We ate at Ocean 82 on our 2nd night (of 12 nights) on the island. This was hands down the best meal of the entire vacay! The communication was excellent - booked online and had a personalized reply within 60 minutes. We were actually greeted in the street by the maitre 'd as we walked towards the restaurant. We were given a table right on the edge of the dining room, affording us an incredible sunset view. The staff were all incredibly warm, kind and helpful. From explaining the specials to singing happy birthday after a world-class meal. And the food...truly outstanding! The pate was amazing; the escargot were so tender and delicious; the soups, lobster bisque and french onion, were the best that either of us have ever had. The stuffed, rolled chicken breast was very well executed (just a bit dry). The monster lobster, fresh from the tank, was the show-stopper! It was halved, with half done Thermidor and the other half flambeed table-side...simply divine! On an island with an abundance of delicious food options, Ocean 82 is THE MUST. PERIOD.
This is a beautiful seaside restaurant that serves delicious and hearty meals with an elegant French twist. Couples are heard speaking in various languages as this restaurant draws patrons from all over the world. Gorgeous ambiance, impeccable service, and delightful food. *The Soufflé is SPECIAL.
Wonderful dinner with an amazing oceanside table, view of the bay and Anguilla in the background. Service was absolutely perfect and the food and drinks were delicious! Highly recommend Ocean82
Cannot express how wonderful this meal was! Service was exceptional (thank you, Eric). Food was the best we've had in ages. Cocktail du jour was perfect. Attention to detail was incomparable. Celebratory treats capped off an anniversary and birthday with flair!
Excellent restaurant. We don't give praise easily being Professional Chefs ourselves, but this was our favorite restaurant yet in Saint Martin. The lobster bisque had to be the best I have ever had in my life. Service was good, but the view & the food stole the show. Not used to such small seabass, but that Beef Wellington was delicious. We finished off with the Souffle a la mode. They didn't really do much for our 10 year Anniversary celebration but the entire experience was a good one. It's quite expensive but you can see why when you dine there. Looking for great? Highly recommended.
We had a beautiful Valentine’s Day dinner. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, atmosphere was beautiful and romantic. Food and drinks were delicious. The sauces were well constructed and added to each dish. Everything we had was delicious. We would definitely return again.
Had an incredible lunch on the way to find some beach chairs to spend the afternoon. First, the setting is stunning. The service was friendly and fantastic and the food was incredible. We weren't starving so we got several small plates to share including the lobster and mushroom ravioli, lobster bisque (which they were sweet enough to split for us) and a cheese plate. Even the bread and butter we started with was incredible. Definitely a must -visit in Grand Case!
If I could give it 6 stars I would. Food was awesome. Great views.
Killer views with delicious food. We had the 1/2 lobster, lobster bisque, Seafood Pot and Foie Gras. This is sort of a splurge restaurant but in my opinion worth every cent. Planes fly directly overhead to land at the nearby airport.
Some of the best food we had on the island! Everything was incredible!
A place we kept coming back to — again and again Our first visit to Ocean 82 happened completely by chance. We were just passing by very late in the evening and asked if it was still possible to come in. We were welcomed immediately and seated at a table right by the water, with an absolutely flawless view. We weren’t even hungry that night, so we only ordered a few appetizers — and everything was delicious. There were five of us, all with different tastes, and every single person enjoyed everything. That alone was enough to make us decide we had to come back. We returned for dinner — and then again. Each visit confirmed our first impression: consistently excellent food, atmosphere, and service. The service was exceptional — warm, attentive, genuinely kind. The waiters made us feel relaxed and welcome, never rushed, always smiling. The cocktails deserve a special mention. Without exaggeration, these were the best cocktails we had on the entire island. The bartender — a lovely and talented young lady — was simply outstanding. Every drink was perfectly balanced and beautifully made. Their house-made rum with passion fruit was absolutely delicious and truly special. The view, the atmosphere, the people — everything felt effortlessly beautiful. At one point, we decided to try another French restaurant nearby just for comparison — and honestly, we regretted not going back to Ocean 82 instead. We ended up leaving and returning to Ocean 82 anyway, even though we weren’t hungry anymore. We ordered the tuna tartare again, because it was quite simply the best tuna tartare I have ever had anywhere. We stayed for drinks, chatted with the staff we had already come to know and like, and simply enjoyed the moment. The Irish coffee was the best I’ve ever had in my life. Martinis, desserts, appetizers — everything was consistently excellent and enjoyed by all five of us. This restaurant gave us moments of pure pleasure, warmth, and genuine joy. Our two favorite restaurants on the island are La Cigale and Ocean 82 — and Ocean 82 is absolutely a place worth returning to again and again.
