Not sure how this place doesn’t have more reviews and a bigger crowd because it truly is so delicious! Might be one of the best restaurants in Chinatown. We got the roti appetizer, hainanese chicken, curry chicken with coconut rice. Blown away! Highly recommend

Delicious food at PappaRich! The braised beef was super flavorful and tender, and the wonton noodle soup was comforting and really hit the spot. Definitely recommend this place to try out.

PappaRich, a Malaysian restaurant at Bellaire Food Street, offers delicious food and excellent value. The attentive servers are very considerate of families with kids. This is the perfect spot for family gatherings and casual business meetings. I really enjoyed my experience!

This place was a true surprise. I love Malaysian food and had been disappointed by some other locations in Houston Chinatown. However papparich really came through. The shrimp and roti and curry were all amazing. The noodle fish we ordered was average but the others made up for it. We’ll return for sure

Authentic Malaysian taste. I prefer the sambal to be more spicy like in KL. Service are excellent and cleanliness top level.

Had a very good lunch at PappaRich. The service was excellent and the food came out quickly. They were extremely busy which I can see why it's so popular. I will definitely come back again & try other dishes.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality - cuisine and service. It is a restaurant serving delicious food at fast-food latency - a hybrid between family friendliness and entree arrangements that delight the eye. The Roti Canai Rendang set the mood with its interpretation that leaves Katmer, Fatir and layered Paratha as also-rans. The Curry Seafood Pot is a Singapore interpretation of cioppini. The flavors of the diverse seafood items were held together by the sauce blend. The Singapore Rice Noodles were good but not too rich mercifully. Obviously, this isn't a copycat dish but prepared by someone who is thoroughly familiar with the variations. The Assam Fish used large chunks of Swai - Vietnamese?. The limitations of my chopsticks skills were evident as I grappled the pieces but all those varieties of vegetables (e.g. eggplant) in the sauce was again very enjoyable. The Cold Pappa Cham was a little mild for my liking. The Hot Teh Tarik was good for those accustomed to frothy milk in their tea but prior choice of the tea blend would have been nice. Should have gone EZ on the Cold 3 Layer Tea was a first time experience with palm sugar. S'sh, don't tell the diet conscious folks about it.

What a wonderful restaurant tucked away in Chinatown! I’m no connoisseur of Malaysian cuisine, but the food here is amazing. From wonderful curries to an assortment of vegetable dishes, everything tastes rich and balanced. The star of the show, for me, was the Hainanese chicken. I hadn’t had it in decades, and the moment I took a bite, it brought me back to my youth. Definitely a high recommendation for anyone in the Houston area.

This place is legit! Hainan chicken rice - The chicken was very tender, perfectly done. The rice however lacks flavor. Sauce was good too! Laksa - Beware that it may be too spicy for some. I loved it. The ingredients were great and the soup flavor was intense and rich. It already have fish ball so unless you want prawns, get the extra otherwise, chicken is a little cheaper. Good noodles. Taste like the authentic one. Chow kwai teo - The flavor was very good. It's not curry based unlike some Chinese restaurant just add cut powder. This one was authentic. Luck Texan, this place is legit.

We had been waiting to visit PappaRich for a while after hearing some great recommendations, and it definitely lived up to the hype. We started with the roti canai and rendang beef—the roti was perfectly flaky, and the beef rendang was rich and flavorful. The chicken satay was also a solid choice, well-seasoned and tasty. For the main course, we got the pepper steak with rice, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. To top it off, we had hot teh tarik, which reminded us of Indian tea but with a sweeter touch. The service was excellent, and overall, the food was amazing. Highly recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Papparich Malaysian Cuisine, and it was an absolute delight. Despite our late arrival close to closing time, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. We checked and ordered halal options from the menu. The flavors of the Malaysian cuisine were exquisite, and the dedication of the staff to accommodate us deserves special mention. A big thank you to the team for their exceptional service and delicious food. Highly recommended if you are craving for Malaysian cuisine!

Great food, plenty of seats, and the service is good. The food comes quick and the prices for each dish hover around $15-20. The tofu tasted amazing. If you like Chinese cuisines, then you'll like this place - a lot of the dishes have a similar flavor/taste. Would recommend!

Really wished I could give 5 stars for food because the chicken laksa and the stir fried beef flat noodles were both five star. But the beef rendang and lamb dishes were horrible because they were so tough the meat had to be cut with a knife. The waitress was great until I pointed out the toughness of the meat. Her only response was that she would tell the cook to cook the dish longer. That said, I do not think I will ever order those dishes from Papparich again. But the laksa and fried noodles were good enough to visit again.

This was our third visit to PappaRich, but our first time dining in and it did not disappoint! We had the opportunity to try several dishes and each one offered something unique. The Satay Mixed was a standout, with tender, perfectly grilled skewers of chicken and beef, accompanied by a rich peanut sauce that had a delightful balance of sweetness and spice. The Curry Laksa Seafood was a comforting bowl of creamy coconut broth, with seafood and cook noodles. The depth of the curry flavor was bold, with a fragrant, well-rounded spice that didn’t overpower the dish, making each bite indulgent yet satisfying. The Hainanese Chicken while tasty but didn’t quite meet our expectations. The chicken was tender, but the flavors weren’t as vibrant as we’ve had elsewhere, leaving it somewhat average in comparison to the other dishes. The Hot Teh Tarik, a signature Malaysian tea, was smooth and rich, with a perfectly balanced sweetness and robust tea flavor, making it the ideal accompaniment to the meal. Service was warm and welcoming, making our dine-in experience even better. While some dishes impressed more than others, we’re definitely looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu. There’s still so much to try!

Ordered mee goreng, nasi lemak, curry laksa and teh. Overall, it wasn’t bad. It is close enough to SEA flavors to ease the homesickness. The mee goreng was a bit on the wet and sweet side, but the teh was perfect. I’d previously tried the char kway teow, and it wasn’t great.. nice noodles but missing the unique CKT flavor... :(

Decent Malaysian food! Service was quick. Per dish review: Roti Canai with Beef Rendang - best out of what we had. Roti very light and fluffy, beef tender and flavorful Curry chicken with rice - Chicken well-cooked, curry itself could have been spicier Nasi Goreng with chicken and shrimp - most disappointing, tasted oily and fishy. Meat seemed dry

Do not order takeout online here. I wanted to try their Wat Tan Hor for lunch, but what I received looked nothing like the description. It was basically a plate of leftover-looking rice noodles with no chicken or shrimp as advertised. I honestly don’t even feel safe eating it. And yet, it cost me $17. That’s insane — it feels like robbery and leaves you feeling disgusted. Avoid this restaurant
