We love coming here! Food is tasty with big portions and the staff is always so nice and attentive.
Food is super delicious fresh hot staff was so friendly. Great ambience I wish they had Wi-Fi and I could go study there and eat, but I will not 10 out of 10 y’all definitely the best 888 in all of Houston and surrounding areas
Went with my son to get lunch and was not disappointed. Food was hot and delicious. The waitress was very nice and informed us about the menu specials. I have ordered from this place before and was very pleased with the food. Thats why i told my son to go to this pkace for authentuc chinese food. He was very pleased with everything so i will come back again or order online.
So incredibly fresh and delicious. The vegetables were still bright and crisp, not overcooked like so many other places. Egg drop soup was probably the best I've ever had. The restaurant itself eas very clean and spacious. Our sever was knowledgeable and efficient Definitely recommend and will definitely return.
Absolutely one of the BEST Chinese places we've stopped at in Houston! The service was lovely (Thank you Mariana!), the Cheese Puffs are on point, the Pork Fried Rice was phenomenal, and the General Tso Chicken was literally some of the most tender Chicken we have EVER had! Do not pass this place up!
I really enjoyed dining in here , the food was 5 star !! The cherry on top was the service , my server Jessica was really quick and super sweet !! The manger Angie also spoke to us and made sure everything was okay! The restaurant was clean and smelled really good!! I definitely will be coming here more often
I definitely rated this place top notch, I loved everything from the food, the employees were super attentive , the place was clean , with the perfect volume music, but the food was just awesome. I had the Hot and spicy soup, which I definitely didn't know contained mushrooms ,delicious.
Food overall is solid but nothing too exceptional. Good for the area and for the price but not worth going out of your way for. We usually like to get the wonton soup, pork fried rice, cumin beef and crab puffs. Can get better cumin beef at pretty much any traditional chinese place but this place has a decent version.
Food is great but didn't know they up charge each item for ordering online. For example the orange chicken at the restaurant is 12.95 but online the same item is 14.50. So I guess I will order and wait next time. Also it says 0 ordering fee FYI.
Great food but lousy service. First of all if you see ppl coming in a lunchtime with work name tags obviously they're on lunch so u should be mindful of that. The waitress had a dry attitude, took her time taking our order, and bringing our drinks and after over 20mins of waiting for simple lunch menu order we asked her and even told her how the guy in the other booth received his food before us but ordered after us . She then just smacked her lips and walked away. When we complained to Manager, she blaintly lied and told her we took our time ordering . Some ppl just shouldn't be in a customer service if you dont like ppl.
After the rebuild and relocation, the food taste and quality doesn't compare to the old location. They don't even have the special more authentic Chinese dishes! Just another Chinese American style food.
DRASTIC decline in food quality and service since my last visit about 2 years ago. To start on a positive, the appetizer egg rolls and duck sauce were good. The spring rolls tasted like charcoal; the Szechuan chicken/beef/shrimp tasted like it had been frozen and defrosted as it was dry and near-flavorless; the Sesame Chicken was mediocre in flavor but also dry; the Hunan Beef was okay but its veggies were soggy; both the vegetable fried rice and the combination fried rice were near inedible-the texture (maybe was instant?)! The counter staff were unaccommodating- we ordered 'Sweet Tea' and got unsweetened tea. When we mentioned it he offered "a pack of Sweet n Low". I literally think we could've gotten better results at a drive through. This restaurant used to be top tier. I frequented it when I worked in the area and I drove about 31 miles to visit this time. Needless to say, this trip was a waste of time, energy, appetite, and money.
Placed an order for delivery and the ordering section does not have a place for comments. I call the restaurant after I placed the order and asked for scallions on the egg drop soup, extra duck sauce and 2 sets of chop tix. The girl that answered said I’ll take of that for you and we didn’t get any of it. As for the food really disappointed as it was not up to par like it usually is. Don’t think I’d be going back.
