Had a great lunch today at Ernie’s. New menu options were all very tasty. Had a vegan spiced soup, salmon with buckwheat noodles and the winter salad. All delicious. Great service, beautiful views.
Came back for good wine and pizza. They have a very good wine Selection of wine by the glass and the pizza was amazing. So happy longer hours 😄🙏🍷🍕
Excellent brunch on the patio! Bloody Mary's and Eggs Benedict. Service was great as was the view.
Laurette and Dave the bartenders are awesome!! Great service, awesome food. Ernie's never disappoints!!
Loved the place. Right off the PGA west golf course. Great food. Decent price.
Good bloody marys. Great lighting and ambiance. Friendly staff. Didn't try the food but it looked good. Lots of TVs to catch a game.
Good food, great service and a beautiful view of the golf course.
This one as our first time to go to Ernie's but it was very good. Can't go wrong with Ernie's!
Great chicken sandwich and even better service. Thanks to everyone who rallied to return my keys after I left them on the table!!
Amazing view on the golf course Excellent service! Fresh and tasty salads Definitely a wonderful place for a lunch after Golf❤️
Food and service were top notch! What a gem. Some of the best food I've had in the Desert. A must go.
Excellent Sunday brunch (I had the eggs and bacon, sister had the omelet). The service was friendly, atmosphere was fun. The view of the green, lake, PGA course was serene. Lots of historic photos in the entry way.
Clubhouse has a great view of the golf courses. Food was great and staffs were very friendly. There are large TVs everywhere to watch sports. Flat breads and fries were excellent. Skip fish and chip. Fish was a bit too greasy.
Great food great atmosphere. If you're a golfer this is the place to be. Golf course restaurant with views a bar and casual dining. Yes please. We had a great time with the family. Thank you!
Delicious dinner and cocktails with fine service from Sabrina. Spacious and comfortably casual with wonderful views of the greens and TVs running so we could keep up w the US Tennis Open.
Watched the Monday night NFL game and had a blast. Sat at the bar and enjoyed Phil's funny bander and great knowledge of the the players. Good food and service🤗
Had drinks with a friend from High School, service was good, atmosphere was great and the drinks were super. I also had ordered take-out and picked it up as I was leaving. Food was good 👍
Our new go-to place in La Quinta. Tucked in the middle of PGA West this restaurant inside the clubhouse has a nice casual vibe. No need to be dressed-up like some clubs. They have a good variety of food from salads to burgers to sandwiches and even tacos. When it's cool enough we sit out on the patio and watch the golfers. Inside they have a lot of booths -- some with nice views of the greens and a giant open square bar for seating. The Tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad was tremendously good. We had the Meat lovers flatbread which tasted out of this world with their hickory smoked bacon. We'll be back soon
Great venue, outside seating was amazing, everything was good except for my battered fish and chips, the batter was still runny.uncooked.
A little bit of a wait to order and get food, but the food was delicious. Flat iron steak salad and salmon soba noodles were amazing!
Open to the public, Ernie's has good grub and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit.
Always a good visit. Great staff, good enough food, good drinks and old school crowd with wannabe golf "Pros" trying to impress. Great view. I recommend a visit.
Expensive but big portions. Nice staff. Good views. Recommend the fish and chips and Ruben.
It has been years since we ate at Ernie's. We are there with our Realtor when we closed on our home here 7 years ago and it was ok, not great. We are there Saturday after a hot afternoon of golf, and were blown away. Sat on the deck, watched the evening deepen and really enjoyed it. Good selection of beer, a full bar, a really nice restaurant with a wide menu and it was worth the visit. I had the Kobe Sliders with Caramelized onions. They were wonderful. Also had the fries with it, and they literally blew us away. Like spectacular. The fries were not typical, the were plump and hot and just outstanding. The Swordfish Tacos were well done, tasty and generous. Also had a margarita pizza that was not terrible, but not same quality as the rest of the meal. We were the last people there, and the wait staff was gracious and patient with us. It was their last week before they shut for the summer and a remodel.
Kobe sliders are tasty and delicious. Sweet potato fries were excellent - not your typical fries. A full menu of specialty Irish coffees. Will come here again for the sliders, fries and awesome view of the golf course and mountains.
Very good service, food too. Being the golf club resto it has a somewhat limited menu, but includes something from each basic category. Fantastic desserts.
