Found this one in Tulare,Ca... I Love the Papa Burger and it was good to get to eat one again after the one here in Bakersfield,Ca closed more than 30 years ago

Burgers are as good as they usually are. Root beer is the same as I remember from childhood.

Staff was friendly, efficient. I always have a special order, and for once I knew I didnt have to check it, because the cashier repeated the order, and made sure it was correct

I’ve been eating at A&W since it was a carhop and it’s only gotten better, I was so happy there was some in Wisconsin. Brought a flavor of home to me.

It's hard to find a good hotdog but A&W"s are very good. A nice change from eating burgers all the time. And their chicken strips are the best!

Everything was clean ! Food was hot and the service was perfect. We got burgers ,chicken sandwiched , fries, cheese curds ,corn dogs kids meal , and a grilled cheese . Also got 3 mini mugs to add to the shot glass collection

My friend Ken and I stop here once a week to get something to drink after volunteering at the local museum to work. We are always greeted with a smile from Elaine and served promptly.

What a great surprise this was the restaurant was very clean including the restrooms that had also recently been remodeled service was fast & friendly & the food was delicious I had a double bacon burger with fries & a root beer float in the glass which was very good parking out side was plenty & easy for my bigger car as well this older part of Tulare really has some great spots to enjoy

Great experience. Tuesday was buy a papa burger combo and get one free. We added bacon to both burgers and got the chilli cheese put on our fries. Cold mugs for the root beer and paid just under 13 dollars. Food was cooked right and service was great. Place was very clean, no sticky tables or dirty soda fountains.

The Papa burger is one of my favorites. Used to love going to the original A&W as a child with my family. It was a special outing and among Tulares' first fast food restaurants, if not the first. Straight out of Happy Days, servers on roller skates and in car eating. Not to mention the ice cold mugs of their famous root beer. Unfortunately my childhood favorite Jo-burger is no longer on the menu, but my 62 year old pallet has changed and I'm not so sure it would hold the same appeal. My wife proclaims they also have the best onion rings to be had. I'm more of a fries-guy and rate A&W fries in my top 3.

Good food tasted very good, freshly made, fries hot and delicious, not leftovers reheated, the employees were very nice and helpful, they cared about their customers, not like other fast food places

traveled from Bakersfield a month ago to try the burgers and damn it was Worth it I thought Wendy's had the best food burger but boy I was wrong a&w got the best burgers I've had in a long time and the hot dogs just as good and the cheese curds 😋 definitely will come back and try the ice cream for sure

Clean lobby and restrooms. Stopped for a quick treat during a long road trip and they didn't disappoint. The root beer float was huge, my Reese's shake was great, and the onion rings were very good, which I would definitely get again. The root beer was from tap, a nice touch. Good experience,

Elaine H.’s service is great! When we entered the restaurant and walked to the restroom seeing that a code is required to open the doors, Elaine shouted from behind the counter that she will open both doors for us before we even asked. Soon after I placed our to-go order and while self-pouring our A&W root beers, Elaine said our double Papa burger is ready. She is fast, efficient, and quick to anticipate customers’ needs. Would have loved to sit down and enjoy our meal and our root beers in chilled mugs, but unfortunately we have a long drive ahead of us at the end of Memorial Day long weekend.

I always love going to A&W for some food it reminds me a lot of the good old times. I always love getting their root beer with a burger or anything really everything taste very well and well cooked. The place was always super clean when I had been there, and people working there are pretty nice to me as well. Service is great. The atmosphere is great as well. Food was on point. I would totally recommend it to anyone else wanting to try something delicious

A&W is well deserving of a 5 star rating. Since A&W restaurants are few and far between. My only way of enjoying this amalgamation of traditional American food and decor is on a road trip to see my wife’s family up north. Nothing else mattered the closer I got to A&W. The sign sparkled in the sky. I reach the promise land. A heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream floating in the world famous A&W root beer. Accompanied by a delicious big papa combo. Who knows when I’ll eat here again so I had to get a second large root beer float on the way back home.

Fries and burgers takes great. Root beer was good. The tables are dirty. Tops get wiped down but the sides are always sticky or have food. Employees are nice. They are always helpful when ordering.

In a sketchy area, but the restaurant was clean, cared for, and cute. Loved the big root beer tap and the food was pretty good. We don't have an A&W in our area, so it was a nice throwback to my childhood.

