We have been exploring Italian restaurants in the flower mound area for several years, and this was the first time coming here, and what a pleasant surprise! Food, service and atmosphere rated the best. I would recommend Salerno’s to anyone who desires good food, service and atmosphere, and rates the best of the best in the area.

This is the best italian food in Flower Mound and Highland Village, hands down. Aaron the owner cares about his customers and it shows. Their Family Style Feasts are the perfect way to keep things simple on a weeknight, for a party, or for any of the holidays. What a deal!

This place was great! We all loved our food, and the service! We got happy hour old fashions that were amazing. Gary was friendly and welcoming! We will be back for sure. plus they had a kitty cat donation/adoption card station set up at a little table for christmas, and that goes right to my heart, so you just know these people are good at heart! Amazing service and food. So many excellent choices to choose from, I had to sample the sauces and figured that would make the choice even easier. I was wrong. The food is amazing. Your taste buds will think they have been transported to Souther Italy. Everything fresh and delicious and I was surprised by the bill. The quality and taste is fitting of food that should easily be more expensive but they are way beyond reasonable and fair. Get the vodka sauce it's out if this world!

Husband took me to Salerno's Restaurant and Bar for dinner tonight. It's a very nice venue in a quiet neighborhood. No loud music. No TVs on every wall. Reminded us of how restaurants (and date night) used to be! The staff was attentive and cheerful, and the food was amazing. We opted to get an appetizer and split an entre, and they split it for us so everything was presented beautifully. I definitely recommend this hidden gem.

Wife and I have known about this place for a while now but hadn't made the trek up to Highland Village to try it out yet. However, we received a coupon so we figured it was a great opportunity to try it out. We hit the place up during happy hour on a Thursday and were seated right away. The menu is straightforward, offering a variety of pretty standard Italian options. I was thrilled to see Pasta Bolognese as one of the choices, as it's always been one of my favorites. I was not disappointed! The balance of flavors, as well as the texture, were both absolutely spot on. Complementary garlic bread was plenty tasty. And the happy hour drink choices were great. My wife got the lasagna and it was not only outstanding, but somewhat unique in its preparation and presentation. The basic marinara it was served with was also quite well done, with a depth of flavor and not too sweet. The wife also ordered the sangria to drink and reported that it was delicious. We are always easily tempted by dessert, and this is no exception. Having seen a picture of it online, we couldn't resist trying the bread pudding. Be warned, it is very fresh and made to order, so it takes a hot second for it to arrive, but good googly moogly is it ever worth it! Warm, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Easily in my top 5 bread puddings, and that's often our go-to choice, so that's saying something. Do yourself a favor and save room for dessert. The prices were almost too good to be true, especially for the portions. Happy Hour (4-6 pm) drinks were in the $5 range -- wine, well drinks, and a couple of their specialty drinks. Shout out to our server CJ who took excellent care of us (including a helpful nudge on that last item!). We had a great experience at Salerno and we will definitely be back soon.

The half Salerno steak was delicious. Cooked just I like my meat; it came with whole garlic cloves which was cooked to perfection and not overpowering. I also had the lobster bisque…I should have ordered a bowl…delicious!

Can’t say enough about Salernos, the owners/staff, and food. We had my Mom and Dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary here back in December and used their party room. Had quite a few people too. Everything was phenomenal !! If you have a Birthday, Anniversary, Shower, Graduation, or any kind celebration Salernos is the place! Their prices are reasonable & the portions are large. If you haven’t been for lunch or dinner… come try them out. I promise you will be regular customers! Thank you again Salernos for all your hard work that night and especially for the wonderful and again exceptional service and food!! P.S. Thanks too for allowing me to decorate for their party:)

Was thrilled to get back to Salerno's for the first time since the late 90's. Food was absolutely delicious and exactly how I remember. The new owner was fantastic and has great new recipes as well. Can't wait to get back.

I used to frequent Salerno’s at the previous location when I lived in the area in the late 90s and always have enjoyed their food. My favorite dish is the Chicken Lilian. After so many years, whenever I’m in the area, I always try to come back. Tonight was very delightful and the Chicken Lilian was just like I remembered it. My wife enjoyed the Tuscany with blackened shrimp and tonight’s special was selected $20 bottles of wine, and we opted for the Hahn Merlot 2020. Dessert was good pictured below, tiramisu and cake of the cow.

I absolutely LOVE the food here! Unique twist on some of the dishes. My favorite is the Shrimp Alfredo. Their house salad is amazing. My husband loves the Pecan crusted chicken with an orange basil sauce. You will not leave hungry! The tiramisu is more of a cake and not traditional style but it works and the flavor is great! I do wish it was a little more cozy and more intimate feeling as its a huge space with concrete floors but that is definitely not going to stop me from giving them my business.

We went for a birthday within my family. The food and wine were good quality, nothing great but not poor either. What really set this apart was the service. The waiting staff was stellar and very kind. I also learned a lot of new facts about wine as well!

