Our wedding at Cottiers was just, put simply, a DREAM. I fell in love with this venue long before I was even engaged! I just knew it was where we would be having our wedding reception; thankfully, my now husband, agreed! We were blown away when we visited the venue initially. Once all of our decor etc had come together on the day (thanks to our wonderful suppliers and Team Cottiers) we walked into the hall for 'first looks': we were absolutely besotted. Not only is this venue visually stunning and provides the most perfect atmosphere for a wedding, the food was TO DIE FOR. 'Best food I've had at a wedding' is what we've heard on repeat for the last seven weeks now! Lastly, but by no means least - Eve and Erin, our coordinators, were nothing short of phenomenal. They had the patience of saints when it came to my constant stream of questions and emails -for the best part of a year. The girls kept me calm throughout and nothing was too much for them. What a credit they are to this establishment! Both girls are responsible for what we knew would be the most amazingly beautiful day <3. Thank you to no end. You are BRILLIANT at what you do. So, if you want an unforgettable wedding, Cottiers MUST be the place.

Always a wee blessing to visit this place Rather apt seeing as it used to be a Church. One of the finest West End institutions

This place oozes with charm, from the candlelit mystique to the Medieval-inspired paint. It's such a warm place for a pint or cuppa. Likewise, it's a spectacular space for special events, whether a wedding or—as I experienced—special showing of The Wizard of Oz for the Glasgow Film Festival.

Idyllic church setting. I loved all the real candles and fairy lights. Three beaver town options on draught and a very cosy relaxed atmosphere for such a big space. Outdoor seating for summer and friendly bar person. A nice place to take family or a partner

I was lucky enough to photograph an amazing wedding at Cottiers very recently. I've shot there on a number of occasions and it's always awesome. The atmosphere, location, food and staff are brilliant. I'd definitely recommend choosing this as your wedding venue in Glasgow.

Fabulous food and drink in a great location, total suntrap on the odd occasion the sun is shining. Awesome beef sandwich with truffle, Parmesan and fries for £5.95, total bargain (edit; sandwiches no longer seem to be available due to a shortage of staff each time we go 🤔). Great selection of draught drinks, could do with a decent cider on draught though. Great service and a lovely bar area inside too. Dog friendly too, looking forward to going back soon.

We had our wedding at Cottiers. Incredible venue.. Erin and Eve did a wonderful job planning our special day. Communication throughout the planning process was great and on the day they guided us through everything and took care of all the details. Catering was also provided through Cottiers. We had canapes, a three course meal, and a late night snack according to our guests' dietary requirements - all of which were delicious. Many of our guests commented on how good the food was. Service of the meal was excellent. Staff were present yet out of sight. Drinks were always topped up and service of the food was timely. Set-up and tear down of all decor was done perfectly. Part of the reason we chose Cottiers was for the bells. NOTE, you cannot hear the bells from inside the venue you have to be standing outside to hear them. The venue played the bells when our guests were outside for the confetti toss but we hadn't gone outside yet so we missed them. Cottiers then took extra steps to get the bells rang again so that we could hear them, which we appreciated greatly. Lastly the atmosphere was breath-taking. The main hall is beautiful and provided a stunning backdrop for our ceremony, dinner, and evening ceilidh/dancing. Thank you Cottiers! Photos by Sean Myles Photography.

Incredible food! The best meal I've had in a long time - we got haggis scotch egg, cod and sticky fig and date sponge. Even the ice cream was out of this world, every dish was amazing and the servers were lovely too. I managed to get a reservation on Friday night at 6pm for 7pm. Phenomenal.

WEDDING VENUE search? Cottiers is a great choice. Beautiful converted church with a laid back, west end feel and nicely lit chic interior. My band The Jiggers plays ceilidhs for weddings here on a regular basis and the staff look after you really well. Really worth checking it out for a good wedding venue in Glasgow. *UPDATE2* been back several times, and I'd add that every single time the staff have been great. Still consistently one of the city's best venues with a real "Glasgow" vibe.

