I would put Tommy’s BBQ company up against any of the more popular BBQ spots across the Bay (Horns, Fiksque, Slow Hands, etc.). And if I’m going to be completely honest, I actually think this place is better. Tucked away in the small city of Hercules, I didn’t have to wait 1.5 hours and break the bank to get my bbq fix. The brisket was good but the star of the show was the ribs. They had a great dry rub and were cooked to perfection. Don’t let anyone tell you a “fall off the bone” rib is anything but an over-cooked atrocity. Tommy’s ribs had the juicy bounce, bite, and gentle tug that bbq enthusiast look for. Skip the line at the other places, come to Tommy’s

Ribs are fall off the bone and tender, and still have a nice smokiness to them. Brisket and jalapeño sausage are good and tastey. The loaded nachos with brisket was a nice surprise! I wasn’t sure what to expect and they are BOMB Can’t wait to try the pulled pork!

This was an incredible visit. I got the chicken the brisket pulled pork mac and cheese and potato salad. My least favorite thing is probably between salad. I prefer more of a mustard style. It's not to say it was bad just not up my alley as much. The brisket here was fantastic. Incredible flavor and moist and tender. The chicken had a little bit of a dry outside skin which is expected but the inside was so moist so delicious. The mac and cheese had good flavor and the cheese stayed melted without getting all coagulated. I wish they had a couple more sauce options. Especially a mustard-based sauce. And the pulled pork also was tender with lots of delicious smokey flavor. Little bit high in the price side but the quality was fantastic and I would definitely come back here. Excellent job all around guys.

Tommy’s BBQ Company – Fantastic Takeout Experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We ordered takeout from Tommy’s BBQ Company at 1611 Sycamore Ave in Hercules, and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was delivered hot, fresh, and packed with care—you can tell these folks cook with love and pride. Let’s start with the sides. The collard greens had a slight zesty kick that was just right—totally satisfying. The coleslaw was equally delicious, with a lightly sweet flavor and the perfect crunchy texture. Both paired wonderfully with the main dishes. Now, the meat… oh man! It was so tender it literally fell apart with ease. Every bite was flavorful, and the BBQ sauce might just be one of the best we’ve ever had. It brought everything together perfectly. The delivery was smooth, and the packaging was thoughtfully done, keeping everything fresh and ready to enjoy. We’re already looking forward to ordering from them again. If you’re craving great BBQ, Tommy’s BBQ Company should definitely be on your list. You won’t regret it! Thanks for the delicious meal and top-notch service!

The family and I went here for our first time recently. We want to see if it was as good as the reviews said. Well it is a very good BBQ spot. Its fair priced for BBQ and we try the Brisket, pork ribs, and chicken. All of them were cook wonderfully and tasted delicious. For side we tried the mac and cheese, cold slaw, potatoe salad, and BBQ bean. They were all good as well. The customer service is very friendly and nice. Plus free refills on the fountain drinks. We will definitely be going back! Thanks Tommy's BBQ!

First time trying this and the turnout was pretty well. An actual bbq restaurant, there meats are soft and tender. Brisket was not dry but fresh. Ribs had the meat falling off the bone, and sausage links had two different types of flavor. I’m a fan of texas toast but to me this texas toast felt like it had too much batter, thick, and bland without the garlic butter. Mac n Cheese is perfect! The service was organized as a crew. Meat order is placed, one person cuts the meat, the other prepares the meal, and lastly person at cashier handles the orders being taken and hands food to the customer. Quite busy on a Saturday night, although prices are a bit high but the quality of meat matters.

Found Tommy's on Google, we drove 1 hour to eat here. Reviews were great, pictures looked awesome. Location was very cool, right in the waterfront. They share the inside with another food establishment and a bar. Very open and very friendly. Food was ordered and it came within 5min. 1st food impression, looks and smelled delicious. We got the 3meat combo (2 brisket and ribs with mac and cheese and potato salad)and added the sweet corn and a Key Lime piece slice and banana something cake slice. Brisket was awesome, it had great color and great flavor, ribs were well done, rub was sweet and spicy and the sauce added another layer of flavor. Tommy the owner is a passionate pit master, he took a few minutes to talk to a bbq geek. Thank you for those few minutes, I appreciate that. Tommy's BBQ should be a place for you, try it all, the loaded potato is a must, loaded is the a perfect description.

By far the best Brisket and Ribs I’ve had in the Bay Area!!! The brisket was absolutely insane. Super tender and delicious smoky flavor. Real Texas Style BBQ in the Bay Area! I tried the Banana Pudding Cheesecake and Peach Cobbler Cheesecake as well. Everything was 10/10! Blows Kinders out of the water!!!

Barbecue is excellent. Really good sauce. Mac and cheese needs a little help, dry and tasteless. Other sides are great! New Year's Day was the first time I was really disappointed. I ordered the one way and had it delivered. Got two Full bones and two small ends and very little sauce that barely covered the meat! That's very unusual. The ribs at the bottom of the plate had no sauce at all. I actually had to add some of my store-bought sauce. This is the first time I was very disappointed. I am a loyal customer and have recommended Tommy's to everyone I know. Great customer service and generous portions. Hopefully this was just a mistake.....

