You will not find more delicious, authentic breakfast tacos anywhere. Tortillas are fresh and often just off the grill. You can see the ladies rolling out tortillas as you stand in line. The filling is generous and freshly made without any preservatives or excessive oil or salt. Your choice of salsa, red or green. They make both, fresh. Everything is perfectly cooked. You should be prepared to wait on any Sunday or near lunch. The wait is well worth it and if you're out on a Saturday for breakfast, then you have time.

On the way to Austin, I finally visited Taqueria Chihuahua after hearing it was a must-try. It was hot, humid, and sunny—classic Texas weather. Being Memorial Day weekend, the line was long and it took about an hour from arrival to sitting outside. The staff were warm, welcoming, and professional, each with a big smile. I ordered a childhood favorite: huevos con chorizo on a homemade flour tortilla with refried beans. The taco was huge, flavorful, and reminded me of my mom’s cooking—high praise! We sat on the covered patio with a nice breeze. Later, I realized I left my purse behind. Even though they had just closed, they answered the phone and kindly waited for me to return. Nothing was missing. The staff assured me lost items are always respected there—truly a place filled with great food and good-hearted people.

An Austinite's favorite on the way to Houston for many years. Huge, meaty portions of authentic Mexican soft tacos - we all enjoy the breakfast best, with a handful of bacon or chorizo and eggs. Prices have gone up slightly over time, but it's still the best value you'll find on the road. The warning still holds up: only get two breakfast tacos if you're starving or can save one for later.

The best breakfast tacos in Texas! Homemade tortillas and great bacon! They open at 5:30 and there is always a line out the door! Truckers know to stop here! Value for the money is good! But the primary reason to stop is their quality! Should be a James Beard award winner!! Get their tamales at Christmas!!

As harsh as I am with ratings this little place is well worth it. Food is great, place is clean and everything on the menu looks amazing. It's run by the Mexican yentas and it's fantastic. You must come through. Oh and you can't beat the value

This has been a required stop for my family for years when traveling between Austin and Houston. You can't miss the bright orange building! Our travel times are planned around getting here in time for burritos before they close at 2 pm. Get there as early as you can, it's popular . Authentic, fresh, and delicious. The staff is always friendly and fast as possible. Don't skip out on the fresh OJ, it's a must! The burritos are way affordable and super filling. You get the bang for your buck no doubt. There will be a line but I promise it's worth it. It's crazy busy for the best reasons. Enjoy the murals while you wait!

A close friend of mine who is from Giddings said I had to stop here on the way to Houston from Austin. I'm glad that I listened to him. So this place is dirt cheap. The average burrito here costs $3.50. They are generous with the portions of food that they give you though. If you are only a little hungry one burrito will be plenty. Even if you are very hungry two burritos is too much. This business is CASH only. Also they close at 2pm everyday so keep that in mind. I got the Carne Guisada, and my friend got half Chipotle Chicken and half Bistec Ranchero. They use flour tortillas here and they are fresh AND hot. Okay... both burritos were amazing. So many flavors going on. I can't believe they cost as much as they did. Both the Bistec Ranchero and Chipotle Chicken were quite spicy (especially the Bistec) so be warned. Can't recommend this place enough!
