Went to Pier 500 on 12/12/25 for the first time with a couple of friends to celebrate my friends (& my) birthday. We were supposed to be in one of their igloos but it was too cold, so we were inside instead but that was OK. The inside is very nice. Kinda rustic meets industrial elegance if that makes sense. We had EXCELLENT service and the food was SO good. We had the apple & goat cheese flatbread which was very good. My friend had the Walleye dinner, I had the Pork Chop dinner & our other friend had the Grilled Meatloaf dinner. All 3 of us enjoyed our meals immensely. Zero complaints. My Porkk Chop was so big I had a whole nother meal as left overs. If you want a fantastic, high end restaurant to go to, I would recommend Pier 500. They are also across the street from a park & all of the trees were wrapped with beautiful colored christmas lights. We took pictures from the car because it was so cold, but if you get the chance this holiday season, check out the lights across the street as well and walk through the park. I don't think you will be disappointed.
The Pier 500 will forever be one of our favorite places—it’s where my husband and I had our very first date, and clearly they did something right because we never stopped coming back. Every visit feels a little nostalgic and a lot delicious. The food is always on point, the cocktails are absolutely swoon-worthy, and the wood-fired grilled chicken is hands down the best around (we rave about it every time). Amazing vibes, amazing flavors, and a place that will always have our hearts. Highly recommend for date nights, celebrations, or just because.
I’m visiting Hudson for work and always seek out the best restaurants. I had a hard time deciding on 3 different entrees that sounded amazing, even the bartender told me I gave him 3 very hard choices. I chose the Salmon and it was amazing, my biggest Rave is it came out HOT, no chance it sat in a window for anytime at all. Cole was the most talented bartender I have seen in a long time, that man can sling some drinks! The other bartender was very attentive as well. Great experience, I hope next time I can check out the little outdoor bungalows on the patio. Very cute! 😊
Very popular place. We went early assuming there would be a waiting list, and there was. However, we walked the shops that were open and didn't wait as long as they said for a table. The view of the water is beautiful and we had great food and service. Loved the cauliflower appetizer. We all had the salads and they were delicious. Highly recommend.
Great food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Lavendar Martini, Prime Rib and Rotisserie chicken are specialties. The views from the patio are amazing in the warmer months, and the igloos are so fun in winter. My favorite restaurant!
The place was great, the service was nice, and the location was perfect. The food was outstanding. I got a Smashburger, and it was delicious. I loved the fried coconut shrimp. I also tried the onion soup, which at first I didn't think was going to be that good. It turned out to be delicious. I wish the croutons were crunchy. The walleye fish was very good, pan-seared, and the sauce was outstanding. I'm definitely coming back to try more things. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.
We did the igloo for dinner. Fantastic food, atmosphere, and amazing service from Jonathan. We had the rotisserie chicken and walleye along with the dessert flight. Jonathan was attentive and kind. One of the best servers we have ever had. Didn't miss a beat even after working 66 hours this week. Highly recommend!
This place was awesome! Great view, great service, and great food! Our server, Jenna, recommended a fish called Walleye and it was one of the best fish we’ve ever had!
We celebrated a birthday and had an amazing experience at Pier 500 dining in the igloo. All of the food we ordered was incredibly delicious from the walleye, salmon, pot roast, salmon! I especially loved the artichoke dip, it was savory and by far one of the best artichoke dip I've ever had. We absolutely loved the decor of the igloo and the privacy it offered. It was a little cold but nothing uncomfortable and there was a fire place and blankets inside. The service was also top notch. Thank you Pier 500 for a perfect evening, excellent service and the delicious food.
I really enjoyed my visits to Pier 500. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was excellent, and the service was attentive and friendly. One of the highlights is the beautiful view of the St. Croix River – it makes the whole dining experience extra special. The patio is a wonderful place to sit and relax, especially in nice weather. Just keep in mind that during rain or bad weather, the patio is closed. Overall, a great spot in Hudson – highly recommend! ☀️
Lovely decor inside and great outside dining. A good selection of local food and drink as well as favourites. Service was great, food was tasty and great draft beer. Highly recommend
We had lunch on the patio, it was so pretty to see the river and the food was delicious!! We both had the rotisserie chicken plate which was smoked to perfection. Our server was attentive and so nice!
