Had a blast with my friends. The unlimited sushi experience ❤️ Favourites: salmon sashimi, salmon nigri, tuna nigri, spicy chicken roll, salmon maki. 🍣
Sushi for starter was amazing, Thai Green Curry was perfect. Highly recommended.
Tasty food, great service from staff. Would definitely go again
Attended Yen for a leaving lunch for a colleague, service was very efficient and friendly - food was lovely, highly recommend
Amazing food.. amazing service... "must go" restaurant in Glasgow :) cheers
Very happy with everything. I recommend chilly and salted ribs and their Japanese noodle soups.
Excellent food and service. Would certainly recommend
Lovely food, nice friendly service. Good value for money and in a unique historical site.
Staff very friendly. Great food. Straight of the m8. 2 min from ssec perfect 👍
Fantastic restuarant very close to rhe Hydro and the S,e,c,c .Great quality . Very large range of top quality dishes😀
Highly recommended. Very good food and friendly staff. Great location for a meal before or after an event at the secc
Great food. fast delivery and comes very well presented. will be ordering again!
The food was amazing, fresh and cooked to perfection. Service was very friendly and quick. Would highly recommend.
Nice place before event at the hydro, free parking if you can find a space, 2 course pre theatre is good value, and although the place is very busy, plenty staff on duty and the food is ready pretty quickly and tasted great
Fantastic food and fantastic service; went with 7 friends and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I had the seafood pad Thai and it was faultless. Second time I've been here and haven't been disappointed.
Yum Yum Yum. Very good food from the guys at Yen Oriental restaurant. The sushi was fresh and all the food was cooked well. There was a bit of delay ordering but the food came out quick as. Tasty!
Very friendly service. Not rushed but relaxed. Food excellent.
Nice food, generous portions. One point lost for how squashed together the seats were.
Very enjoyable, great service directly opposite the SSE HYDRO GLASGOW Reduced parking if you register ahead.
This chinese based resturant on the quay by the Clyde river has very good food. Service is very good.
Good food, staff attentive, hoping to go again soon.
Great service, good food and perfect site for parking.
We ate sushi (Kobe) for dinner, and was very delicious!! We arrived two times during this trip.
This was good, great curry in pleasant surroundings. Only complaint would be that the meal was served on cold plates which rapidly cooled the meal. Would definitely go back just for the curry but pleas, not on a cold plate next time.
Food was very tasty unfortunately the service was a little slow
Food from pre-theatre menu was average at best. Staff were great but let down by mediocre fare.
Food is brilliant. The service is slow and you have to ask 3 or 4 times to get drinks or bills.
Very handy for the local hotels they don't have a restaurant or in the case of the Crown Plaza if you fancy something a little different. The food was decent enough, the service was slow and it wasn't busy. I'd probably try the other restaurants in the building before going back.
Nice restaurant on middle floor of Rotunda building. There is an Italian restaurant on ground floor and American diner on top floor. Yen serves a variety of Asian food- Thai, Chinese and Japanese. I had Thai which was ok. I've had better but certainly had much worse. Service very friendly and quick contrary to some reviews.
I get the impression that the staff here operate under huge pressure every single day. Over a period of time, this simply takes its toll on staff and translates to their service and ultimately their guests. Yen might have to sit down and examine its operation, dissecting it piece by piece and put it back together again in a simpler fashion in order to move forward. It has the potential to be something really good but needs urgent refinement before its reputation sinks below breaking point. Like its staff.........
Food very good but the service was terrible. Waited over 20 minutes to be served and that was only after asking two different servers if we could order. We also had to stop a server to order dessert as no one can to ask us if we wanted one.
The good was good, but if you have a picky eater and your going for pre concert food the menu doesn't really cater for normal pallettes, the staff were all confused and all over the place, the drinks we placed during main meal came well after desert, they gave us the wrong bill, but I understand it was a busy time for the establishment but it did feel very incompetent and lacklustre, I asked how the sweet and salted chicken was prepared .. she simply replied .. cooked.. In the future i would probably swerve this place and probably go to the bar and grill instead,
Dined here on numerous occasions, enjoyed the experience, until last night, so disappointed, service was pretty poor, tables squashed together you could hear customers conversations, all in all will be a long while before I contemplate returning,
Dont go before a Comedy Club show starts, they wont serve you full menu as there to busy, we had booked well in advance yet had to make do with set menu and not cheap, taste good though, then every one leaves to go upstairs and the place is empty.
