Amazing small town atmosphere! Perfect waitstaff; no nonsense, take your order and get you the food…but friendly like sitting in Grandma’s kitchen. Baklava Cheesecake was one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten! Homemade fresh!! Sweet rich layer of baklava on light and delicious cheesecake! Doesn’t get much more like heaven than that. Caesar wrap was good, and the coleslaw was also worth writing home about as well! Well done Latham 76 Diner!

Stopped in here for breakfast on my way to the airport. Everything was absolutely amazing. Food, service, atmosphere...all perfectly spot on. I had the English muffin with Canadian bacon (don't remember the exact name of the sandwich), it was divine. Also had a piece of baklava cheesecake before I left that may very well be the best dessert I have ever had in my life. Simply perfect. Thoroughly recommend, do yourself a favor and go enjoy a slice of your dessert of choice. Chefs kiss.

Went early on a Friday, and it was my first diner in so long. Back on Long Island I went to them so much so this was already off to a good start. I love silver dollar pancakes and I asked for them with bananas and while I always want them cooked inside, I always assume they will be on top… but these ones each had 2 pieces of banana perfectly mixed in! And it was a huge portion, I knew it was the same price as a full stack of pancakes but still did not imagine them to be so plentiful. The home fries were delicious too… I wish the large was larger though. And to take home, I got the chocolate mousse which was very much enjoyable too. The service was very nice.

Classic diner fare, done well. Don't expect Michelin-level food, but with the right expectations, you will find something you'll enjoy at a reasonable price. We had lunch with friends we hadn't seen in decades, and met here because it was where our group hung out back in the 70s.

I stopped by the diner today with my girlfriend to visit my old friends. I moved out of the area about 15 years ago, and the last time I visited was pre-Covid. This is the first time my gf has been upstate NY and not only was she stunned by the beautiful scenic drive up, she loved every little thing about the 76 diner, from the decor, to the cleanliness, the friendly staff, to the absolute deliciousness and freshness of the food. She seriously now wants us to reconsider buying a home in PA after visiting the 76 diner. She said her lamb chops were the best she’s ever had in her life, cooked to perfection and exquisitely moist and tender. She had a few bites of my Chicken Athenian dish which she said was amazing. She said the broccoli was cooked perfectly like at home, not over cooked and mushy like most restaurants and the mashed potatoes were as tasty and fresh as could be. As we were leaving I grabbed two of the complimentary cookies, one for her and one for me. I could see as she took her first bite while approaching our car in the parking lot that she loved them. She was upset with me for not taking a few more! I told her they taste the same way they did 30 years ago when I first tried them. Although Alex, the original owner is no longer with us, his son Tony, has no doubt followed in his father’s footsteps to continue his great legacy. The 76 diner was the best diner back in the 90’s when I was around and still is 30 years later!

We were a group of 10, the staff was able to accommodate seating and the service great. It had the old school diner feel, including the wait staff. Friendly and efficient service! Breakfast was good and set a positive tone for the rest of our trip.

This diner is amazing, from the food, to the decor, to the service. Right off the bat you'll notice the inside of this homey restaurant is themed very patriotically. On the inside of the menu you will find portraits of 44 presidents along with what seems like hundreds of dining options. The food is delicious. I got the fried haddock sandwich and my friends got burgers, all of us left happy. (The French fries are delicious) On the way out we were offered a complimentary cookie. This place is great not to mention it's open 24 hours a day. If you're looking for a diner in the area go here!

I'm busy in Albany and I decided to stop at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the pancakes were nice and fluffy. The weather I had was very friendly. She also told me how beautiful I was which made me feel really great.

