I love the pizza here. I wish I could walk from home for pizza like this. They have a brick oven that cooks it perfectly. The Mexican Galosa is my favorite but it's really spicy with serrano peppers. I think before I've had it with jalapenos, but not sure. The English part of the menu says jalapenos but the Spanish part says serrano. Either way, it's so good.

Best pizza in the Isla das Mujeres. A little bit expensive, but the quality of the food and the ambient itself justifies. The localization is excellent, just in the middle of the center, and the chef is a very friendly guy. The waiters, however, are a bit slow. I've had a very good time there.

Very cozy place, well-prepared food. Formaggi pizza was the best I've ever had. Kind, helpful servers and quick service. Pretty good price for the quality. Went here three times during our 6 day vacation!

Ate here twice and both times had great meals. There where 6 of us total and all of us had big smiles when we ate. The oven baked pizza came recommended and it did not disappoint. The second meal I had Red Snapper and my wife had the Grouper. Both where excellent dishes - we would go back in a heart-beat. The service was good and the staff very friendly.

Muy buena hubicacion en Av. Hidalgo, la comida es buena, precios promedio para la calle Hidalgo, no muy baratos.

Muy agradable el lugar, sobre todo el servicio son muy atentos, tienen un menú muy variado , pastas , cortes y las pizzas una de las mejores que hay en la isla , ya que son cocinadas en un horno de piedra que les da un sabor muy peculiar y los precios, muy accesibles !

Las pizzas salen de horno de leña!..... están deliciosas y sus pastas tienen sabores exquisitos la comida está muy rica. Un poco elevado el precio. En cuanto a su servicio su personal es muy poco cordial y te atienden como indiferente sí mejoran ese aspecto mejorará y será un super lugar.

Muy buen menu y magnifico. Lasagnas y mas variedad de comida italiana dd la mejor calidad. Nice lugar; vale la pena visitarlo

Great service and good pizza. Drinks and food were served on time/ relatively quickly. Was able to pay on card with no additional fees which was a bonus. Good value for money, 600 pesos (as we gave a 12% tip) = 25£ for two pizzas and two soft drinks, not too bad!

The good: attentive and professional staff, pasta cooked all dente. The not so good: bland taste of both the pasta and the quattro formaggi pizza we had. Both Cabernet Savignon and Marlot were watery. And yes, it is overpriced for what you get. It would be normally 3 stars, but considering they try to cook Italian on an island in Mexico, I rate it 4 stars for the effort. If you really want an Italian dish while in Mexico, go for it.

Stopped in for a quick bite before going on a sunset booze cruise and we hadn't eaten much all day and figured we needed some food in our stomachs to lessen the drinks effects. Had seen the cooks using the brick pizza ovens during our walks up and down Hidalgo Street and decided on a pizza with a couple glasses of red wine. Service very attentive. Pizza made by hand fresh and with care. Light crust, great chewy texture, fresh ingredients. Very tasty and perfect for what we needed. Next time we will go back and try some other Italian specialties on the menu.

This place always smells so good as you walk by it, so we decided to try it. I had a ribeye steak (premium) and baked potato. It was kind of fatty, but tasty. The crema/herb mixture for the baked potato made it one of the best I've ever tasted. The prices were good, but the price points really confused me on the steaks. My ribeye was 14 ounces, but there was an Angus ribeye that was 10 ounce that cost more pesos. I didn't understand it, but it's something to be aware of. Overall, pretty good place, and service was good.

Caminar por la calle Hidalgo que considero la avenida donde los bares y restaurantes principales se encuentran en isla mujeres... las opciones para pasar un buen momento... Angelo es una de esas opciones para cenar una pizza hawaiana, a pie de calle disfrutando ver pasar a los turistas que andan deambulando por la zona... buena la fresada... te quita la sed...

I didn't pick the dinner spot this night, my partner did. And I was disappointed. This is why he doesn't pick the dinner spots. The meal was ok at best. Don't even remember what we had. The drinks were spot on delicious

Ate here two nights in a row. Once for the seafood festival and the other for the pizza (Quattro formation). Seafood was well worth the money. All grilled. Sauce was flavorless. But overall seafood was well prepared. Server and owner were very attentive. Second night was pizza. It was delicious. Margarita (strawberry) was delicious. Definitely not the best food on the island but for Hidalgo, not bad at all. A hub for Americans on vacation. Leave Hidalgo for better options but if you’re staying on that strip, Angelo’s is worth it.

Really delicious steak. But 15% tip is added on the bill of foreigners without mentioning anywhere on the menu. This is really cheating guests.

La comida está bastante bien. Aunque escasa y muy cara. Lo que me pareció pésima fue la atención, la mesera apurada y de mal humor. Muy poco paciente. Pedimos 2 vasos de agua para nuestros hijos pequeños y nos dijeron que solo tenían botellas de plástico. Detesto consumir botellas de plástico, dañan al medio ambiente, son un desperdicio innecesario. Además con los precios que manejan y la cantidad de comida que pedimos es inaceptable que no te den 2 vasos con agua. No volvería ni lo recomiendo.

El plato de mariscada no es bueno, muy poco sabor. El calamar muy duro que parecía caucho y mal cortado. El servicio excelente, personal muy amable. Margaritas deliciosas.

