This bakery is really good. this is the second time that we came back to this bakery because the cheesecake is good. The cannolis are good. All the desserts are tasty. The first time we went in we just stopped by picked up some desserts and left. However, this time we stopped by, got a table, had some drinks and ordered our desserts. It was a really good experience. The tiramisu martini is delicious. all in all a really good time. we will be coming back here next time we are in New York City.

One of my favorite Italian pastry and bakery shops in New York City! Definitely the best one in Little Italy/Chinatown area!!! Most of other bakery shops usually get their pastries and bakeries from here, anyway. This is the quintessential classic Italian pastry shop everyone should visit in Little Italy. Pastries are absolutely delicious and service is great!! It was so good that we bought extras to take home, too. Highly recommended 👌 Scale 1-10: Food-9 Price-8 Service-10 Atmosphere-10 Cleanliness-9

A wonderful place full of flavor and sweetness! The service was excellent, and you can feel the history in every spoonful. The coffee, pastries, and hot chocolate are all wonderful. A must-stop in Little Italy!

This is a great coffee and dessert place. It is family owned and been in business for 130 years. My wife said it was the best tiramisu she has ever had!

I went to Ferrara in Little Italy and really enjoyed my visit. The bakery has such a classic and cozy atmosphere — you can feel the tradition the moment you walk in. I tried the tiramisu, cappuccino, and Napoleon. The tiramisu was good, but for my taste it could have used a stronger coffee flavor since it was very light and subtle. The cappuccino was smooth and went perfectly with the pastries. The highlight for me was the Napoleon — it was absolutely delicious, with perfect layers and a rich, creamy flavor. The service was friendly and quick, even though the place was busy. It is a little on the expensive side, but honestly it was worth it for the quality and the whole experience. I’d definitely come back to try more of their desserts.

A classic for a reason. Owned by the most kind family, same recipes for 100 years, and it still holds up. Beautiful building they maintain. We have to keep places like this in business. You get what you pay for and it’s incredible. I’ll always, always come back.

Napoleon and chocolate mouse are awesome !!! Hot chocolate and coffees are not the best but they dazzle them up to look soo pretty !!! Restrooms are clean and upstairs.

This dessert shop has almost everything!! Too many things to try in the first visit. Got the cannoli but it wasn’t my favorite. It was crunchy and semisweet. I wish I had tried something else instead which I’m sure I probably would’ve liked which is why I gave the three stars but it probably deserves 5 for everything else.

Ferrara Bakery & Café in Little Italy is a charming stop when you want classic Italian pastries done right. The cannoli are crisp and fresh, the espresso has real depth, and the whole place carries that warm, old-New-York feel. Fun fact: Ferrara has been family-run since 1892, making it one of the city’s oldest Italian bakeries.

This is a must stop on your walk through Little Italy in New York City. If you happen to be there during the Feast of San Gennaro festival "The Feast of all Feasts!", you'll be in for a real experience. Old school, old world, it's special.

Amazing beautiful cafe I took my girl to. Ordered the special French toast meal and she got the acai bowl shown. We sat outside and the lady brought it to us. Even gave me the syrup and hot sauce. It tasted delicious and looked gourmet. Thank you very much to the workers here for producing such fantastic food. Coffee was fresh and great as well.

We come here multiple times every time we come to the city. Annamaria makes you feel like family. Treating my daughter like her own grandchild. Letting her taste whatever she wanted. Sat and talked to us for several minutes made recommendations. Absolutely loved speaking with her. Eric was our server both times we went and he was awesome!! The desserts speak for themselves this place hasn’t been open for over 130 years for no reason. It’s a must in little Italy 🇮🇹 🤌🏻😘

Ferrara Bakery & Cafe in Little Italy is a true New York treasure. We tried both the classic cannoli and the chocolate-dipped version—absolutely delicious! The filling was creamy and flavorful without being overly sweet, just the way it should be. The fig cookies were another standout and definitely a must-try. Beyond the incredible pastries, the staff made the experience unforgettable. Our server treated us like family and was just the sweetest, and the cappuccino she made was one of the best I’ve ever had. Between the warm service, the welcoming atmosphere, and the unforgettable treats, Ferrara is a must-visit spot in Little Italy.

I love this place! Everything we ordered was wonderful, even the things we wouldn’t normally eat tasted good. I would definitely come back for more.

First Italian bakery in the US so definitely go be a part of history! 😉 Tiramisu has a silk texture, absolutely delectable!!! Lobster tail was a good one too given it wasn’t too sweet and very nice fresh and crunchy!! Service was poor.. right from looking to be seated to having someone take the order to getting hold of someone for a cheque.. It wasn’t busy in a Friday afternoon! Overall I would recommend a “GO”

My Ferrara Bakery & Cafe Review Had a fantastic time at Ferrara Bakery & Cafe! The cannoli and classic cheesecake were absolutely incredible, seriously some of the best I've ever tasted. Even though it was busy on a Thursday night, the service was decent. Highly recommend for amazing Italian desserts!