My date and I stumbled upon this place Friday night and I must say we were very pleased with the atmosphere and the ambiance the customer service was A1 and our server was so sweet I forgot to get her name but she was very friendly and polite the food was really good my only issue was my broccoli was bought out last and the broccoli was cold the butter wouldn't even melt on it I didn't complain about it but that was my only issue other than that the customer service was exceptional we will definitely be coming back😊

Great diner food! I had a double bacon and double cheese omlette. Was a good portion and good value. Wish the bacon was crispier, but still really good. My wife had the Athenian omlette, and she said it was fantastic. The waitress nicked named "Turkey," is a howl. You'll be lucky to have her. She has been there since 1975!! A definite must stop!

We returned to our former home for a weekend visit after 20 years. Latham was a regular go-to spot when we lived in Troy and Watervliet. We were amazed at how the dining room looked so similar with little signs of age or wear and tear. The staff was friendly and food was plentiful. Just like old times.

We always come here when we are within the area, and I usually don't leave a review all the time because it's always fantastic! Today, I'm leaving a review about the service....Eliane May (Old School) not only gave our table (9 top), but she worked another table (12 top) on her game!! She had a positive attitude and a great smile and went above and beyond for special requests... the whole staff and servers are out of this world. Don't take my word for it. Come down and enjoy the food and see for yourself.

Classic diner experience, but with better than classic quality of food This is the only place in the area where we have found perfect Eggs Benedict: Nearly-set-but-still-runny yolk, robust but not overwhelming hollandaise, and flavorful (not too greasy) potatoes. Their eggs benedict is listed under "house specials" so we are hopeful that this isnt a fluke! Have been here twice in the last couple of weeks, once for breakfast and another for dinner: All food has come out as perfectly as you can expect from a nonspecialty diner. Whoever is cooking in the back really seems to be on top of it and really cares about the food Service was amazing during weekend/lunch but was remarkably slow later at night. Also oddly, our first waitress told us (unprompted) that we could pay at the table-- but the waitress at dinner disappeared after we received the bill. Took us a beat to realize she was never coming back to collect the card, but not a big deal. This is our favorite diner in the area, so far. If you are looking for an excellent family sized meal, this is the place. Everything I have ordered had been excellent. I have had the stuffed sole, baked salmon, sausage and shrimp pasta, Roma wrap, and Thai chicken salad. Wow... The French onion soup is out of this world and a must try!

A lovely American diner. It felt vintage in an authentic way, without feeling outdated. Not entirely sure the theme came through, but the atmosphere was lovely nonetheless. The service was great. Our server Julia (found out she’s new) made a simple mistake on my kiddos chocolate chip pancakes order. Instead of making her wait for a new batch, she asked if we wanted to add chocolate chips on top. We said that was sufficient. But it wasn’t for Julia-she also brought out chocolate sprinkles, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream. She made a typical breakfast a ‘YOLO’ experience my kiddo will remember for a long time. My omelette, country potatoes, and toast were enough for 2 small meals! Then, I discovered the manager was the person who seated us. She was also doing about 10 other ‘thankless’ restaurant tasks while we were eating. I can see why the service was great-she leads by example!

Food is always excellent here with a mix of Greek, American, and other cuisines. Portions are generous. Great for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters! I always go here when I need to shop at Lowe's and parking with a trailer is always easy. Last time I ate here it was to meet friends traveling along the northway. Easy on/off for this location.

First time to 66 Diner and we can’t believe we waited this long to try it. By FAR the best diner in the Capital Region! Got the very best pastrami Reuben I’ve had in years! The onion rings were perfectly crispy and not at all greasy. This diner is everything the big diner in North Greenbush dreams of being. Great service, excellent food. We’ll be back soon. It will take a long time to eat our way through the huge menu. A real gem in Latham. Lunchtime was busy with fellow Boomers on a 7 degree winter day. Very clean. The decor is dominated by an incredible wealth of silk flowers and silk plants. Garish, but hey, it’s a diner! Get over it 😂!

