Great sauce the sides were great the brisket was amazing as well as the chicken wow i was very happy
Excellent BBQ! Great selection. Friendly service. We plan to make this a regular. (We got ribs and brisket. The ribs! Oh my! Best ever!)
I could see the food being prepared right in front of me, not away in the kitchen. The butcher removed all of the meat's fat, leaving it lean. I saw him make some chopped barbecue for someone else, and he removed the fat before chopping the meat. I've seen barbecue places chop the fat along with the meat to make chopped barbecue. Not here. I will be back.
Fantastic BBQ. Just stand outside and smell the cooking BBQ and lie to yourself that you don't want to go in. I double dare you. They're also able to cater. There's a good amount of jarred goodies and all kinds of other stuff in their little market indoors. Support your locals! The atmosphere is perfect and you won't go wrong with anything on the menu.
A True Fulshear Landmark Dozier’s BBQ is hands-down one of my favorite spots in Fulshear. It’s not just about the food (which is incredible) — it’s the feeling you get when you walk in. There’s something special about a place that’s been around this long and still feels like home. The brisket is always tender, smoky, and full of flavor — you can tell they’ve mastered their craft over the years. It’s hard to beat. But what really keeps me coming back is the family feel. The people here are genuine, and it shows in everything they do. My networking group has made Dozier’s our regular Thursday spot. Good food, great company, and a true Fulshear landmark. If you’re passing through or live nearby, don’t skip it — this place is the real deal. I would highly recommend Dozier's anytime and any day.
I have been eating doziers since I was a child. BUT WOW 2025 DOZIERS is great! The atmosphere is welcoming. The food is delicious The brisket is tender and perfectly cooked. The sausage is homemade and taste just like the old days! The ribs are meaty and addicting no BBQ sauce needed for great meat. All the sides are homemade and absolutely yummy!! You really have to try everything here.
Absolutely love Dozier’s! Have been eating here every chance I get for many years. This place is a part of Fulshear history and I’m so glad that it’s now owned by the family again! I absolutely love their baked potato salad! So good! And that bark on the brisket is delicious, smoky, and savory! Today I had the brisket plate(moist cut for me with extra bark and a few burnt ends,) with coleslaw, green beans, all the fixins’, and of course no bbq meal is complete without that glass of sweet iced tea and a side of their fantastic banana pudding! Every employee I spoke with was respectful and had a smile on their face. This speaks volumes about the owner and the good work culture! In fact the owner stopped by my table to see how my food was and ended up having a really great conversation with him about the family history of the restaurant! They also have a patio area with live music most Saturday nights! I highly recommend you stop by Dozier’s anytime you’re in the Fulshear area for some good ol’ Texas Bbq done right! 10/10!
While on our family drive we came across Doliver’s. We were greeted by the team and left feeling like we made life long friends. Can’t wait to try their bbq and check out their local bands. ***We cooked some of the bacon we purchased along with a filet and ribeye and lord have mercy 🤤🤤impeccable!!!
Finally, the long awaited re-opening of the old Dozier's . I went twice to try the bbq before this review. Take my advice on this one . Get there early. Everything sells out fast ! The food , to me , tastes a little different, and the sauce is the same . The taste is still excellent, and get there before 4 pm. By that time, items are selling out . I tried the beans (firm but delicious) The potato salad (hot and the cold types) I do prefer the hot over the cold potato salad... just a little more . Both potato salads were delicious. The dipping sauce still tastes the same - mouth watering and an excellent compliment to the brisket. Everyone needs to come back to Dozier's. Take a trip back in time... taste the goodness of yester year .
When I arrived in Houston, I couldn’t stop thinking about BBQ, it is just a necessity when you’re in Texas! I just had a bit of a hard time choosing where to eat since there are really a lot of BBQ restaurants around the area. I heard about Dozier’s so I searched it on the web and got really curious. Everything was so good in Dozier’s! The brisket, the ribs, the side dishes, everything! The fall-off-the-bone meat melts in my mouth which is oddly satisfying and mouthwatering. Their brisket also has a wide range of options like brisket on a biscuit, brisket hash, chicken fried brisket, and more! I couldn’t try everything because there’s a lot. Well, at least, I still have reasons to go back. Haha!
We had a great experience at Dozier's. We had the moist brisket, pork ribs, sausage, sides of Texas caviar, and potato salad, and they were all excellent. The moist brisket was exquisite with a smoky flavor and seasoning. The ribs fall off the bones as one would expect, and the sausage was terrific. The staff were amicable and told us how to order as we go down the food line - cold items first, then the hot items. We will go back there to eat again. Love this place!