Whenever we are near Hudson, we stop at one of my favorite restaurants, Pier 500. I absolutely love this place! I’ve been coming since 2013. The food, service and atmosphere is the best around. It’s very consistently great! I’ve been here with family, as a couple, girl friends and business meetings. It has NEVER disappointed over the years. I’ve tasted many menu options. It’s difficult to pick a favorite. They’re all unique in flavor, texture and appeal. Just know I review places often and this one is a standout, IMO. Today, I had there Cajun Walleye Tacos. SO GOOD!!!! My husband loved his Prime Rib Sandwich. Excellent! The carrot cakewas to go and did not disappoint. The warm carmel sauce heightened the flavor and taste. Yummy! I highly recommend a visit!
First...get the brie cheese curds; they melt in your mouth. The atmosphere is rustic but high-end and they were packed on a Monday. They have a great bar, good selection of beer and wine, and we really enjoyed our server. The menu gives you plenty of options but you can only order one thing...they are known for their smoked chicken...it was good. I imagine we will stop again to try more.
Compliment sandwich, love this place I visit about twice a year. I didn't like the old fashion for $13, just watered down and too cherry forward. Maura served me and did an amazing job! A must order here is the Beer battered walleye sandwich! So soft and delicious flavors, get the crispy fries as they were perfectly done! Looking forward to my next visit.
Looked for a post-hike spot with river views. This place fit the bill. Very friendly staff (came to open door for us, accommodated our request for riverside seating, were friendly and professional). The grilled meatloaf was fantastic, paired with garlic mash and parm broccoli. Drinks were great (good selection of mocktails too). View was great. Great meal overall.
One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in my travels that checked every box of a foodie. Good prices, great selection of menu items, delicious food, good portion sizes yet not heavy, impeccable service, prompt seating and food order/delivery, the views, the atmosphere, indoor/outdoor dining options and just off the downtown shopping. Sydney served me with delight and enthusiasm. I appreciate her keen attention and genuine kindness to a solo traveler. I ordered the Parmesan crusted pan fried Walleye with wild rice, almond/cranberry green beans and scratch tartar sauce, Lavender Lemonade with lavender syrup/sugar and for dessert, the Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp with oatmeal crumble and vanilla bean ice cream. Each was just so beautifully prepared and served. I’m so glad I visited this place, then walked the Marina and the dike after. Highly recommend!
It's funny I would come here a long time ago just to have drinks with colleagues after work. The sad thing is we never had much to eat so I didn't know what to think when we visited. We were trying to make it there last summer but it was always packed and parking was challenging. However, my fiance and I decided to come earlier in the day and we arrived we were happy that the parking lot was pretty empty and we got a great parking spot. So when we arrived it was pretty slow inside, not a lot of patrons inside. I've always loved how nice it is on the inside, and you can see the rotisserie going full of chickens. Bathrooms are always clean and the restaurant. I do not remember our servers name but she was a younger gal. She was helpful, friendly, and kind. We enjoyed the food, the service, and the environment and we will definitely return.
Excellent place to have a gourmet meal at reasonable prices. It’s a busy place, so it’s a good idea to make a reservation. The meal was amazing! My husband and I ordered different dishes and both were delicious. I ordered Parmesan crusted Walleye with green beans and asked to switch the rice it comes with by grilled asparagus. My husband ordered pork chops with hash browns and apples. He said the hash browns are the best ones he’s ever had! The staff was friendly and cordial. There are many options of dishes to choose from. We would definitely come back!
Great food and very elegant atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
I was visiting from Syracuse, NY, and had the most amazing food! Seriously! The Minute Chicken.. Incredible. Mediterranean angel hair.. delicious.. the green beans..who knew they could make green beans taste so good!?! I don't know how, but somehow, we saved room for the banana cream pie. You guessed it. Delicious! I would consider flying here for this place! One more thing.. the service .. so attentive and helpful!