A 70's feel paired with modern deliciousness. The traditional diner booths with the printed pattern mirrored glass panels pulls you back in time. Traditional style waitress and quick wit waiters gives you a good laugh. High quality, food with lots of flavor instead of the bland food coming out of competitor kitchens. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner you just cannot go wrong. Fantastic omelets, perfectly poached eggs, and fried eggs - all fantastic. Onions in the fried breakfast potatoes with salt and seasoning (yum). Pastrami and Philly cheese steaks to die for that by default comes with the works. Onion rings that take you back in time.... Fresh baked cookies and a fully stocked fresh goods bakery display, so tempting , so gooood!!!

Another good one here! This is a consistent diner my brother frequents. He brought me when I came into town. It’s been around close to 50 years. The waitress was attentive and cute which always helps! They have seating for a bunch of people. Eggs were perfectly over easy and the coffee was hot. Authentic East Coast diner experience with friendly staff and a staple breakfast menu. The atmosphere and fixtures of the diner are a blast from the past, which adds to the charm. We went about midday on a Sunday and there was a bit of a wait, but chose to sit at the counter. Eggs benedicts are our specialty, and these eggs benedicts were decent for diner food. The portion size was appropriate for the cost also.

Came with a party of 8 on a Sunday morning and they got a table ready for us right away. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt. Too many breakfast items ordered to list them all but they included, eggs, chocolate chip pancakes, Bloody Mary, hash eggs Benedict to name a few and everyone was happy with their few. The decor is dated like early 90’s but most diners are. Would definitely recommend.

As you walk in,you see a beautiful decor.Tiffany lights everywhere. Great quality booths. This is our second trip back as we pass through going to Vermont .We had breakfast on our first trip and everything done perfectly..food hot and quick service. Huge English muffins. This time we had their Turkey club and a cheeseburger club. Turkey club was my preference as it was loaded with turkey. French fries hot and tasty.Their menu is extensive and priced reasonably. Portions more than enough. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good Boston creme pie. Extensive dessert selections. Clean bathrooms. Will definitely be back on our next trip up this way.

Been coming here for years, my wife used to love this place. Good food and service.

The restaurant is clean and larger than it looks from the road. It is busy at lunch time. They were struggling a bit with staff shortages today so service was not very fast and lacked what might be normal attention level at another restaurant. I have eaten here before and the food was excellent as usual. I will return and hopefully be able to change this rating for a five that they are capable of earning.

Here we experienced just about everything we were expecting. It's your everyday, classic American diner with nice decor and amicable faces and attitudes among the staff. The place has a nice, cozy and welcoming atmosphere that I appreciated. On a Sunday night the place wasn't too busy and although our waiter was new he did a spectacular job. Our food came out in a very timely manner. I ordered the chicken tenders ( a favorite classic of mine) and although I liked them I thought the real star of the meal were the fries I got on the side- the fries here are awesome!! My boyfriend enjoyed his burger despite it being a little messy. Prices and portions are fair when it comes to entrees. I'll note though that the menu here is huge and has a large variety including breakfast; I don't know how they keep up with it all but I suppose they do their best. My only complaint would be the appetizers as they aren't very good. Originally I was going to order the stuffed breadsticks, but it only comes with two which I thought was a bit paltry and a tipoff portion-wise; we decided then to make our own appetizer out of two and chose the stuffed breadsticks and mozzarella sticks...what we got was a rather pathetic plate of one stuffed breadstick and only 3 or 4 small mozzarella sticks that were obviously store bought; in fact I recognized the same kind of mozzarella sticks I'd buy in bulk from the local wholesale stores. My boyfriend also recognized the stuffed breadstick in the same way. Overall the appetizer didn't seem worth it but everything else was great. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a great diner and a quick bite to eat and I think I'll come again.

