also very good, while the paneer Mandi ($15.99) was decent, though the paneer pieces were a bit hard. Overall, the Mandi rice was exceptional and full of flavor. However, the salan and mayonnaise could use some improvement. Despite that, I had a wonderful experience overall and would definitely recommend this place for Mandi in the Frisco area. Here are some snaps from my visit!

Since DD is the closest option to us, we visit quite regularly. However, apart from the Chicken Dum Biryani, most of the dishes we’ve tried have been overly salty, and many seem to use the same base gravy. For example, the Paneer Tikka Masala gravy tasted very similar to both the Chicken Pasta and Paneer Pasta, which was disappointing. The first time I tried the Szechwan noodles, they were excellent and I was genuinely happy to have found something different and flavorful. Unfortunately, the next two times we ordered them, the quality was completely inconsistent and the taste was far from good. The sambar is almost always too salty and extremely spicy. I usually believe South Indian dishes like idli and dosa are hard to get wrong, but surprisingly, even the idli did not meet expectations. After repeatedly having to discard food due to taste issues, I felt compelled to share this review. Consistency and balanced flavors would really make a big difference. Lastly maybe I will just keep it as a just Tea spot even though it’s not like best tea but not bad either.
Visited with friends on Friday for casual dinner. Super occupied and no place for parking. Ordered 1. Tandoori chicken Momo - 3.5/5 2. Chicken Mandi - 2.5/5 3. Chicken Tikka - 3/5 Momos were spicy and flavorful. Whenever I visited I see all the tables with Mandi plates. So thought of giving a try but disappointed. Ordered Mutton juicy Mandi with extra chicken. Meat was colorful but not flavorful. Disappointed. Chicken tikka is decent nothing specific to mention.
Ambiance is cool and neat.\nFood quantity is good, people recommend Mandi here but taste is normal and the rice slick.\nThere biryani gravy is worst, feels like made with old peanuts.

Always love their Mandi, despite bad customer service I would drive there 30 minutes instead of picking up at the location close by. Last couple of times have been a disappointment, especially today with a juicy. Mandy has very little juice in it. Negligible sauce. For the price you charge you can do better.
I always order from this restaurant especially there CHICKEN SPECIAL BIRYANIS & like the taste but last few times my order is more rice but less & less chicken pieces in , sounds like they are trying to make more money out of extra rice than chicken pieces.Hopefully they fix the issue otherwise I advised to people just don’t go?
We ordered the mutton haleem, and unfortunately it was extremely salty. The taste and texture made it seem like it was prepared using leftover mutton curry rather than being freshly made. It was quite disappointing. If the dish was not available or couldn’t be prepared fresh, it would have been better to inform us instead of serving something of this quality.
Absolutely bad service. Had to wait more than 40 mins for Chicken Pulao. I don’t mind waiting for my food but this just ridiculous. The restaurant was not busy to even justify the delay. Atleast inform your customers about the wait time before they order or when they follow up with you. Lastly after searching a little on the internet, they have even failed the frisco’s food and health safety inspections. I regret ever going there
Some of the meat in the Family Pack mutton biryani that I ordered yesterday night from Desi District-Frisco tasted stale, while the rest tasted fresh. It seemed like fresh biryani may have been mixed with older biryani, which was disappointing. I didn’t feel comfortable serving it to my kids, so I ended up ordering food for them from a different restaurant. If you have kids at home, please be careful and check the quality before serving if you order food from this restaurant.
I honestly don’t understand why people are so crazy about Desi District. To be frank, this is one of the worst food experiences I’ve had in the Dallas area. Before writing this review, I genuinely gave it a fair chance — I tried multiple items including different biryanis and mandi. Unfortunately, none of them lived up to even basic expectations. The taste, quality, and consistency were all disappointing. I’ve had better food from small mobile food trucks around Dallas than what was served here. There’s a famous Telugu dialogue that perfectly fits this situation: “Once an item or place becomes popular, no one dares to say it’s bad — because people will look at them like fools.” That’s exactly how this place feels. Everyone seems to know the food isn’t great, but no one openly says it, probably because of the hype and social media popularity. The only things I found decent were the tea and snacks. Other than that, I would honestly not recommend trying main courses here, especially if you’re expecting authentic or flavorful desi food. Popularity doesn’t always equal quality, and unfortunately, Desi District is a clear example of that.
I would never visit or waste my money at this location. The food is tasteless and devoid of any humanity. I specifically asked for fritters, and despite my request to dine in, they served them as is without even bothering to heat them up. To make matters worse, they informed me that they were out of mint sauce. When I finally tried the fritters, they were pathetic. We have many other restaurants in this area that are far better. Please do your due diligence before ordering or dining in at this location. Most Indian restaurants in this area simply try to hype up their food and make profits, which is not necessarily a bad thing. However, they should also consider their customers, who are mostly people like us who try to give them business. They treat us like dirt. I had to take a hot pack of sauce, but I discarded the entire item later. I wish the management would see this and start caring about their customers. At the very least, they should give us half of the value of our money.
Absolutely Terrible Experience! - I ordered Chicken Pakoda here and was surprised at the quantity — it looked like a sample, not a $12.99 dish! When I asked the lady at the counter, she rudely said, “That’s what you get it.” The Paneer Butter Masala was no better — barely 6–7 tiny cubes of paneer swimming in oily gravy. The place is far from hygienic — dirty tables, sticky surfaces, and overall a very unclean environment. The staff were arrogant and completely unprofessional, and the service was painfully slow. Honestly, this is a worthless place to visit. Save your money and your appetite — there are far better restaurants around that actually care about food quality, cleanliness, and customers.
Ordered breakfast in week days and received cold food instead of hot or warm breakfast. It is better to avoid this place during weekdays as the food is not fresh at all. They serve food from previous day. Paid $22 for two people breakfast received the worst food ever. It's not worth the cost at all.
Worst worst experience I ate yesterday in Irving Branch it was 👌.. here in Frisco the quantity for a single mandi is more than 2 piece mandi..😂👏 while we were asking the frontdesk guy he was laughing at us 👏👏👏. been to many Indian restaurants this one was my go to place for the past 2 years now never gonna come here please try to avoid this place. The guy with a beard has no management skills. Bad experience for my friends who came from New York.
Absolutely Disappointing Experience I rarely leave bad reviews, but Desi District was a huge letdown from start to finish. We waited over 45 minutes for food that came out soggy. The chicken pulav tasted like a white rice along with chicken curry. However, we ordered for dine in but we got in to go!! To make things worse, the staff was inattentive and borderline rude. When we politely asked for updates on our order, the server rolled their eyes and walked away. No apology, no explanation. The place looks nice from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. Dirty tables, sticky menus. Avoid this restaurant. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else.
