5 stars. Excellent service. I mistakenly placed & paid for an online order for a Pappasito’s 45 mins away. The folks here took care of me well, offering me to have the order made here instead. Thank you so much to the Manager, kitchen staff, & curbside this evening (Jan 7th, 2025 @ 6 PM).
We loved Pappasitos! The food was delicious. Our waitress Tiffany F. was amazing! She did an outstanding job for our big group. The food was so good, and the service was perfect. This location is beautiful and so clean and the staff is very friendly. We had a great experience and would totally recommend it.
Rebecca J gave us amazing and exceptional service today at Pappasitos Memorial City! She was on top of drink refills, chips and salsa refills the entire lunch! It was very busy today and she maintained professionalism and calmness throughout our time there. Thank you Rebecca! You are awesome!
Good food, nice atmosphere (a little loud in a festive way), and great service. Our server was Mikey and what a waiter! Even though the restaurant and he were quite busy, Mikey made time for us, was prompt, and met our every need and was very nice and friendly. We'll definitely be requesting Mikey as our waiter upon our return. Would recommend the Chipotle shrimp, but everything we had was good. House margaritas were great too.
Pappasito’s is a place where you simply should feel pleased and satisfied. The restaurant is bustling, with a lovely atmosphere and a decent crowd of people on Saturday night; however, even though there is a sizable amount of people dining here, the noise is not obnoxious. Plus, the music (and this is around the Christmas season, so it may differ depending on when you come) is pretty calm and complements the atmosphere. My party received good service the whole time, and all of our needs (straws, refills, and new chip containers) were fulfilled in a timely manner. And the food is delicious as well. I ordered the chicken fajita quesadillas, a plate consisting of six quesadillas stuffed with well-cooked chicken and some good-quality cheese; the guacamole and sour cream on the side were good additions. My brother ate the tacos al carbon, and he remarked at how good the fajita beef was, saying “they’re really good”. My grandmother also enjoyed her order of the tacos al carbon, and my father enjoyed his Monterrey Combination, which consisted of a cheese enchilada, a chicken flauta, and a type of beef enchilada. My mother ordered the birria tacos; the birria itself was good, and on the whole the meal was tasty, though the peanut sauce that came with it seemed out of place to her. Keep in mind that these tacos do not come pre-prepared; you get a large bowl of birria and a separate bowl of tortillas, with various toppings and that peanut sauce that I mentioned. My mother was not significantly impressed with this meal. The prices at Pappasito’s are a bit higher than some other Mexican restaurants that I’ve reviewed (such as Chuy’s and, to a small degree, Red River Cantina), but in this current market they’re not uncommon. My chicken fajita enchiladas were a little over $22, for example. Overall, this is a very solid spot for dinner, and you should be pleased if you decide to come.
It was my first time visiting, and I went with a group of friends who had reserved a table after a close friend of mine got baptized. I ordered the fajita special, and when I asked to switch something in my order, they had no problem fixing it right away. The staff made sure I was taken care of, and the service and atmosphere were excellent. Overall, the food was great and the experience even better!
First-Time Visit Made Memorable! I had the pleasure of dining at Pappasito’s in Houston for the first time, and it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment we walked in, our waitress—an incredibly kind and friendly Christian woman—made us feel right at home. She greeted us with genuine warmth and even brought out salsa and queso to start, which was such a thoughtful touch and a delicious surprise! The food was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and served with care. You can tell the staff takes pride in both the service and the kitchen. As a first-time visitor, I felt welcomed and appreciated, and that’s not something you find everywhere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great Tex-Mex and even better hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!
Food is amazing, been here 4 times and every time had awesome experience. Frozen margarita is on the next level! This place can be very noisy though.
First time at Pappasito’s and I was impressed! The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was super friendly. Definitely coming back!
The waitress telisha was very helpful Hard worker knows what the customer wants. Thank you very much, Papaito.food was amazing
I had an outstanding dining experience at Pappasito’s Tex-Mex! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. I ordered the fajitas, and they were absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and the crab meat-stuffed jumbo shrimp was a true highlight, packed with fresh, savory goodness. The chicken flautas, served with rice and refried beans, rounded out the meal beautifully. Every bite was a delight! The service was warm and attentive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! If you're a fan of bold flavors and quality Tex-Mex, this place is a must-try.