Update to previous post, the sliced roasted turkey is very good, there was enough for 2 people. Comes with a choice of soup or salad, I chose the baked potato and mixed vegetables. Update: I wanted to add that I was looking at the beverage and dessert menu. I thought I was used to current prices but these surprised me! $4 for coffee in a diner? $7 for pie or cake? That’s for a slice, not the whole thing! Perhaps it’s comparable elsewhere. Frequent stop, today it was lunch. Service always excellent. Ordered a cheese and veggie omelette, and a chicken gyro. Both were good. One big plus is that you can sub spinach with feta for the home fries! Issues today-water for tea was not hot enough-waitress admitted it’s a problem. Replaced, same thing. French fries were also chilly, but without complaint whisked away and replaced. No other issues. The cookie at the counter is a great bonus-can I take two? (Asking for a friend)!

Sadly, when I dine solo the customer service is just not there. Today my drinking glass had a chip out of the rim - and with no straw that was unsafe. Waitress disappeared after I asked for extra cranberry sauce so I had to ask someone else. And then I had to find someone to ask for water. Sad the service has gone downhill.

Interesting place. Very large. Very tacky, but in a fun way. The entire place feels like it was decorated in 1985 and never updated. The food was okay and the meal came out quickly. The staff was friendly. Nothing memorable about the food. The pancakes were a bit dry.

I've visited here twice but on my recent visit with my daughter,the place was freezing like we appreciate it being cool on a hot day but getting goosebumps and needing a sweater i think is a bit much.The food however was good both times,my daughter asked for chocolate chips added to her waffles but the were just tiny ones put on top.soon as we got our food i was able to take one bite and our server comes and asked how are food is and we sadly fine and literally 5 mins later he speeds by says nothing and places our bill on the table and at that point it felt very rushed and a lil rude we literally jus started eating and didn't ask for the bill and my daughter wanted to order something to go but decided not to since we were already served the bill...and actually still tipped $5!

Been here a few times in the past. First time with the family for dinner. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. Parking was good. Food came out fast. The waitress was great. The food rates a 2.5 overall. Kids had the spaghetti and pasta but neither one cared for it. And they usually LOVE pasta. I had the bacon chedder omlette and it was a 2. The toast was limp but the coffee was pretty good. My wife had the gyro and it was simply lacking in overall flavor and goodness. Much better places to eat in the area. With the current economy being what it is you have to choose wisely when spending money on dining out. Think again about this diner.

The Final Straw: Since we’ve moved back upstate earlier this year, we’ve hoped to find a local diner we could frequent for breakfast. We tried Latham 76 for the past few months. It’s a standard diner with its own look and feel; service and food were good enough… Over time, we noticed some of the wait staff were better than others, mostly inattentive but tolerable. Yesterday, however, inattentive crossed the line into incompetent and rude. It wasn’t busy, our order was straightforward, yet we saw several tables served by the same waitress who ordered after us but were fed first. After the fourth instance and an unusually long wait (35 minutes), we paid for our coffees ($4 each) and walked out. We’re giving up on this place. The food and ambiance are not worth the hassle.

Food was bland. Server seemed annoyed when taking care of us. We were rushed by leaving the bill 2 minutes after the food arrived to our table.

I was very disappointed. I ordered prime rib which had been reheated, dry and not medium-rare. I only ate part of it. If I had known that, I would have made a different menu selection. Other meals were just okay, not prepared from scratch.

Food was cold and the waiter wasn’t the best. It was so bad we didn’t leave a tip and that’s sad. Need more mangers on floor helping there team. I will never return.

I used to love this place but recently it just seems to have gone down in quality. My partner and I went in tonight for dinner and were shocked by the inattentiveness of the staff and the quality of the food, especially as two people who work in the restaurant industry. We received our drinks and put in our order relatively quickly after being sat, but after that our server disappeared and our food didn't come out for quite a while. By the time it arrived we had realized our food had likely been sitting in the window for a while based on the lukewarm quality and by the fact that it was not our server who brought it. Side note: I ordered the big breakfast with french toast and only received one slice of french toast, which seems very odd. We ate our food and wanted to get dessert but we still didn’t see our server. We sat at the table waiting for her for a while until eventually my partner decided he needed to get back to work and we should just head out. We went up to the front to ask for our bill when our waitress appeared with it in her pocket. It was over $50 bucks for bad food and also a small amount of it. Had we seen our waitress earlier we would have bought two slices of cake and maybe had a better experience, but overall this was a letdown, especially from such an area staple.