Food pretty good but still pricey... a&w is more of a treat since I'll spend almost double elsewhere. It's a classic place so I'm sure we'll be back. Always good music playing & the temperature is awesome, because who wants to eat inside somewhere that is hot.

Nice staff (drive through). Quality of food was good (Root beer freeze). Lids don't fit well (spilled TWICE in my car. Straws aren't tall enough to accommodate large drinks. Details like this shouldn't be an issue :(

Got an order of mini corn dogs, French fries, a hamburger patty with cheese no bun. Came by for soft serve after going to the movies with our granddaughters

I'm not a fan of their food, but my sister wanted ice cream so I went ahead and ordered a caramel Sundae and oh boy it was amazing. Way better than DQ! Prices are actually not too bad.

The food was good but the cashier was chatting with another co woker toward the back and didn't pay attention to the fact I had been standing there for a number of minutes as well as other customers. She could be heard but not seen.

The Burgers are all right, definitely different from the other fast food places. The fries though top notch. I go there just for their chili cheese fries.

Their Root beer Floats are definitely good. I think they are a little up there in price. The 🍔 Hamburgers are not as good as Triangle Burgers, or Wimpys. The 🍟 fries are good, and they are usually fast with the orders. But fast doesn't make the food tasty. I'd rather wait a few minutes longer if I'm able to enjoy my food and if it has good taste. In all reality Fast Food Combos Or Meal Deals cost as much as lunch at Chili's, even Olive Garden depending on what time of the day you go. I think I'll go to A & W for The Root Beer Floats 😌.

Went in to enjoy some root beer floats which are always five star. Only problem was that it was so hot inside the restaurant. I can only imagine how the employees felt in the back cooking.

Was a nice and unforgettable experience met my first husband there go there every year.. I still feel him there.. was our favorite spot plus the ice cream was his favorite .

The food is really good but really expensive and really small portions.. we stopped there after hours of driving and they wouldn't let us use the bath room because they're were gonna be closing in an HOUR an they already cleaned so yea.....

Staff was cool but the food was horrible the little mini corn dogs were all burnt up fries was super salty I asked for barbecue sauce and they gave me Ranch and I hate Ranch just tastes like the grease was old I could take everything they made with one bite of the chicken tenders

I ordered the shrimp and fries and won't be doing that again. It was obviously premade and had been sitting in a freezer too long. The shrimp was tough and flavorless. The tartar sauce that came with it tasted funky and made me wonder how long it has been sitting around and if I was going to get food poisoning. The root beer float was the only thing that lived up to my very limited expectations, but it was made and delivered 5 minutes before my meal so that I had to have my dessert first if I didn't want a melty puddle instead of a float.

My first review ever and that’s saying something. I loved A&W ever since I was a kid, but today was something else. While eating in the parking lot an older woman working came to the car window screaming at my s/o to get out and sweep up some lettuce pieces off the ground she dropped. She called her a “b*tch” when she refused. Being that i work in the food industry also I would’ve lost my job on the spot. Horrible customer service, but good food. Wouldn’t go back only because I wouldn’t trust that specific worker handling my food.

Hours aren’t correct on here. They don’t open till 11 am on Sundays and I had someone in town wanting to get a&w because they don’t have it where they live. Unfortunately the hours weren’t correct on here and she couldn’t stay any longer

Food was good, close to closing and they didn't want to let us use the women's restroom because they just cleaned it. Used the men's and then they locked them. Not happy

Is this a drive thru or a clown school for mentally disabled societal rejects? These people should be under clinical care, to make sure they dont hurt themselves while finger painting. They certainly should not be handling food.

Today I went to A &W and I ordered the papa burger combo go large with the root beer, and the burger was fine but for the 2nd time my fries were old and they must have put them back in the fryer a 2nd time to heat them up. My throat tasted like I swallowed a bunch of oil!

Stop locking your lobby at random or ridiculous times! It’s 8:10pm and the lobby is locked! I don’t think I should be punished or you should lose my business for me not being able to access your restaurant to order food at a pretty normal time. Pretty basic stuff here guys!

This was an amazing experience, as i ralk to tbe GM of a franchise. She tells me that i can have a cleaning products that isnt approved in the restaurant. So how do companies come and make demonstrations to sell their products for hundreds of years already. So her employee steps up and says msds , which in these days are just SDS and any cleaner has one of those. So next i ask if i could show her what im talking about....and she says i need to leave. Well i hope her boss reviews those videos cause wow how bad was that for a GM