Just perfect! I got the Filet mignon fajitas, crab cake stuffed shrimp and a nice cold Topo Chico. Best of the best service.
I can't get enough of the Lime Salad & Salmon dish!! It's super delicious with avocado, wonton crisps, some of the best salmon I've ever had, and a delicious dressing! The chips & dip is also very yummy- and they always refill! These portion sizes are massive, so make sure to arrive extra hungry or be prepared to take leftovers home. The atmosphere outdoors is lovely with a waterfall & indoors is bustling with upbeat music. If you like Tex-Mex or are willing to give it a try, make sure to stop by. It's also the perfect place to go for a business lunch or grab a margarita!
Reasonably good food and very nice service. The chicken was juicy (although not very flavorful) and the portion size very reasonable. Drink menu is really good at this place. Beans were not the greatest, but still good. The chips and salsa was great!
My recent visit to Pappasitos Cantina was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment my coworker and I arrived around 7pm, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated near the bar area. Our server, Cher, took excellent care of us, starting with refreshing beverages and complimentary chips and salsa. Speaking of which, the salsa was hands down one of the best I've ever tasted! Despite the bustling crowd, our food arrived surprisingly quickly—within 15 minutes. I opted for the Beef Fajitas with a side salad featuring Tequila lime dressing, while my coworker enjoyed the Snapper Fish Tacos. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either, or better yet, both for sharing with family. Overall, I can't speak highly enough of this Pappasitos location. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded my expectations. Cher's attentive service truly made the experience memorable. I'll definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and family alike.
Great happy hour deals! The food was delicious. Servers at the bar (can only be at the bar for the happy hour) were very quick and friendly. Chips and salsa they serve are addicting!
Sunday had lunch with the wife at her favorite Mexican restaurant, Pappasito's off I-10 & The Beltway. We, as always, asked & sat in Jesse's section (thank God he was there). An amazing server... Highly recommend. The food was delicious as always. Aside from the chips and queso order, we shared an order of Fajitas (beef & chicken) medium for 2 people. More than enough for us along with the Reserva Margarita for the wife and I a Mango Ginger beer drink. Tasty! All in all, a great experience for us. Remember, ask for Jesse to enhance your meal out experience 🤗
Great service with really good food
The most delicious fajitas in town, in my opinion. Sizzling fajitas made to order! My favorite. The atmosphere is perfect for family, dates, or a friendly dinner meet up. The waitstaff are friendly and very attentive. There is always a wait, so it’s best to reserve a table. The bar drinks are spot on! The best in town!
Amazing experience! The staff was so awesome. They were professional, quick, and so personable. The food was awesome. There were 22 of us who visited and they were so accommodating! I love this location. I can't wait to visit again.
Excellent food and ambiance. I am in love with their cheese enchiladas. Also, the wave cocktail which is a frozen margarita swirled with sangria is so good! I’m definitely going to look up and see where there are other locations of this restaurant!
Love this place. Great for any occasion. Food is always perfect and flavorful. I usually dont like Tex-Mex but this is my favorite place. I hope they have a Pappasitos in the afterlife!
The foods was great, the service could have been better. Our server kept forgetting to bring my water. I finally flagged another waiter and he got water for me. To compensate, the manager gave us a free dessert without us even asking. Our server must have told her. I would definitely go back...
I can't control myself of how my visit, service and hospitality made me feel during my lunch time here. The Hostess, The Servers, on down to the BEST served fresh, hot and delish food that was plated with sparkling, polished clean and prestene silverware, well, this Pappasitos location plays mo games with delivering you the absolute BEST service ever! [I'd wish all other Pappasitos' location can take hellva notes from here]. If you're looking for succulent Tex-Mex food, well, this is it! You will not be disappointed. This Pzppasitos location is in my system through and through! If you're in the area, stop in and try that Queso Fundido. What a Fiesta it gives to ones palette, OMG! Keep being the best Pappasitos! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
We celebrated my birthday it was awesome .Our server Edwin V. Was on point with everything! Edwin and his co - workers even came to the table and entertain us with a Birthday Song! Thank you Pappasito for having a Great Staff Especially Edwin V. OUR SEVER!
I have never actually eaten inside, so I’m only giving my review for takeout. I ordered here for takeout for my company as well as personal orders. I had a recent experience and the manager went out his way to accommodate me for the mishap! I was extremely impressed with his service as well as the food was so good. I came back two days later to order more.! my company as well as myself and family will continue to come here and eat here. I will say this has been the best location yet.
