Burrritos La Palma is praised for its flavorful and simple burritos, especially the chicharron and birria options. However, one customer experienced an overly salty bean and cheese burrito, while another found a birria burrito lacking meat and the salsa watery.
Tip: The chicharron and birria burritos are highly recommended.

Be prepared, burritos are not the size you normally would expect, so order at least 2 or 3 / person. Definitely the best Birria I’ve had. The cheesy Birria quesadilla is a must too. They totally deserve their Michelin bib 🤌
My first time eating burritos at La Palma, I ordered Chicken Tinga and Deshebrada , delicious and the right size. The salsa is a great. Definitely a place to come back.
All my life I have enjoy eating some of the best burritos since I was young. As I get older and wiser I have had different kind of burritos from different styles of restaurants. One of friend of mine recommend this burritos place in Boyle Heights two blocks away from old Sear's building and historic building. My wife and I and her dad went try the burritos at the Burritos La Palma,I found the place they parking. It's a stand there's tables chairs a tent that you can sit and pick up your meal. The price are very affordable and the burritos are average size. We decided to order my wife order the chicken tinga burrito and a cheese quesadilla and her dad order the chicharron burritos and I got the Birria burritos . Couple minutes later they call my name then I pick the food. I took a bite of the Birria burrito amazing great flavor the beef was so tender and sauce incredible good so spices in sauces I really enjoy it. My wife enjoy her chicken tinga burrito and her cheese quesadilla she share her cheese quesadilla it was very cheesy I enjoy it. Her dad enjoy his chicharron burritos. We enjoy the food very much and also very affordable and average size with so much flavor I would come back again.
Oh this hole in the wall is sooooo good. The burritos are not huge. But they are really good qith the salsa they serve. I got the bean and cheese. Awesome. The birria quesadilla was fantastic. Juicy and messy. So be careful. We also had a cheese quesadilla witha Mexican jam that was really good too. No inside seating. Few tables outside under cover. If you are near this place is worth the stop. Really nice staff.
So simple, but so good!! This walk-up counter serves up a pretty fast (<5 min) order of burritos. The flour tortilla is amazing, especially when the burrito is left of the grill long enough to get it a little crispy. My favorite was the deshebrada, which is filled with shredded beef, green chiles, and potatoes. It reminded me the microwavable burritos I used to get at the gas station when I was younger...but so much better, of course. A close second was the birria, bean, and cheese burrito. They serve alcohol.
Delicious well served small burritos. These aren’t your normal sized burritos but about 1/3 sized ones that are easy to eat without the tortilla breaking and food going everywhere. They come toasted also which was delicious.
So as we all know due to state regulation we are still facing take-out only everywhere you go. That being said! I crave la Palma about every 3-4 weeks (at least 😩) and drive about 20 mins there and 20 mins back home simply to scarf down some heavenly goodness in the matter of minutes. I’m usually a slow eater with a smaller than normal appetite but there’s something about these birria burritos man! 🤤 they leave you dreaming for days. Fairly priced, and very reliable when it comes to quality and execution 👌
chicken tinga is delicious! chicken is so juicy and the perfect level of spicy. the passion fruit agua fresca is AMAZING. only a picture of the aqua fresca bc I ate the burrito too fast
Extremely satisfied...same flavors as the original burritos from Jerez Zacatecas. Do not expect big size burritos this are small burritos which allows you to try a variety of flavors.
Never have I had better birria in my life. Sometimes I gotta stop myself from going here cause I would end up going 3 plus times a week.
Extremely good
This place rocks
Best burritos 🌯 in LA
Burrito de chicharron...excelente!!
I LOVE THE BURRITOS FROM LA PALMA. GREAT SERVICE AND THE FOOD IS AMAZING... TRY THE DESEBRADA BURRITO AND TINGA... LOVE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE PERFECT SIZE... NOT TOO BIG /NOT TOO SMALL...
Just a tad bit on the pricey side, but they are good! All burritos are good. For me, I don't care for the Chicken tinga.
Had some tasty lil burritos de birria and a bag of their flour tortillas to go. Don't leave without the tortillas!
These burritos are BOMB Get the Con Todo. You WONT be disappointed
Can’t wait to try their take-home frozen tortillas. Love their Birria burritos
This place is very nice, everything to the burritos and some neat things on the menu, its good.
Best birria + flour tortillas in LA!

Tiny perfect little burritos wrapped in phenomenal tortillas
Perfect burrito, tortilla was nice and griddled just as it should be
Incredible bean and cheese burritos. Love this place.

A+++
I have wanted to try Burritos La Palma for a while now but never had the time to venture out when traveling to San Diego. Thought I had read a review of it coming to Boyle Heights but wasn't sure. So glad they are here! The tortillas are so flaky and fresh. My husband and I tried the deshebrada, birria con todo, rings, and cheese and beans. They were all so tasty! Tip: Don't come here with expectation of a massive burrito, come here if you want great flavors and fresh tortillas. My husband ate 4 lol 😆 so just know that if you want volume you need more than 1! Mitch, the guy manning the register was really personable, great service.
One of my fave places, love the deshebrads in particular.