Ocean 82 absolutely blew us away. My husband and I had lunch there yesterday and it was one of those meals you keep talking about long after you leave. He ordered the scallops, I had the seafood pot, and we split the French onion soup. Every single thing was incredible, but that soup was hands down the best French onion soup I’ve ever had. The seafood pot had the most flavorful broth I’ve ever tasted, and the seafood itself was unbelievably fresh. On top of the food, the views are stunning. You’re looking right out over the beach and ocean, which makes the whole experience feel elevated and relaxed at the same time. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was just as good as the food. If you’re anywhere near there and love fresh seafood and a great dining experience, this place is absolutely worth it. Would go back without hesitation.
When they knew it was our anniversary, the seated us at their best table with an amazing view of the beach. Our cocktails were expertly made and it is the only place I know that still has a stock of Lillet so if you want a trues Vesper martini, this is the place! Our food was amazing. Escargot perfectly cooked. My wife had a lobster bisque that you would swear was stirred by the lobster himself it was so fresh and tasty. I had a gaspacho that was a perfect blend of salty, spicy and so fresh. My main was a surf and turf with beef tenderloin that you just had to look sternly at to cut it, it was so tender. Desset, wine, coffee, all amazing. Our waiter, Jan and his team made it a truly special night.
What a wonderful evening. My first visit and I was very impressed. We had Escargot and crab cakes for another appetizer and both were delicious. We had Lobster x 2, 1/2 Cajun 1/2 grilled both delicious for sure, the service was awesome could not do Desert way to full. Nice wine selection. What a great experience thank you. See you again very soon
What a wonderful restaurant. The service was impeccable. The view was incredible right on the water. The food was absolutely incredible the escargot melted in your mouth. The fresh fish was superb. The frog legs were on point. Beef wellington, and French onion soup. Everything was amazing
What a wonderful find. This ended up being one of the best lunch experiences we’ve ever had. The food was incredible, the service felt genuinely caring, the drinks were perfect, and the view just made everything even better. Sirine and Livio made us feel so welcome—please say hi to them from us. Highly recommend.