Ernie's bar and grill is located inside the PGA West golf course clubhouse. The 50-50 burger was great. They have to serve it medium or above so the bacon cooks properly. I have had these burgers before at Slaters 50/50 and I thought these were also very good. There are very big windows that look out on the PGA West golf course which is very nice. It was very warm outside so wandering around the outside patio and taking in the view could only be done in short bursts but you could pretty much get the same effect. The have a really bitchen lookin chandelier that hangs down over the bar and it is really spacious. If your a big golf fan then you probably already know about this place. It has a lot of golf history and that was pretty cool.
Great service! We wouldn’t order the lettuce wraps again but the Corned Beef & Cabbage was good. The atmosphere is nice here too.
Honestly, I go to Ernie's because of the ambience. I love just sitting at the bar watching sports, I love sitting on the patio watching folks golf, I like spotting a Bighorn Ram every once in a while, and I like the service. I am a pretty generous reviewer because I know that people most times try really hard to make their business a success, but at the same time I know that folks want to have honest reviews about a restaurant. With that said, the food here is simply mediocre and I'm a little irritated every time I get the check because I can't believe how much I'm paying for food that just isn't that tasty. But then again, like I said, I don't come for the food.
PGA West hang out joint for casual food and drinks in LA Quinta. Looks out on course. Golf shop.
It would have been nice if you posted signs on the door that you were closed on Thursday. Even Maps said that you were open. I stood out in the heat wondering what happened until I called the phone number to discover the "summer" hours...
My husband and I had lunch at Ernie's yesterday 11/6/23. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and since the last time I had the same dish the quality has hit rock bottom. There were big chunks of chicken, no avocado, a few strands of pepper and hardly any melted cheese. It was dry and the chicken kept falling out of it. The quesadilla was $24!!! Come on Ernie's, you can do better than that. You are our go to place when we come into town. I would like a response from the restaurant. Thank you.
We went for an early dinner. Shrimp/ Scampi pasta was good but not hot enough, and last time we were here, the dish came with yummy garlic bread, none to be found this time. The 14 oz ribeye steak looked an awful lot like New York striploin, definitely not ribeye, and again, not hot enough. Service was friendly if inattentive.
We sat at the bar and waited forEVER before a bartender came over. Then he was annoyed we needed a menu. Then hostess was annoyed I needed a menu. Then I was annoyed to the point of writing a review about needing a menu. Despite the annoyingness of waiting. Forever. The food dos come and it was good. Fish tacos. Poke bowls. Salads. All delicious. Just don’t come in a hurry.
Disappointed. Server was sweet but food came out very slow…and they weren’t that busy. Ordered the burger and it came out “medium” as ordered, but the bun was toasted almost black and that really affected the taste. Chef should have caught that before sending it out.
Ernie’s recently stopped serving their AhiTuna Nachos, they were around $23.00. Ernie’s replaced it with three tiny Ahi Tuna Tacos. They’re very tasty however they are the same price as the Aji nachos, which was large and absolutely fabulous. Since they got rid of those, we have not been back and we will not be back until they returned to the menu.
The Restaurant and view are wonderful. Excellent service and decent food. However I won't be back if I have to sit inside. The music has been blasting every time we go and they don't want to turn it down. Not a relaxing experience. It could be such a great hang out otherwise.
Disappointing. Fish and chips ...fish was very very overcooked, and wagu beefberger not seasoned. We've had a lot better there!
Packed house because the food is great, service is fantastic but the thumping, horrible music made our evening awful. We asked the server to turn it down but the bartender refused. The entire restaurant was literally yelling across their tables. Truly a horrible experience. There are so many great restaurants around LaQuinta, spend your money somewhere else and enjoy it. We were not the only ones complaining. UPDATE: The manager came over and we asked her to turn down the dance club music. Her reply was basically the bartender chooses a station, whatever plays they can't control and we were the only ones who complained. Wrong answer! The people behind us turned around and left because of the noise. Our waiter said many customers found the music distasteful and too loud. We won't be back.
For such an amazing place and the distinction that PGA West holds, I could not have been more underwhelmed by the poorly displayed breakfast sandwich. Nothing on your breakfast menu was remotely appealing. And between the 5 of us, Porridge was okay. For 12 dollars, I got what looked like a McDonald's $3.19 bacon n egger. No garnish, no potatoes, just a medium-sized plate with an English muffin sandwich in its center. It's no wonder that your restaurant was virtually empty. I'm guessing the word is out about your food and presentation. What a shame. Maybe your food manager should take a trip to Desert Willow GC and pick up some tips. I gave 2 stars because of the view. This is the 2nd time and my last time dining at Ernie's Bar & Grill.
