Avis sur The Sussex Oak at Warnham Horsham
Really lovely traditional village pub. Warm and cosy inside, with plenty of outdoor seating. A really warm welcome and dog friendly. A decent selection of cask ales, and my Timothy Taylor Landlord was well kept. Only came for drinks on this occasion but the food looked good. Would definitely return.
This place is brilliant. The service was very attentive, food great, and atmosphere buzzing. Also, the Guinness was exemplary with clearly well cared for lines. The fires were roaring and we were very comfortable on a freezing cold miserable day. The desert especially was so good with loads of custard!!! Happy wife! Will be back
My wife and I decided to stop and have some lunch. It was totally unplanned. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Food was great. 100% will recommend.
Lovely pub with great service, staff can be quite chatty. Food is not to expensive with good menu choice. Has live music every now and then, may need to ask when that is.
Great Pub! Warm welcome, friendly staff and locals. Well kept, well run, good selection of traditional and popular beers. Nicely presented tasty food. The staff could not do enough for us travelling newcomers, and even made sure our dog was comfortable and had a treat! Highly recommended.
Each time we visit Horsham we seem to "land" here with our friend. Great food, my ploughman's was amazing.....& I didn't share one bit 😂The others had your lovely ham, egg n chips meal. Great variety of summer ciders & the O% Lily, mixed berries was a good flavour too. Not so keen on the mango, too sweet for me, cloudy rhubarb looked interesting, but I enjoyed Lily's strawberry! Oh to our lady server, drop us a line we're back in Allier Auvergne now 😊
We visited yesterday and I forgot to mention that my son was coeliac. However I was very pleasantly surprised by the choice on the menu and the understanding of cross contamination was great. Chips were GF. Lots of dishes on the menu were GF and they had GF burger buns and bread plus GF Yorkshire puddings with the roasts. Food was delicious. Generous portions and very tasty. So nice to see GF catered for. Would recommend.
Just had the boxing meal meal with family and our two young grandaughters. We were immediately offered two highchairs and overhearing that they loved yorkshire pudding they bought out two extra ones for the girls. The food was delicious but as the children were getting restless and tired after the main course the staff accommodated us by packing up the desserts and cheese platter for us to take home. Thank you so much for your kindness and excellant customer service.
The Sussex Oak is a lovely pub in a great easy to get to location. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and served promptly. They love dogs which was great because ours loves to meet people.
Large party of us today for a meal and we were not disappointed, it was absolutely fantastic from starter to dessert! The roast dinners are very well portioned and very tasty! The service was excellent, very attentive. Everybody had a fantastic time. Absolute gem of a place, will definitely return again!
We had our pre-Christmas lunch today 19/5/25. Absolutely delicious! Service was great. Warm and cosy- not rushed at all. Will definitely be back!!
Lovely lunch here last week. Great service. Really good value for money. Staff friendly and helpful
Fabulous and so dog Friendly. Good traditional Pub Food Menu - reasonably priced. Lovely garden! We booked a table by the fireplace
Found this place by accident but what a little gem! Food was lovely and service was great. Plenty of seating inside and out too. Good size car park although it wasn't too busy when we went. Would definitely recommend 👍
We had a delicious roast here a few Sundays ago and it was soo good! The team were very friendly and accommodating and the food was very tasty, I hope to return for another meal in the future and maybe a few drinks in their beautiful beer garden. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
Nice Food served at this Pub. Nice staff working there.
It's a good pub they do a lovely coffee perfect to sit by the fire
i really like this place. the food is very good and fresh, the waiters are very kind and helpful, and the environment is very british pub like and is overall one of the best pubs i’ve been to.
Very friendly nice atmosphere Beer and food very good
Great small pub in a village. Ample parking for the pub. Went as a large party and very accommodating, booked in advance and pre-ordered food at their request to ease the stress on the kitchen. This worked well, and we had a tab for food and drink. They were happy to look after cake and provided small plates and a knife for when we needed it and so friendly. Food portions were very generous and good quality. Thoroughly recommend here.
Fantastic experience. Easy to make a booking with excellent communication throughout. We had a group booking of 11 people for lunch, and having only a short time period for lunch they accommodated perfectly by taking preorders. Food was served quickly and was very good. Overall brilliant experience, highly recommend!