Ocean 82 always seems to be suggested as one of the fine dining establishments you have to try when visiting St. Martin. It was closed during our last visit, so we were excited to give it a try. To get the meal started we chose a couple of appetizers including mini crabcake balls, one of the daily specials served with a remoulade sauce. Our second choice off the regular menu was their Lobster and Mushroom Ravioli with a balsamic and Madagascar peppercorn sauce. Maryland, USA residents would have given the chefs there a slow clap for the crabcake execution. They could be served anywhere on the Eastern Shore and nobody would have known the difference. For not familiar with Maryland's obessession with crab, they will turn their nose up in a second, if the crab has too much filler or if it is not cooked properly. My wife really enjoyed the ravioli. I know this because I was only allowed two small bites. From my small sample size I savored the delicate pasta pillows. The main course was a tough choice. My first thought was to go with the Roasted Sea Scallop with Smoked Duck Breast Carpaccio served with lentels and foie gras sauce. Do you blame me? That sounds mouth-watering, but I passed. I move on to the Braised Lamb Shank. It was "cooked for 24 hour" with white wine, honey and rosemary. Can you imagine the depth of flavor in that meat? My taste buds said yes, but I passed. Directly below the lamb shank on the menu was Braised Beef Chuck with Burgundy garnished (bacon & mushroom). Our waiter agreed, if I was down to the two meats, he felt the clear winner was the beef chuck. I ordered the Scalloped Potatoes to accompany the beef. I pulled each piece of meat away with my fork, swirled it in the sauce and finally rewarded my mouth with decadant bites of perfection. I slowly chipped away at my tower of potatoes as well. Their distinctive cream, cheese and herb taste complimented the beef well. My wife kept her seafood streak alive on the island when she chose the Local Tuna Tataki with mango chutney and a carmel soy sauce. The tuna presentation was simple but elegant. It showed the beautiful of the fish by itself with the sauce in a small ramekin and minimal garnished. The fish was perfect alone, or dipped in the sauce. She ordered mashed sweet potatoes as a side, in case our Thanksgiving dinner the next day didn't have them. We finished the meal by sharing a Crème Brûlée and espressos with Amaretto. Service was excellent with a team of people helping us. The wine list is impressive, but so are craft cocktails being made by the bar. We elected a couple of rounds of the latter over the wine. Ocean 82 has a beautiful back deck that overlooks a cove off the Anguilla Channel. You pay for that view with a meal that will run you around $100 more per couple than similar restaurants on the island. Maybe take a pass on the Onion Soup. It was not at the same level as the rest of the meal. I should have gone with the lobster bisque.
Food, service, and ambiance was perfect, we had the best table in the house for viewing the gorgeous sunset. My husband had the salt baked sea bass, I had the basil risotto with grilled shrimp, we shared the souffle for dessert, and every bit of it was perfect! Sirine provided top notch service, all of the staff were more than welcoming and kind. We'll absolutely be returning!
Such a great place above the beach. Stunning views, charming personnel, menu you want to taste all - we were amazed by options how to treat ourselves the best French-Caribbean way possible, with a great selection of wines by inspiring sommelier Dauphine - she definitely got an extra award of our appreciation for explanations, pairing proposals and great wines we had with our meals. If you are gourmet foodie this place is worth visiting.
This was gem we stumbled upon while in Grand Case area. As you enter it is clean and modern vibes with ocean views. The staff were friendly and attentive. We did not have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us. Additionally they had vegetarian options and offered a few other options. We tried a few of the non-alcoholic drinks which were refreshing. The food was well flavored and aesthetically appealing but portion size was good for one. We also tried the desserts which were equally delicious. Overall this place was provided great ambiance, food and service.
We went for lunch. It was not busy at all- but- service was excellent. Every dish was just work of art- beautifully prepared and delicious. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
We went to celebrate my wife birthday. We did arrive a bit early for our reservation, but was able to sit at the bar until our table was ready. The service was excellent, and the food delicious.
An Evening to Remember at Oceans 82 From the moment we sat down at Oceans 82, I knew we were in for something special. The view over the bay was absolutely stunning — the kind that makes you want to put your phone down and just take it all in. Add in the gentle breeze and the glow of the setting sun, and it already felt like the perfect night. We kicked things off with escargots bubbling away in garlic butter — rich, garlicky, and so good we were practically dipping bread into the dish to catch every drop. Then came the tuna spring roll with fresh apples and imperial sauce — such a bright, fresh bite, with the sweetness of the apple playing perfectly against the silky tuna. But the real showstoppers were the lobster pastas. First, the homemade lobster and mushroom ravioli in basil and Madagascar peppercorn sauce — soft, delicate pasta stuffed with tender lobster and mushrooms, all swimming in this aromatic, slightly peppery sauce that I’m still thinking about. And the lobster fettuccine? Generous chunks of lobster, perfectly cooked pasta, and a sauce so good I didn’t want the plate to end. The service was spot-on the whole night — friendly, attentive, and they seemed genuinely happy to have us there. Oceans 82 isn’t just a dinner spot — it’s the kind of place where everything comes together: the food, the view, the people. Can’t wait to go back.