"If a customer is paying $35 for their meal, the least you could do is give them decent white rice to go with it." I don't normally leave reviews, and I feel sort of bad leaving this one because I used to LOVE this restaurant (when it was at its old location). I ordered the whole fish in hot bean paste with white rice for delivery. I remember this dish fondly, so I had pretty high hopes. I knew it wouldn't be as spicy as it used to be, nothing here is anymore 😩. . .however, it was really salty (and I love salt). The tail wasn't really cooked, I guess it didn't fit in the pan. I suppose for most people that wouldn't be much of an issue, but I like to eat the tail when it's cooked properly/crunchy and it was kinda strange to see the tail looking so raw. I suppose y'all need a bigger pan. That being said, the part that ruined the meal for me and made it so disappointing was the white rice. I remember this restaurant always having perfect white rice. I don't know what happened, but my rice was WAY overcooked. It was mush. I suspect it was a cheaper kind of rice too, but it was hard to even see how large the grains were since they were disintegrated. If a customer is paying $35 for a dish, the least you could do is give them decent white rice to go with it. I hope this review helps to improve whatever happened yesterday evening in that kitchen. 2 stars, because what I got was no where near worth it for the price and messing up something as basic as steamed white rice (and so badly) seems like a rookie mistake. It was visible that the rice was mush, it should have never even been served to customers. 🤦♀️
I have been going to this place for years even before they were located on wayside. Tonight will be the last time I order from them. I ordered eggrolls and eggrolls o my. When I received my order I took a bit of one eggrolls and the pork tasted funny. So I tried another one and the same problem. My daughter tried one and it was the same all across the board. I called to see if they could replace them because they all tasted bad. Mind you I have eaten these eggrolls cold next day and still loved them. The manager told me she was u able to help me because no one else has reported a problem. It’s simple customer service. If I say I’ve been a loyal customer for years and at this particular time there is a problem and you refuse to believe me and make the situation right. Well you lost a customer for life. Cooking girl serves fresher food anyway! Save your money. The only real time to get fresh food is when they typically have high volume, all of the other time it taste like it has been sitting under a light. Save your money and find a different place to eat.
Just horrible. My son has been throwing up since Friday the 13 of February 2026 since he ate here. He has missed two days of work and is still throwing up as I write this review. Please be careful eating here. This is the only thing he ate on this day. He ordered it and had it delivered for his lunch break. If he is not better by tomorrow we will be going to the emergency room.
Don't get me wrong, i like eating here. My favorite is the chicken with string beans. But the two last times i had ordered they keep giving me the noodles. 😤 i order the steamed rice noodles which is the white thin noodles but instead they keep giving me the steamed soft noodles and i have to keep reporting it to doordash🙄.
Probably wouldn’t come back to this location but honestly it’s really hard to find good Chinese food in Houston. The combination rice seemed over cooked or like they don’t clean the pans properly so it looks super greasy and honestly lacks flavor for having 3 meats. All the meats seemed over cooked and just bland. The beef brocoli also taste bland and lacked flavor for being filled with sauce. Just not great for the price they charge. The only thing I cared for was the eggroll.
Don’t waste your $$$ – the food is disappointing. I ordered from the traditional Chinese menu, expecting it to be better than places like Cooking Girls or Hu’s Cooking since it looked like an “authentic” Chinese restaurant. However, the cumin beef was one of the worst I’ve had anywhere – just a few slices of meat and mostly onions. The twice-cooked pork was also a letdown. The meat look raw and undercooked, with way too much fat. I am taking the foods back to them tmr
Went in today and got the chicken and mixed vegetables. The chicken came out really white and under cooked and smelled horrible. I asked the cashier can she swap it out for something else and the manager told me they don’t do refund. I ask for something else not a refund. The manager got rude with me and said she couldn’t help with anything. All the cashiers and managers catered to the white customers first but I let that slide. The food is bad and the customer service was even worse. So glad I don’t have to spend anymore money them. If you sell bad food stand buy your product. Horrible place.
