Tip: If you don't like too much spice, ask for any extra spicy flavoring on the side. Also, the restaurant is near Minute Maid Park, making it a convenient stop before or after an Astros game.

Avis sur Irma's Southwest Grill Houston
Had a happy hour here with friends and business colleagues. Excellent service, above and beyond. Drinks and appetizers were delicious.
We arrived without a reservation & were welcomed warmly. Manager, Flavi, shared some of her favorite items from the menu & all were delicious & well plated. Flavi showed pride in the quality of the food & she is justified! Our server in the bar area, Nick, was professional & engaging. We will make a point to return to Irma’s when we next visit Houston.
We went to Irmas southwest the February 14 before concert and was the greates serviles everything we resived. Our servir was Joanna and the manager Elia were amazing. The did what servirse have to do, offer the main drink, oferte the special plate and the dessert. Dessert was amazing " Mexican Puding w/ ice cream" I can not Giselle 10 * because I can't. Servir amazing. Manager increíble
I got the combo #1 with bf fajitas, shrimp taco and a cheese enchilada and it was really good. I got a piece of thres leches for dessert and it was amazing!
Everything about this place was fantastic! Eat here, drink here, and you’ll leave smiling. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of character — like being invited into a family gathering. The menu is unique, full of flavor, and clearly inspired by love and tradition. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning for more, Irma’s feels like home.
From the moment we walked into Irma’s Southwest, we were treated like family. The atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and full of character exactly what you hope for in a true Texas gem. The food was absolutely phenomenal, every bite packed with flavor and clearly made with care. What made the experience even more special was Louis Galvan himself. Not only did he personally greet us, but he also cooked for us! His hospitality, warmth, and passion for what he does truly set the tone for the entire visit. You can feel the love in both the food and the service. If you’re looking for a place with top-notch food, an unforgettable atmosphere, and a host who genuinely cares, Irma’s Southwest is it. We’ll definitely be back!
Hands down the BEST Mexican food we’ve ever had!! In town for Astros game and walked in shortly after opening. Quickly greeted by hostess and the owner, Louis, who is the son of the original Irma’s. After Louis found out we’re huge fans of Mexican food, he asks to cook for us today and proceeds to present an array of tasty dishes. From the house lemonade to lentil soup and main courses not on the menu, based on each of mine and my husband’s favorite dishes. We were so stuffed, we unfortunately did not have room for dessert. It was all amazing. Louis is the best host and has a wonderful restaurant. Will return every time we’re in Houston!!
Delicious! We ordered the Combo #1 and Blackened Shrimp Enchilada. Both were yummy. As neither are fans of excess of spice, we ordered a side of sour cream and any extra spicy flavoring on the side. Definitely worth the cost. Our waiter, Marco, was helpful and attentive and suggested things that matched our needs. We would love to come back!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Irma's Southwest, and it was an experience to remember. I opted for the Maria Silva's platter, while my Hubby enjoyed the carnitas, and both dishes were simply superb. The flavors were authentic, and the portions were just right, leaving us both fully satisfied. What made our visit even more special was the exceptional service. Andy, the manager, ensured that we were well taken care of, and the entire staff was attentive and friendly. Everything was spot on, from the warm welcome to the attentive service throughout our meal. Irma's Southwest has been our spot for a while, and we definitely will continue to return. Highly recommend!
Visited for my birthday and everything was just as expected. The food, waitstaff and atmosphere was wonderful. We accidentally booked during a busy time (Astros game) but we were able to find parking with no hesitation. Although I am not a huge tres leche fan, I would have to say that the cake was pretty good. Quesadillas were amazing and drinks were very good.
Been seeing this place for a while and decided to give it a try. The view from the outside is unassuming and once you enter, it looks like an unorganized restaurant but it's FAR from unorganized. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh and actually cooked, not heated! They didn't have menus for lunch but the waiter told us everything that we needed to know. Authentic Mexican food is better than tex-mex imo, so if you like authentic, this is your place! Oh, and get the house lemonade!
Love Love Love Irma's Southwest! From the time you enter the restaurant, the staff is so welcoming and always makes sure you gave the best experience. Their food is so good, fresh and vibrant. They're located right up the street from Minute Maid Park....If you're in the Houston area... You won't go wrong stopping in to get a spiked lemonade or margarita!!
The food was alright. I had the fish tacos - could've used more flavor. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our party has a great time here.
The food here was really good. I had some queso, some guac, and their salsa to start. I decided to get the burger since I was interested in the Nilgai and I’m glad I tried it! It was quite good. You could tell it wasn’t cow beef but they made a great burger out of it. High price for a fairly normal portion; that’s downtown for ya! I personally don’t really like the downtown scene. Parking sucks. Ambiance wasn’t great. Very loud. Other than that, I’m happy with the service and food.
I was hopeful, but in the end as I expected. Average food, small serving way overpriced. Had the beef fajitas, they were huge chunks, should have been cut thinner. No beans on side, served with rice that was average. The guacamole was good. The chips were average. The la Pina margarita was ok. The frozen margarita was excellent. But, $20 per margarita is a joke. No wonder this place was empty. The menu selection was super small, meaning not many choices. Need to do better.
Irma’s Southeast is honestly a joke. They act like they own the entire street and try to intimidate people for parking legally. I parked where it was 100% allowed and they still came outside and slapped some corny “Amazon warning” sticker on my car like they’re the parking police. Instead of focusing on their food and service, they’ve got people posted outside monitoring cars like it’s some kind of scam operation. Super unprofessional, tacky, and embarrassing. Now I see why the place was EMPTY on a Saturday night. If you want customers, maybe stop harassing people before they even walk in. Won’t be back.
The ambiance was nice, kind employees overall. Food was mid , they up charged for everything, small portions. They brought items we did not ask for and still charged for it. Example: requested one side of spicy sauce- they brought two super small portion and charged for two even though we only requested one. They did not ask which type of tortillas we wanted The value and quality of food did not match