High-end dining experience. Beautiful & relaxing. Loved that they let you have time to enjoy the appetizers before serving the main meal. You can tell they are very attentive to time everything just right. Very high table turn around. Popular spot!
This elegant place with am ocean view offers fantastic French food at reasonable prices. The food is presented beautifully and the flavors are exquisite. Fantastic!!
As a NYer with high standards, I can safely say I will be thinking about this meal for a long time. I definitely recommend the duck and the French onion soup! Special thank you to George and the rest of the staff who were all so lovely and accommodating.
Ocean 82 was a standout dining experience — exceptional service, incredible food, and breathtaking views right by the water. Every course was beautifully prepared, from the rich lobster bisque to the perfectly cooked surf and turf. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the evening feel special. While the cocktails were just okay, the overall experience more than made up for it. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
We celebrated my birthday here and it was fantastic. Amazing service and incredible food. We loved the crab cakes and both enjoyed the surf and turf. The soufflé was perfect for dessert. The oysters were the only thing we would not recommend. They were small and didn’t have much flavor. Definitely a perfect place for a celebration or an amazing meal.
This restaurant is one of the best on the island. Everything on the menu is prepared with finesse and talent. I ordered the frois grois and the beef Wellington. I knew their chefs were on their game to perfectly execute the beef Wellington, which is difficult to prepare to get the pastry cooked along with the beef inside being medium, which was done to perfection. These chefs are extremely talented. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The views are beautiful with a glass that overlooks the ocean. The atmosphere is relaxed. The staff ensures they use fresh linen on the tables, checks in on you frequently and changes out the utensils.
Our family always makes a point of coming to Ocean 82 during our annual visits to St. Martin. The wait staff is truly impeccable and the food is divine...always. One thing though, when I booked this time directly with the restaurant I asked for a table with an ocean view and they said YES we can book it, but DID NOT when we got there...a little disappointing this time around.
5 Stars - Exceptional in Every Way Ocean 82 absolutely deserves its reputation. From start to finish, this was the kind of dining experience that reminds you what hospitality is supposed to feel like. Despite being clearly busy, our servers were attentive, gracious, and never made us feel rushed. The kitchen went above and beyond to accommodate my serious food allergies—no hesitation, no fuss, just genuine care and professionalism. It’s rare to find a restaurant that handles dietary restrictions with such competence and warmth. The food itself was impeccably prepared. Everything that arrived at our table was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Special mention to the sommelier, who truly knows her craft. Her recommendations were spot-on—she paired us with one of the most delicious bottles of wine I’ve had in recent memory, and it was absolutely perfect with our meal. That level of expertise and thoughtful pairing elevated the entire evening. Grand Case has no shortage of dining options, but Ocean 82 stands out for all the right reasons: skilled kitchen, knowledgeable staff, and a genuine commitment to making every guest feel valued. We’ll absolutely be back. If you’re looking for an excellent meal with service that actually cares, this is your spot. Highly recommended.
It was a dining experience! From the signature cocktails to the presentation of the live lobster at our table, to the rum tasting that comes with the bill. If you like onion soup, get it! So rich and delicious. The sommelier is top-notch with her knowledge of wine and was delightful to talk with. Our server guides us with our selections and was spot on. My husband had the lobster thermador. Fabulous! I had ceviche and snapper. Wonderful! Don’t miss the gratin potatoes. The hosts were quick to move around tables to accommodate incoming guests and stopped by to check on us. It is expensive but as I said, it wasn’t just a meal, it was a dining experience! Make a reservation.
We walked in with no reservation and although the restaurant was clearly very busy the host asked us to wait and within 5 minutes had a table for us. The manager Sarah served us and she is truly a gem. She helped us with choices and got us truly excited about the menu. She was attentive and came back to check several times. The food was absolutely incredible with amazing service. Our experience at this restaurant would be hard to beat. The food and the staff are truly amazing.
