My fave bbq in North DFW Airport - Ribs, Brisket will compete with any place - you won’t leave hungry or disappointed.
Party of 6 and we all enjoyed the BRISKET It was very lean & tender Wide variety of sides to choose from and Every single one was delicious! All desserts are homemade. We tried it ALL FRIENDLY STAFF CLEAN ENVIRONMENT HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This is our absolute favorite BBQ spot in the DFW area - food it simply amazing, staff is always great, and prices are better than the competitors which is nuts because the food doesn't even compare to Bartley's! They are so good, my daughter had them cater her wedding. The foodie crowd from across the country, coast to coast, all said it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. Ever. Period. No contest. They couldn't believe it was a local BBQ for us - everyone was AMAZED. Go Bartley's, you guys ROCK!
For years, this was one of those drive-by restaurants for me. I was skeptical about really good BBQ being in a little strip mall. I’d had no mentions from my “BBQ snob” buddies about it, either. Today, I decided to give them a shot. And, you know what? I’ll be back! Very friendly folks. The lean brisket was tender and smoky. Not an overpowering smoke, but it was there. The ribs were okay...though on the chewy side. Was my first time to try smoked bologna, and it was yummy. There are a lot of options for those who like spice, including the charro beans, jalapeño cornbread, and an available spicy sauce. Everything in the photo, including the drink was $20 even. I'm a hearty eater and now I'm full-for a twenty dollar bill! 👍🏻
I'm particularly picky about BBQ, reluctantly I went with a group for dinner yet as soon as I opened the door I was greeted by the sweet smoky smell of a world class smokehouse. I hadn't planned on getting as much food as I did, I left stuffed and happy with leftovers. I had the 3 meat plate with smoked turkey, jalapeño cheddar sausage and I specifically asked for the fatty point of the brisket and the butcher knew exactly what I meant. "I got you boss" was all he replied and sliced me off a generous portion of each. The barbeque baked beans were savory with a subtle sweetness and the okra was fried to perfection. Against my better judgement I had a healthy portion of pecan cobbler and I do not regret my choices. The turkey was smoked so that the flavor penetrated to the center and was moist and super tender, the sausage was definitely not lacking in flavor, cheese or jalapenos and the brisket, I don't mean to be crass but as soon as I tasted it, I made noises no grown man should in public. I tried all of the house made sauces and they were all fantastic. It was great food with good friends and made my entire night. THANK GOD Har**** Hall was closed and we decided to go here. I will return, I will sing their praises to everyone who asks for a BBQ recommendation but I fear they have ruined me for every other smokehouse that is closer to my area.
The loaded baked potato was ginormous and overloaded with bbq and toppings. Mama had pork loin and ribs and they were delicious as well! The service was superb. Such a pleasant welcome for our first stop in Texas!
Bartley's does amazing catering! We ordered the full works for fajitas, nachos and enchiladas and they set it up beautifully. Instead of ground beef we used chopped brisket. They can accommodate custom orders- we added extra peppers and told them to kick up the spice a notch. Casey was knowledgeable about exactly the right amount to order for 35 people without breaking the bank or being stuck with tons of left overs. This family has been in the restaurant business for generations. They know what to ask when you call - just tell them what you want and they'll make it happen.
We were in the Grapevine area dropping off a customer’s vehicle and decided to stop in at Bartley’s BBQ — and man, are we glad we did! The brisket was tender, smoky, and packed with flavor, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage was out of this world — juicy with just the right amount of heat and cheese. The BBQ beans were rich and tasty, rounding out a killer plate. On top of that, the portions and prices were a great value — you really get your money’s worth here. Excellent BBQ and friendly service — definitely worth the stop!
I was in the area for a dental hygiene conference and one of my patients who lived in this area told me that I MUST try this place out before heading back to FL. I’m so glad I did! I went came around 3pm on a Saturday and thankfully it wasn’t too busy, however I decided to order for take out since I had to get back to my Airbnb. The establishment is spacious and they have plenty of tables to dine in. Lots of parking in the plaza as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I had no idea what to get but decided to go with the 2 meats and went with the chopped brisket and chicken breast, both wow so delicious. For my sides I went with the carrots and Mac & cheese. I was told by the staff that the carrots is one of their best and they did not lie! Even if you’re not a carrots fan, wow they’re soo good! I love Mac and cheese so of course I had to try theirs. I just have to say writing this review is making me upset knowing I can’t have this again until I go visit Texas again.. Wah I definitely recommend any local or tourist in the area if you’re looking for a great bbq place, I know when I come back I’ll be going back!
I know the photos look standard BBQ fare. It is not. I am very aware & eternally grateful for how serious Texans get about their BBQ. The owner isn't from Texas, but they are OWNING Texas BBQ. Can't-miss BBQ joint that needs to be in your rotation. I will be dreaming about this food for weeks.