Went for drinks and then the Cara Rose gig. For a busy Saturday around Christmas time the bar staff were attentive, friendly and speedy. Venue is gorgeous, great atmosphere, and a fun playlist from what I remember! Will be back soon.

Visited Cottiers for a gig and it did not dissapoint. Absolutely beautiful venue, staff were all friendly and with loo and bar to hand. Didn't get food whilst there however it did smell amazing when passing through. Will definitely be back to try the food.

We had a really good lunch. The burger was delicious well cooked and jucy! They also had really filling sandwich lunch deals -used focaccia as bread and it was good with the soup. The wait was a bit long, but it's because they made everything fresh. The staff was nice too!

I just want to say a big thank you to Erin and Eve for all their hard work coordinating our recent wedding at Cottiers. Communication was great and I always received a prompt, friendly reply to my multiple questions! The venue itself is stunning and the staff on the night were brilliant too. Many of the guests commented on the meal and how great the food was. Would highly recommend as a wedding venue :)

We had our wedding at Cottiers a week past Friday and the day couldn’t have gone any smoother. They got everything we asked for down to a T. All our friends and family have been raving about the venue and the food (some saying it’s the best meal they have had at a wedding and will definitely be back for a meal). Erin our wedding planner was great. I really couldn’t recommend this venue enough!!

We had our wedding at Cottiers at the end of December and it was the most magical day!! It is just the perfect space for a wintry wedding. It is the most amazing building inside and out and we didn't need to add much decor at all as it was really perfect the way it was. We have had so many of our guests tell us how amazing the food was, from the canapés to dessert to tea and coffee it was all delicious. We can't explain just how well we were all looked after on the lead up and on the day of the wedding. The staff were amazing and so attentive ensuring everything ran smoothly and making sure all the little details were taken care of. Erin is an amazing wedding co-ordinator. She was so accommodating and helpful and always got back to my many emails and questions so quickly. I felt calm on the day and as though everything was under control and that is thanks to Erin and all the team at Cottiers! We will always look back on our wedding day with such happy memories. Thank you so much.

Recently had lunch in here on a Monday afternoon. Not too busy, and service was great. We had the lunch deal, and thought this was great value. Tomato soup was delicious, and sandwich was very filling. With the fire on in the background, it was lovely on such a cold day. We will be back!

Went to the pub/bar section. Friendly atmosphere with booths, a table for large groups, as well as tables for 2 to 4. Great old-world feel with a wood burning fire, wooden beams, etc. A bit noisy when busy. Family-friendly, including both kids and dogs. Staff is as attentive as is humanly possible when it gets super, super busy. Very, very friendly.

Lunch on. Tuesday. The full menu was available however they have a fabulous deal for £11. Wide variety of sandwiches with soup or salad or chips plus a soft drink or coffee. Amazing value for West End of Glasgow. Delicious and great quality . Staff very attentive too

We got married in Cottiers in April 2025 and it was absolutely perfect, we could not have asked for a better venue! Everything ran perfectly on the day - the staff were fantastic and kept the whole thing running smoothly. Booking and organising the wedding was also a breeze, pricing and timings were all very transparent and we got answers from the team very quickly whenever we needed them. I can't think of a single thing I would have improved about our wedding, and I'm so pleased we chose to have it in Cottiers. We also pop in now and again for food/drinks and always have a great time - food is delicious, the atmosphere is lovely (so cosy when it's cold outside), and the staff are always great.

Enjoy a lunch here yesterday with friends. I had fish n chips, which was ok, fish batter was a bit greasy. Friends had steak frites and chicken schnitzel both really enjoyed theirs. Lots of cocktails which were great and service was good

Gorgeous pub, though definitely one of the most expensive pints I’ve ever ordered in glasgow at £6.80!

