While walking by 101 Ocean I immediately stopped to witness bartender Danielle actively engaging her guests with such positive energy, happiness, captivating smile. At this time i had wish that I had visited here instead of the Aruba Beach Cafe. Danielle delivers a FIVE Star Customer service skills and her personality is unmatched with my many years of hospitality experience; 25 years working for 5 star casinos and I'm a former Owner/President of a well known catering corporation. Plus many years as a broker in financial services. Danielle deserves a big financial bonus. She is OUTSTANDING Zfrom the competition.

This place was a whole vibe! I absolutely loved this spot. The customer service was good! The food and drinks were great! I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Fort Lauderdale, Fl. You will not be disappointed

Great place for a late night bite! The service was excellent, the food came out quickly and the drinks were to die for. I had the classic mojito and it was excellent for a non-cuban establishment. If you get Shannon as your server, you are in luck, she is great! Highly recommend this place!

101 Ocean was the finest restaurant I’ve eaten at in quite sometime. From the waiter staff, and the amazing food, well I can surely say I’m highly recommending this to all my family and friends. The music was excellent as welll. We were a table of 9 and everyone raved how yummy their meal was. I’ll be back soon. If there were more than 5stars, I would give it to them.

Went to 101 Ocean recently.The menu is extensive and the atmosphere is fun and casual. Had apps and cocktails and everything was great. Our server Chris was wonderful. I’m definitely going back again soon.

A great lunch spot with an expansive menu. Average prices that you’d expect to get for a meal steps away from the beach. Amazing food, the best flatbreads, and speedy service! We definitely plan on coming again!

Chris, our waiter, was excellent. He made perfect recommendations for drinks, and now I also highly recommend the blueberry basil margarita. The prices were also excellent compared to other bars in the area.

The cuisine is excellent! The grouper was amazing! Chris, the server, is excellent and takes good care of you. You may enjoy a pleasant sea breeze from the many outside seating options.

We went here for lunch. First of all we were really impressed of the huge variety of different beers. The waitress offered us to taste some beer so that we can easily decide. Really nice gesture. After having ordered drinks and food we just had to wait 20 minutes for our food and it tasted amazing. Unfurtunally we just spent one day here otherwise we would have been back. The staff was friendly, it‘s located close to the beach and inside there‘s the possibilty to watch some sports. Nice restaurant!

This place is my go-to spot when in Ft. Lauderdale / Pompano Beach. Awesome, lively atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. If the weather is good, I recommend waiting for a table outside. Located on Commercial Blvd, it’s the perfect place for people watching, listening to music, and taking in the ocean breeze. The mango habanero wings are amazing - crispy and saucy, a rare combination. The asian spice ribs were also amazing, although very rich and strong in flavour. For entrees, both the crispy fish tacos and the American wagyu burger are out of this world good, and served with fresh cut fries and coleslaw. The beer menu is also huge, so be adventurous and try something new! Can’t wait to go back.

It was super busy when we arrived, Emily and Dalana* took our information for seating, we wanted a table near a TV for the Penguins Hockey game, inside or out. Emily sat us at the best possible table! Our server Stephanie delivered the best service despite being so busy, we were never neglected as well as her other customers! The meal was delicious! (I recommend the Maza plate!!) Espresso cocktail was well! Thanks girls and 101 ocean staff for or a great experience, We will definitely be back!!

An casual restaurant on Commercial Blvd very close to the pier. It has a good variety of food and drinks. We sat outside and enjoyed a wonderful Piña Colada!. We tried the goat cheese and beet salad, which was very generous and delicious, and the grilled Mahi Mahi with a side salad, which was carefully prepared so it was gluten free. By the way, they have a Gluten free menu. There's lots of parking around. Nice service.

Everything was fantastic, food, drinks, and service. Not overly priced but you get good portions for the price. Absolutely worth it. Stuffed Salmon is without a doubt, amazing! And the staff very friendly and welcoming, even though we got there late and stayed right through closing.

My experience in this place was very placid and cozy. Here you can see beautiful sunsets and enjoy the happy hour, where you will find inexpensive and delicious appetizers such as Spin dip, as well as cocktails. Sitting by the sea in the afternoon is a relaxing experience. The service from our waitress was exceptional and the food was delicious. I will definitely be back!