Very mediocre! Cold eggs benedict and potatoes and we were the only people there. Asked for to-go coffee, was just brought the paper cup and no coffee. Ended up having to go behind the bar to get my own coffee. Don’t bother.
This restaurant is closed for renovations. Would have been nice to know this via Google before attending in person as Google said it was open.
The server's ponytail was in 1 of the drinks on her tray as she was bringing it over to us. She was truly clueless. She tried to tell us that the Coors Light on tap was "a different Coors Light than what's in a can. It's made by a different company."
My wife and I went to Ernie’s today for an afternoon lunch with our friends- we all live in La Quinta- we were very disappointed in the quality of food. This was not our first visit- so we were surprised in how the food has gone downhill- the server that helped us was outstanding- so I want to make sure my review is only about the food. For the 4 of us the bill was over $120–so you would expect a good meal— my wife ordered fish tacos- which when delivered we were surprised that it consisted of two small tacos and a small bowl of black beans- when my wife picked up the first fish taco- the tortilla fell apart in her hands- and she asked for battered fish and they came unbattered- the server was called and they remade the tacos and the tortillas fell apart in her hands again. I ordered the turkey club as I had it before and remembered that I liked it. Today it was served and it was totally different- nothing like the last time - a lot smaller and tasted totally different- the quality of the bread was not the same- I asked for bacon and did not get any bacon—our friends ordered burgers and they said they weren’t as good as last time as well— $120 and we were so disappointed- it’s no wonder that there were so many empty tables- I know it’s off season- but if you are going to charge $120 for 4 people you have to step it up- needless to say- we are going to be looking elsewhere for lunch- it’s a beautiful location with the golf course all around but whoever is in charge needs to know that it was very disappointing
We had early reservations at Ernie’s. Upon arrival realized the music was so loud it was going to be difficult to visit. We asked the host to turn it down a little. She asked the bartender, nothing. A group near usat the host stand said “we can’t em enjoy our evening with this music!” They left. Once we were seated, we asked our waitress to please turn it down, we were literally yelling at each other across the table. She said she would ask the bartender. Nothing changed. We were told we would have to speak to a manager. Sabrina came out, pure attitude, she wasn’t hearing our customer complaint and said “we’ve had compliments” on the music “what do you want me to do?” Ummm, maybe look around at the average age, which was around 65 years old, and cater to your audience. Secondly, don’t flip attitude to paying customers, Third, TURN THE MUSIC DOWN. Lastly, send Sabrina to customer service training. You get a star for good food and a nice wait staff. With other great choices in the Valley, I would skip Ernie’s.
Will never go back! We waited 1hr 15 min for our food to arrive. Burger was raw and cold as were the fries. My wife’s Cobb salad was wet with something resembling chicken, no bacon, no dressing. I didn’t pay for what was the biggest disappointment to date living down here in LaQuinta. 👎🏼
We really love the location, staff, atmosphere and cocktails at Ernie's and truly hope they revamp their food menu. We have tried every item on it, in search of one we can tolerate, and quite honestly they are all horrible. It seems everyone we speak to has had the same experience. Even the simplest of items are done poorly. Salsa tastes like pasta sauce, sliders are tough, lettuce wraps soggy with overcooked dark chicken meat, pizza appears microwaved. Even the salads have brown lettuce. Again, really hope this changes.
We haven’t been here since before COVID closures. A lot has changed. The service was very slow and the server seemed very abrupt. The food was absolutely terrible. Every appt/meal ordered at our table was just a fail. The oil used to cook fried food like fish and chips and wings was gross. Had a disgusting flavour and was very greasy. The Cesar salad smelled so fishy nobody could stand the smell at the table. The taste was the same. The croutons tasted like they were cooked in the same oil as the fried food. Greasy and soggy. The worst Cesar salad that we have ever had. Too many other great places around. Don’t waste your time going here.
This literally may be the most poorly run and managed restaurant I've ever been to. The service is terrible. The food is mediocre and it is WAY overpriced. They don't have a functional menu online and if you try call to place an order, they will send you to voicemail. It is almost comical how bad this place is, all around. Stay away.
For those of you who read and submit reviews on this place......forwarning! If you make a NEGATIVE review like i did on Dec 31st, 2019 it may very well magically DISAPPEAR within a week! I think i smell a payoff....guess what?.... Jan 15 to 19th just five days before a PGA sanctioned event 2020 American Express tournament! Are you surprised?????
