This place has that rare kind of charm that makes you feel like you’re in on a local secret. Classic Andalusian tavern vibes, tiled walls, wood barrels, and a bar full of regulars chatting like it’s their living room. We stopped in for a drink and ended up staying for a slow, joyful feast. Every single drink came with a complimentary tapa, warm, flavorful, made with care. Tiny stews, cheese on bread, grilled bread with jamón… nothing fancy, everything satisfying. At La Gran Taberna, some of the house wines are poured straight from oak barrels behind the bar, offering a rare chance to taste local favorites with a hint of wood and tradition in every sip. We accidentally stumbled upon this place and we came back two days in a row. It offers simple but excellent quality tapas and wine. Prices are more than reasonable and you get a complimentary tapas with a drink. Atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, waiters are very friendly and overall experience is great. I’d definitely recommend this place.

Authentic tapas. We had a cheese plate, ham, and tortilla. The sangria is perfect. Not sweet. Just right. Our server was serious but efficient. I like clean places and this establishment was spic and span. They were constantly cleaning the kitchen, which makes one feel good about what they're eating.

An old world atmosphere greets you followed by a wonderful drinking and eating experience. If you are just having a drink the free tapas are large and tasty. If you have a meal the food is outstanding. Between two of us we had a small platter of mixed smoked and salted fish and a small platter of mixed cheese and pate. It was enormous and despite being an odd combo it was outstanding.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Gran Taberna. The tapas that came with each drink order were delicious and the server was helpful even with our very limited Spanish skills. The mixed board of Jamón, Manchego, chorizo, lomo, dry sausage, pate and lox was very good. The house salad was good - we really wanted some vegetables. The vino tinto was the perfect temperature. We would definitely return.

With every pair drink you get a free tapas. Does it get any better than that?! The food tastes homemade and it just absolutely delicious! The drinks are super cheap and the Sangria is amazing and cheap!!!😍 This is a traditional Andalucian place with free tapas with every drink just like you hear people say. If you visit then, I promise you'll not regret! Thank you for everyone that served us the many times we went back!

Nice place to try out some tapas . The staff here is very friendly staff and the vibe is very local. There weren't many tourists here. I had the local Alahambra beer with a bunch of tapas: Lomo plancha, Ventresca de atún and Palometa con caviar. Definitely recommend the last two. They also provide free tapas with drinks and I got the Morcilla de Granada on my visit.

On a three day trip to Granada, I visited every day. Very reasonable prices and a good selection of tapas with every drink. Staff are a bit surly but don’t let it put you off!

Muy buen sitio para pasar el rato con amigos, bastante ambientado, muy buen servicio el que nos dió el camarero, súper amable, muy extrovertido siempre q nos atiende tiene una sonrisa en la cara y que nunca les falte sus joyas jajaja, nos encantó a mi marido y a mi, ojalá ese trato lo tengan todos los camareros, porque ese día solo fue el único capaz de atendernos, volveremos por el!!!. El único punto negativo sería ese, faltaría un cambio de camareros, pero por lo demás buen sitio, buenas tapas y buena comida.

Stopped for a quick lunch. The restaurant looked full from the outside but we were seated upstairs where all the tables were still free (Saturday 15:00 lunch peak time in November). The portions are quite big and a salad, a plate of meat/cheese, a ham sandwich and 4 tapas toasts were enough for 5 persons. Everything was tasty! We loved the lomo toast with Roquefort as well as the bacon with 🫑 The server was a bit unfriendly but got the job done. Don’t expect a word of English.

Taberna en el centro de Granada, ambiente bueno y decoración típica y tradicional española, productos nacionales, tiene buena fama. La música es muy original y no me la esperaba. Regresaremos.

De tapas estará bien (no he probado). Pero en el comedor deja bastante que desear. Los pimientos del piquillo y las croquetas de cocido de las que venden congeladas. La brocheta de solomillo correcto. Camareros desagradables y precio alto.

Escribo esta reseña por el trato de los camareros. El bar está bien, buen ambiente y típico bar de Granada. Diría que la comida no es la mejor que he probado estos días, pero tampoco está mal. Los camareros han sido muy poco atentos, teniendo que recoger los platos nosotras mismas, que vengan a atendernos y que ni nos hablen, y un largo etc que nos ha hecho sentir a disgusto.

Hemos sido clientes habituales de este bar porque siempre hemos estado muy a gusto: la comida es excelente, el ambiente es agradable y el trato por parte del personal siempre ha sido muy bueno. Sin embargo, hoy hemos vivido una situación que nos ha dejado muy disgustados. Un camarero (nos dijeron primero que se llamaba Manuel y luego José), joven, con gafas y pelo castaño, nos trató de forma poco profesional. Hizo comentarios fuera de lugar por ser de otra ciudad de Andalucía, llegando a decir frases como: “iros a Sevilla, que allí a ver qué os ponen de tapa, seguro que nada”. Además, cuando pedimos elegir la primera tapa con nuestra segunda bebida, nos vaciló y nos habló con mala actitud. Nos hemos quejado de su comportamiento como clientes de manera educada, y su respuesta fue aún más agresiva, en lugar de intentar solucionar la situación. Valoramos mucho este sitio y por eso nos duele que haya pasado algo así. Siempre hemos tenido experiencias muy positivas aquí, pero lo ocurrido hoy nos ha dejado una sensación muy negativa. Confiamos en que haya sido un hecho puntual y que se tenga en cuenta para que no vuelva a suceder.
