We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Forest Cafe. It truly felt like a hidden gem. It is a small cozy spot and when we went after church there was hardly anyone there which made it even better. We originally found it through Yelp and saw people raving about the homemade food and it absolutely lived up to the reviews. I ordered the Denver omelet and it was excellent. The eggs were perfectly airy and creamy without being runny. The flavor was simple but spot on and the avocado paired really well with it. Nothing felt off or overdone. We also tried a few other dishes at the table. The chilaquiles were fantastic. The tortilla chips had a great crunch and were not soggy at all. Even though they looked heavily sauced in pictures the ratio was actually perfect. Enough salsa for flavor while still keeping the chips crispy. The salsa itself was very good and the egg on top was perfectly runny and yolky which was a big plus. The version with added cheese was also great. Service really stood out. One of our friends asked for no cheese on their chilaquiles and it accidentally came out with cheese. The staff handled it so kindly. They took it back immediately and as an apology one of the owners or cooks came out personally and brought us complimentary pancakes. That small gesture really showed how much they care. The owners were incredibly sweet and kept checking in asking if everything was good and sharing how much care and time they put into making everything homemade. You could genuinely feel that passion. Huge props to Forest Cafe. I would absolutely recommend it. A great little brunch and breakfast spot and definitely a place we will be coming back to.
This is one of the best breakfast spots I've been to in this area! I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with chorizo, and they brought me this dish that didn't look like what I ordered. I tried it and it was an explosion of flavor! Instead of the traditional, wrapped tortillas, they served it over them instead. There was this crispness in the middle. It was incredible! The service was fantastic. The woman behind the counter was so sweet! This is now our weekend breakfast spot!
Meeting client in lake forest. Kimmy and I stopped here for lunch. Ordered chicken fijita and coke. Shared chicken 🐔 with kimmy. Kimmy and I highly recommend. Enjoy.
I ordered the asada burrito, and it was good. The asada tasted and had the texture of real steak. The doughnuts looked great, but maybe next time. Parking was easy.
Forest Cafe has delicious food and great service. My boyfriend and I frequent Forest Cafe because it’s a 5 minute walking distance from where we live. We order breakfast and eat there. So far, we have tried chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, breakfast croissant, and carne asada tacos. They are all really good + flavorful, and portion sizes are well worth the price. The tortillas for the tacos taste like they are made in-house and the carne asada is one of the best I’ve tried in the area. Tender and flavorful. I highly recommend this place!
food was DELICIOUS, portions are really good!! the service was amazing, everyone was very welcoming and nice, felt super homey :)))
One of the BEST breakfast burritos in town. I get the bacon breakfast burrito and at least 2-3 times a week I wake up craving it so I drive over. Daisy is always very friendly and genuinely cares for the customers that walk in. You can tell she is proud to be there and serve the community. They just changed their store name to Forest Cafe which is brilliant, simple, and a vibe. The store is small but there’s some seating and plenty outside near the Starbucks. I hope to come here for years, I just have to keep jogging daily so I can enjoy these donuts and burritos without gaining too much weight haha. Check them out!
4.5 Stars. I'm so impressed by this little cafe! I've eaten food from here three times now and each experience has been better than the previous one. The first time I wanted to order a breakfast sandwich to go (ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant) but they were out of croissants for the day so I went with a croissant with ham and cheese already baked in it. It was very tasty but also a bit heavy for me. The second time a friend of mine brought a bag of donuts from Forest Cafe over for breakfast. I was shocked by how tasty the donuts were! There were both raised and cake donuts with a variety of toppings. Clearly freshly made with the most delicious texture (somehow simultaneously fluffy and chewy?!). I was *very* pleasantly surprised. This morning my boyfriend and I went to try their actual breakfasts. He got a sausage breakfast burrito (which came with a spicy/flavorful homemade salsa and breakfast potatoes) and I got the huevos rancheros. He loved his burrito (in his words it was his 2nd favorite breakfast burrito he's ever had in Orange County), and I thoroughly enjoyed my huevos rancheros. It was so flavorful and everything was perfectly cooked. (It's hard to find a well cooked over medium egg and these were literally perfect.) The salsa verde, chorizo, refried black beans, crispy tortillas, eggs, sour cream, avocado - everything was super flavorful and the texture was fantastic. Every bite was a perfect bite. We also got a bear claw donut to share (delicious) and coffee (freshly brewed diner coffee, which I'm personally a big fan of). Service was prompt and friendly. It's a little pricey for a counter service establishment but honestly I think it's super worth it - portions were large and everything was freshly made and delicious. Although it's a relatively small restaurant, there were tables both inside and outside and we enjoyed sitting outside. The only drawback was the plastic utensils, which weren't the best at cutting through the crispy tortillas of my huevos rancheros. Overall I had a fantastic experience and I'm so impressed by the quality and flavor of all of Forest Cafe's offerings that I've had so far. I'm really looking forward to going back and trying more donuts and breakfast items!
Had some takeout for the family breakfast - why does this place not have a line everymorning? We tried the chilaquiles, breakfast burrito, bagel sandwich, crepes. Absolutely delicious food. The chorizo is perfect. HIGHLY reccommend.
Food was amazing and service was soooo good. It was 9 of us and everyone enjoyed their meal👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 and then we received a complimentary dessert, it was delicious🤤