We went for my Aunt and Uncle's wedding anniversary. The venue room was great and the waitstaff were amazing, very attentive and friendly. The food was mediocre at best with the limited menu we had to order from. However, the appetizers were delicious - I would had rather eaten those than the main course! I ordered the shrimp scampi and was not impressed with any of it, which was disappointing considering the appetizers had been so good. I would go back in a group setting to give it another shot, but would likely not go back on my own accord.

So I'd like to give a review as I ate here today for the third time. I really enjoy this restaurant there food never disappoints. Today I got their caprese salad, antipasto salad and grilled asparagus. The food was excellent! The caprese salad is always great and fresh and the antipasto salad was also very very good. The vinaigrette makes this meal really pop! I also really enjoyed the grilled asparagus! My only downside of the meal was that the asparagus was so large that the thicker parts were to thick to chew so I had to kind of cut it open and scrap the inside out to eat those ends. It was perfectly soft though so not a huge issue. The staff was very friendly and attentive ill deffinitly be back.

Beware To Go orders. Update* I have ordered to go 3 times now, during quarantine and once before covid. I hate to say that the food to go tastes nothing like what they serve when you dine in. It tastes like it premade and just thrown in the oven and preheated. Reason I say this is because the aluminum container they serve it in is overly hot and the sauce off the pasta pools on the bottom of the container unlike if they were made in a pan and bonds with the pasta. Pizza wasn't good either, the dough was hard and tasted like cardboard. I do not recommend ordering to go for lower quality food for the same price. I can not recommend to order out but dine in experience and food remain top notch. We came during lunch hour. Hands down some do the best Italian food I’ve had. The portions match the prices. My mom had the salmon and she loved it. I had the Alfredo and it was amazing, really rich in cheesy flavor. The service was great, the server was attentive but not intrusive.

I really looked forward to a meal at Salerno's. The steak appetizer is incredible. But when I got the lobster bisque, I expected something comparable to Bisteca (sister restaurant across the street), but instead received a gelatin looking paste that must have come out of a can. It tasted terrible and I sent it back without another bite. I expected that it would be taken off the ticket, but it was not. Even the waiter said that people have said it was not as good as their sister restaurant. Overall, the staff is great, but the food is sub-standard. And after spending over $100 with tip, I would hope that it would have been better. Perhaps the owners have given up on this restaurant and continue to enjoy the success of their sister restaurant.

My husband and I decided to try this place as we had never been. Let's just say, when the service and atmosphere are the best parts of the meal, you know you made a wrong decision. We got the side salad which was drowning in dressing (have a little salad with your dressing!)...I sent mine back for dressing on the side. The server got my husband's order wrong, he ordered the Venicia but received the Florencia. He said it was good, but not what he wanted. I got the Lillian, again, drowning in sauce (think of soup with some linguine in it) and, the description doesn't say it, but the chicken was coated with flour before it was cooked. I didn't eat the linguine because SO. MUCH. SAUCE! I scraped off the coating on the chicken, but it was bland and overcooked. The bread was dry and flavorless. We got cake of the cow...it was ok...good thing there was pudding and lots of whipped cream because the cake was super dry. SERVICE was impeccable and friendly! Atmosphere was casual and friendly. Those things are important, but when you pay close to $100 for a meal, the food is just as important. Overall, we were disappointed and will not go back.

So everything was decent. The restaurant had a great vibe for a Thursday night and was buzzing. We had crab claws for our first course and they were overcooked. I had the sampler plater with lasagna spaghetti and meatball and gnocchi. The lasagna and gnocchi were great. Meatball was a bit hard on the outside and overcooked. My wife has lasagna and loved it. The bread was amazingly good and the sauce was tasty. Weird service but over all ok. Will try it again.

I have been eating here off and on for years. The last two visits have missed the mark.the food dish I ordered which was the same both times was “off”. I ordered the chicken Palermo Friday night with zoodles. The sauce was too tangy. I have ordered this numerous times over the years and it was a smooth and balanced taste. Today, I ordered the same dish but with angel hair pasta. They were stingy w the sauce and chicken but the worst part is the garlic was bad. If you have ever eaten a dish with bad garlic you know it’s hard to finish. I decided I would pick up the phone and call the restaurant I reported this to someone that told me “he would tell the kitchen”. He didn’t it offer to credit me for next time or ask if there was anything’ they could do to make up for it. Extremely disappointing. I don’t think I will go back. Good restaurant establishments offer to make things right. No, I didn’t ask them to make things right, but I thought they would offer to do so. Nope. 20.00 with tip thrown don the drain. The food had to be tossed out.

I woke up in the middle of the night being very sick after eating at Salerno. The food is not good. Not the freshest and the purest. Heavy sauces, too much salt to cover up the poor ingredients. I had a salad - it was not good at all and shrimp scampi. Now, at 3am, suffering from stomach pain and nausea. Very bad experience

Ordered 2 Family meals at $70 each, for a bday party that was supposed to feed 8ppl. What I got was two tins of the what might be the worst spaghetti, I have ever eaten in my life. My guests could barely it eat it. So disappointed.