Wow. The quality of the food reminds me of… the very worst possible middle school lunch you ever had— except somehow worse than that. The one thing they did well was the single piece of French Toast, but that’s pretty hard to screw up. The lighting is all either LED or fluorescent and glaring. The service was admittedly very good and friendly. I would not ever come here again. Not if it were the only option and I were starving.

The diner itself is absolutely adorable! A great ambiance. The waitress was very friendly. Unfortunately the food was very mid. The French toast had no flavor, it was just a toasted bread with no french toast taste. The eggs tasted very watered down as well. The coffee was extreamly bitter and again, flavorless. A great late night place if food isn't the main worry.

My daughter's meal was very subpar. Steak was extremely this, egg was floating on water and nothing had any flavor. I ordered mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. The tenders were more of a filet and were very dry. Neither had any flavor. Maybe it's a place for locals but definitely not for us.

I truly have no idea how this place has such great reviews. Everything that was consumed, had absolutely no flavor. I honestly thought I was losing my mind. NY strip for breakfast, 2 poached eggs that seemed to just be done in the bowl of water, toast that wasnt even toasted, home fries that were either burnt or just barely done, chicken tenders which seemed to be breasts, and mozzarella sticks. We were on a 10 hour road trip and I decided on this place for the reviews, but the food was absolutely bland. The service was fantastic, very polite and on top of things. But if you have taste buds, for their sake, dont waste your money or time here. For the same price, I could've waited another hour and gone to Texas roadhouse for an actual steak breakfast.

The woman at the drive-through didn't tell me my total. She also didn't even say hi to me and didn't say thank you. It wasn't that busy where she had to rush so much through my order to not greet me …

This store could care less about you as a customer. The customer service is the worst. They package your food very careless and move uncomfortably slow when there are long lines. They do not care! …

If I could give zero stars I would. I went here with my boyfriend and won’t return. We sat time within a timely manner. Waited over 20 minutes for even a drink. He asked for ginger ale and I asked for a hot tea. We also ordered appetizers. The table behind us got anything they asked for within a timely manner. I am not sure of the waiter name…she probably didn’t even tell us. It was very unfortunate that we could not eat here…actually probably not that unfortunate. She also tapped on our table without even looking at us to tell us our appetizer should be out “soon”. She initially asked if I wanted a soup or salad, I said I would take a salad. No drinks, no appetizers, no salad after almost 40 minutes. I will definitely not recommend this place!

I took my Son there this morning for breakfast as it was his birthday treat. Today is Sunday, July 6th, 2025. We told the waitress we wanted one coffee, one water and an orange juice. We got 2 coffees, 2 waters and no juice. He ordered 3 eggs over easy, toast, white toast and a side of bacon. He got 4 eggs, home fries, toast and no bacon.His eggs looked barely cooked and the home fries were old, just warmed over. I ordered two eggs over easy, toast, home fries and a side of bacon. Again, my eggs were almost cold, home fries were stale and my side of bacon was old and tasteless. Then when we cashed out the old guy at the register never even bothered to give me the change I had coming. We were fed up and just left!!!

Yes, it was busy. But the server stopped by numerous times and every time I tried asking one of a few question to help me make a decision including if there's an upcharge on egg whites as a sub or with a simple plate of oatmeal with fruit asking if its a fruit salad or we pick what fruit is included for the upcharge the server Michelle kept saying "You're killing me!" And walking away. Eventually, pretty understandbly perturbed as I'm there for breakfast and still hungry with no end to that in my foreseeable future, I follow her asking her to just get me a muffin if thats all they can do. About 10 minutes later I had no muffin or patience left. After sitting at the counter for 45 minutes maybe longer without a food order I paid for my coffee at the register and left. That was so lame
