Avis sur Osteria Olga Lecco
Lecco isn't teeming with good restaurants... At Olga's you'll find a rare quality in the area, especially when it comes to meat! I've been a regular customer for many years, and I can assure you that you can be wary of negative reviews from people who probably know what they're doing and know how to eat... and as for the wait, if there is one, rest assured it will be worth it, and it certainly won't be due to a lack of professionalism... I agree.
An authentic place with high-quality traditional Italian cuisine. Impeccable service. A very pleasant surprise at the turn of an unexpected street... The place is quiet and carries the charm of these 17th-century buildings still in their original state, an absolute must-see!
Nice place
Good food, nice enviroment and kindness. A place to go!
Respectful wine restaurant. Simple and traditional Italian dishes with medium prices.

Excellent food, excellent service, new management but whoever took it over has 20 years of experience behind them (and it shows)! Congratulations, I gladly come when I'm in the area. Small but high quality menu! The prices may be "rounded" but that's fine anyway (I never think you could increase the attendance, but that's just my opinion). For the rest, everything is excellent, trust me, it's worth it!
A very quiet restaurant for an unpretentious lunch, with fair prices and reasonable portions. The service is very thorough and attentive. The food is delicious, including some lake fish dishes. The place is charming, located on a very quiet street and surrounded by some greenery, which makes it possible to have outdoor seating in the warmer months (I imagine). Recommended.
Nice atmosphere and good wine. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal wasn't a memorable one. We waited 45 minutes for two cold appetizers (ricotta and tartare) and another 45 minutes for the first courses. There were only eight customers in total, so the delay wasn't justified. The dishes were bland, especially the pasta with sausage ragù and eggplant gnocchi (not terrible, but definitely not very tasty). The price wasn't right.
Olga has always been an institution. I wasn't aware of the change in management. I made a reservation for five people, and upon arrival, the table was set for four. We were given the food and dessert menu, but not the wine list. We ordered five appetizers, but the waiter didn't seem to understand and initially only wrote down three. We weren't asked if we'd like wine, and we were forced to ask for the wine list ourselves. When we ordered, we were told: "The other wine will arrive." The appetizers arrived after the tables that arrived after us were served (there are five tables in total): four plain tartares, a plate of lard (excellent), and some clearly canned beans. Not a trace of oil or pepper. The main courses arrived in small bites. Olga's signature dish, the famous "elephant ear," isn't as good as it used to be: I remember the sound of the meat tenderizer coming from the kitchen during preparation, but this time it's clear it wasn't used, given that the meat is at least 5 centimeters thick. The grilled vegetables, served as a side dish, arrive unseasoned and, once again, without oil, which we are forced to ask the waiter for. The menu and prices have remained unchanged, but the service is totally inadequate and the quality of the food decidedly poor. With great regret, this is the last time I'll be visiting Olga's. I work in the restaurant business, and the criticisms I've made aren't meant to be the usual negative review, but rather a constructive attempt to help the staff learn from it and improve. Unfortunately, despite this, I won't be setting foot in this restaurant again.
Da Olga used to be a sure thing. A historic restaurant in Lecco, the one where you brought friends, clients, "important" people and always made a great impression. Once upon a time. Today, unfortunately, only the name remains. The current management seems to be entrusted to two people who could work at McDonald's... actually, no, it would almost be offensive to the American chain, which at least has organization, smiles, and consistent timing. Six of us arrive. We order appetizers, wine, and water. We ask for two Coca-Cola Zeros: not available. They only have tonic water. Okay, I think, it can happen. We then order two first courses and four cutlets with sides. The result? One of my friends practically eats alone: his risotto arrives well before the rest of the table, while the others watch. My daughter orders pasta with wild boar ragù: the waitress asks if she wants parmesan... why not put it on the table? The four cutlets arrive at different times than the first courses, with fries that look like they've been fried in engine oil. We ask for a second bottle of wine, the same as the one on the table, to continue the dinner: once that's gone too... All this is accompanied by rudeness, no smiles, zero attention, no kindness. The atmosphere of a real osteria? Gone. The warmth? Absent. Respect for the history of the place? None. Two real improvisers! All that remains of Osteria Da Olga is the sign. And, sadly, it's not worthy of carrying it.
A dinner to forget. We arrived at 8:00 PM, appetizers were served at 9:30 PM (mostly cold cuts), and the main course at 10:30 PM. The quality of the ingredients in the dishes was poor, and the bill was incredibly high. Not recommended!
Dinner for five people and a three-year-old. We entered the restaurant at 7:45 PM, and the appetizer arrived at 8:30 PM. The child's pasta arrived even later. We ordered appetizers, a main course, and desserts. We asked twice for a wine from the menu, only to be told it wasn't available, offering us other bottles without mentioning the price. The wait was disarming; the dishes arrived haphazardly: the side dishes arrived, and after at least 10 minutes, the tagliata. One of the diners ate alone because his dish arrived well before everyone else's. We never complained, unlike the other tables who, rightfully, called the staff back for information about their dishes. We paid and finally left at 10:30 PM. I returned with the receipt in hand to ask about the bottles of wine, since we had chosen two under €30 from the menu, and on the receipt there were two for €35. The owner/chef/sommelier/waiter tells me in front of the entire dining room that I'm trying to cause a row and tells the girl at the cash register to give me my €10 back in a truly rude and aggressive manner. Disgusting treatment, after an evening spent waiting for our dishes with a child who couldn't take it anymore. Under the previous management, we were regulars; this new management is incompetent, and even rude and vulgar. The prices are high; one expects a very different quality and treatment. I repeat, they are tarnishing the good name of Olga's restaurant, which has always been a guarantee of courtesy, quality, and respect.
An insult to Italy! We're looking for the former owner, Olga! A pretentious chef who pretends to be a grand master, but is incapable of providing the bare minimum—not even serving wine! A completely overwhelmed waitress, nonexistent service, and uninteresting dishes served after a two-hour wait. And to top it all off, a tagliata that shames Italy (see photo): poorly presented raw meat, lacking soul and respect for tradition. Arrogance and incompetence combined: avoid at all costs. Waste of time, waste of money. Banished.