I had the opportunity to try this place for the first time with my wife, sisters and brothers in law and it was very good. I had the top sirloin and it was one of the top ten steaks I've ever eaten and everyone else at our table was satisfied. The atmosphere was pleasant and a step up from the usual chain style restaurant and the scenery of the St. Croix was an added bonus.
Loved it! Patrick our server was awesome and gave great recommendations. Walleye cakes were excellent! Chicken meatball was good, and had a few spicy bites which we all enjoyed. 3 people split 1 meatball. They're softball size. Walleye dinner was fantastic, and the scallops & sweet pea risotto was awesome! They offered a twisted snickers ice cream pie dessert which was fantastic! The mojitos on tap were pretty good, too. 😉 Great scenery on the patio, for which they do not take reservations. We got there around 6:30 on a busy Thursday evening (with a concert in the park happening) and had to wait less than 30 minutes for a table of 3.
amazing service, my wife is celiac so we have to be careful with anything she eats. As soon as I told them this, they were extra attentive & communicative with us & very welcoming for modifications so my wife could get a full meal. I was so happy to bring her somewhere that took such great care of us. We will be going back again!
Love this place! They added a New York strip to the menu this week and it needs to be a mainstay. Would visit even more often if the steak was readily available on the menu! Great cocktails and service. Great for business lunch or date night.
The rotisserie chicken was delicious—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and comforting. Enjoy a lavender cosmo while you are there. They are my favorite!!! We booked an outside igloo last Christmas season and it was absolutely magical, creating a cozy and festive atmosphere that made the whole experience feel special. They book up fast though so you have to plan ahead.
Our server was Bobbie, she was wonderful. I had a bad day and she turned it into a good one. She offered good suggestions and had the bartender make me a blackberry mojito which was not on the menu. It was delicious. My husband had the the meatloaf and I had the best panko encrusted walleye ever. Thank you for turning my day around.
Always delicious, the jumbo chicken meatball appetizer is always a favorite for our family. I got the walleye cake appetizer as my meal and it was great alongside a Caesar salad. Service is top notch! Definitely recommend reservations, it gets very busy!
My cousins and I met and shared an igloo. They came from Wisconsin and me Minnesota. Jonathan was our waiter and was exceptional. He made the experience perfect with his knowledge and attention to our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and chatting with him. The food was delicious and the beer was interesting. We will be returning again and again.
Very nice restaurant Edwardo was our server. He was very good. Professional, kind, and he was attentive to our table. Food is amazing. Highly suggest appetizer walleye cakes and fish and fries meal. Thank you pier 500
I went here about 5 years ago and had a magnificent dinner. Loved the Parmesan encrusted walleye and chocolate cake. It is hard to find a place like this. Worth the wait if any, we sat at the bar briefly and had a great chat with the bartender. Great food and cocktails, overall 11/10
Pier 500 absolutely blew me away. From start to finish, this place delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Service: The staff was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make the meal special. It’s rare to find service this consistently good. Gouda Nachos: A must‑order. Rich, flavorful, perfectly melted, and unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere. Rotisserie Chicken: Truly outstanding—tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. One of the best I’ve had anywhere. Pricing: Extremely fair for the quality. You get top‑tier dishes without top‑tier prices, which makes the experience even better. If you live within one hour of this restaurant, you absolutely owe it to yourself to make the drive. Pier 500 is the kind of place that turns a simple dinner into a memorable occasion. 10 out of 10. Highly, highly recommended.
Excellent food, great service, cool atmosphere. Gluten free options always win me over. The GF banana cream pie is SO GOOD! I absolutely love it ❤️💗💙
I was part of a group of friends who gathered after one of our dear friends passed away about ten days ago. We were so fortunate to have a server who instantly understood. When we ordered a bottle of prosecco to toast our friend, she brought an extra glass and poured a ceremonial little vino for M--. All who were there will remember the experience, the food, and the feeling of warmth and good fellowship.
