Avis sur Machito Jaén
Excelente lugar.
On All Saints' Day, we went for lunch, as we used to go there very often, but we stopped going because we're not from Jaén city. We went back that day and, honestly, practically everything was the same... the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. What we missed most was the "Jefes" platter, and it was still there, exactly as it was when we used to go. And that's about it; it's a great place with delicious food.
A Mexican classic in Jaén that never disappoints! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It had been years since I'd been to this iconic Jaén restaurant, and what a mistake not to have returned sooner! It's one of those places with a long history, an authentic traditional Mexican restaurant where the food transports you directly to Mexico with every bite. Everything was spectacular: authentic flavors, generous portions, and that quality that only time and love for the kitchen can provide. But what truly makes the experience unforgettable is the team. Rocío and Maoli treated us like family: incredibly kind, friendly, attentive at all times, and with smiles that light up the room. You can tell they love what they do, and it's contagious. If you're looking for real Mexican food in Jaén, this is THE place. I'll be back much sooner this time, I promise! Thank you for keeping the essence of good food alive. 🇲🇽❤️
A summer night dining here followed by a stroll is a perfect plan in Jaén! We ordered the nachos with guacamole, the jefes, and the chorizo and cheese fajitas! Everything was delicious, the guy was very attentive with his advice, and it was a pleasant surprise to find non-alcoholic coronitas for those of us taking the car! At the end, they offered us some shots, and it was a pleasure to see that there are places that maintain the essence of years ago and still have the same good atmosphere as I remembered! We'll be back!
This is the first time I've been to El Machito, and I loved the food; it was incredible. The service is exemplary and very accommodating to food intolerances. Although I must say that I had little choice of dishes due to my intolerances. I would definitely go back, but I do wish there was a little more variety in the dishes.
The best Mexican restaurant in the province! The entire menu is spectacular (their famous jefes, their enchiladas, a very cold michelada...) and thanks to their home delivery or pick-up service, we can enjoy a 10-star lunch or dinner whenever we want! The decor and atmosphere are the best I've ever seen! 🎉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🔝
OMG! This place is fantastic! A very lively place, cozy, and an incredible atmosphere for fun dining. Menus hang from the ceiling, excellent food, excellent service, and this place packs up quickly. Sorry, no photos, too busy eating!!! Make sure to leave a tip!
For many years, this has been my favorite place to eat in Jaén. I love this Mexican restaurant, and no matter how much I've searched in other cities, I haven't found anything like it. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced; my favorite dish is the enchilada suiza. The place is small and fills up very quickly, so I recommend going early. Highly recommended.
If you stop in Jaen, you should visit this place! Amazing food, it is lake a mixture between Mexican and Spanish cousin. Loved it!
- Autoservicio.
A lovely Mexican restaurant in the center of Jaén. It's a small place, so it's best to arrive early to get a table. The decor is beautiful and unique, with the menu hanging from the ceiling. Each table has a name, and you have to order at the bar and pick up your order there as well. The waitresses are very friendly, and the food looked delicious.
A small, centrally located restaurant in Jaén, with colorful decor and a great atmosphere. The menus are hung in little bags on each table, the food is delicious, and the restrooms and the restaurant in general are very clean. High chairs are available for children. The only downside is the lack of table service, but otherwise, it's fantastic. I'd been before and had to come back. Thank you.
The food was nothing like Mexican. The fajita meat was tough. The tacos were very good. The drinks were warm. The service is at the bar and practically nonexistent. The cleanliness of the floor and tables was excellent. Here are the photos. The atmosphere was good; it didn't take long for the place to close. I don't like to write bad reviews, but this was a huge disappointment 😞
Very, very overrated. The food quality leaves much to be desired. Honestly, it's partly due to expectations, but oh well. It wasn't terrible overall, and it didn't taste like Mexican food at all; the flavors were very ordinary.
We ate well; the portions were generous and the price was very good, and everything was quite tasty. But of course, there's no table service! They don't clear the plates, and they don't even provide them, so you're left with nothing to worry about. Also, all the tables are very close together and quite small, and you have to eat on stools, which is rather uncomfortable. The chef gets a 10 out of 10, but everything else was bad. The bill came to about €15 per person, but that didn't include dessert or coffee.
Passed this place a few times and it was always busy with locals so we decided to try it out. Hostess was pleasant and the margaritas (the only reason for the second star) were tasty, however, the food (all seemingly from the freezer or a can) left our entire table disenchanted- so much so we considered dining and dashing. Truly, my three year old could’ve prepared a more flavorful meal. Anyone who thinks this place is worth mentioning for its food has obviously never eaten authentic Mexican before.
Extremely disappointed. Overpriced. Food was extremely bland. "Salsa" served with fajitas was essentially ketchup with oregano mixed in and "mole" was made with curry. Not authentic at all in flavor.Food also came out at totally different times about 15-20 minutes wait in between our meals. Nice hostess and wonderful margs (2 stars for that). If you're thinking of trying this place out for yourself just say no...unless you are just going for the margaritas.
When I first read the reviews here, I was certain it would be a nice place to eat. Unfortunately the food resembles more of a fast food restaurant like taco bell, than that of a good Mexican restaurant. I cannot comprehend why there are so many queues to enter the place. They do not even have waiters. You have to serve yourself. The margaritas come out of a slurpy machine. A complete disappointment.
This is the only Mexican restaurant in Jaén, so you have really no other option. The food is nice, definitely. But it is incredibly overpriced. 5.50€ for a quesadilla! Almost 5€ for the toasted sandwich. There is no table service, which is kind of quirky... but you have to ask yourself what exactly are you paying for? No service, no comfortable seating, simple food.