Went for the all you can eat Sushi night. Let's start with the positives: the sushi was actually alright. Had better, had worse in my life. The service however was shocking. Waiting one hour on 15 pieces of sushi is horrenrous. Having this repeated twice after is even worse. Then, while still sitting and waiting for food having a grumpy waitress throwing someone else's bill in front of you takes it to another level. Took us over 10 minutes to get another waiters attention to give the bill to the right table. We then asked where our food was. It had at that point some comical element observing the waitress arguing with the sushi chefs on whether we received our food or not. At some point they came back to ask again if we received it. No. We hadn't. By this time the tuna was out. Honestly the first time in my life I didn't leave any tip. And I thought the comedy club was upstairs and not on the middle floor of the Rotundra.
We arrived with more than 2 hours to spare before our show and were told they needed the table back in an hour which was not a problem. We ordered and there was an hour between courses, despite us having to remind them we still hadn't got our food. Then when it came it was wrong but since all the serving staff disappeared, we had no option but to eat since we were going to be late for our show by this time. Staff were too busy talking among themselves and ignoring our attempts to catch their attention. It was not a cheap meal and I was more than disappointed with everything about the restaurant.
Slow, not very tasty, bad warm wine, Ferraro Roche ice cream deserts seemed like they had been in freezer for over a month in the individual bowl with ice crystals and all, an espresso with bailey’s came out as a latte. Only 1 other couple in the restaurant besides our table. Shares a kitchen with the Italian restaurant downstairs. Staff was very friendly and the sashimi was good and no one got sick. This restaurant became the running joke of the group as to why you shouldn’t try to order sushi in Glasgow.
Didn't enjoy the food at all...... and cocktail was terrible...
If you want a terrible food, please visit this restaurant. I can't eat anything..I'd like to give no star. We ordered
Like sitting in a cattle market. Thai green curry worst I have tasted. Overpriced do not go .
What a lovely venue to arrive at and to walk up the stairs too full of anticipation.. To be greeted by the most grumpy waitress, served the most average (the beef was off) food.. And to be charged top dollar after complaining three times - Give this place a miss.. You would be as well at a fast food place for less than half the price
Total disaster zone! First I was told I couldn't order off the main menu so I had to pick off the pre concert one. Ordered a red bull - no red bull! Starters all came fine then out of the party of 5 myself and one of my friends main came. Then 10 minutes past and I had to ask if the rest of the mains where coming and also ask for more drinks. After eating my cold curry I ordered the chocolate gauteau surprise surprise NO GAUTEAU!! Then when the guy came to take payment he asked if everything was ok!! Well no I explained to him and he said sorry that they changed to a Korean restaurant 4 months ago. Not sure how that factors in with anything and after 4 months if no one can do their job properly then that job isn't for them!!!!! Will not be going back!
Food was fine last time we were in but the service was diabolical Starters finished at 7pm, hot plates brought out at 7.10pm, enquired where our food was at 7.30 and it still didnt arrive until 7.40. shocking service but food great as always
Ordered food on just eat and phoned up right after placing the order to correct the address. Still managed to send to the wrong address and was forced to wait 2 hours for cold food. Absolute joke
Horrible. Food is disgusting. Masquerading as quality Asian food. Far from it. Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Service non existent. Tom yum soup equated to stock with 3 mushrooms halved floating about in it. Thai beef salad equated to chewy cheap beef with more onion than one person could even eat. Avoid avoid avoid
We booked a table at this restaurant tonight prior to going to the Kevin Bridges show at The Hydro. We ordered drinks that took a bit of time to come and then ordered food. The starter came fairly quickly but after three quarters of an hour and despite speaking to two of the staff, one of which was extremely rude and dismissive, we paid for the drinks and left or we would’ve been late for the show. Not somewhere we will be returning.
I attended at this restaurant recently. I ordered the mixed sashimi platter which l thought would come with salmon and tuna and other single sashimi options which it didn’t. Instead platter came with salmon, white fish (unknown), prawn, and a greasy oily sashimi l think either squid or octopus which was not very nice. Unfortunately that night l had an upset stomach from this meal. Restaurant are aware but are dismissive of this. I would be cautious if attending and ordering sashimi questioning its freshness.
Waited over 1 hour. Ordered curry chicken bento box. The curry chicken was brown and a piece of fried chicken cut up. Hard tasteless and unsavory. The sushi was warm, the miso was dirty. Headed back been to Sartis for a decent meal. Never again.
I don't know if there has been a change of management or what since these reviews, but when I went there last night with a friend the food was nothing short of appalling. Fairly flavourless and the sort of meat that has absolutely no texture so you know it is really cheap. The service was actually pretty decent, but we were seriously disappointed with the food. NB. No teppanyaki there.
Extremely slow...waited over half an hour for our food. Went for the sushi night, been treated as we are begging for food from the waiters since we have to ask them a couple times for our food. If you are looking for a sushi place, please look otherwhere else if you don’t want to be disappointed at the poor service.
