The BEST fried chicken. BETTER than the major chicken chains. Tastier and much cheaper...Always the same recipe, unlike the major chicken chains who made a bad decision when trying to improve what's not broken. My GO TO place for GOOD chicken.

Best Chicken around by far. Family owned since 1983, friendly service and great prices. Blows Popeyes out the water, very close drive to JFK airport. Whenever I go to JFK I make sure I make a pit stop to NYFC.

Best chicken in town when it comes to ordering fried chicken, not salty like many places. Seasoned just right. Try it out for yourself but haven't tried any other location, only the one on Farmers and Merrick Blvd

I give NY Fried Chicken a big thumbs up! I have been going to them for over 20 years now. I used to go to the one on Sutphin Blvd and Liberty because i lived over that way! I went there before i was pregnant and went after and then started bringing my son so much that he would order his own food! and all the staff knew exactly what he wanted when he came in! and now he is almost 19 and we still go when we can to this one on Merrick Blvd. There are some new people ,but this food is way , way , and so much more better than KFC, Popeyes and whoever else is out there. There should be more stores out there in every borough, especially Brooklyn , next to me and my family! LOVE IT,!

Love the chicken, always fresh. There turnover is quick so you never have to worry about the food sitting. Overall, they tend to get packed but i believe the wait is worth it. There other location is great too on supthin, the service is quicker i believe.

Tash, the cashier is a perfect example of good customer service. She was so polite and professional. I had given up on my black people in fast food restaurants but TASH is beautiful. She worked there on 8/29/23 Tuesday at around 6:10 pm. This info is for management if they want to give her a raise or promotion. TASH can lead a PD on customer service. I am in awe of TASH. I will shop there because of her.

Okay so on Sunday 9/17/2023 I came ordered a chicken sandwich with fries and a 2 piece with macaroni salad. I get home which is 20 minutes away and all I have is a 2 piece nothing else and the sandwich my son said was what was served to him in school. I gave a 5 star because I’ve been coming here for years. But going forward I will check my orders before leaving and not get there chicken sandwich again.

I've been coming here since a kid, but now I think the owner's daughter runs it. Her mother was very nice. I overheard the daughter telling the workers forcefully that we aren't here to sell corn , which is why she lied to a previous customer about the amount they had left. I spoke with the customer while she was ordering and she was very nice. She even ordered an extra Mac salad after I told her it tastes great. She spent over $40. Yet the new manager couldn't respect her and lied to her face. She didn't realize I was still there. When I looked at her she lowered her head. This was on Sat 12/17/22 around 1pm. Despite that, the chicken rivals other popular chains. The Mac salad is outstanding.

I love this place. Not to greasy service is very good. And the chicken is crisp not too seasony like other spots. Fries are meh but I go for the chicken.

Love their food and the service is always on point. My only issue is they have one cash register. And all transactions are done on this one register. Not to mention they have a pick up line, drive-thru and regular order line. This causes an extreme wait in line. I waited almost 15 minutes before ordering. Other than that I have no issues with NY Fried.

This ny fried chicken joint, has been on Merrick blvd for decades. And they still have some good food .I like there fried chicken breast, with some dinner rolls. Plus there French fries aren't bad either. The staff seems friendly and courteous. And the restaurant is clean.

NY Fried chicken is only chicken place in that area. They went up on there prices. Two pieces chicken and macaroni salad around 7.00. My thing is if you dont want to work stay home and leave the attitude behind. Thats to the female worker. I REALLY WISH they would bring that NY Fried Chicken Shake And Burger thats on Sutphin Nd Liberty over here. They have morenof a variety best shakes, ribs, mac and .cheese, yams, roast pork. There chicken tastes better and they dont have attitude. I dont understand why you have to pay an xtra almost 2.00 for french fries with chicken when it should be a given. They need variery on their menu.

The chicken is usually fresh and tasty; however, the internet prices are not consistent from what you will be charged at the location. For example, on the internet a 20 piece box of chicken is $18.95 and at the location they charge $20.95 plus taxes. This could be considered false advertising or a simple error but it needs to be fixed. I guess what I am saying is the food is good but check your price...

