07/2024. One of the best Salsa Schools in Houston. Probably one of the oldest at this point. The Saturday social on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month is pretty chill, usually people at all levels attend and are all the to dance. The last time I went they had a Zouks room in addition to the bachata and main all-salsa room. Sadly, don't expect music variety in the rooms. It is All Salsa, All Bachata ALL THE TIME. Don't expect a Reggaeton or Merengue or Cumbia thrown in to change things up after 14 songs in the same genre. As for the songs they play, that part is subjective and I won't comment on it. Entrance is $17 if you pay with debit or credit. Plenty of parking. -Pedro

The Palladium is such a wonderful space to dance in. I took the Salsa 1 and 1.5 progressive class with Jasmine and she was great. Very knowledgeable and great at explaining things in a beginner friendly way. Would recommend taking a class with her and also any of the other wonderful instructors who teach here. 10/10 :)

Joey and Jenni are truly exceptional dance instructors. I’ve had the opportunity to give my first steps with them. Their enthusiasm creates the perfect atmosphere in every class. Joey's technical approach is fantastic; he breaks down each step , with the best insights after each new lesson. Meanwhile, Jenni's detailed explanations and patient guidance ensure that everyone gets the best on each class. I love their passion for teaching and sharing. Thank you, Joey and Jenni, for your outstanding instruction and thank you Salrica for having the best staff !!

My husband and I have been taking private lessons with Jasmin and the experience has been amazing. She is attentive and very patient. We have taken 4 private lessons with her and we both have improved and learned so much. If you want to learn Salsa, Bachata or even merengue, Jasmin is the girl for you!

If you are scared, or are on the fence about taking salsa and bachata lessons don't be. I highly recommend you take that first step and call The Palladium, ask for Jasmin. I promise you that you will not regret it. I wish I would of done this a long time ago. I started my private lessons a few months ago and Jasmine has made it really enjoyable. I have a lot of fun learning from her and from classes taught by other instructors. I'll admit that there were times I wanted to give up because I felt I could never be good, but if you mustard up the courage and just show up, you will be dancing in no time.

I’m absolutely a fan. The first time I went for a salsa social I was worried because the location seemed secluded. However, now that I’ve been a few times I realize it is very well lit and safe. The inside is very nice, floors are excellent and the music is great in my opinion. They sell some drinks, but mostly you can BYOB. I’m a fan and recommend Palladium for salsa dancing. I have never been to the classes, but have heard good reviews, so enjoy!

Palladium dance studio is very nice. I started taking private Salsa lessons with one of their instructors name Joey. He is fantastic, very detailed, knowledgeable, kind, and most importantly, I'm learning to dance Salsa properly. A great investment. Thank you Joey

Jasmin's bachata classes are like a shot of pure energy ! She is so positive and patient. Trust me, even if you've got two left feet (like me, lol), she will make you feel comfortable in no time. I can see her work ethic and professionalism in the short time I’ve known her and I hope she can keep teaching classes for a long time. Thank you Jasmin !!!🙌

The Palladium is the best place in Houston to be to learn dance. If you are always working from home and need excitement in your life I recommend Marquis' Vogue class which starts at 6:15 every Wednesday. There are other classes as well if Vogue isn't something that peaks your interest. Everyone is really helpful and nice classes be about $12 depending on the instructor.

Friendly people and always ladies to dance with. A few are kind of snooty / moody, but most are very nice. Been dancing for many years and they are pretty chill here comparitively. It's a studio and most dancers are using a type of balet/ballroom style salsa with a little flare. Saturdays have really good and versatile style dancers, all ages, not just ballroom. The older guys usually dance the best, more natural, less scripted. Sarurdays you'll even see come Cuban and Colombian styles. Most ladies are versatile and can adjust to anything. There are always begginers but the learn fast. You will know the smug men instantly. they make the ladies feel insecure because they don't dance like pros. Look for the $20 patent leather dance shoes and skin tight booty pants. The crowd is equally enthusiastic for both bachata and salsa. Also, its not just salsa 2 songs and bachata for the next hour. DJs are usually on point playing good and equal numbers of both. Saturdays, they have separate rooms for Salsa and bachata. Overall, the crowd and vibe are consistently positive.

I usually go to their social latin dance. The venue is beautiful and their social dance is well organized. Every Friday and every other Saturday they have social. The only thing I wish they had better options in their bar.

I've had 1 private salsa lesson here and have been to a few socials. I have had mixed experiences, would rate 2.5 if possible. As a novice dancer, 1 out of the 4 socials i went to was actually fun, but the other 3 really weren't. I tell everyone who asks me to dance that I'm new and learning and i thought they would be understanding but not all of them are. Here are some pros and cons to help new dancers: PROS: Location good if you're on the west side Nice venue Teachers are knowledgeable (the private lesson was excellent) PROS FOR SOCIAL: Only $15 cover SOME leads are very helpful and excellent at leading a novice, they make you feel like you're a pro! Not a lot of drunk people Guys go there to dance, you will be asked! Good mix of salsa and bachata Performances from dance groups are exciting to watch and added bonus Plenty of seating for breaks plenty of parking AC is cold and appreciated CONS FOR SOCIAL; SOME of the guys that go there are such good dancers it seems they look down on new students just learning, to the point they snicker with each other while dancing with you... it's noticeable, even if they think it's not. Even if you tell them you're just learning, plus, you're at a dance studio where students go, what do you expect!! If you don't like bachata, you'll still be asked and end up dancing it. (I'm probably the only person that doesn't like it! 😅). I'll probably go back to the social and pray it's on a night that the nice, good leads are there, but after I take a few more private lessons. It sucks that I'm self-conscious after my last social because how am I supposed to learn? Hope this helps someone new to be ready and set expectations.

Definitely, not a good place for Latin dance in Houston. I went once and it was said that the social will start at 10:00. They kept teaching a class and doing shows until 10:40. There was also no salsa songs, being said on their page! I won't go again and don't recommend it!

Absolute joke. Don't waste your money. Inadequate parking, inadequate handicap accomodations in the seedy location. Lost $50 bwcause we arrived an hr before a show and couldn't find a place to park. My wife and I both have walking issues and the best the parking attendant could do is hand me a preprinted map for a garage 6 blocks away. Spend your money at Eckerd or Bay Care, where its better. The group that sponsers these concerts should seriously consider a better venue. Wish I could give it no stars.

I have been coming for years since the days of westheimer and it has always been great. Today, my back is injured so I went just to watch some great dancers. It is freezing inside so I had my jacket on. I came inside with my jacket on and paid the cover of $15 and the same young lady who I paid my money to for my wristband comes up to me about 30 minutes later and questions if I paid. She said the owner asked and she said something about cameras. They actually thought i tried to sneak in for a little $15, a man who has worked on the movie Rush Hour 3 with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Ridiculous. Maybe if you wear long sleeves they question your integrity or if you are injured and can’t dance or if you’re like 1 of 3 black guys. Who knows. It’s a shame. If you think there is a chance that people are sneaking in, keep a better lookout or while the young lady gets asked to dance, make sure someone covers for you so people can’t sneak in. That way, you won’t go around questioning loyal people with integrity who have been coming for years whether or not they paid.