I have been visiting this establishment for happy for several years. A couple of years ago I noticed a strange charge on my tab (css or ccs). I never use a credit card as I always pay my tab with cash. What is this charge for? There is no signage to mention this extra charge. I feel this is inappropriate. The bartenders are always friendly, Dani, Jerry and the others that have been there as long as I have been going to happy hour. I just visited this establishment on September 30th 2025 and they no longer add this charge to your tab.

Super delicious PEI mussels in a red sauce, and had a very delicious chopped Greek salad that I cannot wait to go back and order again. Our server Carla was wonderful 😊

Can recommend. Update: went to 101 Ocean again, this time for happy hour, and tried three great appetizers - hummus and pita, fried calamari, and spinach and crab dip. Alla re highly recommended. Made for a great happy hour and cheap night out. We will be back.

Ok ..Had a guy “ Chris”as our server that bent over backwards and up side down…holy crap ..so much fun food was great but even if food wasn’t this guy was great ….got us a great table was so patient ( hey we are older but not too crabby but Made our friends feel so welcome ..hope he stays there for ever !!! Also with place packed food came flying out hats off to the kitchen and all the help!!! Chris might have coined a new drink name too ! A strong drink for women called a husband beater “ ok we started that but loved his humor/about it!!! PS it was on musics night on a Friday on the street so that much harder but this place hit a home run!!

We went on a Friday, right at opening time. We ordered calamari with the Seaside Lemonade and Traveling Mule. The calamari was super fresh and cooked to tender perfection. The the batter was light and crispy. The Polynesian sauce was delicious and my favorite dip. I ordered the Fish and Chips and my hubby ordered the Mahi Mahi Sandwich. The cod fish was very lightly battered yet crispy. It was perfectly cooked and juicy and flaky. The tartar sauce was excellent. The fries were very fresh. The Mahi Mahi was very tasty and cooked well. Overall, we enjoyed everything. The bathrooms were also very clean (no wet rag odors or anything). We sat indoors as the temp was in the high nineties. The indoor seating was nice. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. We will be going back.

Went there on a Monday night and was still a little crowded but that's probably because the food is good. Actually was happily surprised at quality of it all (being that most restaurants in the area are alright at best). Got to try a bit of it all, they have a large selection of food but even larger selection of craft beers. It was all tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely a place to check out when in the area.

We came to 101 Ocean for the first time and we were not disappointed. As a big party we were seated right away and the service was great. All the entrees were delicious I recommend the salads since they are served in bug portions and are pretty tasty. We also had a brownie for dessert that was delicious.

We love it here and it's our go-to for happy hour calamari! It's nice sitting at the outside bar and people watching. Great staff and great food. Love the tuna melt! We've enjoyed this place many times.

This place is a great spot to catch a game or enjoy a nicer meal. Great island bar on one side and plenty of seating on the other. Upscale too. I asked Trevor if he would be willing to support his community and he provided me the opportunity to do so, front and center of the entrance. This place seems like a great place for casual drinks, a nice dinner, or a family meal.

We had the arugula and prosciutto flatbread along with the Cobb salad, and we would definitely order both again. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu, and the bar staff was fast and friendly. The atmosphere—just steps from the beach—made the experience even better. Does it get any better than that?

We had a very nice lunch at one of there outside tables. We ordered the Mussels which were outstanding and the Taco flatbread which was very good as well.

Very extensive menu. We have gone here twice and both times we had excellent and caring service. This is really rare for a tourist area in Broward County. Food was above par and we will be back.

Been here a few times, food isn’t too bad. Good atmosphere at night. Didn’t try any cocktails but will the next time. It’s worth a stop in LBTS. Outside seating and seats for the bar as well.

The food is good. Happy hour prices great. If you like noise, overcrowded restaurants with no parking, then you will love this place. The happy hour apps are excellent. On entre we got was fish and chips and it too was excellent. Our server was way overworked with too many tables to even vaguely keep up with. Not a problem until you tried to get a last drink during happy hour. He missed us , a table of 8, could not make an exception, so we settled up and left. Too bad because we are all good drinkers and tippers. Good vibe but way too packed for our taste.

The lobster Mac n cheese is to die for....ok not literally lol. It was delicious, creamy, filled with lobster. The atmosphere is typical beach bar but not as loud and crowded inside (because of the layour) as the other restaurants in Lauderdale By The Sea. The service was ok and location to the beach makes the a great spot to dine in or out and then get out to the sandy shores of our paradise.

