I was told Blacks was some of the best BBQ in the state of TX so I had to come by and check it out for myself. I was not disappointed. Got to meet the owner as he was great to come by and introduce himself. The food was excellent. I had sliced brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, cole slaw, and black eyed peas. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. When I am back in the area I will return.

Visiting from California, and Black's was amazing BBQ! Great and hospitable service and insane brisket. They accommodated my family of 12 with no issues or hick ups and were helpful the whole meal. Definitely adding to favorites. Loved it here, good outside and inside seating. Good pricing, happy customer me.

I’m visiting my daughter in Georgetown and drove to Lockhart for the BBQ. I got the lean brisket it melts in your mouth like butter, original sausage with sides macaroni and cheese and beans. You can smell it from outside. Amazing bbq and great service.

Cons: NONE. NOT A SINGLE ONE. Pros: Location: Situated in a quaint, small town. It's very nostalgic. The drive is scenic and fun to just coast and listen to music. Staff: FRIENDLY. WELCOMING. KNOWLEDGEABLE. Seating: Plenty of seating. However, we were fortunate to be there on a Friday during lunch. Food: We ordered the beef rib, brisket, sausage and pork ribs. We also ordered the beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and peach cobbler. The beef rib was succulent. Juicy, great bark, flavorful meat and LITERALLY fell off that big 'ol bone. The brisket had a great bark that was not laden with salt but instead had a perfect mixture of seasoning that married well with the meat and rendered fat. The pork ribs...well..let me just say this...St. Louis and KC bbq will never be the same for my taste buds. Black's pork ribs have set the bar extremely high simply due to the flavor. Their ribs didn't require a bunch of sauce. In fact, no sauce was necessary and would be quite disrespectful for that work of art. The sausage was good and had a perfect "snap", outstanding flavor and was well worth ordering. ( I'm just...salivating as I write this review. ) Give me a second.....okay I'm back. Now the sweet potatoes were what us soul food lovers are accustomed to eating for Thanksgiving. They even had the marshmallows on top!!! The mashed potatoes were good but I should have ordered them without the gravy because it didn't allow me to fully enjoy the potatoes. The peach cobbler was delicious as well.

A Texas classic! Whether you’re a tourist or a Texan, Black’s. is a must to visit. The bbq is absolutely delicious. I had the moist brisket, original sausage, pork ribs and mac n cheese. The ribs were falling apart even before biting into them. Absolutely delicious. I will be back so try the beef rib and the rest of the menu.

Very friendly place! Every one of those employees are awesome. family friendly. Everything was juicy good . Great tasting rib- that was my favorite. of course, we got a lot, wanted to try every one of our favorites had to take it home. Sausage was made perfect not too spicy not too tough, just right flavor and grind. Place was beautiful outside! Even thanked the bbq pit master that was outside watching the BEEF!!! Love the potato salad. Never had one with just dill!!! Stopped by on our way to Dallas thank you all for making us feel at home even the bus man was very cool guy!!! Have a great day guys loved it!!!

Incredible Texas BBQ and absolutely worth the stop. The brisket was tender and smoky with a great bark, and the sausage had tons of flavor. Ribs were fall-apart good without being mushy, and the sides (especially the mac and cheese and beans) were solid. Even with a line, it moved quickly and the staff kept everything organized. The place was clean, the portions were generous, and the overall experience felt very “classic Lockhart BBQ.” Highly recommend—one of the best BBQ meals I’ve had.

Great restaurant, great lookong meats. I got the beef rib , it was good but had too much fat. Great flavor the price was a little steep, payed $61.55 for a 1.625lbs rib. Sucks It had too much fat and most of the weight was from the bone. Overall it was good, need to try the other meats.

Been here a few times… the other times were better. Today We ordered moist brisket that was not moist. Was actually more on the dry side so I was disappointed, especially at a 33/pound price. The turkey could have been smoked a little more- it was bland. The sides were good! We had the mac and cheese and yams. Bread is on a self serve counter to grab what you want. I always try tea at bbq places and I made sure to fill my cup up again before I left.

Not the best. Brisket and Beef rib- fantastic Chicken was decent, sausage was overcooked and dry, pork rib was good. Now the sides were not good. Have had a huge expectation on Texas barbecue and tried Black’s today. Had a high expectation because it seemed to be one of the most well known for barbecue in Texas. The food was good, but it wasn’t any life changing flavor 😅 Maybe my expectation was too high. Also, I expected some crazy portions in Texas because every thing is big in Texas right? But the portion doesn’t seem too big. The only thing big was the price. Decent experience but wasn’t the best ever.

I begged a friend to grab me some delicious BBQ from here, because honestly I love it. I was HIGHLY disappointed this time. I had asked for the extra moist, my fave. What I received was some of the toughest, driest, and non flavorful brisket I've eaten from here, almost anywhere. I've even q'd up some better smoke rings and crust. I do not live Lockhart so I couldnt just "fix it". To top it off the included sauce, pickles, and onions were for 1lb (if that) IYKYK, BUT we bought TWO pounds and there was no bread in the bag! If my buddy should've grabbed that, i get it. Ugh. Idk. I didnt pay so I'm thankful but I feel for my friend who spent around $40 for disappointment. I have a video may upload it. Best wishes y'all!
