First time here for a birthday party. I like it, nice sized covered patio. I had the bang bang shrimp and they were soo good. The frozen margarita was good as well. I will definitely go back.

One of the best burgers in HTOWN! Jax is a super casual spot, lots of great food and beer. I love their burger because it has a great meat flavor like the burgers my mother used to make me. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is enjoyable. Do yourself a favor and try this burger!

I have been eating here for many years. I love this place. I love the large covered patio the most. The menu is amazing. I go there with a lot of people because they have such a variety of food. You can get everything from gumbo to a Cobb salad to hamburgers to fried mushrooms to grilled catfish with vegetables. There is something for everyone. The consistent high quality of the food over the years is truly amazing. I am no foodie, but I know when my fries have been overcooked in grease that hasn’t been changed for a month. Not here! I can always count on fresh ingredients that are well-prepared to MY specification. (They are wonderfully and creatively accommodating.) One exception - their tea has always been awful! It is watered down and completely tasteless. When u add sweetener it just tastes like sweet water. Yuk! Listen up Jax. Change the brand! I don’t think it is just about the strength. But it does need to be waaaayyyyy stronger, and remember we’re adding ice.

My God mother was in town from Alanta with some friends celebrating a birthday.... I haven't seen her since I was 13, they decided on Jax..... amazing and the Zydeco music was the icing on the cake

The only thing bad about jax is the parking, the food was great, live band was great, and great environment ( I had my 5 yr old son with and although he had more fun than me I want bring him back, there was to many people and drinking for children in this environment if you ask me)

Always good food here. It was about 2pm when we arrived so there was no lunch crowd. My parents in their 80s enjoyed the grilled catfish platter with veggies and the soup of the day. In his advancing age and debilitating health, my dad is very picky about food, so it makes me happy to see him eat good food at Jax Grill, and he likes it here, no complaints. As for me, I ordered the crabmeat enchiladas special, which was delicious 😋 also the rice dish is very tasty. We highly recommend Jax Grill at 1613 Shepherd Dr and I-10.

Came in on a Monday for lunch. The biggest portions I've had in a long time. Great food.I enjoyed my visit here, and its even great when you dash it!

The food is past amazing and ten blocks north. I ordered the barbecue burger with sweet potato fries...and an adult drink we named the Lexington after the bartender. Lexy is super sweet and created this drink for me with no name (something with vodka, orange juice, and something else)and since it didn't have a name, we helped her name it. Parking is no issue... I'll be back Jax!

I had the combo fajitas bowl (chicken and beef). The meat was tender and juicy, fresh veggies, and seasoned rice. All very tasty. They forgot the avocado, but I still recommend the bowl!

I've always been a fan of Jax since I used to frequent the Bellaire location. I prefer this location because it has a bar that you can sit at and order instead of using the counter service. I really wish this place would upgrade and add more TVs. I know it's not a sports bar but even though it could be a really good one at least improve the TV situation. Could be a great place for game watch parties. Food here is generally always good. They have a great variety and daily specials. I'm always impressed by the service and kitchen staff. Top notch for sure and runs like a well oiled machine. Last time I came I noticed they changed their menus and just laminated printouts that were poor quality. If you're going to laminate basic printer paper at least make sure the copy is readable and doesn't look like a poor copy. See one of the attached pics.

A pleasant and friendly neighborhood bar...food is ordered and paid for at a counter and later collected at the pickup point. The bar operates separately. The place is your basic no frills sports bar. We enjoyed the pork chops and the fish n chips..very generous portions at a reasonable price. The bar tab for 2 beers and a glass of wine was also very reasonable. If you're looking for good all round value, I can well recommend this place.

My church, Village Heights, reserved the private dining room at Jax for a lunch time volunteer strategy meeting. They were really easy to work with (even though they had to bump our reservation 30 minutes later on the day of our event) and the food was pretty tasty. I found this restaurant when I searched online for chicken fried steak near me. It's located on Shepherd Drive just south of the Katy Freeway. There is no table service. You order at the counter and pickup when your order is called. The chicken fried steak is very good and reasonably priced at $13.99 + tax. It's tenderized breaded round steak. The breading is not greasy.p

Long time restaurant with a bar and variety of seafood, American cuisine and comfort food. Extremely popular lunch and dinner spot. A mix of Texas, Mexico & Louisiana regarding food and decor. I remember the amazing live music offered on the deck back in the day. I've only been a handful of times, but a great place to gather up w friends or a lively spot for a date.

I tried the nachos but my preference isn't the white cheese, so I asked for the hamburger instead and paid the difference some I added a few items to the burger. It was okay, but the Soup of the Day (Spinach and Crab) was FABULOUS! That made my day! My companion loved the rainbow and salmon fish, but my item were just okay for me, but they enjoyed it.

HPD parking lot security is extremely aggressive, decided just to leave and eat somewhere else... The officer was in a black Suburban. I had a flashlight in my face before my car was fully in the parking lot.

Stopped by on our way home from a DR appt. The food was ok. Hubby got a burger and fries and I got the soft blackened chicken tacos. My tacos were very good and the salsa was quite tasty, my charro beans and rice were bland. The burger was large enough that we could have shared it, but the meat was barely seasoned. The fries however were awesome. If we are ever over on that side of town we would probably give them another try, I'm thinking one of the taco bowls... But I'll for sure ask for extra salsa or salt and pepper to add to it.

I had the chicken fried chicken, my son had the Ring of Fire nurger w/Fries and hubs had the THE Turkey burger. The food was good. The low s core is because I was here at 6pm and almost EVERY table was reserved. Please fix this. I understand parties and celebrations but when you have e people standing at 7pm and there are empty tables...there needs to be a specific time to be here for those tables. It's not fun paying $60.00 for food and almost $30.00 for drinks and having to stand (or in our case) sit nearly in the rain to eat/drink. Parking is also a NIGHTMARE! It is shared between other restaurants. Fix the seating/reservation issue and I'll update my rating.

It was my first time going to this restaurant on my birthday. I brought my two kids, and my wife there. We saw online that there was a discount. One free child meal per adult entree ordered. We BOTH ordered a meal, but had to pay for one child's meal. We asked to speak to the manager and she "doesn't know the deals because she never works on Sunday." I told them about the discount and they kept disagreeing, and eventually, I had to show them a picture of their own advertising that was even posted in the bathroom, and they eventually gave me the money back. I would not recommend this restaurant.

It’s just okay. The whole restaurant stank badly of rotten eggs which really made the experience a lot less pleasant. I got the chicken tenders. They were very hot which was good, but I don’t think there’s anything that sets this restaurant apart from any other burger and chicken joint. It’s a decent price for a decent meal, but it’s not going to blow your mind or anything.

The atmosphere is good, but the food is not as good as it use to be. If they don't improve with the taste of their fish, I will start eating else where before going. I ordered fish, and all the crust fell off my two fish plates. I all so notice the quality of their fried chicken has diminished. They are selling the big tough, look as if the chicken been shoot up with steroids, not good.

I've nvr eaten here and decided to order online for pick up. Placed my order, walked inside. Read the signs where ro pick up to go food which led me to the bar. Lady asked my number I have it to her. She asked online or called in. I said online. Well that's why I cant find it. Walked over to another area. My food was ready. Burger was dry and I paid 1.99 for sweet potatoes fries. I received regular fries. I looked at my bill once I got to my destination, 1.00 online fee. And 5.76 for packaging fee added as well. For 4 Styrofoam containers???? 4???? Woow! 8.00 i lost today for such poor product and sub par service. I will never recommend this place.