I love this place! Friendly staff, and delicious crepes and donuts! They also serve more items like tacos (which my parents adore), burritos, omelettes, etc! Definitely stop by if you’re able to!
i quite liked this place very much foods great service is wonderful atmosphere is awesome they have this really cool view of the entire parking lot which i know isn’t much but it’s pretty out there
Great tasting and super fresh! Definitely a new breakfast spot for us.
This place was excellent. We called in an order on our way to Disneyland early in the morning and the staff was so friendly over the phone. The egg and cheese bagel was perfect!!! And I also really enjoyed the breakfast burrito. Iced coffee was on point too. We are from out of town and were glad to find an awesome local spot that deserves the love! I saw they do preorders for tamales and if I lived here I definitely would have pre ordered some!
Had a Breakfast Burrito with Sausage and it was delicious and the food quality was wonderful. I also had a fresh squeezed orange juice. It was great but a little pricey $8.32 for a small bottle. Overall this place is a nice and Cozy cafe with great Breakfast.
The food is great! Everyone who works there is always so kind and goes over and beyond to do nice things for our kids. My favorite is the huevos rancheros but so many other great items on the menu.
Forest Cafe is a cozy breakfast spot with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a menu full of delicious morning favorites. The best omellette I've ever had. So fresh and taste exceed expectation.

Our team had our meeting here this morning. The meeting went well, which was made even enjoyable with the delicious food. We ordered pancake with fruit, breakfast burrito with chorizo and eggs, turkey, egg & cheese sandwich, sausage, egg & cheese, and their Forest Blended Coffee. I even ordered apple fritter and white eggs vegetable cheese and spinach omelet with over potatoes and avocado for takeout.
A great place with amazing food that never disappoints! Their service is outstanding, they do whatever it takes to make sure me and my guests get the best breakfast burritos in town. It is the unofficial Sunday burrito provider for our Angels entertainment team!
Tried the special today🔥 They know how to make a burrito… you get egg, chorizo, beans, cheese & potato in every bite👌🏽 Delicious and so much bang for your buck $9.99 You cant even go to McDonalds for that anymore! HAD TO CHANGE MY RATING FROM 5 ⭐️s *WENT THE NEXT DAY (4th of July) and had a whole different experience. To be fair, they were busy, BUT there was something expired in my daughter’s nachos. The meat in my burrito tasted old, and the salsa had that zingy taste when it’s starting to go bad. Very disappointed. I think the food isn’t being rotated, which is a bummer because the lady that owns it (also cashier) is super sweet & I can tell takes pride in the food. She wasn’t there today. The gentleman that was running the food out didn’t bring us silverware, so I walked back in with him to get it and a salsa… He left me standing inside while he continued to bring out food…. I had high hopes for this place. I had a few great experiences before today. Hopefully it was just a fluke. But I don’t know if I’ll be back.

save yourself time and DON’T come to this place if you are looking for brunch. There is a thread in our omelette 🤮 the omelette is too plain, feel it’s undercooked. the crepe tastes artificially sweet. the environment is bad, very little space inside and the outside seating is right next to parking. They ask you to pay (including tips) BEFORE you eat, and the entire meal costed us $50+. I don’t understand why the high rating, but seems all the good review comes from 1-2 years ago. All recent reviews are negative.
Very disappointing brunch experience. For two people, the bill came to about $50, which is quite expensive for what we got. Drinks are overpriced (an orange drink alone was nearly $8, which I only noticed after paying). There was no real service provided, and the food was poor in quality. When we started eating, we found a piece of string cloth inside the omelet. They replaced it, but unlike most restaurants that would reduce the bill after such an incident, nothing was offered here. Overall, the food, service, and value were all below expectations. I will not be visiting again.

To the Management, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the service I received at your restaurant. As a first-time visitor who is still improving my English, I needed a little more time to understand the menu. However, the male server who assisted me showed no patience and was incredibly dismissive. His condescending behavior made me feel very uncomfortable throughout my meal. Good food cannot make up for such poor service. I believe your staff needs better training on hospitality and basic respect for all customers. I have no intention of returning to a place where I am treated this way.