I wasn't pleased with the calamari. The first order was overcooked and the replacement wasn't that tasty. The drinks were excellent and the service by our bartender was great. The atmosphere is open and the views are wonderful. Ill give it another shot soon!

Quick bite in a tourist trap. The food is good and drinks are OK. I had the half baked chicken, was made to perfection.

We were seated promptly. The ambiance was beach vacation cool. The food was fresh and delicious. We had a few appetizers. The Asian spice ribs, raw clams on the half shell, the truffle mac and cheese, and the crusted tuna. All were flavorful and served at the appropriate temperature. Cold appetizers first and then the hot, were delivered to our table. I would have gave this place 5 stars across the board but the service was poor. The place was busy but not so much so that every time out waiter passed us after delivering food or drinks, he would not look at our table or ask if we everything was okay or if we needed anything else. Not sure what his problem was.

After a day at the beach I was looking to eat Fish and chips and found this place…very “British “style fish and chips that comes in one piece of fish with good fried potatoes. Chicken quesadilla another good option. Good attention from waiter

Cool spot, across the street from the beach right in the corner. I had the fish and chips and my husband the lasagna. Both were well proportioned, flavorful. We got there during happy hour drinks and appetizers had price specials on them. Worth the trip. They have inside and outside dining.

Nice place on beach. I can see why it's been here forever. Food is fine, very basic menu. Great HH specials too. Service was slow and nonexistent.

5/22/24- 6/22/2024-wow went for lunch. I had the blackened mahi. G had the fried grouper the sandwiches large both came with/ ff, Cole slaw. Good service too Very busy they had the games on. Elaine the hostess couldn’t have any been any sweeter she took our drink order gave us our menus. Michael the service who was very busy was quite helpful being a picky eater he help me decide on what to have. I went with the fish and chips there was 3 pieces and french fries . The fish was a bit greasy but I had a couple of paper napkin and bloated of the excess grease. The fish was Cod. Nice white and flaky. My gf had the philly cheese wit wiz All good

Went here with family for dinner the other night. We live in the neighborhood and this was our first time trying this place. The oysters were very fresh just could of been cleaned a little more but my main dish was good. The shrimp was fresh and the crab meat was not all breading which is a big plus. I enjoyed the potatoes and the asparagus too. They had a variety of dishes so I want to go back and try more dishes.

It's a very lively place with good food and music. The service is excellent. We were treated very well. As a criticism, I must say that the sound quality wasn't great. Some speakers were with the cone break, making everything very distorted.

We’ve been regulars for years at 101 and since the ownership have noticed a downward change in the food. In particular, one of their signature appetizers is the truffle Mac n’Cheese. No more truffles added and not as creamy. Also used to be served in wrought iron black dish and now served in a white cereal bowl. Please return to the original recipe. Staff are terrific and the location is wonderful.

Been here numerous times over the years. The food is always pretty good, but they really need to hire more people for high season. And watch your bill for a BS "administrative fee."

Went to lunch with friends and kids. Very packed, went during lunchtime. Very spacious. Right by the beach 🏖 Both are servers were great. The food was “ok”. For the price it could have been better.

The food service was very good until we settled our bill. A new POS system was not processing the payment and the poor waitress received little support from the Manager who remained in the back trying to resolve it. 30 minutes later an incorrect bill was presented.

Went on a Thursday night. Lots of talking, crowded, and the live musician wasn’t great. Saw our server 3 times the whole night. Took an hour to get food. She gave us the wrong drink, after 15 minutes of waiting. Charged us for a drink we never received. The food was okay but 3 people in our party got sick; like coughing and sore throat. Weird. Plantain Crusted Grouper ($30) had 5 pieces of broccoli (supposed to be cauliflower), Portobello flatbread ($16) was burnt on the bottom, and the Crab stuffed salmon ($32) had 4 pieces of asparagus; definitely not worth the price.

New management and the food use to be really good and now with the new kitchen manager, not so good. Need to fix it and I’ll try again in a couple months.

Asked for an old fashion using Orange Label Bulliet Bourbon 🥃. The guy went to the side and made the drink but I did not see the correct bourbon bottle being used nor moved at all. What Whiskey did he use? Hmmm. Bars in this area are known to charge top shelf for lower brands of liquor. Not my first time but disappointed done at 101. I wish he would have made the drink visible to me so I could see what liquor he really used.