Your visit to Little Italy wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Ferrara Bakery and Cafe. The gelato is amazing. The cappuccino is authentic. The staff treats you like family. The ambiance is charming. The bathrooms are CLEAN. The bakery items are beautiful and so quintessentially Italian. I love all of it. 5 stars.

A Love Letter to Ferrara Bakery & Cafe – A Little Italy Treasure If you’re looking for authentic Italian pastries, timeless tradition, and genuine warmth in the heart of Little Italy, look no further than Ferrara Bakery & Cafe. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years, and I can say without hesitation—it remains one of my absolute favorite Italian bakeries in all of New York City. Each year, without fail, I visit Ferrara’s to stock up on gifts for family and friends—especially during Easter, when I purchase their stunning uova di Pasqua al cioccolato, the traditional Italian chocolate Easter eggs. These aren’t just sweets—they are part of a treasured cultural tradition, steeped in memory and meaning. This year, my schedule was hectic and time completely slipped away from me. I found myself scrambling just days before Easter to get the eggs—and of course, I couldn’t leave without grabbing a few of Ferrara’s lobster tails. Let me tell you: these pastries are divine. Flaky, golden layers of pastry with a creamy filling that’s perfectly balanced—not too sweet, just right. I meant to bring them home… but full disclosure: they didn’t make it. I devoured them in the car. That’s how good they are. But this visit turned into something even more meaningful. While at the bakery, I met a woman behind the counter whose kindness left an impression I’ll never forget. I explained to her that I wanted to purchase a special chocolate egg for my uncle. His mother—my beloved grandmother—had passed away just a few months earlier. He had been her caregiver for many years, and with no children or spouse of his own, I wanted him to have something heartfelt and traditional to bring a little light to his Easter. This lovely woman took the time to listen and truly understand. She didn’t just help me pick an egg—she guided me to the most beautiful one, wrapped in an elegant orange silk scarf. It was more than just a gift; it felt like a hug wrapped in chocolate. Her warmth, empathy, and attention made me emotional—and incredibly grateful. In the middle of the pre-holiday rush, she gave me the kind of human connection that’s rare these days. I didn’t catch her name, but I want to publicly say: thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness meant more than words can say. To the team at Ferrara Bakery: you are more than a bakery—you are part of the soul of New York. Your pastries are iconic, your atmosphere is timeless, and your people are golden. I will continue to come back year after year—and I will always share your story. Grazie mille, Ferrara. May your legacy continue for generations to come. “Food that feeds the soul, beauty that speaks volumes, and travel that tells a story always through the eyes of Italy Loves India.” — Alyson Savino

My wife and I love the pignoli cookies here. You can buy 5 for $9 or 1 pound for $36. Don't rush this experience. This is place where you should sit, relax, take a time out, and take in the artful confections surrounding you. There are some very interesting items to gift to someone you care about here.

You have to try the breakfast panini here—it's one of the best, with unbelievably soft bread. The zucchini fritters are perfectly crispy, too. It's also a fantastic place for classic desserts like cakes, cannoli, and tarts.

3.7 stars. Pricey. Small gelato was around $8. Quick family ice cream run with tip ran us $36. Flavor was average. Service was good. Interior was colorful with various sweets and treats enticing you to blow your diet. Worth checking out as this is an institution. Just bring your wallet though!

I’m always in the area and wanted to finally try this spot! Just from the atmosphere alone I knew it would be costly but it was worth it. It’s very cute and intimate inside with plenty of options as well as international treats. I picked up the Lemon Meringue and the Cannoli Cake. The only reason I gave this rating an overall 4 is because the wait was extremely long for only having 4 people in line, but as for the desserts they were very good and very filling. The Lemon Meringue was exquisite and trumped the Cannoli Cake by far with its flavor. I’ll definitely be back to try some other treats. (My total cost was $16)

A Sweet Taste of Little Italy Ferrara is a dessert lover’s dream. The cannoli are perfectly crisp with creamy, rich filling, and the tiramisu is light yet full of flavor. The coffee pairs beautifully with any pastry. It does get busy, and prices are on the higher side, but the quality and atmosphere make it worth a visit.

While walking around Little Italy, I stopped by a pastry shop I chose based on Google reviews. I ordered a coffee and three different desserts. Two of the desserts were excellent, but one was not fresh, so I sent it back. Unfortunately, they didn’t even apologize. Their customer relations was very weak.

I’ve been coming here for many years and have always considered it a New York institution. Last night, my family and I stopped in for dessert after dinner, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. We ordered rainbow cookies, which arrived with no jelly at all—yet the jelly is the defining element of a rainbow cookie. We also ordered a Napoleon, which tasted stale and not fresh. My wife had a cannoli, and it was bland and far below the quality we’ve come to expect. I’m not sure if the ingredients or preparation have changed, but it’s extremely disappointing to see such a longtime, iconic establishment seemingly prioritize cost over quality.