We recently dined here as a large group of adults and teens, and everyone left impressed. Our server was friendly, attentive, and offered excellent recommendations that everyone enjoyed. Between us, we sampled nearly every dish and dessert on the menu — each one was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The pan-seared foie gras, lobster bisque, and the soufflé were absolute standouts for me — all perfectly executed and delicious. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. I can’t wait to come back again!
Ocean 82 delivers an experience that’s as much about atmosphere as it is about food. From the moment you walk in, the vibe and energy set the tone: lively, stylish, and unmistakably fun. It’s the kind of place you remember not just for what you ate, but for how it made you feel. The food is very good, although priced on the high end. What truly elevates the experience is the service, fun, friendly, attentive, and genuinely collaborative. The staff adds to the energy of the room, making the evening feel relaxed and engaging rather than transactional. Ocean 82 is memorable for its vibe, but the food and standout service ensure it’s worth returning to.
We enjoyed our night here! Food was great. pricy but great. Views incredible. Service good and friendly. In general, in grand case, you sit to enjoy your food. No where expect fast service like the states because you truly do have to sit enjoy and savor. Lobster bisque was delicious!!
Seasons 52 on the French side of Saint Maarten delivers a refined dining experience that blends ambiance, flavor, and thoughtful service in a way that truly stands out. From the moment you arrive, the waterside setting sets the tone, calm, scenic, and effortlessly elegant. Dining with the view of the water creates a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and savor every moment. The food presentation is exceptional. Each dish arrives like a carefully curated piece of art, clean plating, vibrant colors, and clear attention to detail. It’s obvious the kitchen takes pride not only in flavor but in the full visual experience. The meals taste as good as they look, striking a balance between elevated cuisine and comforting familiarity. A special note of appreciation goes to Sarah, our server, whose professionalism and warmth elevated the evening. She was welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely attentive when present. Her demeanor made us feel valued rather than rushed, which is exactly what you want in a destination dining experience. If there’s one area where Seasons 52 could move from excellent to near flawless, it would be slightly improving the consistency of check-ins between courses. While service was attentive overall, more frequent touchpoints, especially during longer gaps would enhance the flow of the meal and ensure guests never feel the need to look around for assistance. Overall, Seasons 52 is a standout restaurant that delivers strong value through ambiance, presentation, and quality service. With just a touch more responsiveness in timing, this would easily be a full 5-star experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal with a stunning waterside view on Saint Maarten.
Great views of Grand Case beach and sunset. Service was good until we were ready for the check, it was slower as it was busier by then and they were short staffed. We had the steak tartar and the foie gras for appies. Those were delicious, I highly recommend. However our mains were not great. I didnt even take pictures of those. We got the seafood pot, it was lacking any flavor, even salt. Supposedly made in a coconut curry but didn't taste it. Second dish was the penne arrabiata, which was just ok. Would not order either dishes again. Maybe we ordered badly on the mains. I'm not sure if we would return but I did enjoy the view and ambiance, for that, I would recommend.
Nice view, but mixed experience Ocean 82 in Grand Case offers a beautiful ocean view and a pleasant setting, which was definitely the highlight of our visit. The atmosphere is lovely, especially if you’re seated near the water. However, the food was average and did not quite justify the high prices. While everything was fine, nothing really stood out in terms of flavor or presentation. We were also celebrating a birthday and had mentioned it in advance, but unfortunately it was completely overlooked, which was disappointing for a restaurant at this level. Overall, a nice location, but the experience did not fully live up to expectations.