I always drive past this place when I'm heading to the gym, but my girl said I should stop by and pick some chicken up from here. She was absolutely right! My only complaint is the low amount of hot sauce they give you. But everything else is on point!!

The food was great but there was an unstable man yelling and cursing inside the place! He chased me in the parking lot! Never again! The staff should have thrown him out for threatening and scaring the customers!

The chicken is always good, when you can get it!!!! They regularly are out of chicken. It's as if Saturday night crowds come as a surprise every week. Ridiculous! The sides are not worth mentioning and unless it's the corn usually go uneaten.

Very good food but the workers need to learn to work as a team and the female cashier upfront lastnight was being very nonchalant and when I asked her does the cheese burger come with she specifically told me “only lettuce and tomato” when I opened my burger there were onions and pickles

Really good chicken, oil is not reused like the average chicken spot. I really appreciate seeing the establishment owned and run by my people's. However the prices are very high and they won't give you fries instead of salad. Staff is friendly

Chicken tasted okay. We came here because of many's recommendations. So we got the combo. The breading on the chicken had more flavor than the chicken itself. The bread that came with it was not warm. The potato salad was so sour we could not stomach it and had to throw it away. The chicken is still much better than KFC and Popeyes.

They used to have one of the best flame broiled burgers ever but then changed it. There chicken hasn't changed which is a good thing. This is more of a pick up than dine in place. This is a chicken spot with some other choices but their focus is chicken.

Great place to get chicken.. but since the coronavirus hit. Them prices hit even more. I remember 10pc of chicken was 10.99 now it's 😢. They must have change the recipe or something. I went there on 9/12/25 and the chicken recipe is different with the same price tag. It’s not worth it anymore. The chicken recipe has definitely changed so u might as well go to Texas or crown fried chicken now cuz it’s not worth it.

S'okay, no big deal...KFC, when done right, is much better, much more interesting taste-wise -- I also like how KFC, when done right, ain't crispy but soft on the outside...I find this interesting -- but anyway, NY Fried Chicken offers pretty decent chicken for pretty decent prices...only complaint is that their restroom's been "out of order" (wink, wink -- but you can still go in and use it) for several weeks now...someone oughta call up the city to complain.... Anyway, they would've been a three-star place but the deliberate lack of a working restroom for over a month now gets them only two stars.

Staff and managers reference to give customer what the want . I have been patronizing with business since they open. Ihave constantly had problems withstaff and manager. I want the 6 peices of chicken breast, leg and wing. They manager referred to sell me chicken because i told him no one in my family eat thighs , he said that too bad, beause i dont take what he offered too bad. I have witnessed the problem with so many customers the get in argument with the worker and management is rotten nasty person. If the continue our NY chicken place will be out of business soon.

Use to be the place to go for good chicken... Not sure who’s responsible for quality assurance but this place has gone downhill.. I was in there recently and watched the workers in the back clean the chicken in dirty sinks using the same grocery bags they use when you purchase food to store the chicken.. I was very sick the next day not to my surprise but my mother also was sick from bad potato salad... Ate there for years but I will not anymore!..

The taste of the chicken fell off... was way better the last time I ate there... need to keep the consistency with the seasoning of the chicken and especially getting the chicken cooked properly... the chicken wasn’t soaked properly could have used another 3 mins in the fryer.. especially the breast part of the chicken..

customer service negative 1. They USED to have decent customer service but now its terrible. I noticed they don't have that many helpers/workers anymore. Today I ordered the wing special and 1 drumstick. I always ask for the chicken that just came out instead of the chicken thats been sitting there, like i always do. first off the old lady barely wanted to say hello, i had to say hi twice for her to say it back and of course my chicken was cold. Normally when i ask the other workers they don't have a problem giving me hot chicken but this mean old lady didn't care and jus gave me whatever. While i was waiting to be next through the drive thru I seen her walk outside to take a look at her black benz.. like WOW ...jus finish eating my cold old fried chicken. If i didn't put the food in the microwave i would have gave 1 star.

Chickens are small. Be careful that they give you hot fresh chicken. Been in the neighborhood for a long time. I don't think they appreciate our customer loyalty. They don't show it.

