One of my favorite sushi places in Houston going on close to 20 years now. Fish quality is excellent and they have some really creative rolls and nice presentations. Portions are ample too. Service is especially good as well. The parking lot is somewhat difficult as there are multiple other businesses, in the strip center, that reserve parking for their respective establishments. Overall I'd absolutely positively recommend Aka.

Lunch specials here are sooooo good!!! I enjoyed the veggie bento and my husband ordered the sushi special. They both came with miso soup and a super fresh side salad. The servers here are very attentive.

Aka Sushi is one of our go-to spots for a chill date night. We tried the Señor Jaime roll this time and wow, it was so fresh and light, definitely a new fave. Also had the baked mussels which were super creamy and cheesy, just the right comfort bite. The vibe is always laid-back and the food hits every time. Always happy to come back here with my hubby.

A fantastically warm and close environment. It can be a bit noisy, but if you're in the mood for an active and fast restaurant this is the place to go. They brought our order out fast and it tasted amazing. The presentation was a feast for the eyes. We enjoyed how nice our server was, she was expedient with refills and with taking down new items to bring us. We didn't catch her name but she had blonde and brown hair and did a great job. We also got several desserts that came quickly after the end of the meal and the sweetness was a great counter after all the sushi we ate. Their menu is expansive with a lot of options to choose from and will definitely be coming back to try something new.

My go-to sushi spot in town! Their staff is always courteous and friendly and the happy hour pricing can’t be beat. They offer traditional happy hour, reverse happy hour from 9-11pm, and the best part is that they have happy hour ALL WEEKEND. I always order the Philly roll and the Tiger Eye! Make sure to give Aka a visit - you will be pleasantly surprised.

We ordered from here on Uber Eats. We're nervous about the quality and flavor but were surprisingly impressed. We ordered their chicken 65, paneer tikka masala, garlic Naan, Veggie samosas and egg fried rice. All were excellent. The chicken was flavorful and tender. The samosas were tasty. The rice had great flavor and was as the paneer. They didn't put as much paneer on the order, there was much more sauce, but it was good. I'd order from there again. Highly recommend.

We ate garlic naan, goat chettinad, chicken biryani, and chicken Tikka masala. The naan and the chettinad were the tastiest dishes I've had in a long time. The owner was very nice. He offered some samosas and chai tea which were also very good. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that everything was served on plastic and styrofoam. I did not feel like Captain Planet eating here.

I have tried their goat fry biryani and naattukodi chicken multiple times, the taste was spot on. I give them a 5 star. I am taking away 1 star for the extra salt in chicken biryani. Unfortunately both times my son tried their chicken biryani it tasted extra salty. Hopefully the chef gets to see this review and make adjustments. Nice location and friendly staff. Nice size portion for the money.

Perfect time to try something new or stick to what you like, such as their sushi rolls (my personal faves). Foods were good. The at most was nice and the staff were welcoming. Only problem was all the staff would line up by the wall “starring” at guess and it felt like we were being watched the whole time. Its nothing wrong would just prefer a bit more privacy is all. Recommended for sure!

Host is very personable. She even came ba k to see how i liked everything. The waiter was very good. Told him I liked really spicey, so he had them add thia chilies in the Sexy Roll. They def met my spice level! I also had them add crab to the house salad and found their ginger dressing delicious! It is chunky, but don't let that scare you. It's very good. High-end sushi place. A little pricey, but they do have happy hours. I added photos of the menu, so I'll come back again to check out HH options. I have to mark this as a top sushi place to visit! Yummy!!

Oh my, I’ve missed this place! They have one of the better sushi happy hour in town. Met up my gf today for happy hour around 4, and surprisingly it wasn’t super busy like it normally is. Thank goodness! I hatt their parking lot, super tiny. Haha so coming early was a good idea. Upon arriving, there wasn’t a host at the door but an employee just on his phone. Yeah.. well when I finally got sat, our server was attentive. And after we ordered, food cane out promptly. Thank goodness because we were starving! Everything was tasty and delish. This was my gf’s first time here and she enjoyed it a lot! Only bad thing was the crab mango hopper. Similar to a crab Rangoon.. she took a bite of it and it didn’t sit well. We asked the server to take it back. She said it tasted like it was freezer burned or what not. She had a tummy ache after we left. Lucky for me, I don’t like cream cheese so I had passed on it! So side note, order everything else besides that! A must is always the firecracker shrimp & baked mussels! Those are my favorites. And an off menu item that I always order are the buttered scallops! Nice and meaty, not fishy at all. Really buttery and the fried scallions just enhances the flavor really well. Must try! Their happy hour has quite a variety of sushi & appetizers, so come hungry!!

I ordered the special goat biryani. It was ok, but the price is much more than what I saw online. I was surprised that they gave me so much meat😋 However, something about the flavor was a little off. I had not had this dish in a couple of years, but know what I like. I added a little MSG and tomato sauce to the leftovers, and it was delicious 🤤

First timer. Went during happy hour. Food was fair-to-good. Calamari tempura was the most disappointing, tasted 90% tempura flakes and less calamari. Service was excellent. Rolls came out surprisingly quick, made me think they were pre-made, which is fine. Ordered Houston, Yellowtail spicy and Spider-rolls. Ramen and yakatori beef was good. Overall, I think there are better "happy hour" options around town.

I recently ordered a Chicken Fry Biryani from this place, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. After driving 25 minutes, based on some positive reviews, I was expecting a flavorful and satisfying meal. However, I received the wrong order, and the biryani was overly salty. It was nothing like what I had paid for, and the taste was far from what I had hoped for. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and I won’t be returning.

We had a bad dine-in experience, we ordered Goat dum biryani and after waiting for 45 minutes they told they gave all biryani to online orders and served goat curry mixed rice as biryani(very smart ppl). We ordered methi CHICKEN as to-go but they gave methi PANNEER. We realized after reaching home. Management thinks they are the only smart ppl in the world. Beware of the food you order and check the bill twice.

The place didn’t seem clean, slow service, not a lot of option for substituting sides due to allergy. The rice and other options in the Bento Box had to salt, no flavor, the pickled ginger was VERY DRY. The raw meat was horrible. I won’t come here again.