Ocean 82 trades on reputation: ocean views, polished menu, premium prices. On paper, it promises refinement. In reality, the experience is uneven and often careless. We had an 8:00 p.m. reservation on a Sunday and arrived at 7:55. There was no hostess and no greeting, we had to hunt someone down. We waited 45 minutes for a table and were told it was due to a parade that had passed hours earlier. A restaurant calling itself fine dining should recover faster than that. The setting is undeniably beautiful. We sat on the raised platform overlooking the beach, but the room was packed and loud, and the energy felt chaotic rather than elegant. Food was inconsistent. Oyster ceviche was excellent. Pasta with clams and steak dish were good. My steak with foie gras was delicious until I found a blonde hair on the foie gras. My friend’s seafood bowl arrived lukewarm with frozen shrimp. When it was sent back, they removed her food, utensils, and sides without apology or replacement. It was later comped, but the moment was already lost. Service felt irritated rather than gracious. A waitress laughed when my husband struggled to pronounce a wine. No one explained the wine list or made suggestions. Staff rotated through our table, but no one took responsibility for the experience. When concerns were raised at payment, the response was defensive. Ocean 82 is not failing because of its food—it is failing because it does not understand hospitality. Beautiful views and good dishes mean little when guests feel ignored, rushed, or ridiculed. Fine dining is not foie gras or oceanfront tables; it is how carefully a restaurant treats the people who trust it with their evening.
This place used tobe my favorite spot to come and eat with my family, but on my last visit it was not the best. Atmosphere and decor is still one of the best on the island, but service was sub par. The waiters were busy yes, but they did not seem like they wanted to be there. Food was ok, as their presentation was not put well at all. The most disappointing was the dessert and their selection. They used to have the beautifully presented and delicious desserts, I would say the best on the island, but I dont know if they changed their chefs, as it has definitely dropped from my favorites now.
A little disappointed. Food - we ordered the lobster thermador, and the surf and turf. The lobster thermador was fine. Nothing exceptional and the flavor was lacking. The small steak for the turf portion was cooked as requested to medium rare, but felt a bit more chewy than a steak at a previous restaurant. The pepper sauce was good. Service - they provide a standard bread basket and butter. The butter was nearly frozen and difficult to spread, so when the main course came, I asked the waiter for some soft or liquid butter for the lobster (surf portion). We didn't see the waiter again until we had finished and asked for the check. Ironically the very expensive check, came quite quickly. Atmosphere - I'm sure for those seated on the platform, it is a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately, we were tucked in an odd angle between the main dining and the patio dining, without much of a view of anything. My wife annotated in the reservation that we were celebrating an anniversary, but that was never mentioned or addressed. Honestly, I should probably give this a lower rating - but trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.
While the food is fantastic and the view superb, I was disappointed in the service during our last visit - it seems to have severely deteriorated in the last year. While I don't expect the American level of constant attention, the total lack of regard we received is not what I've come to expect. There were only two seating times available, 5:45 or 8:15, neither of which are very accommodating for a Tuesday. We took the later seating, and when we arrived we're told that they were already very backed up. We were seated around 8:30, and it took until almost 9 to take our drink order (the only one we got, even with trying to wave down a server, they never came back to get us another drink which we had wanted). Our food came at 9:30, and was delicious, but we never received the sides we were supposed to get per our servers comments. By 10:15, we felt it was too late for desert, so opted for an apertief. They brought us the wrong drink, and it took over 10 minutes to call someone over to fix the mistake. Our bill then came, and had erroneous charges on it, which we also had to wait to fix. We were told that the restaurant was very full and they were sorry for the delays, but it really felt like they crammed in more and more tables knowing they couldn't provide the classical service we were used to. It's really a shame, we used to love going here and trusted their recommendations and sommelier. Definitely needs some changes before we'll try again.
Did not meet expectations, sea bass salt curst was serve incorrectly. Slow service, we waited 35 minutes for them to bring our steak after they brought us a very well done steak after we asked for medium. Lots of room for improvement. Food was good and tasty.