Best steak fajitas I've ever had. The bacon wrapped shrimp is really good too. They serve warm salsa and nicely seasoned fresh tortilla chips cantina style.
Love this location but I really wanted to give a shout out to Farren and Simone. They both went above and beyond… it’s just rare to see that level of service. Farren was our waitress a few weeks ago and her energy was on point and she was on top of everything. Simone helped us a separate time when we were having some issues with service and she stepped in to help and she was amazing.
The food was truly excellent! The meat was tender, and the fresh, soft flour tortillas were perfect. I especially loved the tortilla chips and salsa. 😋 The coconut ice cream we shared was a delightful ending! 💯🍦
Love it here. The service has always been top tier and the food does not disappoint. The sweet and spicy ribs are a MUST TRY! The space is a little small for the amount of tables they’ve put inside but, I still keep coming back, lol; Also the drinks are strong and reasonably priced. They also have a great lunch menu. It’s always busy so, just try them anytime and I’m sure you won’t regret it!
I really want to give 5 stars bc I love Pappasito's, but a couple of things prevent it. First, the hostess at the door was hard to hear because she would continually look down when she would speak and then she asked for a name for our party ...name given by a man and she obviously didn't hear him the first time and asked again, he repeated even louder, and she still got it wrong. We wait for about 20 minutes at the bar as we ordered our adult beverage and were served by very professional and busy bartenders, eventually our made up name was up (phone # was correct), we stood at the entry podium without being acknowledged by the same hostess (if even to mention to wait for assistance). After five minutes a pleasant young man came to assist us with our table making a bit of conversation on the way, he too very professional. Our table server (Edwin) was immediately attentive and took amazing care of us. Again another professional. I was sad when I learned the Tequila Lime Chicken Salad was no longer on the menu. I chose the Salmon salad as it contains many of the same ingredients only served on a tostada with refried black beans, although taste was good, the beans got cold too quickly and it just became a matter of texture for me. Only thing I can suggest is to bring back the Tequila Lime Chicken Salad and possibly keep the Salmon as another option. I wasn't the only one talking about it being removed from the menu this evening. First the Mexico City Soup was removed after COVID and now the salad. Boo! 🥺 Another suggestion would be to make sure door hostess' are more attentive to information given and speaking at a level this restaurant requires...it does get really loud.
Margaritas, chips, and salsa were an awesome way to start the dinner. The enchiladas suiza had chunks of chicken which I prefer versus shredded. A pleasant surprise. I'm a serious critic of Mexican cuisine. I prefer to taste the layers of ingredients and not deal with too much spicy chili heat. The salsa was excellent. The enchiladas were covered with a melted cheese that solidified too quickly. The chicken was flavorful and the sour cream gave a nice cool punch to individual bites. The green tomatillo sauce added a pleasing color to the top of the plated meal but generally was a bland layer. Overall the experience was good, I would eat here again.
• Atmosphere: my personal opinion is that the tables are just too close together. If you can sit in the back room, do that. They are group tables but much more space is between them. The place is beautiful and it is fun to see them making tortillas. • Service: this can vary depending on how busy they are and who the waiter is. We have had both excellent experiences and disappointing ones so be prepared either way. • Food: The beef fajitas are a standout here. I have never been disappointed by the quality, quantity, flavor or tenderness. The rice and beans are standard and nothing special. The cheese dip is very good. The lunch portions are a perfect size and should be considered to save you some money. • Price: very expensive, be prepared to spend lots of money • Overall this is hands down the best fajitas in town
Great place and great food. Had the medium fajitas and shared it with the Mrs. with plenty to eat! It was crazy loud but I only say that because I can't hear anything in the first place. It wasn't a problem, just giving a heads up! Anyhow, you should go for sure and try it out! The salsa and queso is super good and the guacamole is fire!!!
From food to service is great. We ordered shrimp and beef fajitas last time and beef fajitas this time. Shrimp were so flavorful and beef were tasty and tender. Their tortillas very nicely thick, soft and fluffy freshly made. Outstanding margaritas. The only complaint I have is not only their price are high, they also charge extra for everything (sour cream, pepper, cheese, guacamole etc..). If you’re going for dinner be there around 6pm or else you could wait an hour .