Really nice BBQ restaurant with friendly workers. Everything was really tasty. I got the 3 meat plate with 2 sides so I could sample a lot. Everything was done well. The ribs were flavorful, moist, and pulled off the bone nicely without being mushy. The brisket was tasty, moist, and tender. I tried the bologna for the first time. It was good. Nothing needed sauce, but they have sauce served warm. Nice touch. The mac'n'cheese was cheesy. The cole slaw was standard. $20 for 3 meat platter with drink and tax is a bargain for this quality BBQ.
We were running the audio visual for a conference nearby, and found this place via a Google search. The ratings were good, so we decided to check it out. The food was AMAZING, the two gentlmen behind the counter were extremely nice, and the prices we good. 🎉 The gentleman serving the meat brought out a new brisket and cut it right in front of us - even though they were 30 minutes from closing. Talk about great customer service! 👏🏾👏🏾
We stopped in for an early dinner. They have remodeled the facility and expanded. It was bright and very pleasant. I got the pulled pork and my husband got the Wednesday 1/2 chicken special with the sides. Everything was delicious. They served up a good amount of food for a very reasonable price.
Wednesday 10.49 chicken special can’t be missed. The chicken is very flavorful and falls right off the bone making it juicy and tender. Like a real bbq they have lemons and Jalapeños. The customer service was top notch. Food was fresh and delicious. This place awesome and prices are very low compared to other BBQ houses. This is a must try chicken, it’s really good and not dry. Update 10/30/24 I went by again for the Wednesday special and boy boy, the chicken was even better this time. The carrots are super good and the chicken was very juice and tender with an explosion of amazing flavors. I highly recommend the chicken here, you won’t be disappointed and for the price on Wednesdays it’s highway robbery.
I discovered Bartley's many years ago and this place is by far one of my favorite BBQ spots in DFW. The assortment of meats (ribs, brisket, smoked chicken, Cajun turkey, pulled pork, several sausage options, and even smoked bologna) and fresh sides they offer are the best. The mac n cheese, baked beans, greens, and rolls are all must haves. Although they don't offer all you can eat BBQ on Fridays anymore, you can still get all you can eat catfish on Friday's. Bartley's is definitely the only stop for BBQ if you're in the Grapevine area. If you're not in the area, it's still worth the drive for some good BBQ. Pricing and portion sizes are very fair!
We came in while on vacation from Missouri. The staff was very nice and helpful! My son has a food allergy to Mustard and they helped make sure he could eat what he wanted. The food was good and big portions. We had never had smoked Bologna and we all loved it! Will definitely be back again if we come back to the area! Maybe even before we leave! 😀
This was my very first time visiting this restaurant and I can tell you that the food was not disappointing! I ordered a 2 meat plate, which came with slices of smoked sausages and ribs. You'll see from the photos that the dishes, on the whole, were pretty tasty. The ribs were incredibly soft, indicating that the cooks at this restaurant know how to cook ribs! I'm fairly certain they cooked those ribs to death, because they were falling off the bone, and the bones were tasty, too! LOL... The turnip greens were a bit "interesting," though. That's the best way I can describe them. I feel like they had a bit of a "smoky" taste to them, which was something I did not expect to taste whilst eating turnip greens. I'm not sure how they accomplished that... It's not that they were nasty, but they just had that smokey taste, which resulted in the turnip greens having a bit of an aftertaste. Nevertheless, I still ate them all! I also had a piece of jalapeno cornbread, that had a bit of a kick to it because of the jalapeno peppers, yet it was sweet at the same time. Another interesting choice! :-) The corn was basic whole kernel corn, and there's nothing special to write about it. I also want to say that when we arrived there, to get our food to go, they were closing up. But I appreciate the fact that they did not lock their doors early nor did they rush us out of the restaurant. We had adequate time to order our food and they even allowed me to sample a couple of things before making a decision. Furthermore, the entirety of the staff were fabulous! Everyone working at that place, near closing time, was all smiles and giggles, and they cracked jokes and they were fun to be around! It's definitely a place you should visit sometime in the near future. I'm confident that you will not be disappointed.
I have said this time and time again, “just because you are in Texas and sale cuts of meat that are utilized for BBQ, does not mean that you provide a good tasting high quality product to the consumer at all.” Liquid smoke soaked meats cooked in an oven and drenched in drippings and oil does not compare at all to meat that has been cooked low and slow on a BBQ pit with wood and fire. Like they say, “if there’s no smoke, it’s not real BBQ!” My first experience here was highly disappointing. The female behind the counter had an attitude because I did not know to grab a tray. The brisket and sausage were so dry and crystallized on the edges it was like eating beef jerky. It was hard and chewy and tough with no smoke flavor at all. I could not enjoy the meal, period. After a few bites my jaw started hurting from having to chew through the boot leather I was served. I was on the toilet for 3 days doing the Texas 2 step due to this disastrous decision that I made to eat here. Online it says, “we provide an all you can eat buffet,” but when you get there they don’t. I was told, “we don’t own the rights to the Google page for our restaurant” Hmmmm Sus….
