Avis sur Erick's Mexican Restaurant Hempstead
I've been frequenting Erick's for over 10 years now at this point and I've never had an experience where they fell short. Great and attentive wait staff, food is fresh and since they've renovated the inside of the restaurant is very nice. All of their regular staples are good - you can't go wrong with some tacos, quesadilla, enchiladas or fajitas.
We were looking for a good Mexican food restaurant on our way back home from the coast, and this place nailed it. Very authentic and yummy. The prices were great and the food was great!
We went to have dinner few weeks ago. I will say we weren’t disappointed at all. I ordered Pollo Jalisco and it was an excellent choice (kinda spicy for me), my husband ordered Carne Guisada he really liked it. Our kids really loved the refried beans. The service was great!
I've never had a deep-fried, stuffed avocado before. I didn't even know that was a thing. Wow! It was so yummy! Service was great, and food came fast. Everything we ordered was great! We will definitely be back. UPDATE: We have been back at least a dozen times since and have brought guests, as well. Review stands. Food is fantastic and comes out so quickly! Staff is super friendly. We are now "regulars". Love this place!
Excellent Food! Excellent Service! Very Friendly and Courteous Staff! Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. My favorite is the Tamale plate! The tamales are so large, I can only eat half of one during my meal. Beans, Rice, Chips and Salsa are fresh and plentiful. Their plates are hearty and healthy. Trust me... this is the BEST and most AUTHENTIC establishment in the area!
The food was very fresh but was lacking in flavor
The waiter was pleasant but made a mistake with the order. I told him not to worry about it. I ordered chicken but received beef. The beef fajita meat was tough. On the other hand, my husband's chicken eas e cellent.
The food looked good but was cold. Queso was from a can. Food very bland. Little knat flies everywhere
I always pass this place and I’ve wanted to try them. I tried them and let’s just say I was highly disappointed. I got the fajitas for two. Now the beef was decent, but the chicken was dry. The charro beans were also good. The fajitas didn’t come with shredded cheese or sour cream and when I asked for it, I was told it was extra. I was highly disappointed and won’t be eating here again.
Unfortunately, the only nice thing I can say about this place is that the staff is very friendly and attentive. However they clearly have some cleanliness problems and I was extremely disatisfied with the food. The very first thing I noticed when we walked in was the smell. There is a very strong dirty urinal sort of smell throughout the entire restaurant and it definitely made me lose my appetite a bit. When we sat down of course the booth seat was sticky, so I sat on my flannel. Then when I opened the menu, the inside was wet and had pieces of onion stuck to the plastic. They brought us chips and salsa and the chips were good and I could tell they were homemade, however the salsa was obviously canned and tasted very bland and watered down. I ordered the Pollo Asado plate and was not happy. The chicken was terribly dry and bland, the charro beans were undercooked and flavorless, and my rice was burnt to black from being served onto an insanely hot cast iron plate. The meal cost me around $25 with tip and for that price I'd much rather go to Rey Regio across the street.
The staff seemed very nice however as soon as we walked in the smell of a septic tank was overwhelming. We opened a menu and a cockroach came running out
The minute we opened the menu a roach came out. We decided to leave and go somewhere else to eat.
The margarita and green sauce were the only things worth going for. Went on a Sunday evening around 5:30. Ordered the mixed fajitas and received what tasted like day old meat, cold tortillas and beans that also appeared to be old and not hot. The queso came out with our meal and again, was not hot. Tasted like velveta cheese. The margarita was a decent price and was good. Overall, I was discussed that I spent $60 on something that tasted like it took all of $6 to make.
Rice was crunchy, taco shells were harder than the floor, and the service was awful. Also, the restaurant smelled like a bathroom. There is very pungent odor in the whole place.