Excellent lil burritos. Definitely get multiples, 3 is a good number for 1 person. The birria burrito is amazing and my fav so far. Definitely will be back.
Insane burritos period. And they’re inexpensive. Love that you can get frozen ones for home. This place is peligroso! Saw them featured on Taco Chronicles for their Michelin Star Bean Burrito - it was insane as was their birria burrito.
Their burritos rock! I got the Chicken Tikka and the Deshebrada beef. My friend ordered online and they didn't have the quince quesadilla online, but get it when you go. So good!
Finally got to try this place at Shmorg last Sunday and oh man… if these aren’t the most perfect little burritos in the world idk. The tortillas are unbelievable, the birria is so tender and rich, and even the bean and cheese burritos feel special. Do yourself a favor and try some today
The best fish tacos in town. Ive been all over California and Los Angeles. East La. These guys rock your sox off. Great flavor. Best tasting tacos in LA. Sunday funday.
some really good burritos. We like coming here.
A religious experience. Truly incredible food. The birria is one of the most delicious things I’ve had to eat. I’m not kidding. I was so incredibly hungover and it healed me. Staff is nice and friendly too. Don’t forget to get a michelada!
THIS IS HOW BURRITOS ARE MEANT TO BE: just meat and tortilla, skinny roll up of bliss. Idk if you can go wrong here but my favorite is deshebrada, it has just a little kick.
My first time here it was a great experience, the food was delicious. Friendly service and great location. Thank you.
Better for pickup. You can eat your burritos on site but just a couple of tables on a very busy street. Did is really good. Love the sweet quesadilla.
Some of the best burritos I have ever had! Got dinner at their little takeout window and was blown away by the flavors and textures of their burritos. The tortillas were somehow chewy and soft at the same time while the filling was incredibly juicy, almost like a Chinese soup dumpling with how they flowed out of the burrito. We tried one of each kind and all the fillings just had that same spectacular burst of flavor in each bite. My favorite is probably the birria one but you can't go wrong with any of them. The burritos are smaller than traditional burritos you may expect so order a few to fill up. Well worth the accolades and a stop if you are anywhere in LA county.
The burritos here are so well wrapped that they didn’t drip one drop even though they’re so juicy it’s like eating a soup dumpling. They tasted so fresh I was really impressed. No indoor seating.
Great burritos. I could eat 3-4 in one sitting even though they are small. The tortillas are amazing. You can buy the burritos frozen. If you go to a show at Don Quixote (cool venue) they serve their burritos at the bar until sold out.
Tried the birria, bean and cheese burrito. It was really good. Definitely will recommend and return again. Parking can be challenging but worth the food. Burritos are on the smaller side but they taste amazing. I would recommend to get two burritos.
Really tasty and authentic little burritos. I like that they’re small because you can get 2-3 different kinds and I like variety. There was a problem with one of my burritos and they didn’t ask questions, just gave me a new one. Great customer service.
The folks at Burritos La Palma always do an outstanding job. Our favorites are the bean and cheese burritos and the birria burritos. Not only that, but they are on point if you put in larger orders for get-togethers and parties. If you're hungry and want something delicious and filling check them out.
Hard to park. A lot of taco stands nearby so they almost lost me but I was on a mission so I made it to the ordering window. Once there I realized this place is not like the others, it’s a hipster spot! They have a quesadilla with quince jam and maldon salt. Not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant once I realized that, but my meal was actually delicious. I had a bean and cheese and a deshebrada burrito. The tortillas aren’t gonna change your life like the ones you get on the side of the street in Sonora, but nothing in LA does, so they’re still pretty good. Fillings were great, especially the deshebrada. So flavorful, juicy, the meat and potatoes were cooked to perfection, and all the flavors were in perfect harmony. Not an off note to be found. It made me feel bad for judging them for being a hipster mexican place. To be fair though, this is the only one of those kinds of places that has genuinely good food to back it up. This is not just a buzzword filled menu with mediocre food, they know what they’re doing in that little kitchen. I liked eating outside and people watching, tables were spotlessly clean, but i could see the outdoor only being an issue when it’s cold or rainy.
The burritos are really small so you definitely need to get the 3 pack, but they're also really good and so is the salsa. The Birria is the best and the chicharron was my 2nd favorite then the beef and potato then Chicken Tinga. It's all good though tbh and the salsa is really good too. They also give u a serrano pepper with the food. Only a small 2 tables outside on the sidewalk to eat the food.
This is not a taco spot however it shows up on many best of LA's taco review blogs and list. We were pleasantly surprised with this spot. The burritos were very neat and folder in a way where they aren't going to bust and get you all messy. We tried the birria bean and cheese, chicharron and Tinga burritos. The birria one was our favorite they are on the smaller size and an order of 2 would be more filling. You pay at the window and then they call your name when ready. They only have 3 tables outside so most orders were being picked up. We will be back when we are back in town.
Such a good place to eat, it's quick and easy. Burritos are on the smaller size which is good because you can order different types of burrito. I tried birria, chicken tinga with papa, and chicharrón. My favorite was the chicharrón burritos. I highly recommend you at least get one. Im from out of town but look forward to coming back and getting more burritos.
