What a great place a great atmosphere everyone goes above and beyond to be kind and super friendly and they put the same effort in the food aswell yes even the food is wonderful. I would recommend for anyone to stop in and eat your fill.

Food was amazing, could do without the ladies smoking by the bathrooms. Just passing through so maybe that's normal but didn't expect it. Would go back for the food and service.

Good, friendly service, and far better prices than chain locations or Walmart. Was in and out in under 15 minutes, a sight better than the hour or more anywhere else I've been since moving to East Texas.

BLT and fries...chef salad...scrambled eggs and pancake ordered. Grandson told the waitress that he usually gets chocolate chip pancakes but theirs was delicious!

The waitress was very friendly and served the table very well. I had the meatloaf with sweet potato fries and a side salad. The whole meal was absolutely mouth-watering good!!!!! My husband had the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy, and fried pickles. He said that was so delicious!! Our daughter ate the burger and fries. And man was that patty Thick and Juicy!!! She loved it!!!!

The kind of diners I enjoyed growing up. Great food. I mean great. Real food. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger. My pancakes were cloud soft and delicious.

Fantastic food and service. Make their own pies. Chicken fried steak as big as my plate. Meatloaf was great with black eyed peas and turnip greens.

I was recommended the chicken fried steak by a friend and did not disappoint. Breading was excellent and the meat was melt in your mouth tender. Onion rings were also very crispy and tasty.

We usually eat breakfast here. It's always so good. Just last night we tried them for dinner, my husband got the club sandwich, it was AMAZING, Yes, I stole a bite. I got the chicken fried chicken, it was Huge and amazing as well. The home made ranch is also YUMMMM

Good food, good folks, nice setting. Late supper - they were almost closed on a rainy weekday evening. Waitress was pleasant, accommodating, and helpful with suggestions and explanations of the setup. All three of us at dinner remarked on how good the food was and how much there was of it - all took dogie bags home. Would recommend!

Was in Hooks for a funeral yesterday and I had been wanting to try Downtowner for a while. I am through there a lot and had just never been able to make it. So my brother, my cousins and I popped in. I had a cheeseburger, really really really good, french fries, again good but dang, my cousin had those sweet potato fries, they were out of the ballpark good. She uses fresh sweet potatoes and tops them with just a dusting of powdered sugar. I think they are hands down the best I have ever had anywhere. Then, I noticed a customer having mac n cheese, so I added an order of that to my order. Now, my mother made the best mac n cheese I have ever eaten and my opinion remained so till yesterday. Oh my goodness, good stuff. If you are ever through there, stop in. I had a hard time choosing between the burger, the chicken fried steak which has a reputation of being mighty fine, or the chicken spaghetti. You guys know this means I have to go back again and again. If you are looking for a good, satisfying meal, you will not be disappointed.

Food was delicious and definitely homemade! Very clean. Though, the bathrooms smelled of cigarettes and seemed as if it were someone’s personal bathroom. A little odd…

Small little joint in a small town. it's a quaint restaurant to visit and I would recommend it. The menu items are pretty inexpensive and the staff is friendly. I ordered omelets both times that I went and the food was great. They did give me a military discount.

Ate lunch here a dozen times while on a local job. The type of small town diner you hope for with good food, generous portion, reasonable prices. Always a special. Pie selection. Be prepared to take some home.

Not a bad place. Takes a while to get your food but not heinously long. Friendly staff and the owner is a nice lady. Recommend.

I always want to be able to give a five star review to a small town diner. Unfortunately, this one missed the mark in a couple of areas. I will start with the fact that my husband's burger and fries were tasty. I ordered a western omelette, but was actually served a sausage and cheese omelette. I know the waitress took note of the proper. I order because she asked if I wanted bell pepper or jalapeno, which were the choices for the western omelet. I did not send it back as it was tasty although they browned the eggs. I was able to take off the crust around the edge. The home fries tasted as though they had been prepared in old oil or had sat, and then we're reheated. The coffee I ordered tasted fresh but wasn't anything to write home about. It was just coffee. The restaurant it was clean as were the restrooms. From time to time, I could smell that somebody was smoking. I am very sensitive to smoking, so it bothered my sinuses and throat. We could not actually see anybody smoking.As there were only a few people in the restaurant, but when I went to the restroom, it turned out it was one of the employees working at a table just outside the rest room. Unfortunately, I had to give the stars a downgrade on this one, as there were just too many fails. Brown eggs, wrong ingredients in the omelette, strange tasting, home fries and the smell of the smoke. Hopefully, they can take this criticism and fix these problems.

Water tasted like dirt, scrambled eggs were runny, hash browns tasted like dirt too, like the potatoes weren’t washed before shredded, the bacon tasted like chemicals. The bill wasn’t adjusted to the food being sent back. Very disappointed in the total cost of the bill and the quality of the food.

For a non smoker, that's quite the odor to withstand for a half hour meal. Also not ideal for our infant. Nice enough people, good enough food. But when I walked outside after my meal it felt like breathing for the first time! So refreshing! Won't be back. I understand there's no regulation to prevent them, but I won't put my family through that again!

Why would someone do something soo hateful to someone they don't know? You have opened a restaurant to the PUBLIC for profit. If this wasn't the case you could have told me that I wasn't welcome there and I would have taken my money and left. Instead you over-charged me on top of trying to serve me that disgusting childish hateful nasty mess I couldn't eat. Keep my money and consider your conscience and where your heart is at.
