Why 5 stars? Out here there isn’t another avocado salad like this around for miles and miles... Pro: Nice / helpful staff. Con: Unreliable WiFi.

Texas sized plates and food. Very tasty chicken fried steak with okra and fantastic pinto beans.

I don't go here often but when I do it is always been nice. Good friendly people and have always been good me. Great food, if you're into it then try the huevos divorciados for breakfast and the brisket tamales are always good to. I really haven't had a bad thing there.

This is one of the best cafes we have come across in this part of Texas, and we travel all over our state, every chance we get. Our waitress was awesome, even though the restaurant was at capacity. Food was exceptional and fast. Can't go wrong with the chicken fried steak and/or chicken. Okra, fries and gravy were perfect! Bathrooms were very clean. Thanks for a great lunch.

Good food, great atmosphere, very clean restrooms, excellent service, and an overall perfect small town restaurant. Pretty good hamburger steak, great fried catfish, very good sides, and wonderful tea. I especially enjoyed the brisket omelette. It was simply amazing and the salsa served with it complimented it perfectly. Good size food portions also. I can't wait to return. I highly recommend this quaint little restaurant. I'm already looking forward to having the omelette again!

Chicken Fried Chicken,Okra,& Pinto Beans Order from Menu Was Too Die For on 1st visit, then on return trip Home, We stopped again on Sunday & ate from the Buffet & What a Selection!! Again!! Excellent!!! You Don't Leave Hungry For Sure!!! And Yes!! Service Was Top Notch!!!

Food tasted phenomenal. Cooked perfectly. We ordered peach cobbler to go. Although it was delicious and very flavorful, the AMOUNT we got did not match the price we paid.

Best place in years we have eaten. Chicken Fried Steak was awesome And the fries were sooooo good. And the sweet tea reminded me of home.We drove over an hour and a half to eat there. We will be going back..

Chicken fried steak a great choice and avocado BLT both come highly recommended by Christina(sp?). Burgers looked great too! Wish i had room for the breakfast, which is served all day!! Check it out!!

And very good customer services, its my second visit, and I love it. Try the Longhorn Burger, its soooooo good to where when you take your first bite, it makes you wanna go to the kitchen and slap the cook and tell him, what's wrong with you! For making a very good Burger! 😋

Lovely Lunch! Dined in on 2/23/24 with friends. Convenient on the main drag of town (Hwy 290). Level, free parking to the side of building. Rustic, clean decor and sizable, seat yourself dining room. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Bathrooms were very tidy. Orders were taken correctly and food was delivered in under ten minutes. Lovely small town atmosphere with patrons greeting each other warmly on entry or leaving. Casual, relaxing and we would eat here again. Highly recommend.

I totally recommend this restaurant. Came in with my husband, we were on a little mini vacation. Misty and Ezekiel were great servers, came by our table to check on us and were very friendly. We ordered a little of everything. Our favorite were their pancakes, just like mom's. The food was great, comfort food for the soul!

My family of 4 stopped here for breakfast on a Saturday morning, around 10am. They were busy, but not packed. Our waitress was very kind and was apologetic if something was missed or forgotten, to which we promised we didn't mind at all. My son's chicken and waffles were great while my partner and I had the longhorn breakfast, everything was delicious and well prepared. I asked for well cooked eggs, which is usually what goes wrong but these came out great! No espresso coffee, just drip which I never find a reason to try. Ha. Def stop by, you'll enjoy it. My kids were put off by all the antlers and animals heads on the walls, but us from the city don't ever see that.

Great service. If you go for nothing else, go for the service. They make you feel welcome, even though you might not be a regular or a local. (Fortunately, my wife is from nearby Kerrville.) And the food is tasty, copious and affordable. That’s all that counts. (If you’re looking for decor, this isn’t the ideal place, but the other attributes more than make up for this.)

Best cafe I have ever had, and I am a picky eater. They had so many sides and main dishes. Service was excellent. They had plenty of seating and bathroom was clean. Definitely will drive hours to eat there again.

This is our favorite place to eat in three counties. The food is fantastic, portions are generous, service is solid, and the prices are reasonable. Favorites include the chicken fried chicken, the pork chops, the man salad, the shrimp salad, the house dressing—I could go on and on.

It was all great (from going in, to service, to food, to leaving) & was the first time we'd eaten there. We'll go back next time we're in TX

The food was very good tonight. The service was good. the size of 10 in the party, and we did not call a head. Got the table immediately, no wait. Would recommend.

Long time patron with family in Harper. Decided to get the chicken/waffle that has always been well made and delicious but I also love the huevos divorciados.... Big Decision!! The chicken waffle were awful. Whoever decided to change their recipe made a bad decision. The chicken looked like a frozen cutlet and the waffle bad too I did cut into the chicken and the waffle and I couldn't continue with it! Because I really wanted a great breakfast!! I told the waitress and got the huevos instead. At the checkout I'm assuming the owner and or cook made me pay for both because I had eaten part of the dish WOW -Bad Business decision 😱We were all confused by the dish and how awful it was and their decision

Ordered a sandwich for lunch and when I started to eat it I noticed a strand of hair at least a foot long in my food. The waitress took it back and they remade my order. When I went to pay I was charged full price for my meal. I figured it would be comped if not at least a discount on my order but no. It was very disappointing they did this as I worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 yrs. and know that at least a discount was warranted. I will not go there anymore and I hope this doesn’t happen to another patron that eats there.

This is the LEAST friendly place I have EVER been. Upon entering, we sat down at a table only to sit there for 10 minutes with waitresses staring at us, never coming to our table and others walking in, sitting down and ordering. Went to the bathroom and there were roaches! No thank you. Definitely not eating here.

The coffee, hash browns and biscuits were served old and barely warmed. Waitress offered to replace them thus the second biscuits were edible but the grits plopped atop melted butter were not! The unscrambled eggs fried flat in butter were dripping with grease folded as if an omelette. Expected better, yet always tip. waitress. BeBest

Came back for a meal for the first time in about 2 years. Sat in the dinning room for 10 minutes without ever seeing a waitstaff or employee. Sounded like they were having fun in the back. Two other men sat at another table with empty drinks and no food. Unfortunate. Used to love this place. Left and had a great meal up the road at the Mexican restaurant.

There was one lady just laughing with a customer the entire time and then walked outside to hang posters. Needless to say we just walked out. Need better staff.