*I’ll say firstly that it should be noted that this place appears to have changed ownership and is now called “Romanos.” Reading about this restaurant in a travel book, I had a certain impression that may have been overinflated. I must say firstly, the decor and look of the restaurant is pretty clean and pleasant overall. I enjoyed the fact that they have the wood fire oven in front seating right along the street. The waiters also did their best to announce that they were just (re)opening, and I appreciated as it gave some grace for items they didn’t have on the menu (a little strange though for a grand opening). That being said.. I don’t believe the food really lived up to the appearance of the place. It was okay, nothing special. Me and my partner ordered two pizzas, one of which, the margarita had a tiny piece of basil on each slice. The cocktails also were pretty underwhelming for being 170-80 pesos each. Overall, it wasn’t a great nor bad experience, however it would be hard for me to recommend.

I do not recommend this place:( we feel cheated and were disrespectfully treated but the manager/owner ( not sure who she was as the waiter said owner but I do have doubts). The story as it is from tonight: we asked if the place have pizza with Nutella ( please do not judge) when we sit down my daughter change her mind and ordered bolognese. I specifically said to waitress that we do not want pizza with Nutella and she changed her mind. I ordered carbonara. When focaccia with Nutella was delivered and I said that we do not want it and we were given the answer that with every 2 pastas focaccia is free. So we put focaccia on the side and waited for pastas which we ate. When we ate focaccia. Revived the bill with 10% discount and focaccia included. I asked why we have to pay for focaccia if it was free. Well the answer was that it was mistake by the waitress as she press focaccia (245 pesos) on the bill and now we have to pay. Manager/ owner can and start to pretend that she do not understand English telling me that I have to pay. I felt and still feel scammed and upset about whole situation which for me was not nice trick:( the food was good though still to avoid similar situation I would stay away.

Tax evasion - alert I had a bad experience: when I asked for an invoice, I was told I had to pay 16% of VAT if I wanted the invoice, when the law in Mexico said clearly that it can not be done, in restaurants the price must include the VAT, a business who asks this, it is clearly evading taxes and declaring less income than it actually is. The food is good (considering), the service is average but evasion is a crime and does nothing to develop the region, please, tourist, if you like Mexico do not contribute to these schemes your damaging the local economy. Evasión de impuestos - alerta Tuve una mala experiencia, a la hora de pedir factura, me dijeron que tenía que pagar el 16% de IVA si la quería, cuando esto por ley no se puede hacer, en los restaurantes el precio debe de tener IVA incluido, un local que pide esto, claramente está evadiendo impuestos y declarando menos ingresos que los que realmente tiene. La comida es buena, el servicio es regular, pero la evasión es un delito y no ayuda nada a que la región se desarrolle, por favor, turista, si te gusta México no contribuyas a estos esquemas solo dañas la economía.

Los precios son adecuados al lugar o sea caros, pero la atención pésima por parte de todo el personal levantan las mesas aún uno sentado y casi nos botan a mi y a mi pequeño hijo, eso nos sacamos por estar alabando a gente que al final trata al turismo nacional racistamente 14 de agosto 2019 muy muy pero demasiado lejos de la calidad y el trato de Rolandi

Horrible experiencia, la camarera no sabe ni lo que sirve. Pedimos pastas para un nene y no se podía comer de lo picante, y no te avisan. La pizza traen lo que quieren. Le pedis si lo pueden cambiar y se ríen.

We usually eat here several times during our vacation. So last night was our first trip to Angelo on this vacation. My wife and I both ordered the Angus ribeyes, medium well. They brought the food out to us and the steaks were rare. We told them we ordered medium well, so they took them back. They were gone a few minutes, and brought the steaks back to us. Once again, the meat was rare. I know some people like their steaks that way, but we don't. It actually turns my stomach. So after the 2nd failure, I wasn't mad, but no longer had an appetite. The waiter said he'd take them back AGAIN. I was like "no, you tried twice, and both times the steaks were rare, we are done. " I also told him he'd better not charge us for non- edible food, and asked for the check. He brought us the check, and charged us for the steaks we couldn't eat. I started arguing with him, and asked to see a manager. He refused, and told us we were paying for the food whether it was edible or not. He also stated he could just keep taking it back to the grille. No sir, you clearly don't know the difference between rare and medium well, and I shouldn't have to send my food back 20 times for you to try and get it right. The fact you and your cooks don't know what you're doing isn't MY fault. So, we are done with Angelo, and after this experience, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. We're here on the island for 11 more days, but we will not be going back. So long Angelo! There's too many good places on the island to eat to put up with your staff's incompetence.

First thing the bread was the best part of the meal. It's very overpriced food that is mediocre at best. Our waiter was very inattentive so much that we were given another waitress and she was very nice I wish I got her name. I got the Risotto and tbr rice was still hard. I didn't eat it. My husband gave me his pasta which was very bland carbonara. He also asked for his steak to be medium and it came rare. He asked to get it put back on the grill. The whole experience at this place was bad. My daughter didn't like her pasta either. Her face was soo sad when she tasted it. Not to mention the first waiter we had just removed the bread from in front of my daughter without even asking if she was done which she wasn't. I think thats why they brought us more. Anyway I wouldn't recommend this place.