Ordered brisket (moist, not lean), pork ribs, and German sausages. Brisket was flavourful, but not the melt-in-your-mouth standard. Pork ribs were off-the-bone! Sadly, both the ribs and sausages were a tad too salty, which robs the BBQ smokiness. Coleslaw lacks depth - taste like cabbage topped with diluted ranch - but baked potato salad wins the day - perfect texture and taste! Staff were mostly friendly and courteous. For the price, there are other BBQ joints in Houston to aim for...alas, we're in Fulshear 🙂 Second time here and briskets were remarkably improved 🤤 Ham and sausages sadly still sub-par.
My wife and I first time here. Found them through an upcoming burger challenge post on Facebook. They are a competitor in it. Apparently, they only do burgers on Friday so we decided to split a three meat plate. We got moist and lean brisket with sausage and a side of coleslaw and green beans. We also got two iced teas. The staff was very friendly and prompt. The food was good. The sausage came with an unusual mustard that I had to ask about. It is made with tumeric, mustard, paprika and vinger...it tasted good. They also have a meat market...which was nice. I bought some venison sausage and a pepper salami...both look yummy. I am sure we will be back. BTW - the burger is only Fridays and the sell out fast...usually in a few hours.
Visited for their new brunch experience. Between us we had Brisket on a Biscuit, Chicken Fried Brisket and Pancakes, Brisket Hash, and The Burger. To drink we had tea, Cranberry Mimosa, and a Michelada. . We ordered at the counter and sat in a booth. The tea was from a fountain, but we had to wait 5 minutes for the cocktails. The food was served as it was ready. . The crust on the chicken fried brisket was fantastic. The burger was huge and delicious. . The only complaint was that the ranchero sauce on the hash was far too spicy for the guest. The biscuit could have used more gravy. The taste was there, however. . It was a good experience. The place is spacious inside with tasty food.
I had heard about this place and I'm glad that I was able to go out to Fulshear and give it a try. It was some pretty solid barbecue, and the loaded baked potato salad was delicious. If in the area, definitely give it a go. I had a half pound of brisket, two ribs, and an individual side which ended up costing about $25. I probably could have done with a little bit less food. My bad I guess for not knowing how much to order, but that's why I prefer places that just offer a "plate" style rather than selling by weight. It would also be nice if they offered fountain drinks be it soda or water rather than cans/bottled beverages. The place is pretty neat. It's both a barbecue joint and a general store. But I don't know how much shopping happens here by non tourists. There is also some cool history on the walls. The recently added outdoor space with a cool "Fulshear" text mural is nice, but it was way too hot to spend any time out there.
We have been coming here for 30+ years and I brought my 80 yr old mom last week. New owners new building, sliced bbq was good but the chopped sandwich was mushy and sort of cold. Sandwiches were super expensive for the quality. Miss the old Doziers!
It was 34 dollars with a tip for a two meat plate and a drink, sorta pricey, the brisket wasn’t what I hoped it would be but it wasn’t bad either, the sausage was okay. The service was great super friendly staff and a nice establishment but I think for the quality of the food you receive the pricing doesn’t reflect that. Just my two cents on it all.
Tried it a couple times after the reopen. Its not looking good. They need to step it up. Average or below but premium priced. This DD order cost me a whopping $103. Yeah theres a big financial penalty for DD delivery I get it. But this still would have cost me $75 if I ordered in house for a couple dry slices of brisket and plain dry sausage. Would you really pay $75 for this??? Ordered a sliced brisket sandwich, they messed up the order and sent a "chopped" mystery meat sandwich (canned Sysco meat?). This look like something you would get at the Astrodome in the 1980s with a warm $10 beer. C’mon man. Look at that. That thing cost $15???? Astrodome quality and Astrodome price. No amount of sauce could save it. Everything just plain, bland and dry. How do you make sausage since 1957 and its still this plain? Ever heard of pepper?
Absolutely garbage BBQ! Worst BBQ in Texas, Period!!! $22 for a dried chicken plate with two terrible sides. Also ordered a 1/2 pound of (select grade) fatty brisket to go for $21 and wouldn’t serve it to my dog. Wasted $45.92 for complete garbage lunch. This place has gone downhill significantly. Don’t spend your money here!!!!
I’ve only been a handful of times but my visit in January was definitely my last. I walked in and the employees were cleaning up and mopping, not only did the guy stop mopping to get my food selections but he didn’t even wash his hands. He just put on gloves and went about getting the food. I used a Facebook promotion when ordering so luckily I only spent less than $20 but the food went straight in the trash.