Pappasito's Cantina is a Tex-Mex restaurant chain with a festive atmosphere. The food is generally good, with a focus on fresh ingredients and large portions. The service is typically friendly and efficient. Here are some pros and cons of Pappasito's Cantina: Pros: Good food: The food is generally tasty and well-prepared. Large portions: The portions are often large, so you're likely to leave feeling full. Festive atmosphere: The restaurants have a festive atmosphere, with colorful decor and mariachi music. Good service: The service is typically friendly and efficient. Cons: Can be expensive: The prices can be a bit high, especially for large groups. Can be crowded: The restaurants can be crowded, especially on weekends and holidays.
Lively Mexican place with good food and great service right in the city center. The menu covers most usual Mexican suspects and some great combos which are value for money given the huge portion sizes. If you are a large group, it's good to call up in advance for reservations specially on weekend.
A popular location for a good chain. Friendly staff seated our large group quickly with no reservation near the end of the lunch rush. Service was fast and food good. Discretely cleared the table while we continued talking. Good place for a group lunch.
Consistent, reliable and delicious. My main reasons why I keep coming to this location! Conveniently located in Memorial city a perfect place for a client lunches and gatherings. Flavor of the food is always on point and the taste of the homemade flower tortillas can’t be beat.
The service was wonderful. The atmosphere was very nice. The salsa was delicious. The food presentation was nice but I was not impressed with my shrimp quesadilla. I should have been able to add my toppings but the cheese was so thick I couldn't. I hope next time I visit I can try something new.
It took about 10 minutes to sit down not bad at all. We asked for outside sitting. We ordered the flight of margaritas, which is three different margaritas. They were pretty good not strong at all. We ordered guacamole appetizer and we ordered combination of fajitas. It took a very long time to get our dinner. I believe there was some kind of misunderstanding where they gave our food tosomeone else. But we never got any anything for it. They brought a dessert for the birthday, which we asked for. Supposedly there was no candle in the restaurant. nobody came out to sing happy birthday. We had to do our own birthday song. we came all the way from Miami and we love this place at least the one near the Houston rodeo location. . I’m a little disappointed this time.
Food was great as always the waiter was in rush to clean the table and took everything although we were not done. Also there was a lady in ballon business going around tables with kids and it was so annoying as we wanted to relax not our kid looking at her and asking us to buy her. We will not go there with kids anymore.
I'm not impressed at all anymore y'all. I used to like going to Pappasito's once or twice a year as a treat because it has always been rather expensive for Tex-Mex and there's just so much other good Tex-Mex available down here in Houston. Went there a couple weeks ago to this location and it was so loud that you could not even have much of a conversation with each other. Everybody just competing to yell talk. I asked the waitress when they seated us if we could be sitting in the back where it was carpeted to absorb some of that sound and was told know that they had a group coming in in a little while. I should have left right then because I regret staying now. Chips and salsa are always good there so I will give them that but the mixed steak and chicken fajita plate was shockingly flavorless for pappasito's. I remember the last time I was there it tasted so good but there just was nothing there. The guacamole appetizer was absolutely flavorless as well. You were basically just eating avocado with a little bit of onion in it. Had to flavor it up with a lot of salt and pepper. The fresh made flour tortillas are really good of course. Took at least half of the food to go because it just wasn't doing anything for me with the chaos everywhere. I guess the moral of the story is that it could have been just an off night on the fajita flavoring but I doubt that was the case. It's a pretty standard time-tested recipe that they use and I just don't think it's good anymore. I did reheat my leftovers the next day and as I bit into a really good size moist piece of chicken there is a harsh chemical off taste that had me spitting it out on my plate. It was like a medical type chemical taste. The beef was fine but there was something wrong with the chicken. I won't be going back ever again. Over $100 for a marginal meal gor 2 with no drinks other than water in an annoyingly loud environment is never going to be worth it for me again.
I did not enjoy my experience here at all on 9.27.25. The restaurant was incredibly loud. People were playing music very louding in front and wanted to be tipped for it. We walked around to several different tables before deciding one to sit at. All of the table were so close together. We even walked by a dirty booth. The worst part was the chicken in the Tacos al Carbon. It was ranci. I never send food back. I had to. It was not edible. The manager did end up switching it out for me to some cheese quesadillas. The quesadillas were not hot. I was expecting to pay for my quesadillas on my check not the rancid Tacos. Oh well, I did not want to make a big deal about it. I know I won't be returning as there are better places.
