Came to Swamp City for the first time. Ordered seafood fried rice with a combo platter. Just under $20 (the rice was a little extra). Good reasonably priced seafood. I enjoyed my lunch and still had some left over. If definitely come back.

If you are looking for Cajun flavors this place is it. The food was not too expensive but you must know that this place is located in a not so nice neighborhood so I recommend going during day time. Crawfish was well seasoned although do not order the MILD for the crawfish. It was extremely.... Mild. Instead order the spicy and get some rice because their rice was so delicious and fresh. You order and pay and can sit yourself at any table. Also do not expect any catering you are pretty much there for the food. The place had incoming and outgoing customers which is also a good sign. Would come back again..

Definitely not what I remember but still good! Fried food is always greasy but that gumbo sitting hit even harder than homemade and I’m from New Orleans Highly Recommend just wish they put more shrimp and crawfish in there! Sauce for boiled seafood was given butter not much flavor to it! But it don’t even matter it definitely was worth it still!

So I'm a lotus seafood girl, but I was curious about swamp city. Customer service was perfecto - not too much not too little 👌🏾 I ordered spicy turkey necks, 1/2 lb of spicy boiled shrimp, and a 6pc fried shrimp. I went in on an empty stomach, beyond hungry so I think I ordered too much and I sampled everything. Food was hot & fresh, hands down, but it didn't quite land well in flavor and I ate hours ago and it's still not settled in my stomach yet. I kinda feel off, so idk. It wasn't 100% the food - (I shoulda just ate fruit to settle my extreme hunger 1st) but the flavors just didn't quite land well on me

The smoothies are delicious! I had the peach mango one. The Swai fish nuggets were good! I added Cajun seasoning. I wish they were fried a little harder because I prefer my fish crispy. I’m not sure if it softened from the trapped steam from being placed in the styrofoam container or what. The meat inside was flaky and moist. I didn’t care for the fries. They were too hard and not that hot. They didn’t taste fresh or made too order. The texture was like they were cooked in advance and then sat under a warmer light. The famous Cajun fried rice is nothing special. They give you a whole lot of rice and very little shrimp or crawfish. It was dry. You definitely need soy or some other type of sauce. The hush puppies were bland and I’ve definitely had better other places. The mild swamp sauce was good! First it taste like garlic butter but then the heat hits you. It was more medium than mild to me. The spice/heat lingers in your mouth and throat after you eat the food. It made my nose run. The food is very affordable and portion size is good. We (party of 2) dined here for the first time today around 2 pm. It took 15 minutes for the food to be prepared and our order number to be called out. The place was busy when we first arrived with people dining in and picking up to go orders. The staff could do a better job keeping tables cleaned. All of the tables were dirty when we arrived. I wiped ours off with a paper towel but it still had sauce residue so wasn’t technically clean when we ate. Customer service was okay but nothing memorable. A few hours after eating my stomach began to feel uneasy… not sure if it was the seasonings, grease, sauce or food in general.

Just okay. Nothing was bad, but I've just had better fried food. I like crispier catfish. The flavor was fine. The fried shrimp were good. The onion rings were a little greasy, but still tasty. The sweet potato fries were perfect. The spicy corn was really good. We were disappointed with the fried rice because all the pictures showed big shrimp, but it was the little frozen Chinese shrimp. They were busy AF and moved the line quickly. The girl who took our order was friendly and helpful. Glad I went, but if I ever go back, I will try out the boiled seafood and hope for more flavor than the fried seafood.

I am not sure how long they boiled this shrimp, but it is almost impossible to peel. I have been peeling shrimp for 48 years and have only experience this a few times. This is the second time I have picked up an order here and had trouble peeling the shrimp. The flavor is DELICIOUS! But I got through 6 shrimp and I don't even want it anymore. The last time this happened was back in June, I just decided to give it another try. The soft shell crab and the potatoes, corn and spicy sausage were perfect. It's a shame. Photos show the tiny shredded pieces of shell with meat still attached because I couldn't get a piece bigger than my fingertip to peel off at one time.

I used to love this place. Food was always amazing. But the last 3 times I've picked up, the snow crab has been very very disappointing. Not sure what happened, but they are not seasoning the food at all. No juice. No garlic. Cold. This is what it was like before, to now. Same exact order. Months apart. The left only has sauce because I added 2 of the swamp sauce my self.

Been here MANY times and have always had a good experience and enjoyed the food, this was not my experience on my most recent visit . Me and my family ordered takeout, the food tasted like it normally does, fresh and well seasoned. A few hours after all of us eating, multiple family members complained of stomach aches. Fast forward another hour or and we were all vomiting and in excruciating stomach pain. Not sure if the food was under the wrong temperature or what but I know this was the cause because we didn’t eat anything else that day. Hoping this was a one time thing but we will not be back to test it out. Please be careful

Ordered fish and shrimp. This was the worst food I ever had in Houston. The catfish was undercooked and fishy. It was still bleeding after stating extra crispy. Food was dropped toooo early, it was fried but a stale taste. Would not recommend 1/10.

Let me say, I love Swamp City. It’s my GO-TO for boiled seafood. I don’t go anywhere else. But unfortunately I have to speak up. My food was not made with the options chosen. Selected for “not spicy” and the food is EXTRA spicy, it’s not even edible. I order from here all the time and never had issues but this is the second time now that they make my food extremely spicy to where you can barely eat it , let alone enjoy it. Last time this happened I ordered “mild” and it was way too spicy so this time I opted for “not spicy” at all which I actually order spicy every time but due to the previous time I figured I’ll just add my own spice level to my preference. Well didn’t happen that way and it’s NEVER came out this way before. I’m not sure who’s back in that kitchen this last month or so, but something is off. I didn’t complain the first time, I just ended up eating a portion of the food to the best of my ability and throwing away the rest but now this is pushing it considering it seems the cook didn’t even TRY. Why ask for spice level options if you’re not going to cook it the way it was asked for? My order number is Order #491925 and I placed my order for pick up today at 2:18pm with a total of $21.85. I would like to be contacted regarding my issue.