We were taken to this restaurant for dinner by our friends. We are here on vacation from California. I had the jalapeño mule and the tuna poke bowl, and the rest of our party had the fish and chips. My husband ordered a bourbon neat. The waitress told him about a special bottle they had, so he went off her recommendation. The bottle was actually a rye. They had a good conversation about it. My poke bowl was good, but could have used some dressing or additional dressing. The others enjoyed the fish, so good! The Cole slaw and tarter sauce was different. Tarter sauce is very dill-y. We ate out on the patio and had a lovely time.
1st visit dining in - sat at the bar. Manager was doing inventory and I could tell that she took her job seriously. The hosts were very friendly and courteous. The bartender could definitely read the room and wasn't cheesy or overbearing. She gave me straightforward service and took care of the service well in a timely manner. The Old Fashioned cocktail on the menu is pre batched, but still rather solid. French onion soup was delicious!!!! The bowl i had was very light eating with a decent portion but I felt the shrimp lacked flavour. I'll definitely return.
Morgan was a phenomenal server. She made great suggestions and modifications, was friendly and made our experience top notch. Best green beans I’ve ever had. The rotisserie chicken was moist and the burger was nicely done. Nice vibe being on the lake. The interior of the restaurant was great, large with different seating areas and a huge bar. Almost empty when we arrived at 5pm on a Thursday, but packed when we left.
We've been here a few times and mostly dined on the patio in the summer overlooking the St. Croix River. Fish tacos 🌮 in the sun can be just right on a clear day. We also dined inside for a nice dinner in the colder months. I really enjoyed the blackened salmon washed down with an old fashioned.
Had a great experience! Went there for my birthday. As soon as we arrived, was greeted by two hosts and the very smiley young male host took us to our seats. We sat outside the patio because it was a very nice day. At first we sat in a sunny area and asked if we could sit in a shaded area where we could enjoy the scenery. He gladly obliged. This was our first time there and the waitress was very patient, helpful and very friendly. Ordered some cocktails drinks: raspberry lemonade martini and bloody Mary, had the tuna poke and bacon wrap shrimp for appetizers and our entrees Philly cheese steak sandwich and the streak n fish combo. For dessert we had the cocoa chocolate cake…yummmm! Everything was very delicious! On the plus side, the river view scenery is beautiful. 😍 Sorry no menu pictures because the waitress told us they will be changing the menu to cater for the summer because what we had was catered for the winter. Looking forward to coming back again and checking out their summer menu updates. The reason for the 4 stars only, because you have to pay for parking and no valet either. I would give it 4.5, if I could too.
Cute patio, beautiful view and great server! Eduardo was amazing, drinks were delicious. Would come back again! Blood orange martini and Strawberry pineapple sangria delicious
Anniversary dinner on the patio. Wait time was 25-30 minutes, which was okay with us. We went inside and sat at the bar. Ordered guoda nachos, which were fabulous. Our drinks were great tasting, but we felt a little pricey for a cherry margarita in a small glass. Moved to our outside table and enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and listened to the jazz band playing at the band shell. Dinner was mushroom soup, half chicken with garlic mashed potatoes, and steak with avacdo, potatoes, tomato with green salad.
Really great experience! I had the honey something Brussels sprouts.good but very sweet. My friends had the beef stew which they raved about and I had a salmon red quiona salad. Great atmosphere Beautiful view right off the lake. The other pic.is a thai pizza which was okay and spicy
The view from the outdoor dining area is as awesome as the food. I had the app Chicken Meatball. One is enough to share and very good with 2 sauces. My main course was the Yum Yum Steak Bowl. I finished with the ridiculously huge Bread Pudding.
Pretty good place. 4 stars because they messed up one portion of one meal and forgot some of another (they did bring the fixes out quickly though). We sat on the patio and it was beautiful outside! Had a nice view of the water but bugs kept falling onto our plates from the nearby tree. Portion sizes were decent for the price. The hashbrowns have a creamy consistency which is kind of weird and unexpected. I had the Belgium Waffle with apples and it was quite good.
