The food was delicious! The service was wonderful! We also ordered breakfast burritos for the next morning due to having an early flight and not much opened, they were also soo good and huge! We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Pepe's was delicious food with great service and live music. We arrived with a very large group (about 30) and they graciously accommodated us. We had a wonderful time. Had a grilled chicken salad and a Blue Hawaiian. Both delicious. Would definitely return

Really great food. The Chicken Tamale was very tasty, and the Chile Relleno, filled with soft cheese, was a delight. The plate was scalding hot and really kept the Relleno hot!! Real flan too!

Did you know Happy hour starts when they open at 11a? Tasty beverages and the weekday lunch specials are just the right portions. Patio is dog-friendly. Extra parking is just across the street. Wheelchair accessible front entrance. Pepe's is always a good choice.

One of my fav places for brunch buffet with Mimosas. They have an array of Mexican breakfast items. They also have an omelet and waffle station. Staff here is always friendly and attentive. A must have!

If you're looking for a Mexican joint that's a little bit special and formal without having Yuppie prices or attitude. Pepe's is the place! I ate in the bar for lunch. There's both table and bar seating available, and the furnishings and atmosphere are quite pleasant, although it's probably more boisterous in the bar. if you want quiet chose the large dining room. The bar has a good selection of beer on tap as well as all types of hard liquor. Lunch specials were $10.95 including ample rice and beans and a tiny salad. I declined the offered chips and salsa - not sure if their gratis. My chicken enchilada was delicious. Plenty of off street parking, free guest WiFi. What more do you want?

Pretty much Tex Mex but but the cocktails are delicious and the fancy stemware is cool. Salsa has a decent kick. Large portions, private lot and street parking available.

The saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," seems to be the guiding philosophy at Pepe's in Old Town Goleta. The regular customers show up in droves to dine on simple versions of familiar favorites. This family-style restaurant has been in business for decades, so I guess you can't argue with success.

My son and I visited Pepe’s for the guest time today. If it’s important to you, there is no real cell service in the building because it was built so long ago. The service was very slow and there had very few servers to take care of everyone there. I ordered the Goleta Marg and it was very expensive for the very small amount you receive. The Salsa was authentic but could have been thicker and with a little spice. I ordered the shredded beef chimichanga. The flavor was outstanding and it came out hot and crispy. I will definitely be back.

I had a very unpleasant and upsetting experience at Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant. The manager, Hansel 😡, told me he didn’t care about my dietary restrictions and refused to let me microwave my own food so I could eat with my friends. He was extremely rude, dismissive, and degrading 😤. Instead of communicating respectfully or trying to resolve the situation, he chose confrontation and never once offered an apology — until the very end when I pointed it out myself 🚫. Only at the end did he suddenly claim it was due to “contamination.” The waitress serving our table decided to follow his lead and was rude as well. She reminded me again that I wasn’t allowed to microwave my food, and when I told her I had already heard it once, she snapped back, “I will not be talked to like this — I’m going to get Lola.” 😠 This made me feel unsafe, something I’ve never experienced in a restaurant before. I immediately packed my things and told my friends to collect the bill and not leave a tip. On my way out, I asked the bartender for the owner’s name so I could follow up about how I was mistreated — but the bartender refused to give it to me, saying it was “personal information.” 🤯 The food itself was also disappointing 🤢. The children’s burger 🍔 looked plain and flavorless, and the beans 🫘 were mostly just cheese with very little substance. For the price, it simply wasn’t worth it 💸. As a Lifestyle Medicine Nurse Practitioner, I find this restaurant’s behavior to be an absolute disgrace 😔. It is harmful to anyone trying to manage their health, dietary needs, or food sensitivities. No one should be shamed or denied basic respect for advocating for their wellbeing. I highly suggest not eating here 👎. There are so many other great Mexican restaurants nearby 🌯 that actually serve good food and treat their customers with kindness and respect 🙅‍♂️. This one, unfortunately, is the worst of the worst 💀. And to my patients and anyone living with dietary or health challenges — I’m so sorry you, too, have to face people this mean, rude, and disrespectful 💔. Please stay brave, keep advocating for your needs, and don’t let encounters like this discourage you. You deserve understanding, compassion, and care — always. 🌿💪

I ordered 4 carne asada burritos to go in place, not over the phone, 40 minute wait to get them, I hardly found the meet, lots of beens (nasty by the way) and lots of rice, I paid $80 dlls for 4 been and rice burritos; really, I though for the cost I paid they were gong to be good, but never mind, I will never come back or recommend this place. Pepe’s need to taste Lolita’s in San Diego and learn from them.