Love me burritos and this doesn't disappoint! Flavorful meats and sauce. I had the platillo especial. I was HUNGRY but this plate was well more food than I needed. Not entirely sure the adds make it worth $13.50. I think you are good to skip the side beans , lettuce + tomato, and sauce and go for the single burreeets. Good food amongst other great places to eat in the neighborhood.
Wasn’t the biggest fan of their birria burrito, but their tortillas are excellent. The simple bean and cheese burrito was my favorite of them all.
Caught this place right before they were about to close (6pm). My friend was smart enough to check and call them to make a last minute order before they closed. Michelin rated mexican place in East LA that was highly recommended. Overall, great burritos! One thing I'll add is that they are small so a single burrito will probably not be enough. Buy a few. Very tasty Tip: This place closes early at 6pm. Discovered they also have a location in Highland Park for those who are not near East LA. I plan to try out that location in the near future.
Would come back
Ok well I seen that the price was great the amount of burrito was not worth what we paid. 20 $ for 4 baby burrito s like be a little generous ty
The best birria quesodillas. Now give me back my " family discounts" I'm Jason Morimoto and this statement and review is true.
Food is priced good, food is good
Location is a deterrent. Food is great and quality of ingredients and preparation shines through. Went on a weekday and parking is an adventure. The price for the quality of food matches. Getting to and from this location unless nearby is a chore. The staff was o.k. and the food came out good.
I like the burritos but hate the price. Too small for the price, 4 dollars each. The price is forcing me to stop going, not worth it to travel 12 miles. Let me know when they bring back the meal of 3 burritos and a soda for 10 dollars.
The food is delicious. The burritos are a bit smaller in size, but they’re very tasty. The issue is the young man with the mustache working the front window. He’s rude and condescending. A couple of times I’ve ordered a bag of chips and salsa, and whenever he’s working the register and I ask to buy chips, he gives me a dumb look and says, “Chips? We don’t sell chips.” Yes, you do. Pretending you don’t just because you’re being lazy is ridiculous. His attitude toward customers is unacceptable. He is a clown and lazy employee.
Not what I expected. Portions to small, and to expensive!
Meh at best, not worth a trip, salsa was water. Quincy quesadilla was nice.
Is aight
I finally got around to trying this place and it was good but not really worth the price and the location. The burritos weren’t as filling as I expected and the ratio of meat, cheese, beans was imbalanced. The tortilla was fresh tasting though and this place does a good job on them.
Honestly it wasn’t that good, it was like whatever something you’d get at a school cafeteria. The “salsa” was more like the leftover juice from pico de gallo, my friend said that’s what the cerrano is for, but salsa and biting into a raw chile is not the same. I probably wouldn’t come back the burritos were just ok for almost $20 (2 burritos and a drink) better off spending $15 on more food at pollo loco.
Rude men here have problems talking to women or maybe I look like I have no money but the man with the beard that owns little khaki old Toyota legit will look at you up and down and speak super rude to you
Online prices are not accurate. Drove all the way over to get food and found it the prices are not even close.
I don't see what all the fuss about... very tiny burritos that don't pack much flavor... I was expecting more given the fact it has a Michelin star... very disappointing even the salsa is sad tomato water.. was on my list now its off it ... staff was great the food wasn't...
Updated review: I have used Goldbelly to order their bean & cheese burritos for over five years. My last order the burritos were barely filled and they just weren't as good as they usually are. Super disappointed because this was my go to for a taste of home. First review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ordered the Frijoles y Queso Burritos on Goldbelly for my birthday. I was missing good Mexican food since I've moved to W.V. and they were so so good! I'm still thinking about them days later, so I thought I'd give a review! I would highly recommend! & thanks for offering them on a place like Goldbelly so I can still have food I love from a distance. ❤️
What's wrong with people? Lots of fuss for very tiny burritos that don't have much flavor. My burritos are bigger and tastier, and I'm not a great cook. I was expecting more for $4.50. Very disappointing, I was in shock. Also the salsa was not salsa, ripoff, it was tomato water. Never again.
This is what's wrong this some of these eateries in east los and Boyle Heights. . . First the street is filthy, trashy , . . .I understand YOU didn't make this mess and YOU aren't responsible for the street trash , but it reflects on YOUR business. Second the young man taking my order was really rude after I asked if they have asada. . . Yes I understand it's not on the menu but it doesn't hurt asking . . . He was making faces like a child who doesn't want to do his homework. I asked if they have anything with chicken. ( they do ) he said that they don't. I got my order and was disappointed with the portion. Customer service is not for everyone... that's why businesses need to find people persons fir their customer service positions.
5 dollars for a burrito that’s good but quantity would be depressing. 4 of their burritos is still smaller than regular chipotle size.
This location is not even open. They should update that on their site. I drove down on a Sunday and nothing.
Ish... These were the worst bean and cheese burritos I've ever had... No flavor, and nothing special! Took one bite and through out the rest! But... On a good note, I did keep the salsa for my omelette the next morning! I will no longer believe the hype of a Michelin Star, the bean and cheese burritos in the freezer section taste better than these, not joking! Gross!