Oysters were amazing, French onion soup was ok but needed more juice less bread. We had to flag down our waiter for drinks. Ordered a nice bottle of wine and was told that they would pour each glass and that didn’t happen. We waited over 2 hours for our meals which the sea bass was recommended and was ok BEWARE 7+ bones left in for a fish prepared table side. The shrimp were dry and overcooked. Food came out cold and the potatoes gratin were hard, cold and inedible. We always order dessert and we were afraid what would come out. They did try to make it right by removing the main dishes from the bill. At one point I walked by the bar and the amount of dirty items made an impression there. We were told they are short staffed and can’t handle large quantities of customers at this point in time so why take a party of 14. We were rushed to get our order in before theirs but the disorganization would’ve not made much of a difference. When we came in to sit down they knew it was our anniversary. Zero was said. You do not know who you are talking to especially when they bragged to us they were the best on the island not knowing we know those who own top restaurants and other chefs on the island. We were disappointed at the lack of knowledge and the we are #1 attitude yet I don’t know if I would return. Sad to say great location but for what was served maybe start from the ground up. Screaming kid at 9:30 at night in a fancy restaurant
We've have dinner here multiple times before. While it is usually a bit hectic, it merited a return. This experience was sub par to put it kindly. The view from the veranda is remarkable, 5 stars. However, that is where the restaurant peaks. This service felt like a house on fire. Staff is literally running from table to table. We were seated promptly, but it took 10 minutes to get menus and another 10 to get a wine list (which is wildly over priced). An order wasn't placed until 20 minutes after that. Multiple instances of silverware hitting the floor in addition to dropped and shattered dishes and dumped trays. Steaks ordered Medium came to the table Blue. The re-fires came back barely rare. The soufle were underdone (think raw whipped egg whites in between a caramelized top and cooked bottom). There are multiple better choices of fine dining in Grand Case. Disappointing to say the least. We won't be back.
The food looked better than it tasted. Service was the only thing decent at this place. We were at the restaurant for over 2hrs. Food was not good and took forever. I wouldn’t come back here if the food was free. Another thing that pissed me off was having the lobsters in the front of the restaurant but not putting lobster in the lobster bisque.
Overrated place. The service was an avarage, the lobster was bitter, seems to be not really fresh. On the middle of our dinner they turned pretty loud club music (in a fancy restaurant? Yeah). Skip this place, we were in other restaurants around for a week and the Ocean 82 definitely on the last on everything.
What a terrible experience. First time in Sint Maarten and first time eating on the "french" side (we stayed on the Dutch side). Service was terrible. Reservation was at 745 pm - at the time I'm writing this, it's 10:02pm....and we're still eating dinner. We literally feel invisible. The server has ignored us the entire evening, and the food is average at best. Super overpriced- which is fine every now and then on a vacation, but this experience was over the top disappointing. Not sure if it's because we're black, but looking at another nearby table right now (who are also black), they seem to be waiting an inordinate amount of time as well. A shame, as this restaurant came highly recommended. If I wanted overpriced, underwhelming service, I could've gotten that at home. If you value your time, save the visit here - plenty of great restaurants on the Dutch side. Edit: As I am writing this while we're eating, we've finally finished our dinner (10:02pm). No one has checked on us - not one person. Hopefully we can get the check by 11pm. Finally got the check at 10:20pm. I can't believe I've wasted this much time for food.
Please don’t come here. I wouldn’t reccomend this place to anyone. For starters, there are bugs all over the place. They said that’s out of their control. Their service was absolutely horrendous. We waited for 30 minutes for the server to even come over to take our order. He proceeded to check out for 4 tables in the time we waited. They very easily could have taken our order then took payment from the other tables. We ordered 2 Caesar salads and a few plates of pasta. 20 minutes later they brought out some cold/hard bread with cold hard butter. From the time we placed our order, it took well over an hour for anything to come out. They proceeded to bring our pasta and decided that the salad should come after. When asking where the salad was, he said coming soon. A simple salad with no protein took over an hour. The waiter and manager were unsure why we were upset and wanted to leave. The manager claimed the waiter “misunderstood”. Salads come as appetizers before your main not after. We were shocked we had to explain this to him. He rudely turned around and angrily began to talk about us in French to his staff. Without eating, we paid for 2 bottles of water and 2 cups juice ($27 USD) and left. What a horrible horrible experience. What rude management and staff.