I love to try different foods however. No fries with most of their menus. You have to purchase fries separately. The chicken after the skin is so fresh that it turned my appetite from even buying another menu anytime soon. Only the chicken crust has flavor which I personally dont eat at all . Plus absolutely no fork or spoon to eat the macaroni salads.

The chicken here is good but the manager has a terrible way in which she speaks to her staff. I always wondered why there were always new faces when I would go there and the incident that occurred during my last trip here explains it all. I honestly felt like finding a job for the young lady that she was demeaning in front of the customers on this particular day. I hope she did indeed find another job after that because no one deserves to be spoken to in that manner.

Nobody wears gloves at this place at night and they have funky attitudes toward the Customers. There is always a help wanted sign but only hires undocumented workers.

Must of fried the chicken in old oil. Then when I ordered, they was to busy to get my order right, on top of that, customer service matters, I handed the lady the cash in her hand, yet my change was placed on the counter and she was back having the inappropriate conversation. Training is needed.

Today 8-12-23 at exactly 9:45 pm I came to New York Fried Chicken at Farmers and Merrick Blvd in Queens NY since it’s been over 3 years I haven’t been here and to my surprise I had a rude awakening The cashiers was very disrespectful and races I go in for fried chicken and he as if I wanted pig feet, spoke to me in a condescending tone and when I educated him, he tried to brush me off with a smile. I would never go back again..

I use to like NY Fried chicken. I recommend them to someone today before going there. Today they just lost a customer. I went there and ordered 4 wings for $5.93 when I left 3 of the wings they gave me were literally the size of a chicken nugget. Unbelievable!

Terrible customer service!! I ordered Uber eats and they put the wrong item in the bag!! And I had to reorder again!! The Manager said he couldn’t give me anything extra after I had to spend more money!! Remember Uber eats only give you back the cost of the item, not the delivery fees!!!

If I could give this place a lower score, I would. The supervisor or shift manager consistently locks the dining area whenever he sees people of color trying to enter. The first time, I came in after work to get some food. A worker inside locked the door, and when I asked why, he said the manager told him to. When I asked the manager, he claimed they were “about to clean.” The next time, there were already two people sitting inside—one was security. When I tried to open the door, it was locked. I heard the same manager tell the security guard not to open it for me. This makes me feel like I’m living in 1950s America, not in my own neighborhood in 2025. No one should be treated differently because of their skin color. This location needs to be investigated for discriminatory practices.

NY fried Chicken on Farmer's and Merrick Blvd in Queens must have new owners. The food was awful. The chicken had no seasoning was dry and tough, something I've never experienced at this establishment that I have purchased food from for over a decade. I'm under the impression that the chicken was cooked the day before and was reheated for sale the next day. I threw the entire meal in the trash! NY Fried, get it together or you'll lose customers because the food currently as it is, is horrible. I will no longer recommend this establishment to anyone!

I ate from here yesterday and it was disgusting. The wings were completely bland, and the food was even nauseating to eat. The french fries were extremely dry, and the chicken sandwich tasted like a frozen chicken patty. They are also very overpriced. I wouldn't recommend coming here, you're better off going to the Kennedy's nearby.

This was my first time trying this place. I ordered an 8-piece chicken only and mentioned to the staff that I don’t eat white meat. The employee informed me, “White meat is part of it.” I asked what I was supposed to do with something I didn’t eat, and he told me that he couldn’t modify my order. He then turned to another person and repeated, “She wants an 8-piece but doesn’t eat white meat.” The other gentleman then explained that I would have to pay for each piece of chicken separately. As a result, I ended up spending $24 for chicken when an 8-piece is supposed to cost $16. This felt like a scam. While the chicken was fresh and nicely fried, it was lacking in seasoning. Never again!!

The chicken is good but the customer service sucks!! The manager has an issue with people choosing the pieces of chicken in which they want to buy. On any combo, they insist that you get chicken breast even if you don't want it. Then they want to charge you an additional fee if you don't want the chicken breast. Why should I have to be forced to pay for a chicken breast when I want a leg or a wing instead??? DOES THIS MAKE SENSE???