The view of the St. Croix River from the patio is beautiful and makes eating outside the highlight of the visit. The atmosphere is lively and fun, and it is one of the most popular spots in Hudson. The food is okay. Nothing really sticks out, but it is fine. The walleye sandwich is probably the best choice on the menu. Drinks are average, not great but not terrible. The biggest drawback is the wait. There is almost always a list, especially if you want to sit outside. Still, the view and riverfront setting make it worth coming back.
Didn't try it yet? Once again, I enjoyed a very nice dinner at Pier 500. As always, there were pleasant surprises. Today's specials were Sticky Chicken Tenders, although a bit spicier. They were delicious, and as a chef, I would say the Short Rib Dinner was absolutely fantastic. It's very difficult to find them prepared to that extent in other restaurants. But there's a reason for all this. The manager, Rachel, is a true professional who not only takes care of the details but also has the vision to ensure everything turns out perfectly. Until next time. ======================== Dinner at Pier 500 As always, it's a place with a great vibe. I've been a customer for many years, but there's always something new to appreciate. It was a cold day, perfect for their Pierfect Potato Soup, which was delicious. And for dessert, something new: a pistachio cheesecake to which I added vanilla ice cream and hot fudge. I hope they add it to the menu permanently.
Visited on 05/10/25 with a reservation for 6 at 1:00 PM. I arrived at 12:40 PM and informed the host that we would have one additional guest. She assured me it wouldn’t be an issue and we’d still be seated at 1:00 PM as planned. I checked back in at 1:00 PM and was told the table would be ready in 5 minutes. I waited outside and eventually returned to ask how I’d know when the table was ready. That’s when she mentioned she could send a text notification—something that would have been helpful to know earlier to avoid the back and forth. By 1:10 PM, I still hadn’t received a text, so I approached the host again. She was in conversation with someone who seemed to be a friend, based on their exchange. When I asked, she responded, “I was just about to text you.” We were finally seated, but it took another 20 minutes before a server came to take our order. The food itself was excellent, and I would definitely return and recommend it to others. However, I wouldn’t suggest this place for special occasions, as the staff doesn’t appear to have the experience to handle higher-capacity situations smoothly.
We have always enjoyed eating at this restaurant. Yesterday we had lunch with 3 others. 2 of us ordered the steak. In the past the steak has been excellent, however both of us received grisly tough steaks. We should have sent them back in hindsight. We didn’t want to complain or waste time waiting on another selection. The others in our group were satisfied with their meals. Staff were very nice and accommodating in other ways. Won’t be returning anytime soon.
A bunch of my friends and family went here for my birthday today (2/1/26). We arrive and the place looked very nice and calming, but it was honestly not as good as we thought it would be. Waiter immediately comes to our tables and gets our drink orders, yet half of us didn’t get our drinks until 20 minutes later. This was after the fact I had to go and ask another employee for our waiter!! She came back to our table, took our orders, and once I told her about my drink she looked VERY annoyed. She comes back 10 minutes later with my drink, and a compliment of a DIRTY CUP! There were lip stains and fingerprints everywhere! After that, whenever she came to our table she didn’t look me in the eyes or talk to me at all! ( this girl couldn’t have been any older than 23) Our food came AN HOUR after ordering, but only half of it had come out. So half of my party was sitting there watching us eat. The best part is that NONE of the food was warm. I ordered the rotisserie chicken sandwich, tasted good but it was COLD!! Throughout the entire experience we had to ask for our waiter 2 times. And even after all of that there had to be a forced tip for each check!! Overall experience was NOT that great..
As a young adult it makes me sad when the older servers take such little thought to us. We also tip so good but the constant eye roll and walking away mid sentence I could not get past. Along with that the food is soooo below average for the price. Watery sauce, over cooked noodles and the pasta had a bitter taste that was so bad I didn’t know what to do( sine our server would just walk away so fast I couldn’t even get a word out. I don’t remember her name but 0/10.