Love the food and atmosphere! The meat was falling off the bone tender and had such a great flavor! The BBQ sauce was spicy hot and delicious! Finger licking good! I also enjoyed the greens and beans I got with my order. I am definitely going back when I am in the mood for BBQ! The staff is friendly and they were very helpful. If you like sports, they have a big screen TV with the game on. I was enjoying the food so much that I couldn't tell you who was playing the day I went! LoL! Check them out!!!

I saw the owner and I asked her if I could get some food. I know you guys are closed. She was sweet enough to let me in. Got me my pulled pork sandwich and oh my God it did not disappoint. It was so delicious and the sauce that came with it was icing on the cake strongly recommend going here for barbecue. I haven’t had barbecue like that in a long time.

This place is really good iv enjoyed everything I have tired. My one piece of advice for them would be to open a-little sooner. I’d go there more often but the 12pm open time cuts off a lot of people who’s day starts early. I travel around for work happened to be in the parking lot and saw 4 guys walk away because they are not open yet. Just a suggestion food is really good definitely try it out just be aware if you’re in the trades or have an early start time they will most likely be closed for your lunch time.

Went back to get BBQ since I was in the area. Disappointed they don't have the brisket tacos.. that needs to come back. We tried the smash burger and a 2-way. Food was ok but super disappointing to find my potato salad literally drenched in BBQ sauce. I tried to eat it anywat but it didn't work it was just all messed up. I don't know why there was bbq sauce since they gave us a tub on the side. Epic fail today to detail and attention. I guess for future ask potato salad on the side. It's our first time here.   We found this place on tiktok.  The place has a pretty chill vibe.   For a Saturday morning/ afternoon when the opened it wasn't a crazy long line. They have a lot of items that I didn't see online.   One was the beef rib which they only have Friday and Saturday.  The other one was desserts like key lime pie and banana pudding cheesecake. DJ was the person who took my order and helped me.   He was super nice and gave me some recommendations.   Service was fast and easy.   While I waited for my order you can see someone cutting the meats for each order.  I thought it was pretty cool to see.   My order was ready within 5-10 minutes.  It was well packed and handed with care. We ordered: 1.  Brisket tacos - $9 taco was kind of pricy but it's worth a try.   It was a pretty big size and a nice starter to the meal.   We ate this prior to the ride back home.   The crunch from the cilantro lime slaw, picked onions, and brisket was perfect.   I think it would have been even better if they chopped up the brisket instead of one whole slice.  You kind of just end up with a salad on top.  I recommend trying it and I will definitely have this again when I come back. 2.  1lb brisket- They didn't ask what cut I wanted, if it was lean or fatty.  This was deliciously fall apart tender. 3.  Beef rib plate w/ mac n cheese & corn -  I love the juicy dino rib.  Mac and cheese was perfect.  I liked that the corn was buttery and garlicky. 4.  Chicken plate w/ mac n cheese & potato salad - Chicken was nice and juicy.   Potato salad wasn't bad.   I liked that it was simple and has nice sized chunks of potatoes. 5.  Key lime pie - Filling was good, the tartness was on point.  The crust was just off.   It didn't compliment the key lime filling.  It wasn't a crumbly graham cracker crust.  I don't know how to explain it. 6.  Banana pudding cheesecake - I was excited to try this but sadly I we disappointed.  It tasted like banana pudding but I couldn't taste the cheesecake.  It tasted more like a hard whipped cream on a cake or something.   The crust was delicious. I definitely recommend the meats and sides.  No complaints on my end.  I leave it up to you to try the desserts.   Let me know how you like it.  I'll be back soon.

Tried Tommy's for the first time tonight. The only reason I gave them a 2 was because the brisket I had on my stuffed potato was very good. Sadly, instead of the fire roasted Jalapeño on top of the potato as shown on the website, someone poured 1/2 cup of sliced pickled Jalapeños with their juices all over the top of the brisket. That's a sin. The juices permeated the entire dish. I also tried the collards which did not impress. Cut in shreds, under cooked with dry un-smoked pork (as opposed to a smoked hock). I tossed most of it. The wife had a pulled pork sandwich. Pulled pork without any sauce. Dry as a bone. I had to break out the Bulls Eye so she could sauce it up. (No sauce in the bag either) Thank God I had them put the cole slaw on the side. I have traveled the south and been in California for 71 years. Never have I seen Kale (maybe) in the slaw. Big chunks of a bitter green. Again, most of this went in the trash. A very expensive disappointment.

Requested little fat as possible on my brisket loaded potato and got almost a half cup or more of fat on an order I paid almost $30 for. When I asked if they were able to honor my request at pick up one of the workers tried to act like he didn’t know what I was asking then he sarcastically said yes we cut the fat off and the cashiers began to laugh which let me know they purposely put more fat than usual. The picture was just part of the fat I took off I only ate part of the order it was so disgusting 🤮

Ordered the chicken bbq dinner and when I got home, I had to recook the chicken because it was actually raw. Blood all the way to bone. Called Tommy and he was supposed to send me a refund check. That was 2 weeks ago and I have not received the check yet. Now can’t get an answer when I call. Like I told Tommy the one time I talked with him that my having to finish cooking food that I got from a restaurant defeated the purpose of eating out!!! So whatever you do, don’t order the chicken!!!!