One of our most favorite places since we moved here last October. Tonight, we ordered blackened salmon salad, which was great except for balsamic vinegar drizzle and no obvious dressing. The salmo was cooked excellent!! Goat cheese pizza was perfect as always. And a steak sandwich, which was extremely chewy as you can see the leftovers on the plate. Service was not great!

Well I was at first excited and then terribly disappointed. Our SERVER was Amazing!💯 When I entered I was not greeted but my BFF with me was..hmm maybe I was a bit too dark. We were told we had to wait until our entire party had arrived well that wasn't going to work they would arrive as they could after 4hr drive.Food was not good😞. Atmosphere loud and there is a much older crowd. Food orders taken separately however at the end of the evening they ABSOLUTELY REFUSED to separate the check! So BFF that had made the reservation has to pay almost 500$ on her credit card. I was DONE! Never Again! Lesson learned!

Waiter served two other tables seated after us. Came up to the table with two waters said nothing and was talking to the table next to us instead of greeting us. Got the wine order wrong twice. Really unimpressed with the service and the food didn’t make up for it the way we hoped.

Service was great, but the menu was way too big. When you see a menu that size, you already know the food can’t be fresh. The taste was okay, but everything seemed frozen and overly salty — that’s usually what happens when it’s not made fresh. It’s a shame, because the location is great and the restaurant itself is really cute. It would’ve been amazing if the food matched the vibe and the setting.

Happy hour until 8PM. Food ok. Male bartender working tonight 9.3 has zero customer service skills. Basically told me I was not seating in his "section" so he couldn't help me. Seriously?! Our check ended up being close to $400...🙄👎.

We had a reservation, we show up. We're seated immediately, which is great but then it took our server about 20 minutes to greet us. I had to go up for the hostess once to ask after waiting about fifteen minutes to see if our server is even aware we're seated. I understand if you're busy, but it takes two seconds just to approach your table and communicate to that to your customer. We ordered appetizers which were great and the drinks were good. Until we got our entrees. I had ordered the lobster mac and cheese, and it came out like a white liquid soup with the consistency of water. I never returned food, but I couldn't let that one pass and pay forty dollars for it. After leaving I thanked the short brunette hostess for her help and she said, and I quote, "yeah, yeah" and walked away. I've been here many times never had any issues until now. not sure what's going on with this place but it needs to be fix asap. Can't believe I payed 300$ plus tip for this. Very very disappointed, and horrible customer service.

Food tasted awesome.. service terrible.. they were not that busy but our server kept disappearing.. then to top that off I was charged for my check and another customers check, how does that happen? Then the manager was very crude and called me names when I didn’t “tip” for bad service.. I treat people like they treat me, crummy service equals no tip!

Really dissatisfied with my service here from start to end. No one at the hostess stand to greet us initially, and then a waiter comes up to check something at the stand and doesn’t even look at us 🙄 (it takes 2 seconds to say “someone will be right with you”). Food is overly salted and with varying temps. Cold sandwich, lukewarm fries. Superrrr salty fries and breakfast potatoes. Also I was served water in a broken glass and couldn’t drink anything until the end of my meal because the waiter never came to check on us. I had to flag the host to call our waiter. (His excuse? “I saw you guys eating, you looked fine” 🤦🏻‍♀️)

The brunette bartender working 9/20 around 4 was less than happy to help, I work in the industry. I never would write a bad review but they charged $17.00 for a Tito’s and when I asked they just brushed it off. You don’t charge for a drink someone didn’t get……

The food is ok now days. Before was excellent. My husband ordered the 101 half pound burger and it was ok, with a lack of flavor.. And I ordered the Original Philly Cheesesteak that before it was only shaved Ribeye, and now it is shaved ribeye and mushrooms but the menu doesn't appear that, so they put mushrooms and less meat 🤦🏼‍♀️ My guess is to cut cost.. 🤦🏼‍♀️ only found out when I was eating the texture was weird and since I don't eat or like mushrooms.. Oh well.. That will be the last time we go there. Shame😢🤦🏼‍♀️.. I usually love to go there but it is not the same anymore.. They change the food, but the menu is the same.