Loved our visit tonight. Had just a chippies (best chips in Sussex!) And few pints. Reasonable prices, great service, will be back for proper meal next. Thank you 😊
A charming, lovely, old village pub with a large garden. Very friendly welcome and service throughout. Very generous portions of freshly cooked and tasty traditional pub food. Thank you to the team at The Sussex Oak for a very pleasant lunch.
Eaten here a few times and always a great meal out. I'm sure I'll return to try more of the menu. Nice big car park and a garden. Everything a proper pub should have, the Sussex oak has!
Visited this pub whilst in the area and what a lovely welcome and atmosphere as you enter, and a beautiful log fire keeping it warm. Great hospitality, food was delicious and good value for money, impressed with the gluten free options as can struggle with that in a lot of places. Matt was very kind to nervous first time pub dog too with treats and fusses. Also great parking availability.
Peter the manager was pleased to host 20 humans, 12 dogs and a fair bit of mud after a long walk. We had preordered food a week before and it was ready exactly on time. The staff are very naturally good natured and were pleased to bring us drinks. Peter reserved a favoured local area of the pub and provided us with a big telly to watch the rugby and also helped with serving a birthday cake. We had a brilliant time and that was down to excellent hosting at The Sussex Oak.
Great experience the food was excellent and although we had a party of 12 people the food was served at the same time and pipping hot
Highly recommended! Lovely atmosphere, food was amazing with decent sized portions, good value and the staff are lovely all in a proper country pub. What more could you want! We'll be going back soon 😊
After a long walk from Hornbrook to Warnham I decided to go for a pint and some lunch at the Sussex Oak. Beautiful day and lovely pub garden to enjoy the calm environment. Seemed like cyclists and families enjoy too as it got busier. I had a prawn baguette. So fresh and the salad and coleslaw plentiful. Friendly service too from the young lady and the landlord. Have told the family we must go together having spotted they have a ploughmans on the menu!!! 😋😃
Nice spot for a quick lunch. Service was friendly. We weren't there long enough or with enough people to see how they handle a large group but certainly pleasant pub, good food and good selection of beers. Decent prices. Would revisit.
I like the food in here but the portion size of the Sunday Roast is small compared to other meals, it’s very tasty but small. It would also be better to have real cream on the deserts rather than squirty cream which goes down to nothing.
Nice little pub, good honest pub food, great selection of drinks. Well worth a visit if your passing through Warnham.
A well run pub with good food and drinks served. Today we were celebrating my mate Farley's 7th birthday.
It was a very busy Thursday, probably due to the offer but we never got to order our desserts as nobody came to take our order so we left without. Very friendly and food good
A lovely oldy worldy pub with a big garden and a good selection of quality ales. Beer prices are average for the area. There is plenty of room inside and out and it's normally easy to get parked. It can be a bit dead away from peak times. Within walking distance of Horsham, but if you drive there there are good walks from the footpath right beside the pub. I haven't eaten there for a while so haven't commented on that.
Really nice looking pub. Didn’t spend much time indoors but the outdoors was a nice area for the children to play as they have a big field to run around on. One thing that was concerning was it was £4.40 for a pint of coca-cola. - is that the usual rate for a non-alcoholic drink?
Lovely outside garden area. Planty of free parking Food is not convenient as the board suggests but freshly cooked. Standard selection of beers but supermarkets wines.
A group of us went here on a Friday evening for the 2 course Christmas dinner. The food was very nice, however the atmosphere was very disappointing. It was not Christmasy at all. There was a very cheap cracker on everyone's place mat and that was it nothing else, no centre piece, no Christmas serviettes just the normal cheap white ones. I think the landlord of the Sussex Oak needs to go and visit The Hornbrook on the Brighton road, then he would see what a country pub should look like at Christmas 🎄 As I said the food was nice but the atmosphere truly let it down BIG TIME.
45 minute wait for food. Undercooked vegetables, microwaved pie with soggy pastry, meat didn’t look fresh. Lamb rump was tasty though and large portion. No atmosphere and lack decorum. sad looking depressed staff. Bad service. Never come to check on us or even ask us if we wanted desserts or the bill! Not even busy. Prices average to above average Pie £12, lamb £14 but quality was certainly not to standard for the price. Not coming again.