S

Great vegan menu, which is a big plus for me. As pub grub goes it's okay. My chickpea and spinach burger was certainly up there with the best of my vegan burger experiences. And they've just introduced cocktails onto the drinks menu, which put a big smile on my face 😍. Of course I had to sample one...and certainly wasn't disappointed. I awarded 3 points for atmosphere because it's a very loud venue and it's hard to hear conversations. There were lots of families on the day I visited, which was lovely to see. I'm not a lover of the sports bar aspect, but that's my personal choice. The staff were first class and their customer service and friendliness is certainly worth mentioning. Cottiers prices are also very budget friendly. So, all round, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue.

Was great to find a place where we could sit outside in the evening. Unfortunately, despite being in one of the most affluent areas of Glasgow, the outside area totally lacked atmosphere. No lights no fires no shelters. I looked around and wondered why they didn’t make more of this space and it would’ve been full. What a superb potential and opportunity. There was a lot discarded litter under the tables. Thank you for being there but I assure you you’ll have a much busier place if you put some fairy lights up and maybe a couple of fires and shelters. I’m happy to advise ;-)

Didn’t have food. But restaurant was busy. Went for a concert. A great night, with great music, sound was good.

Nice bar, but nothing special. One of those converted church type. Pretty, but funny decor for a bar, feels a bit like a children's theatre. Not too impressed with their range of beers available. A bit expensive although I guess it's normal for the area

J
Jay Peat

First thing the big church space is rad so if you're going for an event or whatever all good. If you're popping in fer a drink I'd avoid, service is always all over the place, the atmosphere is dead as can be and it's just no a good a time.

3/5 – Decent but Underwhelming Visited Cottiers on a sunny afternoon. The courtyard is a lovely space, though the candles on tables indoors felt unnecessary during the day, especially in the heat. Burgers were decent, but the “chilli fries” were just regular fries with some powder seasoning – a bit misleading. Service was mediocre; staff seemed a bit disengaged. Advertised as dog-friendly, but in practice it wasn’t very welcoming for our pup. Not a bad spot, but could be much better with a few tweaks.

The dance floor is unfit for gigs. Its a a skating rink with the tiniest drip of liquid. Careful folks l went down like a sack of spuds. Get a grip & go do a risk assessment. This is dangerous. Whilst your at it, get some bar staff, only 2 serving at a gig, waited 20 mins. Such a shame, could be a great venue. Battered & bruised, Paisley

D
Daniel Mc Garrity

Food was good however service was terrible. We checked the online menu so we would be prepared, only to find the menu online needed updated. The bar manager was more interested in chatting to a member of staff. I had to find an empty table and clear the debris. I asked someone to clean the table. Eventually a girl came along sprayed the table then a quick wipe , not cleaning the whole table and left a coffee stain. When we had to go into the venue we were greeted with church chairs squeezed so close there was no space. There is more space on a Ryan Air seat. Due to the way the seats were placed it made it awkward to enjoy the concert.

Cottiers would be improved by a visit from Licensing Standards Officers. The Licensing Board would be interested in the ratio of beer to foam (roughly 20 to 25 % foam, which is illegal according to the Weights and Measures Act), served in a pint glass, by Cottiers staff. The worst offender is the male manager, and, as with all things, the staff are led by example. My work colleagues and I have just agreed to stop drinking at Cottiers because of this, we can endure high prices, but will not put up with being ripped-off. The best, and worst, type of advertising comes by word-of-mouth, bad word-of-mouth can sink a business, maybe remember this and shift your focus from ill-advised, illegal, short-term gain.

Went to bar on a few occasions staff incompetent poured some drinks then took payment then said bring the rest outside why? Then purchased a couple more rounds of drink costing over £60.00 On next occasion at the bar my husband spilled the 4 pints of beer all over himself as the tray was bevelled Bar tender very rude and unhelpful he could have replaced but instead he made him purchase them all over again as he had to clean up the spillage He was soaked through not even offering something to clean him up Very unhappy customers will not return