When I got bothered that, they overcharged me for an appetizer.And I specifically ordered the appetizer.They started making fun of me in front of the rest of the restaurant.Do you wanna go eat at a place like this?Do you wanna go to a place that treats you horribly and makes you wait for their horrible service and then tries to overcharge you?The manager, there is a jerk and should be fired. There was no customers in the restaurant and they overcharge. You be careful if you eat there and check your bill. Because they'll make fun of you. If you confront them on their poor service, I'm going to write this review on every website. I can find. They blame it on their point of sales system. What a joke and the manager's a joke and so is the wait staff telling you they're busy and they're not even a customer in the place they make you wait.

Just walked in and walked out after trying to sit at the bar.. I am 25 years old along with my 24 year old friend who happened to forget her ID. As we realized this, we were deciding what to do while still sitting at the bar. The male bartender with glasses stated he could not serve us without ID’s and proceeded to tell us, not in a nice way, we had to get up from the bar as minors because we didn’t prove ourselves otherwise older. We responded and said we understand but it could’ve been conveyed nicer and could’ve asked us to get up instead of commanding us. Or we could’ve been offered a table versus being told to leave. While this encounter was happening, the manager was standing by not interfering as the bartender (probably in his late 30’s) argued with us with an attitude as we were walking out. To prove a point, I went to the manger and showed him my valid ID and said as a willing paying customer who is in fact able to sit at the bar, I did not appreciate the way he spoke to us nor that nothing was said on your behalf. The manager proceeded to say “you’re good, I’ll talk to him later but you are being persistent instead of just leaving.” This was all said as the bartender continued to intervene in the conversation with the manager and myself, stating he’s been in the industry for 4 years. I may be 25 but I have also been in the industry (for 6 years now) and I know what good costumer service is. I did not appreciate the passive aggressiveness from the bartender or the aloofness and lack of accountability of their manager.

We Had a Reservations at 7:30 -pm for 6 people 4 adults 2 children. I was never told about the live music until we were seated. On top of that we were sat right next the live band. We were blasted by two women behind us for not singing with band, we had two small children 11, & 9, they were using very bad language as my 9 year old granddaughter said. The only benefit was these women were very hard to hear because of loud band. You were one of our favorite restaurants but now you never see us again. There’s plenty of choices. I felt bad for the hostess because she was berated by these two women as well. We just got up and left. I apologized to the hostess but I wasn’t going to put my grand children through that. I am sure that band made up for our $400 dinner. But as we talked to all our friends at Villas by the sea this will be our last visit to Ocean 101

A very disappointing experience to say the least. On Wednesday evening, around 7:00 p.m., noticed the breakfast menu sign in front of restaurant, on Commercial Blvd., asked 2 of the hostesses what time breakfast ends on Thursday, next day. They both confirmed 3p.m.. I said "wow, are you sure?" Yes, they both confirmed. Next day, Thursday, I go around 12:00-12;30p.m., to get a table for 4 of us, and said to the blonde waitress that I was there for breakfast. She said there is " THERE IS NO Breakfast" and appeared annoyed and dismissive. I explained that I was there the night before and asked 2x... She was rude. I asked to speak to the manager, she said "there is NO Manager". Told me to follow her to the bar, and I shared what happened to.. I guess the bar tender? I said "your staff should not be telling people that breakfast ends at 3p.m... we made plans accordingly. Being here on vacation, we've been eating out every day at restaurants...and have had great service, but this is the only place that treated me so rudely. I was very surprised, and even more disappointed.

Fuimos a cenar, y al coger la mesa se le indicó que no hablamos inglés, al principio empezó a atendernos una persona que hablaba el español, luego la cambiaron por otra persona que no hablaba nada español, era bastante desagradable y se le veía borde. Tardaban un montón, para todo. Desde luego no volvería a ese local.

Mala atención. Mesera mal encarada y con mala actitud nos levantó de las mesa 2 veces. (Y que x que no podían sentarse 2 de mis hijos q venían comiendo helado) Le explicamos que queríamos comer todos allí . Después nos dijo que en esas mesas (de afuera) no podían sentarse 5 personas solo 4.. Total que con ese sol que había nos tuvimos que sentar en las mesas que ella dijo que no tenían paragua. No salió mas a atendernos. Se tardaron años en tomarnos el pedido otra mesera. Ya molestos y acalorados decidimos tomar cerveza e irnos a otro lugar a comer donde nos atendieran bien y nos hicieran sentir cómodos. De verdad que lástima , corren a los clientes y a los turistas con ese personal que tienen. Eso fue el Domingo. El lugar estaba poco concurrido. Very, very bad attention! ☹️
